Citizen calls out Tennessee governor’s sharia appointment

Via Cousin Bill

Here’s one way citizens can get active. via Letter: Shariah threat is real » The Commercial Appeal.

The new appointee to Gov. Bill Haslam’s Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development is Samar Ali, a devout Muslim. Her credentials reach deeply into Islamic Shariah law, most troubling of which is her former position in the Hogan Lovells international law firm, which has had in its employ such “eminent Shariah scholars” as the Muslim Brotherhood’s Sheikh al-Qaradawi, an extremist radical Muslim.

For what purpose are Shariah finance laws needed within Tennessee or American government? Shariah is exclusionary, radical and contrary to American law and is ethnically driven. Let Muslims comply with our laws and our Constitution, not the other way around. They are in America.

Additionally, is Ali to impose Shariah law on the state departments of Children’s Services or Safety and Homeland Security, for which the governor has given her the status of “nongovernmental partner”? The good governor has alienated his loyal constituents who put him in office.

I am no longer one of those constituents.

Bravo. Put elected officials on notice. Call them out in a professional, informed, fact-based manner. Put them on notice. Particularly when they double down on sharia as Haslam has:
