Apocalypse, Wow: Disaster Ready Homes

Quote via Matthew

“It has become fashionable in recent times to talk of the leveling of nations, and of various peoples disappearing into the melting pot of contemporary civilization. I disagree with this, but that is another matter; all that should be said here is that the disappearance of whole nations would impoverish us no less than if all people were to become identical, with the same character and the same face. Nations are the wealth of humanity, its generalized personalities. The least among them has its own special colors, and harbors within itself a special aspect of God's design.

Letter to my children

I get to spend more time with my children tonight, but I must say that lately, I've had this overwhelming urge to take them, one by one, and apologize for what I'm allowing, what we're allowing to happen to them and their children.

We

are

selling

them

into

slavery.

Slavery.

It's the way of things though. Government grows at the people's expense, until the people have enough.

When is our "enough" point? Will we reach it as a nation, or will that be up to my children and yours?

I agree with Mr. Paine:

"If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."

_________________________________________________________________________

My children, if you ever read this, know that I love you as much as one human can love another.

I am ashamed to the depths of my soul at the prospect of passing on to you worse than what was passed on to me.

I am ashamed at the possibility of giving you a less free nation than I was born into.

I am ashamed that I speak to you of principles, and of liberty, and freedom, yet I allow these things to be taken from you before you can even taste them.

I am ashamed that while you and your children are having your prosperity, time, and property stolen from you, right now, I can think of not much more meaningful to do about it than to record it.

I have taught you that only you can control you. I have taught you that everything in life is a choice with consequences.

Yet I sit here now, typing, while the consequences for living as free men and women become more severe each year. I sit here, typing, while more and more of your labor and life is stolen, before you fully understand these things.

I speak to you of resistance, but right now, the only future in this nation I am able to give you is one of servitude, compliance, and submission. If you refuse that, there will be only suffering and punishment.

I am sorry, children.

I am sorry, with all that I am.

God help me.

God help me be a man. Give me wisdom and courage.

Help us all.

Grant’s Phantasmagoria of Insolent Fraud

http://www.custerwest.org/coverup1a.jpg

Without the honest and conservative stability of Southern elected leaders, the US Congress after 1861 descended into a morass of corruption, free-spending and alliances with corporate interests which fleeced the taxpayers. After the Radical Republicans were in absolute control of the government, and an unwary stooge elected president with manipulated and fraudulent votes in 1868, the Gilded Age of unrestrained finance capitalism and public officials for sale was a foregone conclusion.

Grant’s Phantasmagoria of Insolent Fraud:

“All the cost of the Civil War can, in fact, not be learned from Grant, and though he presided over the country in the White House for eight years after the war (1869-1877), the consequences of Northern victory, with its unleashing of the money-grabbing interests, were quite beyond his grasp. Grant’s Memoirs, like the writings of Lincoln, are after all, a literary creation, and intellectual construction with words. They are a part of that vision of the Civil War that Lincoln imposed on the nation, and we accept them as firsthand evidence of the actualization of that vision.

[F]ormer Vice-President Andrew Johnson…was opposed by the Radical Republicans, who even tried to remove him as President and who, in the period of “Reconstruction,” humiliated and exploited the South. This period would certainly have been difficult for Lincoln. He was dead and safely out of it, but Grant was still alive and only forty-three.

Simple-minded beyond the experience of Wall Street or State Street, he resorted, like most men of the same intellectual caliber, to commonplaces when at a loss for expression: “Let us have peace”…The progress of evolution from President Washington to President Grant, was alone enough to upset Darwin. He had the idea, for example, that it might be an excellent thing to send some of the freed Negroes to Haiti, and he had taken advantage of a situation created by two rival governments there to draw up with one of its Presidents a treaty for the annexation of the whole island of Santo Domingo.

His appointments to his cabinet were often fantastic: he had no judgment about people in civil life, and he appointed as Secretary of the Treasury the proprietor of a large New York dry-goods store, unaware that anyone in foreign trade was debarred from holding this office; for Minister to France he selected a half-illiterate Illinois Congressman.

Under Grant’s two administrations, there flapped through the national capital a whole phantasmagoria of insolent fraud, while a swarm of predatory adventurers was let loose on the helpless South. There was the Credit Mobilier affair, in which the promoters of the Union Pacific Railroad, who had obtained an immense government loan and twelve millions acres of government land, made a contract with themselves under another name and paid themselves three times more than the cost of building the railroad, in the meantime bribing the congressmen with shares in the imaginary company.

There was the gold conspiracy of [Big] Jim Fisk and Jay Gould, in which Grant was persuaded by these two financiers, without in the least understanding their aims, to assist them in cornering the gold market by causing the United States Treasury to shut off the circulation of gold. There was the Whiskey Ring, a group of distillers who evade the internal revenue tax by bribing Treasury agents – a scandal that landed at the President’s door when his secretary, a General Babcock who was with him at Appomattox, was shown to have been taking the distillers’ money and to have used it in financing Grant’s campaign.

One can hardly even say that Grant was President except in the sense that he presided at the White House, where the business men and financiers were extremely happy to have him, since he never knew what they were up to. It was the age of the audacious confidence man, and Grant was the incurable sucker.”

Meckler was firmly against raising the debt ceiling, and dismissed consequences of it not passing. On President Obama’s contention that Social Security checks might not go out, Meckler contended: “That’s just simply a lie. There is plenty of revenue to pay our Social Security obligations. There’s plenty of revenue to pay our debt, our interest on the debt obligations. If the president and Secretary Geithner choose not to pay Social Security, they’ll be held responsible. Mr. Eric Holder
Attorney General
Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington DC 20530

Mr. Kenneth Melson
Acting Director
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
99 New York Avenue NE
Washington DC 20226

Dear Attorney General Holder and Director Melson:

I am writing to share my deep concern about reports that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) have participated in multiple acts of "gun walking," purposely allowing firearms to pass from straw purchasers into the possession of criminals and other dangerous third part organizations. These reports raise troubling questions about the motives, intentions, and competency of the ATF and the DOJ.

The ATF has noted that illegal weapons trafficking is a "problem with consequences on both sides" of our border, and that ATF's objective should be to prevent dangerous foreign groups and organizations from obtaining firearms "which they employ to murder rival drug traffickers, civilians, as well as political, military, and law enforcement figures in order to strengthen their grip on the lucrative drug and firearms routes into and out of the United States." However, two weapons found at the scene of the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry were traced back to the ATF's "Operation Fast and Furious" -- a gun walking operation conducted by the ATF's Phoenix Field Division. This evidence suggests that the federal government has severely failed the very objective it proposed for Project Gunrunner, the ATF's comprehensive strategy to reduce violent crime associated with foreign criminal organizations.

In recent days, it has come to light that the ATF and DOJ may have participated in the act of "gun walking" beyond the acts conducted within the scope of "Operation Fast and Furious." Recent reports have suggested that Project Gunrunner may not have been limited to weapons trafficking to Mexico and that similar programs included the possible trafficking of arms to dangerous criminal gangs in Honduras with the knowledge of the ATF's Tampa Field Division and the Department of Justice's Middle District of Florida through an operation known as "Operation Castaway."

As a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security and a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, I find it troubling that the United States government would willfully allow weapons to be acquired by dangerous criminal and drug trafficking organizations, in direct contravention of our strategic and national interests.

I would therefore appreciate your answers to the following questions:

1. Can you confirm whether or not the ATF Tampa Field Division and/or the Department of Justice's Middle District of Florida participated in a "gun walking" scheme that allowed weapons to be trafficked to Honduras?

2. If so, does the ATF or the DOJ have knowledge of any of these firearms ending up in the possession of the notorious MS-13 gang?

3. How many guns have been allowed to pass into Honduras and how many have since been accounted for?

4. Were trafficked weapons subject to any special monitoring processes once they left the United States?

5. Has "Operation Castaway" been terminated? If not, does the DOJ or ATF plan to terminate this program or urge its termination?

6. Has the DOJ or the ATF established any criteria or guidance pertaining to what is admissible for future operations aimed at preventing firearms from being obtained and used by dangerous foreign criminal organizations in crimes similar to the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry?

It is my belief that the ATF and the DOJ operated in an extremely misguided manner in allowing guns to walk across the border and end up in the possession of dangerous criminal organizations. These actions have already resulted in the loss of human life and property. I hope that you would agree that we must not allow flawed programs to continue to operate to the detriment of the safety and security of the United States of America.

In that regard, I look forward to receiving your answers to these questions in a timely manner.

Sincerely,

Gus M. Bilirakis,
Member of Congress.

“Dear David,” the email from Examiner.com HQ began, “We have received postal mail addressed to you within the corporate office. Could you please provide us with a physical address in order for us to forward it to you?”

Well, they do have it, as there’s this little (and how!) matter about compensation and taxes, but I gave it to them again and just received an envelope yesterday containing another envelope (see accompanying sidebar photo). I opened it—sloppily (again, see accompanying sidebar photo) and—Holy crap, one of those lunatic racists sent me something about my friend Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers.

It’s pretty vile stuff—I can’t display it on Examiner.com due to some sort of family values standard corporate mandates that we content providers follow, and even linking to it on my Scribd page may be a violation, but here goes: See the letter here, but be warned: It is graphic, obscene, hate-filled and violent.

Quartzsite Police Officers Refuse to Follow Unlawful Orders

View Image

Full disclosure -- I am now the official legal counsel for both Jennifer Jones and for Ed Foster, the Mayor of Quartzsite, Arizona, regarding all of the many well documented abuses of their civil rights, and in particular, their First Amendment protected rights of free speech, assembly, as well as their rights to take part in the political process, by the Quartzsite Chief of Police and Town Council. This is in my individual capacity as a lawyer, not as the President of Oath Keepers. I want to make that clear. But I do see this as part of my responsibility to keep my oath, and in particular the oath I swore as a lawyer, to defend the Constitution. Sometimes the law can indeed be used as a sword of justice, so please wish me luck in helping them hold the town council and the Chief of Police accountable!

For the Republic,

Stewart Rhodes

Oath Keepers -- You may have heard about the situation in Quartzsite, Arizona. The town council and the Police Chief there are now in full spin mode in reaction to national media attention being focused on their well documented pattern of silencing political opponents by means of intimidation and false arrest, including at public meetings. Now they are claiming that there is an “emergency” which requires them to cancel normally scheduled and open public meetings, by claiming that they are in danger -- claiming they have received threats.

An easy way to cut through all the spin is to read the written report submitted by ten of the police officers in the Quartzsite Police Department, expressing their vote of no confidence in the Chief of Police, and requesting an independent investigation of misconduct by the Chief. Their letter lays out many violations of the law and of the rights of the people. This is from the men and women who work in that department, who feel compelled to step up and speak out, at risk of their jobs. These officers are a stellar example of what all police should be doing when unconstitutional behavior happens in their departments, and they are keeping their oaths. Our hats are off to them! The whole document is worth reading, but the following quotes are particularly valuable in understanding what is going on there:

From page 4 of the document:

HB 2077: Bill to require federal agencies register with county sheriffs

A. ANY FEDERAL AGENCY THAT COMES INTO A COUNTY TO CONDUCT AUTHORIZED BUSINESS SHALL REGISTER ITS PRESENCE WITH THE COUNTY SHERIFF. THE SHERIFF MAY IMPOSE A REASONABLE FEE ON THE FEDERAL AGENCY FOR COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION APPLICATION.

B. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW, A FEDERAL AGENCY THAT REGISTERS WITH THE COUNTY SHERIFF PURSUANT TO SUBSECTION A SHALL FORWARD ALL MONIES COLLECTED AS A RESULT OF FINES, FEES OR PENALTIES IMPOSED BY THE AGENCY ON A PERSON, BUSINESS OR INDUSTRY WITHIN THE COUNTY TO THE COUNTY SHERIFF. THE SHERIFF SHALL IMMEDIATELY FORWARD THE MONIES TO THE STATE TREASURER FOR DEPOSIT IN THE STATE GENERAL FUND.

Breaking story: Grassley & Issa catch Eric Holder with his cover-up underwear down around his ankles.

From a letter by Senator Grassley and Congressman Issa to Eric Holder released this morning:

We have recently learned that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has afforded potential witnesses for the Committee's investigation into Operation Fast and Furious access to a shared drive on its computer system replete with pertinent investigative documents, including ATF e-mails. Although our staff has been advised the Department has since terminated access to this document cache, we write to seek additional information relating to this egregious decision. We also ask that you promptly self-report this matter to the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

As we understand it, the shared drive contains the documents that have been produced to the Committees through the course of our investigation, those made available for in camera review and possibly documents that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has not yet provided to the Committee. These witnesses had not previously seen many of these documents.

Allowing witnesses access to such documents could taint their testimony by allowing them to tailor their responses to what they think the Committees already know. Additionally, witnesses who gain access to documents they have not previously seen could alter their recollection of events. This practice harms not only our investigation, but also the independent investigation that you instructed the Inspector General to conduct.

One witness who had access to these documents informed us of this questionable practice:

The Arizona town that's become a YouTube sensation for its police department hauling away a woman speaking at a town-hall meeting declared a state of emergency this afternoon, leaving many local residents in fear of what officers dressed in full riot gear might do.

Jennifer "Jade" Jones, 45, the woman forcibly removed by police from a recent public meeting in Quartzsite, Ariz., despite the vocal objections of the mayor, says an illegal secret meeting was held today with the public locked out of the building.

NRA Will Sue Obama Administration Over New Gun-Control Measure

View Image

(CNSNews.com) - The National Rifle Association plans to sue the Obama administration over its new gun-reporting requirement in four states bordering Mexico.

On Monday, the Justice Department said it would require firearms dealers in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to report multiple sales of certain semi-automatic rifles to the same person within a five-day period. The goal is to stop the illegal flow of weapons to Mexican drug cartels, said Deputy Attorney General James Cole.

The new reporting requirement applies to semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines and calibers greater than .22. Such weapons, Cole said, "are highly sought after by dangerous drug trafficiking organizations and frequently recovered at violent crime scenes near the Southwest Border."

NRA Executive Director Chris Cox called the reporting requirement "a blatant effort by the Obama administration and ATF to divert focus of Congress and the general public from their gross incompetence in the Fast

Medal of Honor Roll Call: Edward A. Bennett

A WW II hero corporal who went toe-to-toe with the Germans
by Robert J. Laplander

Rank and Organization: Corporal, U.S. Army, Company B, 358th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division. Place and Date of Action: Heckhuscheid, Germany, February 1945.
Entered Service At: Middleport, Ohio.
Birth Date and Birth Place: 11 February 1920, Middleport, Ohio.
G.O. No.: 95, 30 October 1945.

Citation:

He was advancing with Company B across open ground to assault Heckhuscheid, Germany, just after dark when vicious enemy machinegun fire from a house on the outskirts of the town pinned down the group and caused several casualties. He began crawling to the edge of the field in an effort to flank the house, persisting in this maneuver even when the hostile machine gunners located him by the light of burning buildings and attempted to cut him down as he made for the protection of some trees.

Reaching safety, he stealthily made his way by a circuitous route to the rear of the building occupied by the German gunners. With his trench knife he killed a sentry on guard there and then charged into the darkened house. In a furious hand-to-hand struggle he stormed about a single room which harbored 7 Germans. Three he killed with rifle fire, another he clubbed to death with the butt of his gun, and the 3 others he dispatched with his .45 caliber pistol. The fearless initiative, stalwart combat ability, and outstanding gallantry of Cpl. Bennett eliminated the enemy fire which was decimating his company's ranks and made it possible for the Americans to sweep all resistance from the town.

GOA and Gun Rights:
At the Center of the Debt Limit Fight

You’ve heard a lot about the “debt limit” fight going on in Washington.

But have you ever wondered how it affects you and your Second Amendment rights?

Since he took office, Barack Obama has increased the federal budget from a scandalous $3.1 trillion a year to an even-more-scandalous $3.8 trillion a year.

Now the bill has come due, and Barack Obama is trying to borrow $2 trillion to pay for his anti-gun agenda.

He cannot be allowed to succeed, as we must block his efforts to use that money to pursue an anti-gun agenda.

If the debt limit is not renewed, there will not be enough money for ObamaCare and anti-gun regulations. And, frankly, this means that Republicans negotiating with Barack Obama have all the cards in their hands.

Read the entire alert here, and then TAKE ACTION -- demanding that your congressman votes to defund anti-gun ObamaCare.

HSIEH: The Coming Collectivization of American Health Care

The Accountable Care Organization is yet another Orwellian-named idea that is an assault on freedom and common sense.

============================================

The Wolf Files

VERBATIM POST
==========================
Under this new system, the traditional 2-4 person small group medical practices many Americans are familiar with would rapidly become an endangered species. ObamaCare legislation requires doctors who accept Medicare patients to follow strict new documentation standards as well as to purchase (and make “meaningful use” of) government-approved electronic medical record systems. These requirements can impose enormous financial and administrative burdens on small medical offices. Coupled with declining reimbursements, many small practices will thus have an increasingly difficult time staying afloat.

Hence, many doctors are already choosing to merge into larger practices (or become hospital employees) to remain economically viable. In 2010, the Medical Group Management Association reported that 65% of established physicians hired and 49% of new physicians finishing residency chose to join hospital-based practices. Similarly, the American Medical Association reported that from 2001 to 2008, the number of physicians in solo practice fell from 37% to 25% and in small 2-4 person practices fell from 26% to 21%, with these numbers expected to decline even further.
The ACO is a thinly-veiled attempt to get control of doctors. The end result will be the ultimate two-tiered system that liberals say they abhor. Doctors who can, will quit doing business with the government altogether (i.e., drop out of Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) and take only those patients who can afford to pay them without government involvement (and perhaps even without private insurance involvement). What's that? You can't afford to shell out ten grand for an unexpected surgery? No problem, take a number and go get in the government line. Meanwhile the wealthy will avoid that second-class system.

What's worse, even the groups that served as models for the ACO concept say they won't participate in them.
The Administration wrote its rule based on an ACO pilot program that started in 2005 among 10 high-performing physician groups, including Geisinger Health System and Dartmouth-Hitchcock. All 10 say they have "serious reservations" about the new rule and that without major revisions "we will be unable to participate." In other words, the providers that are already closest to being an ACO have rejected the Administration's handiwork.
The Soviets, as Paul Hsieh describes, thought they could collectivize farmers under strict government rules. The result? Despite having some of the most abundant and fertile farm land in the world, the collectivized nation soon couldn't even feed itself.
