The Empire Strikes Back: Jeff Sessions out as Budget Committee Chair

 http://dailysignal.com/wp-content/uploads/cnpphotos050177.jpg

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) is giving up his bid to become the next Budget Committee chairman — deferring to Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and eliminating the only competitive chairmanship battle in the incoming GOP Senate majority.
Sessions has been the panel’s top Republican for the past four years but Enzi technically retains seniority over the Alabaman on the committee and said several weeks ago that he would challenge Sessions for the chairmanship. This is going to portrayed as a simple matter of seniority. It isn’t. That story has the same veracity and, indeed, the same source as the story that Senator Ted Cruz’s opposition to Obama’s immigration power grab led to the approval of stalled Obama nominees: Mitch McConnell.

    1. Looks like a 3rd party is an absolute must, of course if successful, they may be taken up by filthy lucre.

  2. Water-wings for the passengers of the Titanic. Too little too late.
    That aside;
    The concept of "seniority" in what is actually a temp job is sickening. Sorry, you have NO seniority -your job started on the most recently passed election day, with a fresh mandate from the voters of your district; it will end on the next election. If you are re-elected, then good for you -the Boss decided to give you another Temp job in the same office. Seniority... What next? These lickspittles get to perhaps grant themselves tenure or something?

  3. You may be correct in your assertion of "too little, too late" True Blue, but I beg to differ with your view of seniority. In the U.S. Senate, seniority is very relevant.

  4. Ha! Rush called this one over a month ago. Said Sessions would be forced out of the budget committee because he wouldn't support amnesty and wanted to defund ozerocare.

    Rush really sees what is going on....a bit like Matt Bracken....I wonder if he realizes the potential danger approaching?
