An Afghan police commando's story – video

On 16 April 2012 the Taliban launched their most ambitious ever attack on Kabul, targeting parliament and the diplomatic enclave. The assault caught the city by surprise, but so did the response of Afghanistan's security forces, who for perhaps the first time ever were fully in charge of the fight against the insurgents.

When multi-media project Kabul: A City At Work got exclusive access to police commando Hamidullah – captured on camera in his bloodied combat fatigues – he became the face of Afghan heroism. This is his story …

    That was an excellent video!

I wanted to post it on my own web site, but - - - ?

Ever since Google took over the Blogger server, NOTHING works right.

I reckon it's because I'm using Windows XP, and everything now is switching over to support Windows 7, because Blogger no longer supports the Mozilla Firefox browser or the Internet Explorer 8 browser.

I can't get the Internet Explorer 9 browser because that is only for Windows 7 operating platforms.

Instead, Google has set it up so that you MUST use the Google Chrome browser.

Anyway, the problem I'm having when trying to compose a blog post is primarily spacing.

I just can't get it correct.

I thought I had it figured out, but this video embedding code from the Guardian web site puts waaaay too much space at the beginning, so the post just looks too awkward and unsightly.

Well, I'll just have to keep on experimenting until I find a method that works.

But, for now, I ain't gonna bother with posting this video, even though it's really grrrrr-REAT!!!

    Thank you.

  2. Blogger no longer supports the Mozilla Firefox browser

    Thanks.

Something else is wrong John, because I use Firefox. Now, I'm running Watefox which is supposed to be better than regular Firefox.

  3. I can't use Waterfox because it's for 64 bits, and my Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is only 32 bits.

Yes, something is weird about all this.

Blogger says they no longer support Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

I use Google Chrome to compose a post, and then use Mozilla Firefox to adjust the spacing between paragraphs and sentences.

Can you believe all that rigamarole?

And sometimes, even that won't work like I want it to!

  4. Blogger says they no longer support Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

Come to think of it, I get that on Dixie's old laptop which is XP, but I don't have any trouble like you, unless something has recently changed.

  5. Well, what has recently changed is Blogger has switched over to a "new version of Blogger", which I haven't quite figured out.

I wish they'd left well enough alone.

  6. Lord knows, I do. Why in the hell do they have to change something that's working? Oh, they must be with the government......
