$100 billion a year of Corporate Welfare in the Federal Budget

Rising federal spending and huge deficits are pushing the nation toward a financial and economic crisis. Policymakers should find and eliminate wasteful, damaging, and unneeded programs in the federal budget. One good way to save money would be to cut subsidies to businesses. Corporate welfare in the federal budget costs taxpayers almost $100 billion a year.

Policymakers claim that business subsidies are needed to fix alleged market failures or to help American companies better compete in the global economy. However, corporate welfare often subsidizes failing and mismanaged businesses and induces firms to spend more time on lobbying rather than on making better products. Instead of correcting market failures, federal subsidies misallocate resources and introduce government failures into the marketplace.

While corporate welfare may be popular with policymakers who want to aid home-state businesses, it undermines the broader economy and transfers wealth from average taxpaying households to favored firms. Corporate welfare also creates strong ties between politicians and business leaders, and these ties are often the source of corruption scandals in Washington. Americans are sick and tired of "crony capitalism," and the way to solve the problem is to eliminate business subsidy programs.

Corporate welfare doesn't aid economic growth and it is an affront to America's constitutional principles of limited government and equality under the law. Policymakers should therefore scour the budget for business subsidies to eliminate. Budget experts and policymakers may differ on exactly which programs represent unjustified corporate welfare, but this study provides a menu of about $100 billion in programs to terminate.

Obama: Let’s Repeat Auto Bailout with Every Industry

Freedom Outpost
VERBATIM POST

Barack Obama bragged of the success of his decision to provide taxpayer money to the auto industry, though it has proven to be majorly unsuccessful. Now Obama says he wants to do the same thing with the manufacturing industry.

The Fascist in charge said,

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.

“I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China, I want those jobs taking root in places like Pueblo.”

He not only wants to use taxpayer money to prop up automobile manufacturers, but he wants to do it with every industry!

“Gov. Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly invested in companies, some of which were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing,’” Obama said. “I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing. I want to insource.”

Oh really Barry? You mean like handing over taxpayer funded 123 Systems to the Chinese? Is that the type of “insourcing” you are talking about?

No thanks. Just keep your hands out of the Treasury and our pockets and let businesses succeed or fall based on their own merits, not your legalized theft!

High-Ranking Mexican Drug Cartel Member Makes Explosive Allegation: ‘Fast and Furious’ Is Not What You Think It Is

Sinaloa Cartel Operative Jesus Vincente Zambada Niebla Makes Explosive Allegation About Operation Fast and Furious

A high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative currently in U.S. custody is making startling allegations that the failed federal gun-walking operation known as “Fast and Furious” isn’t what you think it is.

It wasn’t about tracking guns, it was about supplying them — all part of an elaborate agreement between the U.S. government and Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa Cartel to take down rival cartels.

The explosive allegations are being made by Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, known as the Sinaloa Cartel’s “logistics coordinator.” He was extradited to the Chicago last year to face federal drug charges.

Zambada-Niebla claims that under a “divide and conquer” strategy, the U.S. helped finance and arm the Sinaloa Cartel through Operation Fast and Furious in exchange for information that allowed the DEA, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies to take down rival drug cartels. The Sinaloa Cartel was allegedly permitted to traffic massive amounts of drugs across the U.S. border from 2004 to 2009 — during both Fast and Furious and Bush-era gunrunning operations — as long as the intel kept coming.

This pending court case against Zambada-Niebla is being closely monitored by some members of Congress, who expect potential legal ramifications if any of his claims are substantiated. The trial was delayed but is now scheduled to begin on Oct. 9.

Zambada-Niebla is reportedly a close associate of Sinaloa Cartel kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and the son of Ismael “Mayo” Zambada-Garcia, both of which remain fugitives, likely because of the deal made with the DEA, federal court documents allege.

Based on the alleged agreement ”the Sinaloa Cartel under the leadership of defendant’s father, Ismael Zambada-Niebla and ‘Chapo’ Guzman, were given carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States and were also protected by the United States government from arrest and prosecution in return for providing information against rival cartels which helped Mexican and United States authorities capture or kill thousands of rival cartel members,” states a motion for discovery filed in U.S. District Court by Zambada-Niebla’s attorney in July 2011.

A source in Congress, who spoke to TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity, said that some top congressional investigators have been keeping “one eye on the case.” Another two members of Congress, both lead Fast and Furious Congressional investigators, told TheBlaze they had never even heard of the case.

One of the Congressmen, who also spoke to TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because criminal proceedings are still ongoing, called the allegations “disturbing.” He said Congress will likely get involved once Zambada-Niebla’s trial has concluded if any compelling information surfaces.

“Congress won’t get involved in really any criminal case until the trial is over and the smoke has cleared,” he added. “If the allegations prove to hold any truth, there will be some serious legal ramifications.”

I am not JOHN GAULT

“... but how the Commies managed to make a poor country out of a nation full of Germans is a mystery”

--P. J. O’Rourke

This quote helps Americans understand that the consumers can do it anywhere and now they are doing it to us. Where are the producers? Are we willing to be one?

Without more producers I know the American economy will get worse.

I have attended many men’s support groups and herd the men arguing and competing with one aother saying “My misery is the worse than yours is. I am living on the street!

So I am worthy of being helped.”

Then the other said “I was shot in the back four times in the street; that is why I am in this wheel chair. I am more worthier than you.” Why do we spend so much time trying to sell our problems rather than sell our strengths? Do we really believe that the other people have so few problems that they will pay us for ours.

When I go out to the store nowdays sometimes I find an old man about my age standing on the corner with a sign saying “Help I had a Heart Attack”, rather than saying “I can do this for you will you pay me?” I want to compete with him and claim my misery is worse than his. I want to say “Hey man, do you think you are the only one who has been on that operating table. My misery is worse than yours!” I do not because if I won I would lose and I do not like losing.

Recently I pulled into a gas station as I saw my world dark and depressed. I had only $5.00 in my pocket and no credit available on my card. A man asked me to let him wash my car windshield. Now call me a meany if you wish, but I do not give money away and I like to get my money’s worth. I was worried this was just a roose to get me to give him some think for nothing or claim I owed him $5.00 once the job was done. I asked him how much do you charge? I like all the details up front. He told me that he could not ask for payment or set a price because if he did he could be charged with running a business without a license. The police would chase him off the lot and out of the neighborhood. I said if you tried to sell me your misery and ask me for something for nothing I’d bet they would not hassle you at all would they?

“That is right but I want to earn my way.” I said “If I gave you a $1.00 to clean my windshield would you be happy?” He said “yes” so I told him to go ahead. He did a first class job on my windshield with paper towels. I paid him $1.00. He then had to reveal that one of his hands was crippled up. I asked him to clean the rest of my windows and I would find a better way to pay him. He did and I did. I paid him with an old pair of work gloves that I found in my trunk as his hands were cold in the cool air. I also found a old squeegee in that trunk and asked him to clean my tires in exchange. He did.

I may have had only $4.00 gas in my tank but I gave him nothing. He earned the $1.00, an old pair of gloves, and a useable squeegee for his “non-business”. I got my windows cleaned, a much brighter better view of the world through my windshield, a new faith in setting up my own business and the honor of doing business with a real man, a real entrepreneur. He earned his way and his honor and I got more that my money’s worth.

These events remind me of my favorite baseball player when I was a kid. His name was Pete Gray. He was the roockey of the year in the major league and he is now in the baseball hall of fame. He was a man who did not look down and say look I have been missing an arm since I was a child so buy my misery as it is worse then yours. He said this arm I have and I WILL use it to play ball!

I have earned a successful life for 70 years now. I will not sell you my problems. My misery is none of your damn business. My strengths I will sell to you. What are you buying?

I am not John Galt.

I am Mr. John C. Cupido the son of an Italian Immigrant. I am the OLD IDEA MAN and I will absolutely never quit!

Obama Team Lies, Says They Didn't Know Soptic Cancer Story

Today, two top Obama campaign officials fibbed on national television, explaining that they didn’t know about the case of Joe Soptic, a former employee of GST Steel who appeared in an ad by an Obama-associated Super PAC, Priorities USA Action. That ad controversially – and falsely – claimed that Bain Capital’s shutdown of GST Steel caused Soptic to lose his health insurance, his wife to lose her health insurance, and eventually, her death from cancer due to unaffordability of health care.

This morning, senior campaign advisor and former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said, ‘This is an ad by an entity that’s not controlled by the campaign. I certainly don’t know the specifics of this man’s case.” Stephanie Cutter, deputy Obama campaign manager, said, “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick, or the facts about his health insurance.”

Today, during a press gaggle with Press Secretary Jay Carney and Jen Psaki, Psaki said, "We don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family. As you know, campaign finance rules in that regard are in place for a reason."

These were lies. The Obama campaign has known for months all about Joe Soptic. In fact, the Obama campaign website ran a slide on Soptic:

Baldwin County Alabama kills their Agenda 21 comprehensive plan

Baldwin County's comprehensive plan voted down and all but shouted down

Egged on by a large crowd invoking property rights, United Nations Agenda 21, the U.S. Constitution and even the Communist Manifesto, the Baldwin County Commission killed the Horizon 2025 comprehensive plan today.

Following the 3-1 vote, many in the audience sang "God Bless America."

"This battle is about more than just planning," said commission Chairman Bob James. "This battle is to protect the Constitution of the United States and, to me, the Ten Commandments."
