As I reported on Friday, Libyan rebel commander Abdul-Hakim al-Hasadi has admitted to fighting in Afghanistan – namely, on the side of al-Qaeda and the Taliban – and even to recruiting Libyans to join al-Qaeda in Iraq. Al-Hasadi made these admissions in conversation with Roberto Bongiorni of the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. Bongiorni’s report from al-Hasadi’s hometown of Darnah contains another interesting detail: one that suggests just how widespread the participation of the locals in the Afghan and Iraq “jihads” must have been.
And another lie by Obama.
"The U.S. military dramatically stepped up its assault on Libyan government ground forces this weekend, launching its first attacks with AC-130 flying gunships and A-10 attack aircraft, which are designed to strike enemy ground troops and supply convoys, according to senior U.S. military officials."

"In a letter to the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Senator Chuck Grassley pressed for additional details about the bureau’s knowledge of the straw purchasers of the guns involved in the killing of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata.
Today’s letter follows a March 4 letter where Grassley cited press reports and a Justice Department press release that raised the prospect that the ATF strategy of allowing straw purchasers to continue to operate in hopes of making bigger cases may have contributed to the shooting of Zapata. The Justice Department responded to Grassley’s letter on behalf of the ATF but refused to provide any substantive information, citing an investigation by the department’s inspector general."
"I cannot in my worst dreams imagine Michelle Obama speaking to the graduating class of the United States Military Academy at West Point ! How much arm twisting went on to accomplish this? If anyone, it should have been the Commander in Chief who would speak to them. After all, he is the one that can send them into battle and to their deaths all too often. Or is it that he just can't face them, and so toss it to Michelle. Who knows?"
Obama is scheduled to speak at University of Northern Iowa, Spelman College, the U.S. Military Academy and Quantico Middle High School -- institutions that share a commitment to service and have students actively involved in improving the world around them, Obama's office Friday said in a release.
Real estate mogul Donald Trump thinks the governor of Hawaii should be "investigated" for saying he remembers when President Obama was born.
Speaking on "Fox and Friends" Monday, Trump said that Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) was just trying to help fellow Democrats defend accusations that Obama was born outside the United States and therefore is ineligible to be president.
“I think this guy should be investigated," Trump said. "He remembers when Obama was born, give me a break. He is just trying to do something for his party.”
Trump, who has been mulling running for president in 2012, has been voicing skepticism that Obama was born in the U.S. In an interview on ABC's "The View" Trump demanded to see Obama's birth certificate.
"Why doesn't he show his birth certificate?" Trump asked. "I wish he would, because I think it's a terrible pale that's hanging over him."
Trump's repeated statements about Obama's birth certificate are in line with claims by so-called "birthers" movement that Obama is not an American citizen.
Abercrombie, a former Democratic congressman, has been a staunch opponent of this claim. The Hawaii governor has said in past interviews that he remembers Obama when he was a baby in Hawaii and remembers seeing him at social functions. Additionally, Abercrombie says he knew Obama's parents.
During his presidential campaign, Obama released his birth certificate to the public to satisfy the birthers.

Some, like Issa, wonder how Holder could not have known about an investigation that size.
"One of the questions we always ask is who is lying," Issa told Fox News. "We lose our credibility if we don't come clean and make the changes necessary to save lives on both sides of the border."
If the Justice Department and ATF refuse to deliver the records Issa requested, as it already has done with similar requests by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, Issa can subpoena the records.
"We will subpoena if we have to, we'll hold hearings if we have to, we'll call in officials if we have to. But at the end of the day, the two Americans likely to have died as a result of this action pale in comparison to the countless numbers of Mexicans who have been killed," said Issa.
Last Thursday evening at Montclair State University, with a video camera rolling, Bill Ayers volunteered that yes indeed he had written the acclaimed Barack Obama memoir, Dreams from My Father.
Unprompted, Ayers also noted that while Dreams deserves its praise, Obama's second opus, Audacity of Hope, is "more of a political hack book."
Not surprisingly, Ayers retreated into irony as he ended the session. "Yeah, yeah," he said after confirming again that he wrote Dreams, "And if you help me prove it, I'll split the royalties with you. Thank you very much."
With his final comment, the Ayers-friendly audience laughed in relief. The media will laugh nervously upon seeing the video as well. The White House will not.
Barack Obama knows what I know and what the people who have read my book, "Deconstructing Obama," know: Bill Ayers is the principal craftsman behind Dreams. The evidence is overwhelming.
Ayers also established, as I have contended from the beginning, that he is not the author of Audacity of Hope. Although Obama claims unique authorship of this book too, it was, as Ayers suggests, a disingenuous feint to the center written by committee.
Worse for Obama still, Ayers knows that the story he and Obama contrived in Dreams is false in many key details. The fact that Donald Trump has proved willing to challenge that story has got to make the White House even more apprehensive.
As was obvious in his speech at Montclair, Ayers does not like the application of force in Libya, and this may have been his own way of retaliating. Consider it a shot across Obama's bow. The White House will.

An hour and a half later, the fence was fixed, and Joe was beat. He returned to his mansion, dusted the filth off his jacket and his jeans, and walked through the back door, stepping into the kitchen.
This is Coolmore Plantation, Joe’s home and one of the most significant pieces of property in North Carolina, an Italian Villa built in 1860 for physician and cotton planter J.J.W. Powell and his wife, Martha. Weather and time and even war have passed through, and while other plantations have fallen, Coolmore has withstood it all.
It is a home and a museum, and Joe and his wife of 52 years, Janet, watch over it accordingly. Preservation North Carolina owns Coolmore, but because there’s no endowment for it, the organization has a unique arrangement with the Powell family — it leases the mansion and property back to direct-line descendants who want to live there and tend to it.
Preservation North Carolina.
Just outside Tarboro sits one of North Carolina's finest antebellum complexes. Coolmore Plantation, built 1858–60, is a splendid Italianate villa designed by Baltimore architect E. G. Lind for J.J.W. and Martha Powell. The main house contains room after room of original furniture and exhibits elaborate plasterwork and a comprehensive scheme of decorative painting. A suite of picturesque outbuildings mirror the Italianate style of the main house. Extensive documentation of the construction and furnishing of the house survives.
Coolmore has been designated as one of North Carolina's 38 National Historic Landmarks and is one of just 20 prestigious Save America's Treasures projects in the state.
Powell was a wealthy physician and cotton planter who looked North to find a fashionable architect to design his plantation home. Lind sent builder N.A. Sherman from Baltimore to supervise construction. He ordered most of the building materials from there as well—not only glass, hardware, and paint, but also lumber, brackets, ornaments, and the spiral stair rail. He also had a lithograph of the residence printed. Steamboats churning up the Tar River delivered most of the goods to the site.

George Soros is the most dangerous man in the world because, just like the crazy megalomaniacs in old fifties movies, he is deceiving everybody into believing that he is altruistic, when in fact, he is using his Open Society/Shadow Party to undermine the very fabric of American society.
Soros is the Puppet Master that funds many Progressive groups.
And while Soros can continue to spend his money on these organizations, he should not use money Americans pay in taxes to fund this pseudo-intellectual nonsense. To do so is irresponsible.

Here in the Tar Heel state, the Republicans have taken over the House and the liberals are freaking out. Thank goodness they don’t have guns. Otherwise, they’d be shooting up the campus and causing irreparable harm by injecting lead into the public water supply. One university chancellor was so freaked out she said this about the proposed Republican budgets cuts: “If the Republicans get their way we’re going to have to raise tuition by $2000. That will mean that most of the expense of higher education will have to be paid by the people who are using it - as opposed to the general public.”
That’s a frightening prospect for a liberal, now isn’t it? Just imagine a society where people have to pay for the goods and services they use instead of having “society” foot the bill. To live in such a world would make people accountable for their actions, which might actually motivate them to conserve scarce resources. And we can’t have people conserving because that sounds too much like "conservative."
(Author’s note: The word “conservative” is considered hate speech on most college campuses. I have a theory that most academic programs lack rigor because the word “rigor” sounds like another word that is banned by campus speech codes – unless, of course, you’re a black or hyphenated American).
But, of course, the chancellor was right this time – I guess a blind nut occasionally finds a squirrel. So there will be budget cuts and there will be resentment among Generation Entitlement (hereafter: Generation E) students. Therefore, I’ve come to the rescue with a plan that solves everyone’s problems. My plan helps us cut the state budget for higher education while helping to ease the resentment that will undoubtedly ensue among Generation E students.
My plan is very simple: Combine African American Studies, Gay & Lesbian Studies, and Women’s Studies into one academic program called “Resentment Studies.” I know that initially some will resent my proposal. But allow me a chance to explain my thinking with a few examples:
