Maxine's Myopic Economic Solution: Buy More Gum Balls!

Now, this is good!

A recent news headline caught my attention: Representative Maxine Waters Calls For A Trillion-Dollar Jobs Program.

After reading that I feel obliged to make a few sarcastic comments. (A privilege that I don't abuse through over-use, as the editor of

Well, gosh, Maxine, if your "spending money that we don't have creating wonderful economic prosperity" concept is so iron-clad, then why not go whole hog by pouring even bigger buckets of slop into the public trough? Why not spend $20 trillion to create zero unemployment? There would be jobs for everyone.

We could develop whole new categories of jobs! For example, people who only like to watch television could be given "television monitor" jobs, at say, $100,000 per year. And people who only like to shop at the local mall could be given "economic stimulator" jobs, at say, $200,000 per year. And what about people that don't like working at all, but who love to eat? We could make them "American Tourism Ambassadors", and pay them $400,000 per year to take cruise ship tours all around the world, for 50 weeks of each year.

We shouldn't look at this $20 trillion in "stimulus" as increasing the National Debt. After all, we'll just "Owe it to ourselves", right? The money will just cycle back through the system, creating even greater wealth. And with all that magically-created prosperity, we can just "Buy more gum balls"! (Note: "Quantitative Easing refills are sold separately.")

Oh, and Maxine, just think of it: Your constituents will love you for this, and they'll want to elect you over and over again! (Yes, you can have a 12th term in congress. You might even get to stay in office for your whole life!)

If Heaven ain't a lot like Dixie

All rapes in Norway over last 5 years committed by Muslims. A shocking report released by police in Oslo, Norway, has concluded that all cases of rape over the last 5 years in the country have been perpetrated by Muslim men. This report was released just a couple of days ago, and it has been all but ignored in the American media despite its very important implications. The report confirms that there is a Muslim problem not just in the world in general, as Bill O’Reilly is fond of saying, but in Western European countries like Norway where the Muslim immigrant population does not assimilate to the ways of the Western world.

More specifically, the report released by the police reveals that there were 86 cases of sexual assault (rape, essentially) that happened in Oslo between 2005 and 2010. In a staggering 83 cases, all of the men were reported by their female victims as having a “non-Western” appearance. The politically correct Islam-apologists will seize on this and intentionally misinterpret the “non-Western” description as potentially meaning any race. However, Norway, as are many Western European countries, is notorious for having a huge influx of Muslim immigrants, so when the Norwegian media uses the politically correct term “non-Western,” rest assured that this conclusively means Muslim.

News of this stunning-though-not-too-surprising report comes by way of a Norwegian TV station. In their piece, they also interviewed a poor, Caucasian, Norwegian rape victim who understandably wanted to remain anonymous when discussing her massive trauma at the hands of a Muslim. The young woman in the news story asserted that her rapist was a Pakistani man who fearlessly told her that Islam gave him the right to sexually abuse any woman that he wanted! If you are shocked by this, don’t be. Just realize that this is a fact of life in the placid “religion of peace” that we call Islam.

Honor, Lee and the WBTS

Via Old Virginia Blog

Anyone who believes the war was fought only over money, the inhumanity of human bondage, or the complexities of state vs. federal rights, misses a crucial ingredient. Regardless of the causes of the war, the men who shouldered the burden of war did so, largely, for honor.
Honor strikes a primal chord in men's hearts and honor was such a defining element of the war that it continues to strike a primal chord in people around the world a century and a half later . . . We are confronted today with serious problems that seem overwhelming in their scope and complexity, but the solutions have already been written in the blood of our ancestors. We just need to look back to see them.
Since honor is so lacking in our modern culture, it is often misunderstood and overlooked by professional historians. As I once heard James Robertson point out, "Robert E. Lee never existed [in the minds of some] because we don't have a Robert E. Lee today."

It is impossible to understand the WBTS without understanding the concept of honor. It is even less likely one will be able to understand the WBTS without an appreciation for the concept of honor.

An Intrusion of Reality: Never a Good Thing

Things change, usually for the worse, and always against the innocent. (This truth is a principle of curmudgeonry.) When I came to Mexico some eight years ago, it was a peaceful, moderately successful upper-Third-World country—middle-class, barely, literate, though often barely, and as democratic as the United States, which is to say barely. Things were improving, though often they had a long way to go. The young were visibly healthier than preceding generations. The birth rate was in sharp decline. Women entered the professions in substantial and growing numbers.

And it was safe. Expats sat over coffee at the plaza laughing at people back in the States, insular, fearful, ignorant of the world outside their borders. (For recent college graduates, Mexico is a country south of the United States. “South” is down on maps.) Mexico, they believed, was most astonishing perilous. Don't drink the water, avoid ice. Salads were thought especially lethal. The Federales would kill you for sport, like squirrels. On any given day, you would probably be shot several times by bandidos. It was nonsense.

Then Vicente Fox left office, and Felipe Calderon came in. He declared war on the narcotraficantes. Why he did this, I don't know, since Mexico didn't have a drug problem. My guess is that Washington pushed him into it, but I don't know.

Unfortunately Mexico, which neither produces nor uses a lot of drugs, lies between Colombia, which produces vast amounts of drugs, and Americans, who want vast amounts of drugs. Washington does not want Americans to have vast amounts of drugs. Neither did it want to lose votes by imprisoning white users of drugs, such as college students, high-school students, professors, Congressmen, lawyers, and blue-collar guys driving bulldozers. The answer was to make Mexico fight Washington's wars.

But Mexico couldn't fight the narcos, because the United States was actually on the side of the traficantes. Does this sound counter-intuitive? What happened was that the narcos gave the Americans the huge quantites of drugs they wanted, and in return Americans gave the narcos huge amounts of money and military-grade weaponry: chiefly AKs,but also grenades and the occasional RPG. The Mexican police, lightly armed, barely paid, and utterly corrupt, could do nothing against these odds. The narcos had a further argument: Do what we say, and we will give you money. Otherwise, we will kill your family.

You figure it out.

Exclusive Report: Documents indicate ATF, FBI allowed Indiana ‘crime gun’ sales

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged an Indiana dealer’s cooperation in conducting straw purchases at the direction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Exclusive documents obtained by Gun Rights Examiner show the dealer cooperated with ATF by selling guns to straw purchasers, and that bureau management later asserted these guns were being traced to crimes.

From the confidential source providing the documents:

The dealer…was sent a "demand letter," based on the number of traces to him, which was retracted after his attorney pointed out they resulted from his cooperation with ATF. (Strangely, he got two voicemails from two different ATF people, both saying they were the head of the tracing operation).

Some of the straw men turned out to have felony convictions, the agents called the FBI background check system and fixed it so the transactions would be approved, something which may also have happened in Phoenix. (The attorney wasn't clear as to whether the guns were actually delivered to the gangs).

If the guns did not make it to criminal end users, why the demand for the reporting requirement was made remains unexplained: A demand letter, dated February 14, 2011 and signed by Charles J. Houser, Chief, National Tracing Center Division, informed the dealer he was required to provide acquisition and disposition information on firearms obtained from non-licensees, as well as to provide quarterly reports, based on ATF’s assessment that the dealer “had an unusually high number of traces of new crime guns with a relatively short ‘time-to-crime’…”

In a response dated March 10, 2011, attorney Brent R. Weil of Kightlinger and Gray, LLP, informed Houser:

Legislating Fascism – Six States & One City are Now Full-On-Fascist – with More to Come

Fascist states and city:

  • NEW YORK (Unanimously passed State Senate and Assembly; awaiting Governor’s signature)

States that are in the Fascist pipe-line:

Governors and State Legislatures who enact the Benefit Corporation Legislation either condone the transformation of America, or they are ignorant sheeple who are too dumb to hold elected office. Either way, it is up to us, the people, to educate them and find at least one representative in each state who will introduce new legislation to make Benefit Corporations and Sustainable Development/Agenda 21 null and void. Then, for those who do not support abolishing the Benefit Corporations and Sustainable Development/Agenda 21, we must organize and support the candidate who is running against them so that we can kick their butts out of office.

Police Misconduct NewsFeed Weekend Recap 09-03-11 to 09-05-11

Injustice Everywhere

  • The US 10th Circuit Court ruled that cops cannot use minor traffic violations as an excuse to break into homes without a warrant in a case involving a Murray County OK deputy and 2 Sulphur OK cops being sued for allegedly doing just that in addition to beating a man in the head with a baton, pepperspraying a woman and her 14-year-old son, then dragging their other son out of the bathroom at gunpoint all over a minor traffic violation he didn’t stop for. [0]
  • A Seattle WA police brutality lawsuit alleging a cop with a history of misconduct allegedly beat one man and tasered another then concocted a story about being assaulted even though he had no injuries illustrates the difficulties Seattle has in imposing discipline on cops even when there is a history of misconduct and how it results in more misconduct and legal bills for that city. [3]
  • Philadelphia PA police will be facing planned lawsuits that will allege that the police have a pattern of destroying people’s cell phones and arresting them for videotaping the police in public while the practice of recording police was recently deemed legal in a 1st Circuit Court ruling. [4]
  • 2 RCMP mounties in Newfoundland are accused of kicking a woman who broke down kicking and screaming after hearing her son was murdered then calling her a slut before throwing her in the back of a cruiser on assaulting an officer charges. [3]
  • US Border Patrol station in Port Angeles WA is accused of racial profiling… likely related to other allegations that the station expansion is a waste of taxpayer money because agents have nothing else to do in the remote area, a claim made by an agent who now says he’s suffered retaliation for reporting that. [3]
  • New York NY settles suit for $45k to man who was forcibly hauled out of his apartment & hospitalized on a mental health hold after 2 cops broke into his room and grabbed him because they thought him sitting in his 2nd floor window while smoking was a suicide attempt [0]
  • 2 Lubbock TX cops sued by deputy US Marshal alleging excessive force in struggle when they tried to enter his home. This one is questionable for a number of reasons, but since the plaintiff and defendants are all officers, it’s misconduct no matter which side is right. [0]
  • Arapahoe Co CO deputy arrested on domestic violence & menacing w/a gun charges in unspecified incident [1]
  • Volusia Co FL deputy suspended after arrested on domestic battery charge involving wife who suffered minor injuries [0]
  • Pontiac MI police chief was under investigation for allegedly falsifying documents on pal’s breath test when fired [1]
  • Evansville IN cop resigns in apparent deal to clear record after pulling woman over w/o cause & hitting on her [3]
  • Toronto CA undercover gang cops accused of leaving loaded shotgun at scene of home raid then failing to report it [3]
  • Paden City WV police chief arrested on 3 misd domestic battery charges for allegedly shoving wife, father-in-law & mother-in-law which left her with a leg laceration [0]
  • Pennsylvania state trooper convicted on misd assault charge over dispute that led to off-duty fight w/neighbor [0]
  • Jacksonville FL police lieutenant sentenced to 1yr jail for stealing $51k from police charity group [0]
