VERBATIM

I generally try to stay away from Velociworld unless I have a point to make. A sound bite. A relevant point. Otherwise I am a blithering idiot. I like a talking point. I don't have one at the moment. Therefore I'm going to blather. You may leave now.

Let's talk about this administration. It is criminal. It is political. It is also inexorable. It won't be stopped. But, like the Communist threat in 1946, it can be contained.

I ran across George Kennan's memoirs in 1980 in a bookstore in Virginia-Highlands in Atlanta. It was fascinating. He was the author of the Long Telegraph from Moscow to Truman. He realized we had already lost Europe, and we needed to contain the Soviets. He argued for what would later be known as detente.

That didn't work out too well. We lost China, Cuba, Angola, North Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, a host of countries.

Reagan introduced rollback. There is no containment. We will roll you back. Very Churchillian. Very beautiful. Especially because it worked.

This guy? This guy we have now? He's nothing. He's vaporware. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, I could carve a better man out of a banana.

The Left is old and tired. Like me. They can be rolled back. Put your kid in trade school. Refuse federal school loans. Create plumbers and engineers and HVAC masters. Starve this beast. Law school is a sure path to unemployment and $250,000 in debt. Don't play that game.

The lesson we must teach these Marxists disguised as liberal Democrats is: We will roll you back. It's like Patton in Africa. There is no other choice. Every now and then the good people must strike down the horrid whores. At the very least our kids will appreciate it.

And I apologize for the two sentence paragraphs. I must speak down to the lip movers on the a gauche side. Context.

On 2 August 1776 the delegates to the Continental Congress began adding their signatures to the Declaration of Independence. Each signer knew that he was also signing his own death warrant for high treason, should the states lose their war for independence. Wonder who would sign today, knowing that?

Rep. Rangel (D-NY): Tea Party Same 'White Crackers' Who 'Bombed Little Kids' During Civil Rights

In an interview with the Daily Beast published on Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) launched into a rant against the Tea Party, terming the movement racist; he added that Republicans are “terrorists.

He stated of GOP opposition to the Obama agenda in the House, “What is happening is sabotage. Terrorists couldn’t do a better job than the Republicans are doing.” As for the Tea Party, Rangel spat, “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police.

They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break.”

Obama Holder Batman Robin Recuse SC The Three Amigos of Racial Discord

On Monday, MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton and other “civil rights” leaders met with President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. They were purportedly discussing voting rights; but, in reality, they were discussing how to perpetuate voter fraud.

None of these so-called leaders are in favor of voter identification laws, which require individuals to present a picture ID at voting polls. Somehow, mandating voter identification is supposed to be racist and akin to a poll tax that will “disenfranchise” minority voters. Such views are plainly ridiculous as many states have programs to provide free voter identification cards to their citizens. For example, Texas has implemented a plan to distribute free picture ID’s to any interested voter; but even that has drawn the ire of Sharpton, Holder, and Obama.

The Three Amigos are upset that Texas will require anyone seeking a free voter ID to present verification of their U.S. citizenship and identity.  Of course, anyone interested in voter integrity and fair elections would agree that non-citizens should not be allowed to vote. Sadly, Sharpton, Holder, and Obama disagree and are not interested in combating fraudulent voting. They want more illegal aliens to vote, which translates into more votes for the Democratic Party

Congress to get Obamacare exemption: report

Figures

VERBATIM

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- The White House has approved a deal that will exempt members of Congress and their staff from some of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, Politico reported late Thursday. Under the law, popularly referred to as Obamacare, lawmakers and their aides were required to source health insurance "created" by the law or offered through one of its exchanges, and without the subsidies they currently enjoy, the members of Congress would have faced thousands of dollars in additional premium payments each year, the report said. However, the Office of Personnel Management now plans to rule that the government can continue to make a contribution to the health-care premiums of the lawmakers and their staff, it said, citing unnamed congressional sources and a White House official.

Rotten to the Core: Jeb Bush’s Crony Republicans Against Higher Standards

Here’s a new installment of my Rotten to the Core series on education and curriculum. This latest scandal has only just begun. I hear from multiple sources that there are more damaging e-mails to come. Jeb World is getting rocked not only by this mess, but by the nationwide, grass-roots revolt against his top-down Common Core scheme — which continues to grow despite Bush’s latest p.r. efforts to bamboozle talk radio and conservative pundits about his education racket.

A Natural Elite?

Are some people just naturally superior in quantifiable ways? We know some are naturally intelligent, some are naturally dominant, some are naturally driven, it stands to reason that some are naturally all three. Thinking for a moment, I can come up with examples of extremely intelligent peope who never acheived influence in relation to their abilities. Tesla is an obvious example, while he was undeniably a genius inventor, he never acheived financial success even with the backing of Westinghouse while Thomas Edison became a billionaire.  Or dominant people who never acheive influence outside of their small personal sphere; athletes are aggressive men who spend their lives in competition, but rarely acheive success outside their sport. Politicians are generally somewhat intelligent (Biden and Quayle are debatable) and driven with plenty of charisma, they would seem to be obvious elites, but the evidence would suggest that they are beholden to a higher level of influence. Is that higher level of influence made up of people who are intelligent, charismatic and driven beyond the norm?

A comment by jwoop66 at guerrillamerica got me thinking about this:

“Jefferson, Hancock, Franklin, Washington et al. were “elites”. Lawyers and landowners. God bless ‘em, however, but they and their peers were elites. When they felt oppressed, things happened. When “our” elites feel the pain, THEN the revolution will begin. While it is just us bitching at ourselves on the internet and then waking up to our Hourly or salary jobs, there will be no change.”

jwoop66 got me wondering if there are any pro-liberty elites today and ,if so, who they might be. I then considered if it was just lucky for us that the elites of that time decided on a decentralised government purely because it aligned with their own best interests. Consider history is the stories of a relatively few powerful people competing against each other. If enough American founders had wanted to install a monarchy (as some did) they could have. They had the power.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. --

A jury at Fort Bragg has found an 82nd Airborne Division lieutenant guilty of two counts of murder in connection with a series of shootings in Afghanistan.

1st Lt. Clint Lorance was found guilty Thursday. He was found not guilty of making a false official statement.

Lorance was sentenced to 20 years in prison, forfeiture of all pay and dismissal from the U.S. Army.

Prosecutors said Lorance ordered his men to open fire immediately, in violation of the military's rules of engagement, which requires soldiers to hold fire unless they have evidence of hostile action or hostile intent. They said three men on a motorcycle approached the patrol in July 2012. Two were killed and the third ran away.

Attorneys for Lorance said he was trying to protect his unit.

Did Obama break law to win re-election?

 obama-toast-beer

Did Barack Obama win re-election by violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act?

This is the question posed by former Homeland Security attorney Stewart Baker, a blogger for The Volokh Conspiracy, a group blog organized by Eugene Volokh, a professor of American law at the UCLA School of Law.

Baker’s credentials make the question a serious one.

A partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, he returned to private law practice after serving for three and a half years as the assistant secretary for policy at the Department of Homeland Security, where he created and managed the 250-person DHS Policy Directorate responsible, among other duties, for relationships with law enforcement and public advisory committees.

The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, enacted by Congress in 1986, is a broadly written law that in practice regulates virtually all computers and cellphones, largely because communications over the Internet tends to have implications for interstate commerce.

Baker argued that the Obama presidential campaign in 2012 possibly violated the act by an arrangement with Obama supporters posting on Facebook. It allowed the Obama campaign to search the person’s Facebook network for likely voters the campaign could identify as unmotivated or unregistered.

The likely voters would then get tailored messages from their Facebook friends urging them to register and turn out.

Editor fired for anti-Obama headline says bosses responded to pressure

A Tennessee newspaper editor who was fired for a headline critical of President Obama says his bosses bowed to pressure from the president's supporters, claiming he wouldn't have been canned if he had said the same of former President George W. Bush.

Drew Johnson's editorial, titled "Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President: Your policies have harmed Chattanooga enough," went viral and drew national attention earlier this week when Obama visited the city.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press editorial page editor was later ousted. The newspaper released a statement Thursday saying Johnson had been fired for "placing a headline on an editorial outside of normal editing procedures."

But in an interview with Fox News, Johnson said that policy -- requiring that last-minute changes to headlines be approved -- was only implemented after they published his piece.

Documents: IRS targeting of pro-life groups continues

The Internal Revenue Service  continues to target pro-life conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status despite pending investigations into the IRS targeting scandal, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller.

The IRS’ infamous Cincinnati office, which handles applications from groups applying for tax-exempt nonprofit status, badgered pro-life groups for information on their protesting activities as recently as late June 2013, well after IRS investigations began on the floor of the House of Representatives and elsewhere.

“We’ve had three more groups come to us that have had problems with the IRS — some very recent, some current or still pending. One of them just got their determination letter,” Peter Breen, senior counsel at the Thomas More Society, which represents pro-life groups targeted by the IRS, told The Daily Caller. “It’s continuing, and it needs to be addressed.”

Thanks to those who raise their voices for justice and dignity

President Obama, in spite of his impeccable academic and moral credentials, has been called "ignorant," "a thug," "lazy" and a "dope feign." Sounds familiar? It sounds like the description assigned to Trayvon and a million other men of his hue. The Zimmerman Jury revealed the cancer of white supremacy that continues to cripple American democracy. Zimmerman put a bullet in the heart of Trayvon Martin. The U.S. Supreme Court, in the words of Congressman John Lewis, "put a dagger in the heart of the Voting Rights Act."

The election of President Obama, our first African American President, ushered in a wave of naked and blatant racism that is painfully reminiscent of the violent era of southern American History.

Millions of people have voiced their outrage! Some of these voices were raised here in Selma. It is time to say "thank you" to the people who have raised their voices for justice and dignity! This editorial is long overdue. I write it because it has not been written. I write to thank local people who had the courage to join voice of reason, justice and democracy.

Selma's Alecha Irby and her twin sister Carnesha Irby are amazing young women. They organized three demonstrations to protest the Zimmerman verdict. The nation watched thousands of people respond to Reverend Al Sharpton's call for protest last Saturday. The local media refused to acknowledge the protests in Selma, organized by Alecha. While on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, she stopped a woman from committing suicide and called 911. Thank you Alecha. We also thank the people who followed your courageous leadership.

We also thank the African American City Council officials who passed resolutions in support of justice for Trayvon and the Voting Rights Act. They also stopped Cecil, Susan, and Bjelke's efforts to give the Daughters of the Confederacy an acre of land to place a monument of a white supremacist on public land. Placing a monument to the first grand wizard of of the Klan would gives credence to white supremacy and the ungodly nature of the Klan and the "Wrong Wing". Thank you Crenshaw, Bowie, Randolph, Johnson and Benjamin for standing up for justice, dignity and righteousness. For the first time in years, I feel that justice can live in Selma!

I would also like to thank Dr. James Mitchell, president of the local community college named after a man that created an atmosphere of hate culminating in the deaths of four girls inside Birmingham's Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and two boys outside the church. As we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of these acts of domestic terror, it's good to have a man named James Mitchell using excellence and vision transforming a college bearing the name of George Wallace. Last week, Dr. Shabaz of the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Joyce King of the University of Georgia, and Dr. Robert White of Alabama State University lead two days of workshops that inspired and informed area teachers to infuse black history into the subjects they teach. The Tuskegee Ensemble Theater performed the musical, "Tuskegee Rising" which teared-up many in the auditorium. Thank you, Dr. Mitchell, for bringing these events to your campus!

Thank you people of Selma and the Black Belt who continue to fight for justice and democracy for all of us! Hopefully, Susan Keith, Greg Bjelke, Benny Tucker, and Cecil Williamson will one day see the light that reveals the real meaning of the Declaration of Independence!

Report: CIA using polygraph tests to ensure Benghazi operations stay secret

 https://si0.twimg.com/profile_images/3033065715/04efe972b0e5703db728c9c05d349d0a.png

The CIA allegedly had "dozens" of agency operatives on the ground at the U.S. diplomatic annex in Benghazi, Libya, during last year's deadly terrorist attack that ended with the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Langley is taking extreme measures to mask the agency's operations in Benghazi and in northern Libya at the time of the strike, according to CNN.

Agency employees involved with CIA operations in the country are being subjected to monthly polygraph tests, among other counterintelligence measures, an unnamed source told CNN.

Those efforts, according to the source, are part of a larger effort to suppress any information from Congress or the public of U.S. intelligence operations that might have been taking place at the CIA annex to the consulate.

Arkansas School District Arms Teachers Because Hiding And Locking The Doors “Is Not A Plan”

Via NC Renegade

Good to go!:)

A Clarksville, Arkansas school district, backed by a little-known state law, has begun a rigorous training program so that members of the staff can carry concealed at school.
…more than 20 teachers, administrators and other school employees in this town … will carry concealed weapons throughout the school day, making use of a little-known Arkansas law that allows licensed, armed security guards on campus. After undergoing 53 hours of training, Dougan and other teachers at the school will be considered guards. (source)
Staff members will receive 53 hours of training that is geared towards responding to school shooter scenarios from Nighthawk Custom Training Academy, a private training facility in northwest Arkansas. “That teacher is going to respond to one thing and one thing alone, and that’s someone is in the building either actively or attempting to kill people,” explained Jon Hodoway, director of training for Nighthawk.
