Though the Bible says that rich people getting into heaven is as likely as squeezing a 1500-pound mammal through a tiny hole, it’s worth noting that the vast majority of billionaires made their fortunes from scratch. It’s also worth noting how unbelievably lazy today’s kids can be. I’ve been hiring twenty-somethings for about twenty years now, and though they are getting more tech-savvy, their productivity keeps plummeting. I believe this is due to their snowballing sense of entitlement. Here are ten lessons I’ve learned after watching kids in their early twenties acting hyper-entitled:

In June 1861, Captain Nathaniel Gordon of Portland, Maine, stood trial in New York City for engaging in the slave trade – apprehended by the USS Mohican off the Congo with 900 slaves aboard the Erie. His trial revealed the financial base of the slave trade in New England, and the great difficulty in obtaining convictions. Like Lt. Dunnington below, famed Southern blockade running Captain John Newland Maffitt was busy capturing New England slavers off the coast of Cuba in his prewar US Navy days.========

New York Slave Traders’ Matured Arrangements:
“[The slave trade] at this time [did not] impact the slave population of the South; slaves were being conveyed mainly from the Congo to Cuba, not to Richmond or Charleston.
The first issue to be addressed was that of Gordon’s citizenship. [An] old Portland sea captain named Richard Crockett testified that he knew Gordon, as well as his parents and siblings, [and that he had] “never heard that Gordon was born anywhere but in Portland [Maine] till to-day I heard he was born in the Mediterranean.”
The next issue to be determined was the nationality of the Erie….proof that the Erie was an American-owned ship would clear the prosecution’s way for conviction. [A] witness was Mason Barney, a shipwright from Swansea, Massachusetts, who had built the Erie, but testified he had not seen the ship since he finished her in 1849 and sold her to New York businessman Ralph Post. And though he had had a financial interest in her until seven or eight years previous, he “didn’t know who owned her in August, 1860.” What no one involved in the trial seemed aware of – except perhaps Gordon – was that Ralph Post was one of the partners…who had turned over the Erie to Gordon in Havana [to sail for the Congo].
Lieutenant John W. Dunnington was the ranking officer who boarded the Erie, arrested Gordon and his crew, and ultimately commanded the Erie on the trip to Monrovia [to free the slaves]. [When] the Civil War commenced, Dunnington resigned his commission to return to his home in Kentucky and serve in the Confederate navy.
It is difficult to imagine how any honest, intelligent juror could have harbored a reasonable doubt [of Gordon’s guilt]. They stood seven to five for conviction, with no hope of a unanimous verdict. [Judge] Shipman…declared a mistrial, on June 30 , and dismissed the jury.
Horace Greeley’s [New York] Tribune was…caustic in its condemnation of the jury’s findings. “It is a remarkable fact that the slave-traders in [New York City] have matured their arrangements so thoroughly that they almost invariably manage to elude the meshes of the law. Now they bribe a jury, another time their counsel or agents spirit away a vital witness…The truth is, the United States in Chambers Street, under the influences which have been brought to bear here, have become thoroughly corrupt.

OWS Protesters Chant ‘Follow Those Kids!’ As Small Children Try To Go To School On Wall Street Tiny Tots, Some As Young As 4, Overwhelmed By Hostility
MOREThey were caught in the middle of madness.
Some grade school students were forced to walk a gauntlet of screaming “Occupy Wall Street” protesters just to get to school on Thursday.
It was a wild day in lower Manhattan for most everyone involved, including elementary school children who had to brave the mayhem just to get to class on the other side of Wall Street.

In the middle of thousands of protestors yelling and chanting — some kicking and screaming – CBS 2’s Emily Smith found little school kids trying to get to class. Nervous parents led them through the barriers on Wall Street. The NYPD helped funnel the children, anything to ease their fears while some protestors chanted “follow those kids!”
“These guys are terrorists, yelling at little kids,” one father said.
The bigger government gets, the more opportunity it affords for corruption. This is great news for crooks like left-wing congresscritter Jim Moran (D-VA), who made 90 stock trades one day after a private congressional economics meeting. You might want to put in a mouthguard before watching this so you don’t grind your teeth down:
There is only one solution to government corruption, and as McCain-Feingold made obvious, it isn’t more government. On the contrary, it is less government.
He also says the Republican presidential candidate could win in a landslide in 2012, warns that the Democrats are “character assassins” who will vilify their GOP rival, and predicts that the tea party will play a huge role in the outcome.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Horowitz, a former radical leftist who converted to conservatism in the 1980s, was asked about the Occupy Wall Street protesters and their ongoing demonstrations in Manhattan and elsewhere.
“They are idiots,” Horowitz declares.
“If you’ve watched their interviews you know that they’re morons. But what is behind them is ACORN, George Soros, and the core of the Democratic Party. That’s why we ought to pay attention to them.”
As to whether the Occupy movement has been spontaneous or manipulated by the organized left, Horowitz says: “I think it’s both. It’s like a chicken-and-an-egg question.
“Some of the motivation must have been that the Democrats have created this horrific situation in our education system, where you get what looks like a free ride because there are all these student loans, and it’s not a free ride.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus offers a blunt assessment of President Barack Obama’s presidency: “A fish rots at the head.”
During a speech to students at the University of Chicago on Wednesday, Priebus also said he’s working hard to return Obama to one of his previous jobs at the university, teaching constitutional law.
After campaigning on a platform of “hope and change” in 2008, Obama now is campaigning “on fear and division,” Priebus said during his speech at the university’s Harris School of Public Policy, as reported in the Chicago Tribune.
Priebus, a former state legislator who also headed the Wisconsin Republican Party and was elected RNC chairman this year, urged defeat of Obama next year for failing to make good on his promises to fix the ailing economy.
A little bit of “Dixie” was on hand in Centerburg, Saturday, Nov. 12, as the Ohio Historical Society marker honoring Centerburg native Brig. Gen. Daniel Harris Reynolds, C.S.A., was unveiled in the village park at the corner of Main and Clayton streets.=========
Members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Roswell S. Ripley Camp 1535, the group that sponsored the marker, were joined by members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Civil War re-enactors, and many members of the community. Also present were several members of the Reynolds family.
The marker honoring Reynolds is the fourth sponsored by the local SCV group and the third to honor one of the six Ohio-born generals that served the Southern cause during the Civil War, or as is known in the South, “The War for Southern Independence.” Other markers sponsored by the group include one marking the escape of Gen. John Hunt Morgan from the Ohio Penitentiary, located in Columbus’ arena district; one honoring Gen. Roswell S. Ripley, located in Worthington; and in Malta, a marker honors Gen. Otho Strahl, who was also a close friend of Gen. Reynolds.

With an election coming, it must have gotten through to Comrade Obama that he should stop being so conspicuously rude to our closest ally Britain. Arriving in Australia, the Moonbat Messiah gets carried away trying to make amends with the Queen’s representative to Down Under, practically shaking Governor-General Quentin Bryce’s hand loose from her wrist:
Her wrist must be awfully sore after all that pumping. If Obama were Slick Willie, he would have told her to put some ice on it.
One of the most effective weapons in protecting airlines passengers from another terrorist attack is not the federal agency created to do the job, but the passengers themselves, according to a new congressional report.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is an ineffective bureaucracy of nearly 140,000 workers that has failed to detect any major terrorist threat since September 11, 2001, including the Shoe Bomber, the Underwear Bomber, the Times Square Bomber and the Toner Cartridge Bomb Plot, according to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
“TSA's operations are outmoded—the primary threat is no longer hijacking, but explosives designed to take down an aircraft,” the report said.
“The U.S. has avoided another successful terrorist attack primarily through the actions of passengers and crew, foreign intelligence agencies, and Customs and Border Protection, along with good luck,” the report says.
“Today, TSA suffers from bureaucratic morass and mismanagement. The agency needs to properly refocus its resources on assessing threats and intelligence, instituting appropriate regulations, and auditing and adjusting security performance. TSA cannot do this effectively as a massive human resources agency,” the report said.
Rep. John Mica (R.-Fla.), chairman of the committee that authored the report and one of the agency’s chief critics in Congress, actually led the fight to create the TSA. The agency is responsible for screening airline passengers at airport security points, as well as analyzing intelligence and setting security standards. However, Mica says the agency is a failure.
“Unfortunately, TSA has lost its way,” Mica said Wednesday in releasing the report.
Dear Clients, Industry Colleagues and Friends of Barnhardt Capital Management,Heh . . .I just turned down a CNBC interview request.
Man, that felt FANTASTIC.========
It is with regret and unflinching moral certainty that I announce that Barnhardt Capital Management has ceased operations. After six years of operating as an independent introducing brokerage, and eight years of employment as a broker before that, I found myself, this morning, for the first time since I was 20 years old, watching the futures and options markets open not as a participant, but as a mere spectator.
The reason for my decision to pull the plug was excruciatingly simple: I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets – because they are not. And this goes not just for my clients, but for every futures and options account in the United States. The entire system has been utterly destroyed by the MF Global collapse. Given this sad reality, I could not in good conscience take one more step as a commodity broker, soliciting trades that I knew were unsafe or holding funds that I knew to be in jeopardy.
The futures markets are very highly-leveraged and thus require an exceptionally firm base upon which to function. That base was the sacrosanct segregation of customer funds from clearing firm capital, with additional emergency financial backing provided by the exchanges themselves. Up until a few weeks ago, that base existed, and had worked flawlessly. Firms came and went, with some imploding in spectacular fashion. Whenever a firm failure happened, the customer funds were intact and the exchanges would step in to backstop everything and keep customers 100% liquid – even as their clearing firm collapsed and was quickly replaced by another firm within the system.
Everything changed just a few short weeks ago. A firm, led by a crony of the Obama regime, stole all of the non-margined cash held by customers of his firm. Let’s not sugar-coat this or make this crime seem “complex” and “abstract” by drowning ourselves in six-dollar words and uber-technical jargon. Jon Corzine STOLE the customer cash at MF Global. Knowing Jon Corzine, and knowing the abject lawlessness and contempt for humanity of the Marxist Obama regime and its cronies, this is not really a surprise. What was a surprise was the reaction of the exchanges and regulators. Their reaction has been to take a bad situation and make it orders of magnitude worse. Specifically, they froze customers out of their accounts WHILE THE MARKETS CONTINUED TO TRADE, refusing to even allow them to liquidate. This is unfathomable. The risk exposure precedent that has been set is completely intolerable and has destroyed the entire industry paradigm. No informed person can continue to engage these markets, and no moral person can continue to broker or facilitate customer engagement in what is now a massive game of Russian Roulette.I have learned over the last week that MF Global is almost certainly the mere tip of the iceberg. There is massive industry-wide exposure to European sovereign junk debt. While other firms may not be as heavily leveraged as Corzine had MFG leveraged, and it is now thought that MFG’s leverage may have been in excess of 100:1, they are still suicidally leveraged and will likely stand massive, unmeetable collateral calls in the coming days and weeks as Europe inevitably collapses. I now suspect that the reason the Chicago Mercantile Exchange did not immediately step in to backstop the MFG implosion was because they knew and know that if they backstopped MFG, they would then be expected to backstop all of the other firms in the system when the failures began to cascade – and there simply isn’t that much money in the entire system. In short, the problem is a SYSTEMIC problem, not merely isolated to one firm.
Perhaps the most ominous dynamic that I have yet heard of in regards to this mess is that of the risk of potential CLAWBACK actions. For those who do not know, “clawback” is the process by which a bankruptcy trustee is legally permitted to re-seize assets that left a bankrupt entity in the time period immediately preceding the entity’s collapse. So, using the MF Global customers as an example, any funds that were withdrawn from MFG accounts in the run-up to the collapse, either because of suspicions the customer may have had about MFG from, say, watching the company’s bond yields rise sharply, or from purely organic day-to-day withdrawls, the bankruptcy trustee COULD initiate action to “clawback” those funds. As a hedge broker, this makes my blood run cold. Generally, as the markets move in favor of a hedge position and equity builds in a client’s account, that excess equity is sent back to the customer who then uses that equity to offset cash market transactions OR to pay down a revolving line of credit. Even the possibility that a customer could be penalized and additionally raped AGAIN via a clawback action after already having their customer funds stolen is simply villainous. While there has been no open indication of clawback actions being initiated by the MF Global trustee, I have been told that it is a possibility.
And so, to the very unpleasant crux of the matter. The futures and options markets are no longer viable. It is my recommendation that ALL customers withdraw from all of the markets as soon as possible so that they have the best chance of protecting themselves and their equity. The system is no longer functioning with integrity and is suicidally risk-laden. The rule of law is non-existent, instead replaced with godless, criminal political cronyism.
Remember, derivatives contracts are NOT NECESSARY in the commodities markets. The cash commodity itself is the underlying reality and is not dependent on the futures or options markets. Many people seem to have gotten that backwards over the past decades. From Abel the animal husbandman up until the year 1964, there were no cattle futures contracts at all, and no options contracts until 1984, and yet the cash cattle markets got along just fine.
Finally, I will not, under any circumstance, consider reforming and re-opening Barnhardt Capital Management, or any other iteration of a brokerage business, until Barack Obama has been removed from office AND the government of the United States has been sufficiently reformed and repopulated so as to engender my total and complete confidence in the government, its adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law, and in its competent and just regulatory oversight of any commodities markets that may reform. So long as the government remains criminal, it would serve no purpose whatsoever to attempt to rebuild the futures industry or my firm, because in a lawless environment, the same thievery and fraud would simply happen again, and the criminals would go unpunished, sheltered by the criminal oligarchy.
To my clients, who literally TO THE MAN agreed with my assessment of the situation, and were relieved to be exiting the markets, and many whom I now suspect stayed in the markets as long as they did only out of personal loyalty to me, I can only say thank you for the honor and pleasure of serving you over these last years, with some of my clients having been with me for over twelve years. I will continue to blog at Barnhardt.biz, which will be subtly re-skinned soon, and will continue my cattle marketing consultation business. I will still be here in the office, answering my phones, with the same phone numbers. Alas, my retirement came a few years earlier than I had anticipated, but there was no possible way to continue given the inevitability of the collapse of the global financial markets, the overthrow of our government, and the resulting collapse in the rule of law.
As for me, I can only echo the words of David:
“This is the Lord’s doing; and it is wonderful in our eyes.”
With Best Regards-
ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, NOVEMBER 16 - A Crusader inscription in Arabic dating from 1229 has been found and deciphered for the first time in the history of Middle Eastern archaeological studies by an Israeli specialist, who has been telling local media about the exceptional discovery in recent days. The inscription, which has dimensions of 50 by 60 centimetres, was set in to a building in the region of Tel Aviv, but is now confirmed to have come from the old walls of the fortified port of Jaffa. Professor Moshe Sharon, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is the man who classified and deciphered the inscription, identifying a reference in Arabic characters to "Frederick II, King of Jerusalem" and the indication of the date: "Year 1229 of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus the Messiah". "It is an unprecedented find," Professor Sharon said, "because no Crusader inscription in Arabic had been found anywhere in the Middle East until now". The reference to Frederick II fits perfectly with the inscription's place of origin. The Swabian sovereign, who was known as "stupor mundi" to the subjects of his favoured southern Italy, was responsible for the sixth Crusade, which took place between 1228 and 1229. The Crusade was proclaimed in defiance of Pope Gregory IX, who had recently excommunicated Frederick, and was aimed at reconquering Jerusalem and the Holy Lands (which had been wrestled from Christian hands by Saladin) from the Arab Muslims.
The mission passed through Jaffa, where Frederick occupied a position and had the old walls strengthened. It was also here that he managed, almost without fighting, to reach a deal with the Sultan of Egypt that returned temporary control of Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem, and their surrounding areas, to the "Franks". The extradition was refused on the grounds that Wright is a Portuguese citizen.
He was captured near Lisbon in September after more than 40 years on the run. The FBI tracked him down.
The US wanted him back to serve the rest of his 15- to 30-year sentence for a 1962 murder.
Wright escaped from a New Jersey prison in 1970 and hijacked a US airliner two years later.
"The Lisbon appeals court ruled that he had Portuguese citizenship and will not be extradited," his lawyer, Manuel Luis Ferreira, told the French news agency AFP.
Mr Ferreira also said the statute of limitations had expired.

Couple hides recording device on developmentally disabled daughter to prove teacher, school aide were bullying her
'Are you that damn dumb? Are you that dumb?', aide is recorded saying
A couple raising a 14-year-old developmentally disabled student say they hid a recording device on the girl to prove a teacher and school aide were bullying her, and the audio and subsequent investigations have led to a lawsuit, the aide's resignation and disciplinary action for the teacher.
The girl's mother and the woman's longtime boyfriend said in court documents that they complained about the mental and emotional abuse to school officials in the Miami Trace district, about 30 miles southwest of Columbus, and then secretly recorded instructors' comments for four days last spring after their claims were rebuffed.
In the recording, voices identified as aide Kelly Chaffins and teacher Christie Wilt are heard questioning the girl's weight and how active she is and making derogatory comments about her character and the character of her mother and the boyfriend.
"Are you that damn dumb? Are you that dumb?" Chaffins said. "Oh, my God. You are such a liar. ... You told me you don't know. It's no wonder you don't have friends. No wonder nobody likes you. Because you lie, cheat ... steal."
In another instance, Wilt apparently talks to the girl about the results of a test before evaluating it. "You know what, just keep it," she said. "You failed it. I know it. I don't need your test to grade. You failed it."
In another recording, Chaffins asks the girl if she does chores. When the girl says no, Chaffins responds "Don't you find that a little ridiculous? ... How you gonna do a job? ...
"You should be embarrassed. I just am in awe. Makes you worthless."
Nearly a century ago, progressive socialists set out to take over America. One of the ways they planned to accomplish this was to change the face of the public school system. Led by American psychologist and socialist John Dewey, the foundations of the education system began to change.
John Dewey was instrumental in the philosophical changes that took place in the American education system starting back in the 1920s. Dewey and others believed that the school system was the perfect place to reshape the nation. Dewey often said that if you gave him your kids for seven hours a day that he could change the nation. He taught that the schools should be used to teach children basic socialist ideals and that after two to three generations, those ideals planted in the youth would present a culture in America that could lead to a socialist government.
Two generations after Dewey launched his revision of the American educational system, the nation saw the early socialist teachings in the nationwide protests in the 1960s. It was a generation that started rejecting the conservative Christian values of their parents. They succeeded in removing the Bible and prayer from the public schools. Known as the generation of peace and love, they actually promoted anti-American philosophies.
Three generations later, the products of the socialist public education system are holding political offices and successfully changing the American way of life. If you look at the majority of the people involved in the Occupy movements around the country, they are under the age of forty and I would bet that over ninety percent of them are products of the public schools.
They have not been taught the true history of America and what this country was built upon. They have been taught that capitalism, free enterprise and patriotism are actually harmful to our nation and the people. They don’t realize that these are the very things that made our nation great and provided the foundation for the lifestyles that they take for granted.
Instead of the being taught what America was, they are being taught what socialists want America to be. They’ve been taught to blame those that have worked hard and succeeded in business. They’ve been taught that instead of working hard to make themselves successful that they are entitled to certain things and that it is the responsibility of the government to take care of them.
The public school’s three generations of brainwashing is directly responsible for the uprising against the so-called one percent and the demand that they distribute their wealth and give it to those that have no descent work ethic to provide for themselves.
Congratulations Mr. Dewey, the Occupy Wall Street movement is a direct result of your efforts to brainwash several generations of Americans to usher in a truly socialistic society.

A federal magistrate judge refused to grant bail on Wednesday to four retired Georgia men jailed on charges linked to an alleged plot to bomb government buildings and spread a lethal biological toxin along major U.S. highways.
Ruling from the bench, U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Cole said "there was too much evidence that the defendants posed a danger to their communities" to free them while they await trial.
Samuel J. Crump, 68, and Ray H. Adams, 65, are charged with conspiring and attempting to produce the biological toxin ricin, which can be fatal if ingested or inhaled. They could receive life sentences if convicted.
Frederick Thomas, 73, and Emory Dan Roberts, 67, are charged with conspiring to possess an unregistered explosive device and possession of an unregistered silencer, and face a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
All four men, who are accused of being part of a fringe domestic militia group, have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Defense attorneys said they would appeal Cole's ruling.
Another freshman Representative, Rob Woodall (R-GA), noted that the right to carry a concealed firearm is already protected by the Second Amendment.“If the Second Amendment protects my rights to carry my concealed weapon from state to state to state, I don’t need another federal law,” Rep. Woodall said. He went on to remind his colleagues of the original intent of the right to keep and bear arms.“I don’t believe the Second Amendment was put in the Bill of Rights to allow me to shoot targets [or] hunt for deer and turkey. I think the Second Amendment was put in the Bill of Rights so that I could defend my freedom against an overbearing federal government.”========
The House passed national concealed carry reciprocity legislation on Wednesday evening by a vote of 272-154.The bill, H.R. 822, is intended to allow persons who hold a concealed carry permit from one state to also carry anywhere in the country, with the exception of Illinois and Washington, D.C.Though the bill passed by a wide margin, it was not without controversy on the pro-gun side of the debate. In previous alerts, GOA has pointed out several flaws in the legislation:
- It forces Vermont residents (who do not need a permit to carry) to either obtain an out-of-state permit or to push their state to pass a more restrictive concealed carry law than it now enjoys;
- By requiring permits for reciprocity, the bill undermines efforts at the state level to pass constitutional carry (i.e., Vermont-style carry);
- In restrictive “may issue” states, the bill allows for non-residents to carry firearms in the state while most residents would still be prohibited, and;
- The bill is yet another example of Congress distorting of the Constitution’s Commerce Clause.Representative Justin Amash (R-MI), who voted against the bill, addressed this last point in a statement, calling H.R. 822 “an unconstitutional bill that improperly applies the Commerce Clause to concealed carry licensing.”Another freshman Representative, Rob Woodall (R-GA), noted that the right to carry a concealed firearm is already protected by the Second Amendment.“If the Second Amendment protects my rights to carry my concealed weapon from state to state to state, I don’t need another federal law,” Rep. Woodall said. He went on to remind his colleagues of the original intent of the right to keep and bear arms.“I don’t believe the Second Amendment was put in the Bill of Rights to allow me to shoot targets [or] hunt for deer and turkey. I think the Second Amendment was put in the Bill of Rights so that I could defend my freedom against an overbearing federal government.”Anti-gun Amendment PassesOne extremely troubling amendment to the bill was slipped in on a voice vote. Sponsored by Republican David Reichert (“C” rated by GOA), the amendment instructs the Government Accounting Office to:“Conduct a study of the ability of State and local law enforcement authorities to verify the validity of licenses or permits, issued by other States, to carry a concealed firearm.”Nowhere in the Constitution is there even a hint of authority for the federal government to “study” the exercising of a right. Even worse, you can be sure that anti-gunners will use any excuse, including this study, to push for some type of national carry license. The bill now heads to the Senate, where GOA is already working with key Senators to address ALL of the problems with the bill. GOA is also working with Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) on legislation, H.R. 2900, that takes a constitutional approach to concealed carry recognition. You can click here to send you own Representative a message urging him or her to become a cosponsor of H.R. 2900.
