A federal appeals court says illegal immigrants don't have a right to own firearms under the U.S. Constitution.
Emmanuel Huitron-Guizar of Wyoming pleaded guilty to being an illegal immigrant in possession of firearms after his arrest last year. He was ordered held by immigration authorities at the Natrona County Detention Center in Wyoming.
An attorney for Huitron-Guizar appealed the case, saying illegal immigrants are not excluded from possessing firearms like felons and people who are mentally ill, and should have the same rights as U.S. citizens to buy a gun for hunting and protection.

ReplyDeleteRights are unalienable. They are an attribute of mans' being and pre-exist both government and law.
Our founders understood such rights and insisted that certain rights SHALL NOT be infringed.
While I truly want the illegals identified and deported, I support their right to defend their lives against aggression ... by any means necessary, including firearms.
You can't call rights acknowledged for one group of men 'unalienable', and then attempt to cleave them from another.

ReplyDeleteIllegal aliens do not have the same protections under the Constitution as I do. They are not a citizen no an legal alien, so why should they receive the same rights as me?

DeleteA man does not 'receive rights' from governments. At best he gets a grant of certain protections, priviledges and immunities.
As Brock comments below, I am following the logic of Locke, Jefferson, and Bastiat.
I am not extending protections to illegals, merely acknowledging that as men they have certain unalienable rights. Among those are life ...
