16 Manly Last Words

We’ve always been intrigued by the last words of others. What did a person use his final mortal breaths to utter? What were they thinking about? Were they scared as they glimpsed the great beyond? Or did they brace up and stoically give up the ghost?

The following 16 men looked death in the eye and embraced whatever came next.

Russian Anti-Terror Troops Arrive in Syria

Via III Percent Patriots

A Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was "a bomb" certain to have serious repercussions.

Russia, one of President Bashar al-Assad's strongest allies despite international condemnation of the government's violent crackdown on the country's uprising, has repeatedly blocked the United Nations Security Council's attempts to halt the violence, accusing the U.S. and its allies of trying to start another war.

Now the Russian Black Sea fleet's Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency. The Russian news reports did not elaborate on the Russian troops' mission in Syria or if they are expected to leave the port.

The presence of Russian troops in Syria could be a "pretty obvious" show of support to the regime, according to Russian security expert Mark Galeotti.

"No one thinks of the Russians as anything but Assad's last friends," said Galeotti, professor of global affairs at New York University.

Postman: Ayers family put 'foreigner' Obama through school

Did the parents of former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers help finance Barack Obama’s Harvard education?

Did Ayers’ mother believe Obama was a foreign student?

And was the young Obama convinced at the time – long before he even entered politics – that he was going to become president of the United States?

A retired U.S. Postal Service carrier who delivered mail to Tom and Mary Ayers in a Chicago suburb in the late 1980s and early 1990s and claims to have met Obama in front of the Ayers home emphatically says yes to all three questions.

Allen Hulton, who was commended for 39 years of honorable service with the USPS, has given a sworn affidavit to investigators commissioned by Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio to determine whether Obama is eligible for Arizona’s 2012 election ballot. Hulton has recorded about three hours of video interviews with WND.

The fix is in at Breitbart

Editor: We won't pursue eligibility
'To my knowledge, there's no evidence. I just don't believe it

One of the new executives for Breitbart.com, reorganized quickly after the sudden death March 1 of founder and conservative icon Andrew Breitbart, says the issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility, or lack thereof, simply doesn’t matter.

“To my knowledge, there’s no evidence. I just don’t believe it,” Ben Shapiro, newly named editor-at-large for Breitbart.com, told Mark Gillar during an interview on his BlogTalkRadio program.

Heil Hollywood: The Los Angeles bunker from which Hitler planned to run Nazi empire after the war

Via Theo Spark

It sounds like the bizzare script of a Hollywood B-movie.

In a parallel universe the Nazis have won the war, Adolf Hitler moves to LA where he mingles with the stars of the silver screen while running his evil empire from a luxurious ranch deep in the LA hills.

But during the 1930s, American sympathisers were so confident this exact scenario was actually going happen they spent millions building a deluxe compound ready for their fuhrer's imminent arrival.

Equipped with a diesel power plant, 375,000 gallon concrete water tank , giant meat locker, 22 bedrooms and even a bomb shelter, the heavily guarded estate was home to a community of Hollywood fascists who hoped to ride out the war there.

There were further plans to build five libraries, a swimming pool, several dining rooms and a gymnasium with money from Germany.

72% of Likely U.S. Voters believe voters should be required to show photo ID

But our Marxist leaders will tell us what's good for us.

In actuality there is a ruckus but it is coming mainly from Democrat Party leadership in its quest to foment class warfare to be used as a political tool!

Is there something wrong with having to prove that you are who you say you are to participate in the voting process? I don't think so and neither do the vast majority of Americans!

To hear Democrat talking heads tell it, however, the concept of requiring voter ID is discriminatory, racist and a tool of the Republican Party designed to specifically target traditional Democrat voters in an attempt to keep them away from the polls.

In actuality voter ID, if implemented, would be the legal way to limit voting to those entitled to participate.

Urgent! Watch out for and report yawners

A document titled "Terrorism Awareness and Prevention" that's being passed out by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security is encouraging employees of federal, state and local agencies to identify "unusual or suspicious activities." That sounds reasonable. But what kind of activities? "Exaggerated yawning when engaged in conversation," "glances," a "cold penetrating stare," and "goose bumps," apparently, are all red flags that one could be face-to-face with a terrorist. This might be the loosest definition of suspicious activities since the FBI's Communities Against Terrorism program encouraged businesses to consider customers who "always pay in cash" as possible terrorists.

Chicago Cops Arrest Local Journalists: ‘Your First Amendment Rights Can Be Terminated’

Via Don

Chicago police arrested WGN reporter Dan Ponce and WMAQ photographer Donte Williams Saturday, saying that they were “creating a scene” outside of Mount Sinai hospital.

The two were covering the fatal shooting of a six-year old girl and, though they were already across the street, the officer demanded they go another street over.

“F*** news affairs, I don’t care about news affairs. Forget news affairs,” he said.

When the journalists spoke to their rights, the officer replied, “Your first amendment rights can be terminated, if you’re creating a scene, or whatever. Your first amendment rights have limitations.”

After the journalists responded, “how have we created a scene? This is what we do for a living,” the officer replied, “Your presence is creating a scene.”

GOA Action Alert: Begich-Manchin Has One Purpose: To keep the Senate Gavel in the hands of Harry Reid

Your e-mails have turned the Senate around in the battle to protect “constitutional carry” states in federal reciprocity legislation.

First of all, please realize the reason we’re fighting so strenuously for the Thune-Vitter language. At stake in this fight is the right of Americans to carry concealed weapons from state to state WITHOUT being registered … WITHOUT getting a permit or license … and WITHOUT being registered like sex offenders.

The Thune-Vitter language will guarantee your right -- if you live in a “constitutional carry” state -- to freely carry firearms as protected by the Second Amendment.

But make no mistake about it: The ONLY reason for the Begich-Manchin-Baucus bill -– sponsored by three anti-gun Democrats –- is to keep the Senate gavel in Harry Reid’s hands.

S. 2188 would do this by allowing anti-gun Democrats to pretend to care about the Second Amendment, while pushing legislation which would deter additional states from passing “constitutional carry” legislation.

Think about it: Both Begich and Manchin HAVE YET TO CAST A PRO-GUN VOTE during this Congress!

Manchin has NEVER cast a pro-gun vote while he’s been in the Senate. And Begich has cast anti-gun votes 82% of the time since joining the Senate in 2009. Plus, he is a former member of the anti-gun Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which is headed by the extremist New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The other Democrat on S. 2188, Montana Sen. Max Baucus, has a D- rating with GOA.

So why would we trust these anti-gun Senators to do the right thing on gun legislation? The answer is: “We shouldn’t!”

S. 2188 is just an attempt to get cover for their abysmal Second Amendment voting records. Consider this:

* They didn’t vote our way when we urged them to vote against Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

* They didn’t vote with us when we pleaded with them to oppose the anti-gun ObamaCare legislation, which enables the BATFE and FBI to troll through the health care database for gun owners who would be barred from exercising their Second Amendment rights because of their medical information. Nor did they vote our way when we asked them to support a repeal of this obnoxious legislation last year.

* And remember the DISCLOSE Act from a couple of years ago? Begich and Baucus voted to place severe and unconstitutional limits on GOA’s ability to hold individual congressmen accountable in the weeks leading up to an election. (Manchin wasn’t in the Senate yet.)

* They also opposed a repeal of the Veterans Disarmament Act -- legislation that has legalized a practice (begun by Bill Clinton) which has disarmed more than 150,000 military veterans for ailments like PTSD.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. These anti-gun, compromising Senators have stabbed us in the back repeatedly. Although now that they’ve turned off a good part of their electorate, they are trying to appear pro-gun.

But they can’t even claim they’re engaged in compromise to help this legislation pass muster, because the much stronger Thune language ALREADY RECEIVED AN OVERWHELMING VOTE MARGIN in 2009!!!

And because of the pro-gun gains made in the 2010 elections, there should be more than 62 Senators who will support the Thune language -- which means we can easily overcome a filibuster.

This just seems like a bald-faced attempt to keep Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in power. And let’s face it, when Reid’s running the Senate, our liberties are in danger. (Consider just some of the anti-gun votes listed above that Senator Reid has pushed.)

One more thing: The Begich-Manchin bill will discourage states from enacting “constitutional carry” legislation.

After all, if activists in states considering “constitutional carry” believe they will have to get a license anyway –- because of this enormous “carrot” the anti-gun Democrats are holding out for them -– what incentive do they have to walk the halls of the state capitol, to call their legislators and testify in favor of “constitutional carry.”

The answer is: “None.”

As we write this, the Thune-Vitter bill already has 17 sponsors and cosponsors. The anti-gun Begich-Manchin bill is stuck at three anti-gun Democrats.

But we need to keep the pressure on.

ACTION: Contact your Senators. Urge them to support the Thune-Vitter firearms reciprocity bill and oppose the Begich-Manchin anti-gun bill.

North Carolina Guns at Appomattox

Via Bernhard

“The most pathetic, the most tragic, the most heroic, the grandest figure of all the ages is the Confederate soldier at Appomattox. Over his vision comes the scene of the smouldering ruins of his boyhood home. His land is drenched in blood. An old widowed mother weeps for his father who gave his life for a lost cause and prays for her son’s return.

A pallid and sickened wife, over-wrought and over-worked struggles in vain for bread, the hunger-cry of his starving children maddens his brain, the shot-torn, lifeless form of his brother lies piled unburied in the trenches behind him; half-starved, half-naked, foot-sore and emaciated he stands.

A far-away look is on his face, tears furrow his powder-stained, dusty cheeks, but there is the light of battle in his eye, the fire of a great unconquerable principle within his heart. Resolute and undaunted, he turns about and with bitter protests at being surrendered, begs his old commander to lead him back into battle, back to the field of blood and death: pleading he stands as the life-blood of the Confederacy ebbs away in the smoke of the North Carolina guns at Appomattox.

To the Confederate soldier North Carolina has erected a great monument in the Capitol Square at Raleigh. The State has also placed a monument at Appomattox which bears on the north side this inscription:

“Last at Appomattox.

At this place the North Carolina Brigade of Brigadier-General W.R. Cox of Grimes’ Division Fired the Last Volley, 9 April, 1865. Major-General Bryan Grimes of North Carolina Planned the Last Battle Fought by the Army of Northern Virginia and Commanded the Infantry Engaged Therein, the Greater Part of Whom Were North Carolinians.

This Stone is Erected by the Authority of the General Assembly of North Carolina, In Grateful and Perpetual Memory of the Valor, Endurance, and Patriotism of Her Sons Who Followed With Unshaken Fidelity the Fortunes of the Confederacy to This Closing Scene, Faithful to the End. Erected 9 April, 1905”

March 1863 -- The Salisbury Bread Riot

Via Southern Nationalist Network

On the 18th of March, 1863, the streets of Salisbury, North Carolina, were invaded by a group of about 50 determined local women, identified only as wives and mothers of Confederate soldiers. The women believed that local merchants had been profiteering by raising the prices of necessary foods and demanded that the merchants sell these goods at government prices. When the merchants refused the women broke down one shop door with hatchets and threatened other storekeepers. What a local newspaper described as the "Female Raid" netted the women twenty three barrels of flour as well as quantities of molasses, salt, and even twenty dollars in cash.
