A braindead Marxist: Obama Touts D.C. Public Schools as Offering the Kind of Education that Will Grow the Economy

President Obama took time out of his hectic campaign schedule this week for a visit with the ladies of The View.

Host Barbara Walters asked him, “What do you say to people who say you’re trying to redistribute the wealth?” Obama responded that he and his wife Michelle pay taxes so other people’s public-school children can have “great teachers and can succeed.” And to what public schooling system was the president referring? Why our national treasure, the D.C.Public School system.

Here’s what Obama told Ms. Walters: “You know, listen, neither of our kids are going to a public school right now in Washington,D.C.” He went on to explain that “we pay taxes so that kids who are going to public schools can have good teachers and can succeed. Now, I’m not doing that just for charity. I’m doing it because I think the economy is going to get better if every kid out there is getting the kind of education that allows them to be great workers and to help grow the economy.”

Really? Less than 2 out of 10 DCPS students are functionally literate in reading and math. Yet DCPS get nearly $30,000 per student. With results like that, DCPS may be good at growing its own budget—which it did last year by overestimating its student count by more than 2,000 students, costing taxpayers about $18 million for students who never showed up—but the economy? Please.

Issa Threatens In Fast and Furious Subpoena Of White House Aide ‘Suddenly’ Trasferred To Iraq In Fast and Furious

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has threatened to subpoena a member of the White House National Security Staff who was suddenly transferred out of the White House to Iraq in July 2011. Kevin O’Reilly had been communicating with an ATF agent while Fast and Furious was going on and the committee wanted his testimony, which the White House would not allow.

The Inspector General Michael Horowitz was unable to get testimony or permission from the White House to interview O’Reilly as well.

Issa and Senator Charles E. Grassley sent a letter to O’Reilly’s attorney on Thursday evening warning that they would issue a subpoena for O’Reilly if he did not agree to testify.

“We have been trying to arrange to speak with your client, Kevin O’Reilly, for nearly a year now,” Issa and Grassley wrote. “Earlier this year, you agreed to make O’Reilly available for an interview if the White House authorized his participation. The White House, where O’Reilly worked during the pendency of Operation Fast and Furious, refused to make him available, citing ‘an insufficient basis to support the request.”

“If O’Reilly chooses to continue to make himself unavailable, Chairman Issa will have no further alternative but to use compulsory process to require his testimony before the committee,” they wrote.

Redefining a slut

Via Jerry

ust when I think things can’t get any nuttier, I find I’m mistaken.

Consider the latest from that bastion of wholesome family values, Planned Parenthood. It seems Planned Parenthood has a new Facebook page for teens that includes a link to an MTV program called “Sextra Credit Episode 2,” which – get this – focuses on redefining the meaning of the word slut.

Now, just in case anyone misunderstands the subtleties of this term, the dictionary defines slut as “an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute.” The Oxford English Dictionary notes the term has been in use since 1402, though its original meaning was a slovenly or untidy woman. Later the term came to mean a kitchen maid. It wasn’t until the end of the 15th century that the term came to mean “a woman given to immoral or improper conduct.”

So for over 500 years, the term slut meant pretty much what we understand it to mean today. But now MTV’s “Sextra Credit” wants to define “slut” to mean “a woman who is confident in her sexuality.” Oh, and we should also “embrace” it.

“Don’t we already have enough baggage about sex as it is?” scolds the Sextra Credit spokesman, Francisco Ramirez.

Um, no. The problem is, nowadays we don’t have enough baggage about sex. As a society, we have forgotten that there is a proper time and place for intimacy, and that sex outside of those bounds causes an enormous burden on the participants, their families and taxpayers.

Calories and a false flag?

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg I have cans of freeze dried green beans, spinach, broccoli, and mushrooms.  I am happy to have them to provide variety, but in a post-STHF scenario, these cans will be useless in terms of providing energy for me to work around our compound.  Before now, seeing these cans on the shelf provided a sense of "food security" because they are indeed food, but what I am really looking for is "calorie security," says Mississippi Girl in this article, Let's Talk About Calories Per Dollar, at Survival Blog.
Ol' Remus says - During the Depression and World War II and the post-war period, the value of food calories was painfully well understood. In the 1940s not a few hungry people in Europe and Asia killed over calories. Remus believes purposely turning food into "low calory, low fat" food-like substances is no less offensive than the mandated herd and crop destruction of the '30s. When the STHF, those who devote garden space to dinnerplate decorations, or who confuse appetite with hunger, or who believe they'll forage their way through on edible plants, will learn the hard way what "normalcy bias" means. Mississippi Girl says what needs saying. This is a don't miss article. Full Disclosure: we just canned several gallons of tomato juice here at Woodpile Report Galactic HQ. We're not stupid. Quite.

Graphic video of Five Points attack hits social media

Via Ol' Remus

As my mother would say, "three guesses and the first two don't count" as to the races involved.........

- A graphic video of one of several weekend assaults in the Five Points area of Columbia has surfaced in a post on Facebook.

The video, which captures only the end of the incident, shows several men hitting and kicking Josh Bosworth.

Bosworth suffered a broken jaw and several lacerations from the attack that occurred early Sunday morning in front of Bey's, a bar on Harden St., and Pop's New York Pizza.

"My jaw is broken in two places and I have titanum plates in it," said Bosworth, who is focusing on recovering.

The video does not show what initiated the beating, but Bosworth says he believes he and his friends were targeted by a group of men looking to hurt anyone.

The 10 Manliest Firearms

Manly Guns
This was a hard piece to write, because guns by definition are manly, except for Berettas, gold-plated TEC9s, .25 caliber pistols or anything made by the French. To simplify things, I have limited it to modern cartridge firearms a man might, can, and should collect and shoot. There are certainly other manly weapons, and you may have a different list. As long as the list contains nothing French, gold-plated, .25 or with pearl grips (which Patton correctly observed are the mark of a New Orleans pimp), it is a good list. LET ME REPEAT THAT: You are encouraged to make your own list. A long as you’re shooting something, it’s all good. Now please read this intro again so you don’t embarrass yourself by arguing a point already made. Ask for help with any big words.

This is just the way it was. Send a check or money order, the gun was sent to you by parcel post. It was an ordinary transaction in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Winchester's M1 Carbine was adopted in late 1941 and initially issued to officers and NCOs, tankers, drivers and similar. They soon found their way into frontline use however, airborne troops for one, with mixed results. 6.5 million were manufactured. Production cost for the carbine was about half that of an M1 Garand. The M1 Carbine in various versions were used in quantity well into the Vietnam era.

Magazine ad circa 1958
Also available by for delivery by common carrier, the 20mm S-18 Solothurn was seven feet long and weighed a hundred pounds or more, depending on the model. The $189.50 1958 price would be $1,510 in today's dollars. In 1940-1941 the US Army planned to purchase a small quantity of this weapon from its nominally Swiss maker, then manufacture it here under license but negotiations were not successful. In Greek mythology, Cadmus was the sower of dragon's teeth, from which sprang armed men. 20mm is about 8/10 of an inch.

Dinesh D’Souza: What You Didn’t Know About Obama

“I’m a Slut and I Vote” for Obama

Via Terry

There’s some very colorful support for President Obama among the Democrat ranks in South Florida.  At a Patrick Murphy for Congress event in Fort Pierce, Florida, a woman leaving the event took a few minutes to talk women’s rights with the Shark Tank. Murphy is running against Congressman Allen West, and Murphy’s campaign staff booted the Shark Tank out of the event that featured free-contraceptives advocate Sandra Fluke and only drew about 75 attendees, including staff.

This unnamed woman in the video was very open about her thoughts about abortion and was a strong supporter of both Fluke and Murphy. At the beginning of the interview, another Murphy supporter tried in vain to peal a bumper sticker off  the woman’s back, but he failed.  This same man was the individual that accosted a Shark Tank camerman moments before the woman stepped in front of the Shark Cam.

The woman wore a Patrick Murphy for Congress t-shirt, an Obama 2012 pin along with a bumper sticker which stated that “I’m a Slut, and I Vote.”

You gotta hand it to the woman for letting it all hang out, so to speak. Here is her take on women being sluts, a must watch video….

US Households Face $3,446 Tax Increase From Fiscal Cliff

U.S. households are facing an average tax increase of $3,446 in 2013 if Congress doesn’t avert the so- called fiscal cliff, the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center said in a study released today.

The top 1 percent of households face some of the largest tax increases in 2013 and would see their after-tax incomes fall by 10.5 percent if Congress does nothing. That would translate to an average tax increase of $120,537 for that group.

A typical middle-income household earning between about $40,000 and $60,000 would face a tax increase of about $2,000.

After the Nov. 6 election, Congress is scheduled to return to Washington to debate the automatic spending cuts and tax increases starting in January unless lawmakers act. For calendar year 2013, taxes would increase by $536 billion, or about 20 percent.

“This is a very large tax increase,” Donald Marron, the center’s director, told reporters in Washington today.

If Congress does nothing, tax rates on income, capital gains, dividends and estates would increase, and the alternative minimum tax would spread to 21.7 million households, up from 4 million this year.

The top statutory tax rate on ordinary income would reach 39.6 percent, up from 35 percent, and the top rate on capital gains would be 23.8 percent, up from 15 percent. A 2 percentage point payroll tax cut is set to expire at the end of 2012.

JOHN JASPER was born on July 4th in 1812. He was a Negro preacher, philosopher, and orator. He grew up in Fluvanna County, Virginia, the youngest of 24 children. Tina, Jasper’s mother was a godly woman, prayed that God would make her son a preacher as his father had been. For many years it seemed those prayers would not be answered. John had no interest in spiritual things. He had fallen in love with a girl from a neighboring plantation and been given permission to marry her. But on the day of their wedding, a slave uprising caused their masters to separate them, and John never saw her again. In bitterness he turned his back on God and lived for the devil.

John was rebellious and constantly in trouble with his owners, this lifestyle would change. It was while he was at work in a tobacco warehouse in 1839 that Jasper was stricken with "God's arrow of conviction." William Hatcher in his book on Jasper presents his conversion narrative in dialect rather than in standardized English, giving insight into what it might feel like to hear Jasper tell his story in person.

Jasper was looking for religious certainty when God moved him. The date was July 4th 1839, the place, Capital Square of Richmond, Virginia. It had been a particularly difficult morning, as he was stemming tobacco and feeling particularly depressed, "de light broke; I was light as a feather; my feet was on de mount'n; salvation rol'd like a flood thru my soul, an' I felt as if I could 'nock off de fact'ry roof wid my shouts”. He was so excited that he could not hold it in and he was taken to the master of the plantation, who instructed him, in Jasper's words, "Aft'r you git thru tellin' it here at de fact'ry, go up to de house, an' tell your folks; go roun' to your neighbours, an' tell dem; go enywhere you wan' to, an' tell de good news". It was this instruction that allowed Jasper to preach in the manner that he did. Slaves were not generally allowed to preach, a restriction which constrained the ministry of Jasper's father. But with his master's approval, Jasper preached often to his fellow slaves.

Thirty days after his baptism in 1840, he was licensed to preach by the Old African Baptist Church, and he didn't stop for more than sixty years! "My sins was piled on me like mountains; my feet was sinking down to the regions of despair, and I felt that of all sinners I was the worst. I thought that I would die right then, and with what I supposed was my last breath I flung up to heaven a cry for mercy..." John Jasper certainly became a fulfillment of 2nd Corinthians 5:17 when it says; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” John’s translation was; "If you is, what you was, then you ain't." In other words if you claim to be a Christian and you are still what you were before you received Christ then you are not a Christian.

He was ordained in 1849 and on the same day, he preached a funeral, which immediately brought him fame. He taught himself to read and write, and although he delivered his sermons in the dialect of the southern slave, more educated ministers said that Jasper's vivid and dramatic sermons transcended "mere grammar." Jasper became a noted funeral preacher long before the Civil War. During this time in Virginia Black men were not allowed to pastor churches or even preach in the open unless supervised by white ministers. Because of Jasper's pointed and powerful messages his fame grew and the demand for him to preach was increasing. Sadly the only place John could preach was at slave funerals. It was not long before these salve funerals not only drew colored folks to the hear him but now whites were coming from miles and miles away to hear this gifted man of God.

Because of Colossians 3:11, “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.” There seemed to be no racism when it came to the preaching of John Jasper.

Noted for his fervid zeal, gifted imagery, and colorful oratory, as a speaker Jasper was much in demand. He preached in many sections of Virginia and adjoining states. He is known to have conducted famous all-day camp meetings in the country. Sunday after Sunday he could be seen leading his flock to be baptized in the James River. He was known to have baptized as many as 300 people in four hours.

The Third Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia asked Jasper to preach twice a month, and other churches noticed a decline in their attendance on those Sundays. During the closing days of the Civil War, Jasper was asked to preach to the Confederate soldiers in the hospitals around Richmond. When the war ended, Jasper continued to preach. It was at this time that Dr. William Hatcher, pastor of the largest church in either Richmond or Petersburg, VA became of this gifted preacher. They became friends and Jasper studied theology under Hatcher. Hatcher also wrote a great biography of Jasper.

In 1867 he organized the Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church in an old Confederate cavalry stable. The church began with nine members. Fifteen years later there were more than 1,000 members, and at his death they numbered nearly 2,000 and still is thriving today. Jasper gained national distinction in 1878 when he first preached his famed "DE SUN DO MOVE" sermon, which he later delivered by invitation more than 250 times. He even was asked to preach once before the entire Virginia General Assembly. This sermon was his effort to prove through biblical references that the sun revolves around the earth.

Life never proceeded smoothly for Jasper. In addition to the problems inherent in being a black man in the post-war South, he endured jealous colleagues, failed marriages, and worldwide ridicule of his religious beliefs. But, he persisted. More than that, he triumphed. His congregation had swelled into the thousands, more than one third of whom were white. In March of 1901, John Jasper preached to his congregation for the last time on the subject, "Ye Must Be Born Again." He urged his people to prepare for death, which he knew was coming soon for him. At his funeral, Dr.Hatcher delivered the eulogy, calling him "a prince of his tribe," he also said, "Every motion of his was made to exalt the Lord of his life." Jasper is buried at Woodland Cemetery in Richmond, which also is the final resting place of tennis great Arthur Ashe.

Once asked why he named his church the Sixth Street Mount Zion Baptist Church since it was on neither Sixth Street nor Mount Zion Street; Jasper’s reply was typically Jasper; “I just liked the way the words went together. I can imagine God, when asked why he called John Jasper to preach to say, I just liked the way he went together.”

"I have finished my work. I am waiting at the river, looking across for further orders." These were John Jasper's last words.

Freedmen Fleeing Northern Race Prejudice

Northern leaders sought ways to quell the fears of constituents envisioning emancipated slaves flooding northward in search of employment and wages; a theory was advanced that giving the freedmen political control of the defeated South would “drain the northern Negroes back to the South” as they fled northern race prejudice. Lincoln and other Republicans promoted ideas of colonization; Grant as president gave serious thought to acquiring Santo Domingo and Haiti as US territories and deporting the freedmen there.

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Freedmen Fleeing Northern Race Prejudice:

“As the war for the union began to take on the character of a war for freedom, northern attitudes toward the Negro paradoxically began to harden rather than soften. This hardening process was especially prominent in the northwestern or middle western States where the old fear of Negro invasion was intensified by apprehensions that once the millions of slaves below the Ohio River were freed they would push northward – this time by the thousands and tens of thousands, perhaps in mass exodus, instead of in driblets of one or two who came furtively as fugitive slaves.

The prospect of Negro immigration, Negro neighbors, and Negro competition filled the whites with alarm, and their spokesmen voiced their fears with great candor. “There is,” [Illinois Senator] Lyman Trumbull told the Senate, in April, 1862, “a very great aversion in the West – I know it to be so in my State – against having free negroes come among us.”

And about the same time [Senator] John Sherman, who was to give his name to the Radical Reconstruction Act five years later, told Congress that in Ohio “we do not like negroes. We do not disguise our dislike. As my friend from Indiana [Congressman Joseph A. Wright] said yesterday, the whole people of the northwestern States are, for reasons correct or not, opposed to having many negroes among them and the principle or prejudice has been engrafted in the legislation of nearly all the northwestern States.”

So powerful was this anti-Negro feeling that it almost overwhelmed antislavery feeling and seriously imperiled the passage of various confiscation and emancipation laws designed to free the slave. To combat the opposition Republican leaders such as George W. Julian of Indiana, Albert G. Riddle of Ohio, and Salmon P. Chase advanced the theory that emancipation would actually solve northern race problems.

Instead of starting a mass migration of freedmen northward, they argued, the abolition of slavery would not only put a stop to the entry of fugitive slaves but would drain the northern Negroes back to the South. Once slavery [was] ended, the Negro would flee northern race prejudice and return to his natural environment and the congenial climate of the South.

One tentative answer of the Republican party to the northern fear of Negro invasion, however, was deportation of the freedmen and colonization abroad….the powerful backing of President Lincoln and the support of western Republicans, Congress overcame [any] opposition. Lincoln was committed to colonization not only as a solution to the race problem but as a means of allaying northern opposition to emancipation and fears of Negro exodus.

This scandal could dwarf 'Fast and Furious'

While echoes of the “Fast and Furious” scandal still resound in the White House, another administration decision at the heart of Obama’s Mideast policy may prove even more explosive.

Almost entirely missing from the debate surrounding the anti-U.S. attacks in Libya is the administration’s policy of arming jihadists to overthrow Mideast governments. But in the case of Libya, the arming of jihadists may have directly resulted in the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks against the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the subsequent murder of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, private security employees and former U.S. Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

After changing its story multiple times, the White House finally conceded the deadly assault on the U.S. consulate was a planned attack linked to al-Qaida, as per information released by national intelligence agencies.

The admission prompted Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., to call for the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice for pushing the narrative that the attacks were part of a spontaneous uprising.
King may instead want to focus his investigative energies on the larger story: How the Obama administration armed Libyan rebels who were known to include al-Qaida and other anti-Western jihadists, and how the White House is currently continuing that same policy in Syria.

During the revolution against Muammar Gadhafi’s regime, the U.S. admitted to directly arming the rebel groups.

At the time, rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi boasted in an interview that a significant number of the Libyan rebels were al-Qaida gunmen, many of whom had fought U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but he added that the “members of al-Qaida are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader.”

Even Adm. James Stavridis, NATO supreme commander for Europe, admitted during the Libyan revolution that Libya’s rebel force may include al-Qaida: “We have seen flickers in the intelligence of potential al-Qaida, Hezbollah.”

U.S. 'Drowning In Unemployment,' Says Federal Reserve Member

Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, answers a question from the audience after delivering the 2009 Albert H. Gordon Lecture about the current financial crisis at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts February 23, 2009. REUTERS/Brian Snyder

On Friday, Dallas Federal Reserve President Richard Fisher said the U.S. is "drowning in unemployment" and that the Fed's monetary easing was not the solution; certainty on taxes and regulation are what's needed to jump start hiring.

Mr. Fisher's comments, delivered during a speech at the University of Texas at Dallas, highlighted the intractable nature of unemployment over the last few years and the folly of so-called "quantitative easing" by the Federal Reserve.

"A short-term fix to the fiscal cliff will do nothing but push out the envelope of indecision and we will continue to be plagued by high unemployment,"  Fisher said.  "We've had a recovery that is quite disappointing....We've never been here before so none of us know how we're going to navigate out of this particular quadrant of the liquidity pool in this ocean of money. And what I'm concerned about is that we may be painting ourselves into a corner," he said.

As college student, Eric Holder participated in ‘armed’ takeover of former Columbia University ROTC office

As a freshman at Columbia University in 1970, future Attorney General Eric Holder participated in a five-day occupation of an abandoned Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) headquarters with a group of black students later described by the university’s Black Students’ Organization as “armed,” The Daily Caller has learned.

Department of Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to questions from The Daily Caller about whether Holder himself was armed — and if so, with what sort of weapon.

Holder was then among the leaders of the Student Afro-American Society (SAAS), which demanded that the former ROTC office be renamed the “Malcolm X Lounge.” The change, the group insisted, was to be made “in honor of a man who recognized the importance of territory as a basis for nationhood.”

Black radicals from the same group also occupied the office of Dean of Freshman Henry Coleman until their demands were met. Holder has publicly acknowledged being a part of that action.

The details of the student-led occupation, including the claim that the raiders were “armed,” come from a deleted Web page of the Black Students’ Organization (BSO) at Columbia, a successor group to the SAAS. Contemporary newspaper accounts in The Columbia Daily Spectator, a student newspaper, did not mention weapons.

Obama USDA met 30 times with Mexican gov’t to promote food-stamp use among Mexican immigrants

Department of Agriculture personnel in the Obama administration have met with Mexican Government officials dozens of times since the president took office to promote nutrition assistance programs — notably food stamps — among Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals and migrant communities in America.

Writing in response to Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions’ July request for information about the USDA’s little known partnership with the Mexican government to educate citizen and noncitizen immigrants from Mexico about the availability of food stamps and other nutrition assistance programs, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack defended the partnership as a way to curb hunger in America — and the continuation of a program formed under the Bush administration in 2004.

America could be ‘taken over,’ warns Ross Perot

Former presidential contender and billionaire Ross Perot is worried that America is a sitting duck for an unnamed foreign invader. In an interview for his new autobiography, Perot said the nation's weak economy has left us open for a hostile takeover—and neither presidential candidate is the man to save the country.
Citing an impending fiscal cliff,  Perot warned of disaster. "If we are that weak, just think of who wants to come here first and take us over," the former CEO of info-tech company Perot Systems told USA Today on Monday.

"The last thing I ever want to see is our country taken over because we're so financially weak, we can't do anything," Perot says.

When asked for his take on the presidential race, Perot added, "Nobody that's running really talks about it, about what we have to do and why we have to do it. They would prefer not to have it discussed."
However cryptic he may be, this is the first political reckoning by Perot in years, ever since he withdrew from the political landscape after the fall of his Reform Party in the 2000 election. The man who ran the most successful third-party campaigns in contemporary American politics also expressed optimism about the current tea party activism and its efforts to "wake up" both Washington and the electorate.

Marching with our colours in Belfast

Protestants in Northern Ireland (Ulster) celebrated the one hundredth year anniversary of the Ulster Covenant this weekend with parades in Belfast and a festival at Stormont (the capital). A large portion of Ulster’s population is Ulster-Scots, people descended from Scottish settlers. In North America the Ulster-Scots are often called Scots-Irish. They are most heavily concentrated in Appalachia and the Upper South but have also spread out and across much of the rest of the South as well as other areas of the United States.

In the picture below, some Orangemen march with the Confederate flag of Dixie. The Bonnie Blue flag can also be seen to the left.

Re-post below from FNC 2011

"Flying the colours in Northern Ireland

Proud sons of Ulster took to the streets of Newtownstewart in County Tyrone on 6 May, 2011 to show the colours and their loyalty to their country. For this son of Dixie it was especially stirring to see that they marched with the Confederate and Bonnie Blue flags, symbolizing the cultural and ethnic ties between the Ulster-Scots (“Scots-Irish”) and the people of Dixie."

Paul Ryan Calls For Eric Holder's Resignation Over Fast and Furious

Vice Presidential Candidate and Representative Paul Ryan has officially called for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder over Operation Fast and Furious. From the DC:
“The congressman agrees with the governor,” Ryan spokesman Brendan Buck told TheDC on Sunday, referring to Mitt Romney’s call for Holder’s resignation or termination over the gunwalking scandal last December.

“Either Mr. Holder himself should resign, or the president should ask for his resignation or remove him,” Romney said in December 2011. “It’s unacceptable for him to continue in that position now given the fact that he has misled Congress and entirely botched the investigation of the Fast and Furious program.”

A Day at the Range with The Barrett M107A1 and MRAD

When you already make the biggest and baddest sniper rifles in the world it would be easy to just rest on what you have already accomplished. My thinking, and probably most people’s thinking, would ask, “why mess with the good thing?” But that is exactly what Barrett has done by completely redesigning the M107A1, and introducing an entirely new rifle, the MRAD, to the shooting public. We got a chance to actually go shoot these guns for a day with Ben Becker, our resident US Army Sniper. Ben has shot the original Model 82A1/M107 in combat on many occasions, but the updated, lighter version was a treat in civilian life, and the MRAD is just one of those rifles that you want to shoot as soon as you see it, and shoot them both we did.
