"I am incapable of seeing anything other than a consortium of kings and queens when I look at the Supreme Court. Despite their objections, they act as often irrationally and insanely as they do rationally. One good ruling that seems to represent the Constitution is obliterated by another that is pulled out of thin air or over-reliant on the vaguest clauses.
The Constitution was not vague, it was specific."
-- Norman Vincent Peale (1898-1993)

........when you hear about “spending cuts” and “austerity measures” and “shared sacrifice,” ask yourself the question: “What is being cut and who is sacrificing?” The answer: You will be asked to sacrifice and your salary is what is going to be cut through increased taxes.
"Thomas Jefferson is renowned for his many interests, including architecture, horticulture and inventing gadgets.
Among the third president's lesser-known pursuits was making beer, and modern-day visitors to his mountaintop estate at Monticello can soon get a taste of the past."
It was January 1861, in the weeks between the state's decision to secede from the Union and the emergence of the Southern Confederacy, and South Carolina needed a national flag. A committee of legislators had been appointed to come up with the design and, on Jan. 21, 1861, the panel presented a proposal that "the National Flag or Ensign of South Carolina shall be white, with a green palmetto tree upright thereon; and the union blue, with a white increscent."
Is the Egyptian revolt going to become another “Iranian Revolution?” To be sure, there are forces who would love to see it, the Muslim Brotherhood, for one.
Whatever the cause of the revolt in Cairo, the Brotherhood has joined it. Protests have begun in Lebanon as well. Violence attracts more violence.

"The reliability of the M16 when in good condition—cleaned and lubed—is so high, I don’t believe that it’s worth the money to change to a new weapons system. You would have to see a substantial improvement in performance, and the performance with the M16 and M4 is very good.
Well, at SHOT he went much further, saying the Army’s removal of full auto on M4s cost lives and that the 'upgrades' the service is requesting aren’t much."

" An icon of the Vietnam War, a faithful conveyer of American troops across the globe and savior to countless lost or injured civilians, the Huey helicopter's long Army service is ending."

"I get lots of emails from readers asking about AKs. in Israel Here in Israel we show respect for their creator, Mikhail Kalashnikov by calling them by his name, Kalashnikov.
The IDF has captured lots of AKs and uses them in the IDF Special forces.
For most of my readers the question is usually, "how can I upgrade my oldschool AK so it feels and shoots like a modern weapon?"
The new accessories are available can really help take the AK's old school look and feel, and bring it into the 21st century.:
What if the American government ever “goes bad” and becomes a police state? That tyrannical government, IF it could enlist the willing support of every American soldier and every American cop (which is thankfully doubtful), could field perhaps a total of 1.5 million armed personnel. These duped soldiers and cops would have to go to their jobs each day facing a bare minimum of 10 MILLION very, very motivated and angry armed American citizens. The other 55 million would sit on the fence waiting, with their guns, to see which way the tide was flowing."
If? We are certainly well along that path. BT
