Of course it wasn't -- a fact proven later by none other than FBI master evidence technician Frederic Whitehurst. But at a critical moment in the ATF's fortunes, Dees had bought the agency some precious time by virtue of a well-timed lie.

Why would Dees help screen obviously racist conduct when he was nominally the big "anti-racist crusader?" Why would he risk discrediting his gravy train?

Because, SPLC and ATF have always had a two-headed monster symbiotic relationship, and that relationship formed an integral part of his gravy train as well. He HAD to defend such reprehensible conduct, or risk his "intelligence" stream being cut off."

“Imagine that Governor Palin had become president. Imagine that she had announced that Roe versus Wade in her view was unconstitutional and therefore the United States government would no longer protect anyone’s right to have an abortion because she personally had decided it should be changed. The news media would have gone crazy. The New York Times would have demanded her impeachment.

“First of all, he campaigned in favor of [the law]. He is breaking his word to the American people,” Gingrich says.

“Second, he swore an oath on the Bible to become president that he would uphold the Constitution and enforce the laws of the United States. He is not a one-person Supreme Court. The idea that we now have the rule of Obama instead of the rule of law should frighten everybody.

“The fact that the left likes the policy is allowing them to ignore the fact that this is a very unconstitutional act,” Gingrich said.

Gingrich said it is absolutely critical for Obama to comply with Congress and the constitutional process.

“I believe the House Republicans next week should pass a resolution instructing the president to enforce the law and to obey his own constitutional oath, and they should say if he fails to do so that they will zero out [defund] the office of attorney general and take other steps as necessary until the president agrees to do his job.

“His job is to enforce the rule of law and for us to start replacing the rule of law with the rule of Obama is a very dangerous precedent."

Richard Keefe (of Watching The Watchdogs) has left a new comment on the post "What A 'Hate Group' Hates: A Counterintelligence R...":

1. There is no legal definition for “hate group,” which is why even the FBI does not track “hate groups.”

2. The SPLC uses the deliberately meaningless term “hate groups” in its fund-raising propaganda precisely because it allows them to denigrate their perceived opponents without accusing them of any actual crimes.

3. The “Hate Map” is a fund-raising tool, nothing more. It provides no information whatsoever on the alleged groups, in fact, the SPLC didn’t even bother to make up locations for 262 of the groups; that’s 26% of the total.

In many states the percentage of phantom "groups" runs as high as 80-100%. Many of the alleged “groups” are listed twice in the same location.

4. Since the SPLC is the sole arbiter of the meaningless “hate groups” label, AND because SPLC fund-raising is directly tied to creating the illusion of an ever-increasing threat, it is in their direct financial interest to raise the numbers each year.

Last year the SPLC took in $31 million donor-dollars in donations and earned $26 million in interest on its bloated “Endowment Fund.” That’s $57 million dollars for last year alone. Since 2003, the SPLC has taken in more than a third of a BILLION dollars in tax-free cash, and yet the number of “hate groups” always goes up.

“Chairman Issa issued the subpoenas for depositions so that the investigation could continue moving forward, and we are expecting DHS to fully cooperate with the committee,” said Kurt Bardella, a spokesman for Issa.

DHS officials have previously told Issa’s office that officials strictly adhere to the department’s guidelines when deciding whether to censor the public’s requests for information under FOIA. But a career official within DHS has come forward as a whistleblower with information that contradicts the DHS’s stance, according to a source close to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
