I Forgive You and My Apologies

Via Nancy

A time of reflection is needed for me as a veteran of the State’s war against Iraq considering we can now celebrate the official one year anniversary of American forces "pulling out". Of course, many of you reading this know there is an embassy in Baghdad the size of the Vatican, hundreds of advisors, and thousands more mercenaries to maintain its Mesopotamian outpost. Reflecting on one of the most blatant atrocities in all of history, I have realized I need to forgive those who attempted to kill me and formally apologize to the Iraqi people.

First, let it be said that I now fully understand why they tried to kill us. We patrolled your streets in 68-ton rolling death-creator (M1A1 Tank) looking for those deemed "insurgents" or in reality simply opposed to us doing this sort of thing. We sat and spied on their homes through my main gun’s sight while they went about your daily business in fear; hoping we wouldn’t pull the trigger. I can also only imagine being on the other side a gargantuan turret traversing, looking for something to murder. Just like the sounds of drone’s flying above children in Pakistan cause them to "scream in terror", so did the sounds of our tanks. Our tank tracks ruined their farm and grazing lands simply because of our want to take a short cut to an over watch position. Either as a result of our unwelcome presence and the destruction of life and property that necessarily follows it or the events that I have just described; they placed an improvised explosive device (IED) between our old tank tracks in the middle of the desert.

During late January 2007 my tank and our wing tank left our position where we provided over watch for a supply route that was a hotspot for IED placement. Fearing we would hit yet another IED on this road, we took alternative route through the desert back to return to our command operating post for re-supply. However, we were silly enough to follow our old tracks that we had left a month ago. They were smart enough to know that we’d travel back through this area. The first tank passed through a cut in a line of hills and we followed. The 500-lbs bomb detonated, destroyed my tank, and seriously injured everyone but me. Every marine who witnessed the aftermath the destruction had no idea how we made it out alive. Of course, I was angry with the "Other" for a long time and was ready to re-enlist for the slaughterhouse of Afghanistan. Luckily, I had a change of heart and I now understand why they tried to kill us. I forgive them. If some invading force came into my backyard I, like every other American, would respond in a similar manner.

  1. And now you get just a small idea of what the Southerners were fighting for in 1861-65! Yankees never change, they are the Vikings of yesterday. (Going off a vighting/viking.) They pillage, rape and conquer. To them Southerners are just another people to be conquered, whic they did.

It was no different with the Japanese in WWII. FDR forced the Japanese to attack, very similar to how Lincoln forced the South Carolinians to fire on Fort Sumter. WWI was a setup also, as was the Spanish American War. Vietnam was much like Iraq and Afghanistan. Korea, that was a UN decision that was initiated by the US. You guess for what reasons.

In all the instances above the united states had ONE main reason to want war with all these countries, plus Libya today and Syria, and they want war with Iran. But it's all still due to ONE common denominator. Does anyone know what it is?

btw-- Lincoln's War was for the exact same reasons.

I hate to see people from here, this country go to war for the rich man, to fight his battles for control of this earth. I hate it even worse when our people are so ignorant and propagandized they can't tell truth from fiction and believe the lies they are told, all just because they *THINK* they are being patriotic. (Patriotic has little to NOTHING to do with joining the military. The answer may surprise you.) Yet out of your ignorance you try and do the right things. I can forgive you for the wrongs you do, for the wrongs you do another people that meant you no harm, except to protect themselves from YOUR tyranny! But I cannot forget what you done to others that did not deserve what you done to them! I cannot let you forget that, lest you might do the same things again!

I am sorry for your injuries, but in retrospect; Don't you think YOU asked for them? In which case; Didn't you deserve the punishment you got?

I just hope and pray you can use your injuries in a way that sets an example to others, leading the way, showing, things are not as they appear. Wars are not fought over righteousness and good, but over greed, money, power and other evils. And most of all, it is not patriotic, not at all, to support such wars!

All the above can also be apoplied to the North and Lincoln's War against my country! The usa is NOT my country, North Carolina is!

If you wanna know what being a patriot is, I've wrote the article to educate yourself with. You are a patriot to your father's land, your father's estate and state. NOT to a government that dictates what your state is and is NOT!

  2. I don't know who the fellar is in the article, or where he lives. But if he truly wants to make a difference and needs to learn about war, I highly recommend this book, "War is A Racket", By Maj General Smedley Butler. It is less than 100 pages and cheap from Amazon, about 6 or 7 bux. Gen Butler will get anyone off to the right start that really wants to start understanding the truth about the US military machine and war.

Brock, my article on allegiance and patriotism may be a good article for you. I did get some good comments on it when I first posted it...

  3. Excellent video! Thank You, as I never saw that before. Rest assured you will now get a few more hits on that video.

You have a fantastic website (with a couple of small glitches). I'm trying to funnel more people over this way but it takes time.

I'll send you my article email.
