Terminal Ballistics Research

Release 1. .224 To 7mm calibers

The TBR Knowledge base release 1. is the first half of our research findings to be published online. The second volume covers the .30 to .458 calibers along with Proprietary cartridge designs and will be published live in due course.

Introduction

The information you are about to read is not an ordinary, general overview of hunting cartridges. This Knowledge base is the culmination of 20 years intensive field research and as new bullet designs emerge, this research continues. The data base on this website is and will be updated accordingly.

As of 2011, over 7000 head of game were killed and autopsied for the initial body of work. To obtain a set of results, animals were taken at differing ranges, differing shot placement and angles. The tests then had to be retaken several times with each cartridge and each bullet to ensure repeatable results. Naturally, while testing so many cartridges over so many years, firearms expertise occurred by attrition.

In 2007, based on demand, we formed the company Terminal Ballistics Research ltd. TBR has three main divisions including rifle accurizing services, guided and tutorial hunting and the research division which you are now viewing.

Essentially, the goal of our hunting cartridge research is to give shooters a set of expectations regarding both ammunition and firearms. Where a comment is made in the ahead pages stating that a cartridge will do such and such on impact, readers can expect those results to be clinically factual and repeatable in the field rather than based on passing opinion.

To get the most out of this research, readers are encouraged to think about their expectations of themselves, their rifles and their cartridges. By studying the game killing section, the reader is able to start his or her own decision making process based on a solid foundation. In the cartridge section, the reader can make comparisons of various cartridges, look for similar results in his or her own cartridge and by cross referencing, will be able to notice and understand common trends in performance.

There is certainly no single cartridge to suit every hunter as each hunter has such varied needs. Some hunters are recoil shy, some have sustained shoulder injuries. Some folk are primarily woods hunters, others find their game on the open tops. Some hunters have a generous disposable income, others are on a severly limited budget. Regardless of the research presented here, readers must still make their own decisions regarding optimum cartridge usage.

Red Banks Campaign

On 30 April 1864 Began yankee General Nathanael Banks Red River Campaign in Louisiana. It was a complete failure, but Louisiana's governor Henry Watkins Allen, commissioned a report composed of eye-witnesses affidavits. I have seen this book, even used it. At one place the yankees were camped across the river on a Sunday and the people of the town came out to promenade as they did every Sunday. They were civilians, yet they fired on them. But the worst treatment was reserved for slaves, who were encouraged to follow after the Union army and told that the Confederates would kill them when they returned. Once these poor people had left their homes, they were abandoned. Thousands died. The eye-witness reports are horrifying. I had to put the book down, and walk away.

Ron Paul’s campaign claims victory in Louisiana caucuses

Via Cousin John

Throughout the Republican presidential primaries, Ron Paul has done well with young Americans, drawing thousands to his Youth for Ron Paul rallies. However, some of his young fans are still a few years shy of heading to the polls.

Ron Paul’s presidential campaign today claimed victory in this weekend’s district caucuses in Louisiana, boldly predicting that the Texas congressman will be in control of the state’s delegation to the Republican National Convention.

The Paul campaign said the candidate won “four and a half of six congressional district caucuses, securing 111 of 150 — or 74 percent — of (the) delegates” allocated as part of Saturday’s district caucus process.

“Ron Paul’s victory shows his delegate-attainment strategy is working and demonstrates that the media and Washington pundits are underestimating his influence in the nominating process,” said Ron Paul 2012 national campaign manager John Tate.

Tate predicted that “the Louisiana win forecasts a prominent role for Ron Paul” at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. “It also signals that the convention will feature a spirited discussion over whether conservatism will triumph over the status quo, all in relation to the end game of defeating President Obama.”

The Paul campaign claimed victory in Louisiana’s Congressional Districts 1, 2, 5 and 6, and a split decision in District 4.

“Yesterday’s result shows the changing dynamic among grassroots conservative activists dedicated to promoting a Republican platform that adheres to the Constitutional values Dr. Paul represents,” Paul’s Louisiana state director, Pete Chamberlain, said today. “Back-room dealing and insider politics are no match for the grassroots enthusiasm that is the hallmark of the Ron Paul campaign. Yesterday, Ron Paul’s dedicated Louisiana supporters showed what passionate, persistent activism can achieve when centered around a consistent message of freedom and prosperity.”

GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney now has the support of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and most of the party’s establishment leadership, so he is sure to receive a significant number of at-large or automatic delegates.

Chase’s Gross Misunderstanding of Loyalty

Salmon P. Chase’s ignorance of the Constitution was profound, and like a monarch saw subjects in the States, not free citizens as the Framer’s intended. Only States themselves can establish the privilege of suffrage, not the agent created by the States. That same Constitution holds that treason can only be committed against a State, by waging war against it or adhering to its enemies, which is precisely what Chase and his revolutionary cohorts were engaged in. Secession was a valid act, the same valid act which 13 colonies committed against England.

His real objective was loyal voters in the defeated South to vote Republican, and using them to perpetually hold the South in subjection to his rule. The radical Republican method of firm pacification of the South involved the Union League terrorist organization which taught the freedmen to hate their white neighbors and keep them from the polls, all to assure the ascendancy of Republican hegemony. Had there been no Union League, there would have been no Ku Klux Klan.

Chase’s Gross Misunderstanding of Loyalty

“Salmon P. Chase….emerged as an early advocate of self-determination as the best solution to disorder in the South. Throughout the war, Chase argued that the federal government’s policy toward the rebellious South should be based on the principle that “the loyal citizens of a State constitute a State.” He defined as loyal those “who desire the suppression of the rebellion, and consent to the means which the government found necessary for its suppression.”

Loyal citizens included virtually all of the black population together with those whites who accepted emancipation and Negro suffrage. Chase thought it was vital that the federal government make “no distinctions between colored and white loyalists,” and he attributed the shortcomings of Lincoln’s efforts in Louisiana, where Chase believed “the old secession element is rapidly gaining the ascendancy,” to the exclusion of blacks from the ballot.

Chase believed that universal suffrage, incorporating the principle of equal suffrage for blacks, would provide the foundation necessary for universal amnesty and for the final reconciliation of North and South. Touring the South in May 1865, Chase wrote to Secretary of War Stanton that “universal suffrage is essential to thorough pacification.” Most important, he believed, “the white population will acquiesce in this policy without serious opposition if it is clearly announced, & firmly but kindly pursued.”

Like all reformers, Chase accepted the necessity of a period of military reconstruction and, indeed, insisted as chief justice that “military rule must be supreme” until civil order and civil law could be fully and safely restored. Similarly….Chase stood with most reformers in opposing [Gerrit] Smith’s dictum that the rebels loyalty to the de facto Confederate government could not be distinguished morally from unionist loyalty to the federal government. “If the rebels waging war against the government are not traitors, Chase responded, “secession was a valid act; and our war was one of conquest.”

Wind farms may have warming effect

Via Don

Large wind farms might have a warming effect on the local climate, research in the United States showed on Sunday, casting a shadow over the long-term sustainability of wind power.
Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels contribute to global warming, which could lead to the melting of glaciers, sea level rise, ocean acidification, crop failure and other devastating effects, scientists say.

In a move to cut such emissions, many nations are moving towards cleaner energy sources such as wind power.

The world's wind farms last year had the capacity to produce 238 gigawatt of electricity at any one time. That was a 21 percent rise on 2010 and capacity is expected to reach nearly 500 gigawatt by the end of 2016 as more, and bigger, farms spring up, according to the Global Wind Energy Council.

Researchers at the State University of New York at Albany analysed the satellite data of areas around large wind farms in Texas, where four of the world's largest farms are located, over the period 2003 to 2011.

The results, published in the journal Nature Climate Change, showed a warming trend of up to 0.72 degrees Celsius per decade in areas over the farms, compared with nearby regions without the farms.

"We attribute this warming primarily to wind farms," the study said. The temperature change could be due to the effects of the energy expelled by farms and the movement and turbulence generated by turbine rotors, it said.

Unprecedented surge of illegal alien children

McALLEN, Texas (AP) - An unprecedented surge of children caught trudging through South Texas scrublands or crossing at border ports of entry without their families has sent government and nonprofit agencies scrambling to expand their shelter, legal representation and reunification services. On any given day this year, the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement has been caring for more than 2,100 unaccompanied child immigrants.

The influx came to light last week when 100 kids were taken to Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio for temporary housing. It was the first time the government has turned to the Defense Department - now, 200 boys and girls younger than 18 stay in a base dormitory.

While the issue of unaccompanied minors arriving in the U.S. isn't new, the scale of the recent increase is. From October 2011 through March, 5,252 kids landed in U.S. custody without a parent or guardian - a 93 percent increase from the same period the previous year, according to data released by the Department of Health and Human Services. In March alone, 1,390 kids arrived.

"The whole community right now is in triage mode," said Wendy Young, executive director of Kids in Need of Defense, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that matches pro bono attorneys with unaccompanied minors navigating the immigration system. "It's important that the resources and the capacity meet the need, and we're not quite there yet."

Misguided Tolerance Kowtowing to the Radical Homosexual Agenda

Mike Scruggs

Unfortunately for the causes of sound reasoning and good government, many people have been persuaded that tolerance is an unquestionable absolute virtue. This is unthinking nonsense. Tolerance can be an important civic virtue, if it facilitates the peace, safety, and well-being of a society.  But tolerating actions that have a strong potential to destroy or disrupt society’s peace, safety, and well-being is extremely unwise. Tolerating your neighbor’s cat in your backyard is an act of courtesy, but tolerating his pet diamondback rattler in your backyard is insanity. Tolerance can be a valuable civic virtue, but tolerating great evil or great danger is both evil and foolish.

Yet we see daily instances in our media of people using unqualified “tolerance” to argue for radical social changes that have strong potentials for social chaos.  Highly destructive social agendas are often pushed as “civil rights” even though they infringe on the civil rights of others and the moral stability of the nation.  We see these misguided concepts of tolerance and distorted concepts of civil rights shouting down reasonable deliberation on their impact on national security, public safety, and the most important social fabric that holds any nation together—marriage and family. Without these no nation can prosper in freedom and safety.  Yet we are a nation that is hastily throwing out centuries of solid moral traditions and burying volumes of credible scientific research to promote a radical homosexual agenda..

Unfortunately, the radical homosexual agenda is not about reasoned standards of tolerance and civil rights. It is certainly not about high standards of medical and social research. These have been sacrificed to the national political correctness agenda surrounding homosexual issues. Truth has taken a back seat to fashionable politics and misguided ideologies. The radical homosexual agenda is about normalizing homosexuality and proclaiming it as virtuous. It is a militant Revolutionary ideology that must punish any resistance to its new status. Part of that agenda must therefore be to undermine, discredit, and destroy Judeo-Christian teachings on sexual morality, marriage, and family. Although most of the shouting by its leadership is directed at overturning these Scriptural teachings, this seems to go right over the heads of many people. It is no wonder. In the last 50 years, America has slipped down a path of Biblical ignorance and irreverent disregard for Scriptural truth.  This decline has put the nation in a moral, ethical, and spiritual tailspin from which it may not be able to recover. The resulting spiritual and moral blindness has paved the way for a militant homosexual agenda and a staggering array of leftist perversions of political justice.

Homosexuality is not a virtue. It is a pathology with painful health and social consequences. According to the Centers for Disease Control, nearly two-thirds of all AIDS cases in the U.S. are directly attributable to homosexual activity. Yet they only represent two percent of the population—not 10 percent as claimed by the badly flowed Kinsey report. This means that homosexuals are 147 times more likely to acquire and spread AIDS.

AIDS is by no means the only problem. According to the research of Robert Knight (Air Force Times, December 1992), homosexual youths are 23 times more likely to contract a sexually transmitted disease as heterosexual youths. Male homosexuals are 14 times more likely to have had syphilis than male heterosexuals. Lesbians are 19 times more likely to carry syphilis as heterosexual women. John A. Eidsmoe gives three other research reports with similar results in his 1992 book compiling the case against homosexuals in the military. The Obama Administration ignored all such health and military performance research data in recommending that homosexuals be able to serve openly in the military.

Kinsey and other researchers found that homosexuals average more than 250 partners during their lifetime. This exposes the homosexual agenda for gay and lesbian marriage to be a showboat political platform for their radical agenda rather than seeking lifetime companionship. Again, their real goal is to discredit and destroy the Judeo-Christian concept of one-man-one-woman marriage and family. According to both U.S (Dr. John R. Diggs, 2002). and Dutch research, homosexual marriage actually increases promiscuity and spreads disease faster.

Homosexual practices also increase the risk of various infections. Over 90 percent engage in anal intercourse with risks of fecal and urine contamination. Their cancer rate is 12 times higher than heterosexuals. According  Diggs (2002), homosexuality knocks 20 years off a gay male lifespan. A young gay male of 20 years has only a 32 percent chance of making it to age 65. AIDS hospitalization also costs 7 times more than cancer hospitalization.  Many more shocking research reports could have been cited on the homosexual healthcare disaster.

Of serious concern to the military in adapting to the Obama Administration’s open homosexuality policies is that one third of all child molestations involve homosexual activity. This means that homosexuals are 16.5 times more likely to engage in child molestations than heterosexuals, which could be a major issue in keeping military bases safe for dependent children.

According to Williams and Weinberg (1972), 77 percent of homosexuals received honorable discharges from the armed forces versus 98 percent for heterosexuals. In this report, homosexuals were more than 11 times more likely to receive an other than honorable discharge as heterosexuals. Although many of President Obama’s supporters have cited anecdotal instances of gay and lesbian heroism in the military, these appear to be the exception rather than the rule. In any case, Obama’s political desires were rammed through Congress with little concern for their future consequences.

Oh, yes—Help restore our country’s moral backbone. Vote FOR the North Carolina Marriage Amendment.
