Runnymede

The Moneychanger

On 15 June 1215 in Runnymede, England the bishops & barons of England, fed up with King John's oppression, asserted their ancient rights and forced him to sign the Magna Carta or Great Charter of Liberties. Once widely understood and protected as the foundation of all English & American liberty, few today know the rights it guaranteed and tyrannies it forbade or that it ended arbitrary government. Today most of these liberties have, as a practical matter, been lost. They include:

* Freedom of the Church

* Freedom from arbitrary search or seizure without due process. Nearly dead, thanks to the Patriot acts and other tyrannies.

* Justice shall not be sold.

* Freedom to travel. Y'all don't have this, do you? You do have driver's "licenses" (permits), don't you? You do submit to search -- even strip search -- to board an airplane, right? Or maybe they don't do that where y'all are.

Yet whatever tyrannies the government practices, by ancient right and inheritance the rights secured by Magna Carta are still ours. They may be stolen, but they can never lawfully be taken from us. *We may be overpowered, but we can never be conquered.

*Reminds me of my mother's words.

The 10 Best Vehicles To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse

Via Survival

#1 would be my choice, but I'm sure the price would be prohibitive, as would all the others.

We’d advise you to start saving for one of these rides now, but let’s be honest, by the time you could afford most on the list it would be too late (what with the zombie apocalypse here and all). If you find yourself searching for the ideal vehicle to keep your ass alive, however, these would be your 10 best options:

George Zimmerman – Understanding How Strongly The Feds Go After You When The President Puts His Office Credibility On The Line…

Best picture I've ever seen of him...........

Several months ago, when I first made the conscious choice to engage in really digging into and understanding the George Zimmerman case; the reason for my inquiry was based on the fact-based and historically accurate understanding that President Obama does not get involved in anything unless he stands to gain from something politically.

Additionally, I have held the opinion the entire construct of the George Zimmerman V Trayvon™ Martin case would have evaporated from view within weeks, if it were not for the Rose Garden speech by President Obama about ‘Trayvon being his son’. At that moment, that specific moment, is when the forces aligned against George Zimmerman increased exponentially. It was also at that moment that any possibility of a fair or impartial vetting of the case was crushed into the land of impossibility.

President Obama’s involvement is also the reason I have told many “at risk parties”, who do not possess the internal strength to look boldly into the furnace, to run away from it. This case is not for the faint of courage. Once you put the full weight, and credibility, of The Office Of The President of The United States into the mix, the concentric circles of narrative protection increase exponentially in all their forms; and they will attack you viciously ad infinitum.

Consider this latest revelation/development from the Miami Herald report to be a case in point. Emphasis mine:

FLORIDA – The FBI dispatched at least 10 special agents to Central Florida to investigate the Trayvon Martin shooting, records filed in Seminole County Court show.

The agents interviewed up to a dozen firearms dealers, gun range employees and private investigators about George Zimmerman, according to a court document filed Friday by Assistant State Attorney Bernardo de la Rionda. Another 11 investigators from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement also joined the probe.

“Two FBI agents showed up here with a picture of Zimmerman asked me if I recognized him,” said gun dealer Khaled Akkawi, who was listed as a witness in the case. “They were pretty much asking along the lines of if he had made racial comments or anything. My employees told me it couldn’t be further from the truth.

“Didn’t the guy have a Sunday school in his house for minority kids?”

Before he shot the unarmed teen, Zimmerman mentored a black child, his family has said.

The president flouts the law

Via Don

By

Apparently, there are no limits to what the president will do to get himself reelected. There is evidence that he will manipulate the law in favor of pet causes and supporters, as in the case of Solyndra. His administration might be guilty of breaking the law, as shown by the leaks of classified national security information. And now, President Obama holds himself above the law on immigration.

Today’s executive order, granting work permits and immunity from deportation to young illegal immigrants, is not an example of the president using his authority; it’s a scandal involving the president performing a selfish act in furtherance of currying favor with a special-interest group.

Obama has acknowledged that what he did today would require a new law, or at least changes to the current law. But instead of waiting on either, he has decided to rule by fiat. This is not a show of strength; it’s an act of arrogance of rare severity.

Before you can even get to the question of whether this is good policy or if it invites more illegal immigration, you can see that the president’s actions today ignore some of the Constitution’s fundamental tenets. Yesterday, I spoke about the gall the president displayed in his so-called economic speech, which was full of gratuitous pledges and the selective retelling of history. Today’s actions go beyond gall, showing contempt for our laws.

Obviously, this issue is hand-picked to play itself out in a campaign context, where Obama dares Romney to join with him in ignoring the law or seizes the opportunity to suggest that Romney is indifferent to the plight of illegal immigrants. And this all happens one week before Obama speaks to the annual conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. Are we supposed to believe that this is a good act of legitimate governance on the president’s part?

Just like when SCOTUS slapped down a Truman executive order for the very same reason. This order will go down too. POTUS can not make an executive order that would need new legislation. Over and over SCOTUS has ruled that this power is limited to Congress. After Rep King files suit to block it SCOTUS will rule it's illegal and send it to Congress to deal with as it should have been.

Whoaah ! Trayvon’s BUTTON – Cory Craig Johnson – Just got a whole lot more interesting

Remember that “awkward” sideways look on Sybrina’s face when the reporter asked about the “button” Trayvon was wearing when he was shot, that was also visible in the 7-11 video?

Treeper Shari - uncovered some very interesting aspect about Cory Craig Johnson that leads to a far greater understanding about “why” Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin have such a keen interest in the “Stand-Your-Ground” legislation.

Apparently this is something they have a vested interest in keeping hidden from public understanding or awareness.

The conflict of interest is so blatant it is no wonder why never divulged this to the media and are so awkward when questioned.

Cory Craig Johnson’s Father’s name is Archie Jerome Johnson. Here is a court case for a second degree murder conviction, in Florida, that was being appealed by a man named Archie Jerome Johnson, who appears to be Cory C Johnson’s father:

Ijames is best known for his thorough work documenting the service of Black Confederates. This talk (see link below) is quite interesting as Ijames discusses how entrepreneurship and innovation allowed many blacks in NC to not only survive the Great Depression, but to also thrive - despite tremendous odds. Note his point about how the South was better able to weather the Great Depression and why. Some of those same reasons apply to our current economic conditions.

Ijames also discusses the "Rosenwald Schools." I attended one of these schools right after our local schools in Virginia were integrated in the 1960's.

There are some lessons here for us all. Well worth the time to watch and listen.

Who Among Men is Most Formidable?

Bonnie Gadsdsen
VERBATIM POST

That is the question that came to mind when I read Mark White's comment over at K's place. Mark believes many of us in the III Community are sissies, out of shape and old, unable to survive the modern battlefield... perhaps he speaks the truth. Many are in the waning years of life, unable to resist the decay of the body Father Time brings. But does physical strength make you the most formidable enemy?

Who among men is the greatest threat? Is it the Spartan, the life long warrior-soldier, a man in the peak of his physical self, bred and trained to excel in one task, to kill with the utmost efficiency?

If not the Spartan, maybe it is the crafty assassin? Spending his hours, months and years gaining your confidence, only to drive the knife through your spine after you have given him your full and unwavering trust?

Perhaps it is not one man, but a tight knit unit who can infiltrate, out flank and out maneuver your forces at will? A group of men capable of sowing destruction wherever they lay their sword, who then disappear, leaving only death and fear behind.

What if none of these men are the most formidable to be encountered? Perhaps that title belongs to the man who sparks the ideas, the brush fires in other men's minds. The man who hardens the resolve of great warriors who will then fight for the beliefs they hold within their hearts. This man will continue to fight and destroy you, long after you kill him, for the seed of defiance and Liberty shall not die quietly in the minds of men.

Let me remind you, even the mightiest warrior can be brought down by a mere 55 grains of lead.

What of the British thoughts on the matter during the uprising of their citizens? Who were the men most formidable to their empire?

General Gage detested two men above all others. Sam Adams and John Hancock.

June 12, 1775
With the letter came a copy of a proclamation issued by General Gage. No longer were the selectmen of any towns in the Province of Massachusetts to have anything to say. Martial law was to supersede civil authority. The provincial soldiers were rebels and traitors who must lay down their arms at once and go home, if they would hope for pardon; but there was no pardon for Samuel Adams and John Hancock, who must pay the extreme penalty of the law for inciting the people to rebel against their kind and lenient king.
Our founding fathers saw the benefit of leaving their posterity a road map, a map that leads to freedom. This map has been found by many in their writings and in our nation's founding documents. There they have hidden the seeds for men to find who seek them. I have found such a seed. Continually I water it, nurture it and watch it grow. My seed has borne fruit, it has also cast hundreds of new seeds into the wind, seeking out the fertile soil of other men's minds to embed itself within and flourish.

The men who instill defiance to tyranny in the soul of their fellow man are the greatest threat to those who seek to be masters. Sow your seeds, spark your brush fires, and you will become a larger threat than any single warrior.

Buffalo Cop Suspended, Seen Walking Out of Jorden's Home

Via Knuckledraggin My Life Away

2 On Your Side has confirmed that a man Hamburg police found coming out of Dr. Timothy Jorden's home in Lake View Wednesday morning was Buffalo Police officer Martin Motley III.

Motley is seen in the attached photos and video wearing a yellow t-shirt and tan shorts.

When stopped by Hamburg police as he was leaving Dr. Jorden's home, Motley was carrying a personal gun, $5,000 in cash and a Rolex watch.

After being questioned by the Departments internal Affairs division, Motley was suspended today without pay.

Motley has been out on injured-on-duty status for the last three years.

Motley attended Bennett High School in Buffalo with Dr. Jorden, and the two men are said to be good friends.

Dr. Jorden is the "person of interest" in the shooting at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Wednesday morning that left a woman dead. Jorden is on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous.

Homeland Security Administratively Implements the DREAM Act

Call Secretary Napolitano NOW and Tell Her You Object

We need your help NOW to stop the Obama Administration’s DREAM Act!

This morning, the Department of Homeland Security announced that it intends to ignore the Constitution, usurp Congressional authority, and administratively implement the DREAM Act. The announcement came through an official policy memo, signed by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, followed by a conference call led by Napolitano herself. According to this announcement, effective immediately, the Obama Administration will stop deporting illegal aliens who qualify for the DREAM Act by granting these illegal aliens “deferred action” and work authorization.

Deferred action status is what DHS grants when it decides, in its own discretion, not to remove an illegal alien. Those who receive deferred action usually also receive work authorization and DHS has confirmed that illegal aliens granted deferred action pursuant to the new policy memo (dated today, June 15, 2012) will be eligible for work authorization. There is no statutory basis for deferred action status, as it is merely referred to in the federal regulations (See, e.g. USCIS Ombudsman memo, Apr. 6, 2007 (citing 8 C.F.R. 274a.12(c)(14)). Even more troubling, deferred action is not subject to judicial review. (Reno v. American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Comm., 525 U.S. 471, 484, 492 (1999))

While this new policy is effective immediately, Secretary Napolitano has directed U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to create an application process that will be fully operational within 60 days. The DHS estimates that nearly 1 million illegal aliens will be given a reprieve through its new policy! (To read more details about the announcement, please see our website.)

FAIR is urging all of our members, activists, and friends to LOUDLY voice their objection to the Obama Administration’s new policy. We need the Obama Administration to hear the voices of Americans across the country who believe in the rule of law, otherwise it will only hear kudos from the amnesty lobby.

Please call the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and your members of Congress and tell them:

  • You believe in the rule of law; it is the bedrock of our great nation.
  • You want an immigration system with integrity and our immigration laws enforced.
  • Congress, not the Executive Branch, has sole authority to establish our immigration laws; it is the responsibility of the Executive Branch to enforce them.
  • You object to illegal aliens through “deferred action” or any other executive maneuver.
  • It not only undermines the rule of law, but only encourages more illegal immigration.
  • It also is an act of shameless political pandering five months before the presidential election.

"The Roman Republic fell, not because of the ambition of Caesar or Augustus, but because it had already long ceased to be in any real sense a republic at all. When the sturdy Roman plebeian, who lived by his own labor, who voted without reward according to his own convictions, and who with his fellows formed in war the terrible Roman legion, had been changed into an idle creature who craved nothing in life save the gratification of a thirst for vapid excitement, who was fed by the state, and directly or indirectly sold his vote to the highest bidder, then the end of the republic was at hand, and nothing could save it. The laws were the same as they had been, but the people behind the laws had changed, and so the laws counted for nothing."

The New and Improved A.A.R.P. = Armed And Really Pissed

Via Bonnie Gadsden

This is the New Improved A.A.R.P. We don’t care how old you are, how tall or short, by what name you call God, male or female or any other criteria except that you are Armed And Really Pissed.

The new improved A.A.R.P. is not a call to arms, this is a call to get ARMED. You ever notice in the news when they say “the suspect is armed and presumed dangerous”. Did you get that? If you are armed you are presumed dangerous. Conversely, if you have been disarmed or were never armed you are not dangerous, a SHEEPLE. You must do as the government says because you are not dangerous, in their eyes. So shouldn’t this make you mad? Yes, it should. It should make you mad enough to go out and buy a firearm and learn how to use it.

Stop and think about this statistic. About 110,000,000 people in this country are armed. About one third of the population of this country has at least one firearm. How can we be invaded? Should we be afraid of the Mujahadeen? Taliban? (They are one in the same by the way.) Alqaeda? Prince Albert in a can? No. Nobody in his or her right mind would attack one hundred ten million armed people. Admiral Yamamoto said it best when he said “I would never invade the United States. There would be a gun behind every blade of grass.” After bombing Pearl Harbor, he is also the man that said that all Japan had done was to awaken a sleeping giant.

Mob attacks not about race

Via CofCC

Right and Obama was eligible for office........

I have never responded to the columnist down the river.

But I was fascinated by Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass’ take on the recent mob attacks in and around the Streeterville neighborhood.

In his interview with the unidentified doctor who was injured in the attack, Kass asked if the attack was “racial.”

“I don’t think it was racially motivated,” the doctor said. “They were black, I’m Asian, but I think it was something else. I think it was about having fun because they could.”

Still, whether white people are comfortable saying it out loud or choose to keep a lid on their thoughts, a lot of them are wondering if they are being targeted by street mobs because of their race.

Several readers sent me angry emails, saying I didn’t point out that the attackers were black and the victims were white and that makes this a hate crime.

But these mob attacks are not as simple as beating up someone because of their ethnicity.

Because these were not the black-on-black crimes the city has grown accustomed to, that doesn’t mean they were hate crimes.

These were random acts of terrorism.

Artsy Zip Guns

Good racket!:)

Every so often I get an email from a conceptual artist who is obsessed with the artistic merit of putting a gun on display. Rarely do they exhibit beautiful guns, but instead poorly made, badly modified or kitschy blinged out guns. My theory is that eventually conceptual artists eventually run out of metaphors for genetalia and need to find the next thing to shock the public. The artsy crowd is apparently easily shocked by guns sitting inside locked glass display cases.

One artist, Tom Sachs, claims to have made guns not for their artistic metric but for profit. After Realizing guns Could be Easily and cheaply made, He run a racket Small Manufacturing Producing Functional ZIP guns to Sell to a New York City gun buyback program for up to $ 300 a piece.

Oversaw recount of the '08 Senate race that put Franken in office

President Obama is not the only major U.S. politician previously involved with the now defunct socialist-leaning New Party in the 1990s.

WND has found that Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie was listed as a builder and early leading activist of the controversial third party that is now coming under increased scrutiny after

Ritchie was the recipient of national news media attention when he oversaw the recount of the 2008 U.S. Senate race that put onetime comedian Al Franken into office.

WND previously reported how Ritchie’s campaign donor list includes a “who’s who” of the radical left, including New Party founders.

The Fall 1994 edition of the New Party News, the party’s own newsletter, listed over 100 New Party activists working on “building the party.” The members included “some of the community leaders, organizers, retirees, scholars, artists, parents, students, doctors, writers and other activists who are building the NP.”

Among the activist cited is Ritchie of the Minneapolis-based Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy.

Thanks Obamacare: 83% of Doctors Surveyed Say They May Quit

Townhall
VERBATIM POST

The Doctor Patient Medical Association has released a new survey of about 700 doctors, and the results are bleak. Scary bleak. Among other dismal figures, Doctors' Attitudes on the Future of Medicine: What’s Wrong, Who’s to Blame, and What Will Fix It found that 83% of respondents are contemplating leaving the industry if Obamacare is fully implemented, owing to its disastrous projected consequences. Indeed, they openly blame the healthcare law for their industry's woes:

KEY FINDINGS

  • 90% say the medical system is on the WRONG TRACK
  • 83% say they are thinking about QUITTING
  • 61% say the system challenges their ETHICS
  • 85% say the patient-physician relationship is in a TAILSPIN
  • 65% say GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT is most to blame for current problems
  • 72% say individual insurance mandate will NOT result in improved access care
  • 49% say they will STOP accepting Medicaid patients
  • 74% say they will STOP ACCEPTING Medicare patients, or leave Medicare completely
  • 52% say they would rather treat some Medicaid/Medicare patient for FREE
  • 57% give the AMA a FAILING GRADE representing them
  • 1 out of 3 doctors is HESITANT to voice their opinion
  • 2 out of 3 say they are JUST SQUEAKING BY OR IN THE RED financially
  • 95% say private practice is losing out to CORPORATE MEDICINE
  • 80% say DOCTORS/MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS are most likely to help solve things
  • 70% say REDUCING GOVERNMENT would be single best fix.

If this isn't an airtight argument for the repeal of Obamacare, nothing is. When the people providing the actual healthcare are thinking of getting out of the game, the system is clearly broken. Here's hoping the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare this month.

Regiments to Defend the Old North State – The Thirty-seventh North Carolina Regiment

Read more HERE.

“All across the State, men began to enlist in companies, often led by important men in local communities. These companies gave themselves grandiose names, such as the “Enfield Blues,” the “Halifax Light Infantry,” the “Washington Grays,” the “Hornet’s Nest Rifles,” or the “Southern Stars.” The companies often congregated near Raleigh at one of the training camps, where they formed groups of ten companies and received a numerical or regimental designation. Afterwards they elected their field officers and were sworn into State, and later Confederate, service.

Some 2,021 men would eventually serve under the banner of the Thirty-seventh [North Carolina] Regiment. They would come from a diversity of backgrounds, occupations, talents, and ages. One thing is certain: as the war progressed, they would become one of the best fighting forces in Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. They would have their moments of victory, trial under fire, and their seasons of defeat.

And they were men. The overall age of a member of the regiment was 30.4 years. The oldest member, at the age of 65, was Alexander County resident, Private Edward Turner. Fellow Company G member Private James Campbell was 56 when he enlisted. On the other end of the age bracket, the youngest enlistees appear to have been Demarcus Hodges and Levi Potter. They were both from Watauga County and both of the tender age of 15. There were many 16-year-olds who enlisted. Several…actually served, most notably Dallas M. Rigler, a Mecklenburg County native who would rise to the rank of Third Lieutenant of Company I. He was wounded at least three times before being captured at Petersburg, Virginia.

Their occupations were as varied as their ages. The vast majority were farmers, as was the case in most of the Confederate regiments….[but also] two lawyers, seven teachers, three clergymen, two coach makers, two millwrights, twenty-three carpenters, two doctors, eight students, six merchants, four mechanics, two wheel-wrights, three miners, two masons, and at least one each of harness makers, blacksmiths, printers, cabinetmakers, saddlers, shoemakers, tinners, paper makers, moulders, clerks, artists, and cotton spinners. Added to this were at least 852 farmers, who owned farms of varying sizes, to produce a colorful mixture.”

Regiments to Defend the Old North State

Journal of Mrs. Eugenia Levy Phillips, 1861-1862: Jewish-American History Foundation

The House Divided

A sojourn of ten years in the city of Washington had made me part and parcel of the Southern society, all my sympathies, interests, and affections being with them. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, of course I could entertain no very great admiration for our Northern brethren, and partook in a measure of the prejudices which the interference of the Abolition Party in Southern rights fomented into a bitter hate. Thus the strife which was soon to assume gigantic proportions grew with a strength and bitterness, recognizing fearful civil war as the result, and men and women entered into this strife with a partisan furor, entirely ignorant and blind as to their responsibilities.

American women knew nothing of war, believed less in the cruelties and fearful vindictiveness of the Federal governm[en]t. Thus the Southern women gave free expression to the feelings which habit had made but second nature, and spoke of their hatred and determination to sustain their rights by encouraging in their husbands, sons, and fathers every resistance to tyranny exhibited by the Republicans.

The first sign of trouble in Washington was the total breaking up of Southern society by the senators: members resigning their seats in Congress and leaving with their families for the South. Some few could not leave in such haste, and among them was my unfortunate family. In constant correspondence with my parents, sisters, and brothers living [in] Savannah, Ga., my letters were filled with the sayings and doings of the two parties about to break up and convulsed by all the bitterness of the coming strife, [and I was] totally unprepared for such an event as having our letters broken open and their contents made history of by the Federal gover[n]ment.

"The Jailors of American Liberty"

Seated in my parlor, enjoying the company of a quiet but nervous friend, Miss Margaret L., on the morning of the twenty-third [twenty-fourth] August [1861], 1 was suddenly attracted by a noise in the hall. On turning my head in that direction, I observed two men enter the room, and was immediately accosted with the enquiry: "Are you, madam, Mrs. Phillips?" Replying in the affirmative, I was again asked if the gentleman of the house was in. Comprehending at once the position, and hoping to give P. L. [my husband] time to collect his thoughts and determine his course, I answered evasively, I did not know. I was then informed that my family was arrested in the name of the government. My sister Martha [Levy] and my friend has [had] retired to the adjoining room, not knowing the object of this stranger's business. I called aloud and informed them of our arrest, and turning to my interrogator, who proved to be the chief of that delectable body called "Detective Police," I said: "I am not in the least surprised, sir."
