Tricking Us Into War: The Cases Of Lincoln And Roosevelt [John V. Denson]

"Despite the miracles of capitalism, it doesn't do well in popularity polls. One of the reasons is that capitalism is always evaluated against the non-existent, non-realizable utopias of socialism or communism. Any earthly system, when compared to a Utopia will pale in comparison. But for the ordinary person, capitalism, with all of its warts, is superior to any system yet devised to deal with our everyday needs and desires."

  1. Mr. Townsend:

Thank you for posting this, as I'd never heard of the Mises Institute.

However, I've now added the link to my own web site, as I've also added a link to your web site, which I now follow.

Like you, I also grew up in North Carolina, and I have an ancestor, Corporal Jonathan Trueblood, who served in the Confederate Army in North Carolina.

His unit fought at the Battle of Bentonville, and he was listed as among those who were with General Joseph E. Johnston at the surrender.

I really enjoy your comments and resources.
