Morality in Media Annual Dirty Dozen List for 2014: Holder Wins!

 MIM_DD_2014_600x600_withweb

Morality in Media announces the 2014 Dirty Dozen List, a compilation of the leading facilitators of pornography in America.

The 2014 Dirty Dozen List highlights offenders with an explanation of how they contribute to a culture of sexual exploitation. The campaign provides actions the public can take to persuade these individuals and organizations to change their policies and practices. These include calls and letters to headquarters, and social media interaction.

“Once again Attorney General Eric Holder tops our Dirty Dozen List for his support of pornographers over children and families,” said Patrick A. Trueman, President of Morality in Media. “As the pandemic of harm from pornography grows, Holder gives criminal pornographers the green light to proceed by stopping all enforcement of federal obscenity laws.”

Among others, the latest List includes the social networking site Tumblr for its embrace of pornographic offerings, PlayStation for it’s live streamed pornography and sexually violent games, and Verizon for its FIOS TV porn offerings including many with child or teen themes, sexual slavery plots, and racial overtones.

Those companies from the 2013 List, which have been excluded from the current List, have not necessarily ceased profiting from pornography but made improvements. They included the Pentagon for halting sales of porn in the Army and Air Force exchanges, and Comcast for improving parental controls.

“These Dirty Dozen companies profit daily from the sexual exploitation of others and our campaign against them will not stop until their exploitation stops. Many of them may be in violation of current, enforceable U.S. obscenity laws that prohibit the distribution of obscene or hardcore pornography,” said Dawn Hawkins, Morality in Media’s executive director.

For more information on this campaign, go to the Dirty Dozen website. The full, updated list includes:

Texas Lt. Governor: We Shut Down the Border Ourselves

Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst announced a Texas-led three-week effort that he says reduced illegal immigration, smuggling, and human trafficking to a standstill in the Rio Grande River section of the U.S./Mexico border.

The Lt. Governor spoke with me in an interview for Breitbart News; he stated: “In the Rio Grande Valley sector, nearly nothing moved in those three weeks. We shut it down. We had teams of Texas law enforcement in the brush, high altitude aircraft, gun boats, and more," he explained. “Our intel revealed that the Gulf cartel was growing frustrated with our three-week effort.”

“The border issue is just about dollars and cents,” Dewhurst said. “This proves Texas can do the job the federal government has refused to do — to invest in the border and shut it down from illegal activities that are hurting Texans and other Americans.” He added: "Texas will protect our own citizens and other Americans from the criminal gangs that are destabilizing our state and our nation.”

Videos Of Russian Troops And Helicopters Moving Through Crimea

Via LH

 Russian Mi-24 Hind

Russian troops and pro-Russian militia forces now have full military control of Crimea without a shot being fired, and Russian troops and helicopters continue to pour into the region.  Not that there really was ever any doubt about what was going to happen in Crimea.  As I wrote about yesterday, Russia will never, ever let Crimea go without a fight.  The Russian Black Sea fleet’s base at Sevastopol is simply way too strategically important.  But it is still shocking to see video of dozens of Russian attack helicopters and dozens of Russian armored personnel carriers heading toward Sevastopol.

The acting president of Ukraine says that Russia “has invaded Ukraine” and is attempting to “annex Crimea”.  The former president, Viktor Yanukovych, insists that he is still the rightful democratically-elected president of Ukraine and he is calling on Russia to intervene militarily in his nation.

Meanwhile, Russia is calling on the new government in Kiev to honor “the peace deal signed last Friday, Feb. 21, by Yanukovych and the opposition, notarized by the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and Poland and approved by the US.”

But Russia is not just sitting around and waiting for the new government in Kiev to honor the peace agreement that was made.

Rather, Russia has been very busy moving their chess pieces around the board.

Grant’s Cold Philosophy of War

Grant’s unlimited supply of troops made him indifferent to high casualties from massed assaults, thus earning him the nickname “Butcher”; it was his policy to refuse humanitarian prisoner exchanges which would have saved the lives of thousands of captured Northern men.  His postwar administration as president was described as “extravagant, wasteful and corrupt . . . destitute of principle,” and “held together only by the cohesive power of public plunder.”

North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission

Grant’s Cold Philosophy of War

“It is most unfortunate that the name of Grant cannot be added to [the] list of those of the [North’s] greater leaders who sought to lessen the horrors of war.  It seems clear, however, that while ultimately displaying a splendid magnanimity at Appomattox that must evermore be a tribute to him, General Grant must have known of the terrible suffering of the prisoners of war and of the desolation created by Sherman and Sheridan, if indeed, he did not sanction and encourage the forces of destruction.

Let us believe that he could not have fully recognized the extent of this suffering, and that he conscientiously thought that final victory would be hastened by these processes, ignoring the present terror and the aftermath of bitterness.

Such has been the cold philosophy of some commanders at other times and places. Because of his simple greatness at Appomattox, therefore, it must be assumed that Grant did not realize what was being done, just as, during his eight years, as President, he refrained from checking the horrors of Reconstruction – now generally recognized to have been a process of despoliation and ruin carried on in times of peace under the guise of law and order.”

Racist Lecturer Delivers Anti-Republican Rant at Public University

A guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, a public school, began class Tuesday with a racist, anti-Republican rant that went on for more than ten minutes.

The guest lecturer, Eyon Biddle, is the political and organizing director for Service Employees International Union Local 150. Biddle was speaking in the freshman general education course “Education 130: Individual and Society,” which allegedly “examines how people influence and are affected by their social worlds from the perspectives of anthropology, psychology, sociology, and women’s studies.”

In a video taken by a student in the class, obtained by Campus Reform, Biddle blames “white rage” for the failure of the Badger State’s 2010 recall attempt against Republican Governor Scott Walker. The union organizer goes on to say that American values are those of “division, racism, sexism, and classism.”

Restaurant chain adds Obamacare surcharge to customers’ bills

U.S. President Barack Obama (L) stops for a beer at the bar of Gator

A chain of Florida restaurants are making customers pick up the tab for the company’s mandatory participation in the Affordable Care Act — with a surcharge to every bill to help cover the cost of providing health care to their employees.

Eight Gator’s Dockside restaurants have started putting an “ACA Surchar” on every customer’s bill. The new charge adds one percent to the total check, which would mean 15 cents for an average $15 lunch according to a CNN report.

“The costs associated with ACA compliance could ultimately close our doors,” a sign outside one restaurant reads. “Instead of raising prices on our products to generate the additional revenue needed to cover the costs of ACA compliance, certain Gator’s Dockside locations have implemented a 1 percent surcharge on all food and beverage purchases only.”

Ruger: Job growth will be in North Carolina

CEO says all factories in N.H., Ariz. and N.C. should have equal workforces

Sturm Ruger & Co.’s new factory in North Carolina has 100 workers focusing on new products, but the company hopes that the facility eventually might relieve the “pressure” on its existing workforce in New Hampshire and Arizona, CEO Michael O. Fifer said in an earnings call Wednesday.

“We may relieve some of the capacity constraints in Newport (N.H.) or Prescott (Ariz.) in moving existing products,” he said, adding that he would like all the factories – which currently employ a total of about 2,400 – to have the same size workforce.

“If you look at a workforce of 1,000 people in a factory, you might have 800 terrific folks, but when you are stretching that hard, the last 100 people you hired might not be the folks you hired if you had a choice, so if I can over time get manned enough and get enough products in there (North Carolina) to take a little of the pressure off the other two plants, we’ll be better off for it,” Fifer said.

Whispers persist that Hillary won’t run: Health may be worse than disclosed

If you listen to the chattering class in Washington, D.C., Hillary Clinton is a virtual certainty for the 2016 Democratic nomination, and the front-runner in the next presidential race.

But in private, rumors persist that the former Secretary of State may not even be capable of making it to Iowa and New Hampshire. Clinton, these skeptics often say, will not run for president again because of health concerns.

These ubiquitous rumors of her health have been fueled in part by the supermarket tabloids. The National Enquirer wrote in 2012 that Clinton had brain cancer, something a spokesman dismissed then as “absolute nonsense.” In January of this year, the Globe claimed that Clinton secretly had a brain tumor.

Ukraine accuses Russia of 'armed invasion' after Crimea airports blockaded

Ukranian minister accuses Russia of an armed takeover of Crimea amid reports that airports have been seized

Ukraine accused Russia of staging an "armed invasion" of Crimea on Friday as the ex-Soviet state's ousted leader prepared to emerge defiant from five days of hiding after winning protection from Moscow.
Unidentified armed men were patrolling outside of Crimea's main airport early Friday while gunmen were also reported to have seized another airfield on the southwest of the peninsula where ethnic Russians are a majority and where pro-Moscow sentiment runs high.

Mother Jones: Study Shows Global Warming May Cause More Rape

The phenomenon of global warming has been used to explain many things, but now Mother Jones is quoting a study saying it might cause more rapes of women.

Matthew Ranson, an economist, avers that there is a historical connection between warmer temperatures and increased crime. He said, "Looking at the past, we see a strong relationship between temperature and crime. We think that is likely to continue in the future."

Ranson utilized the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's projections of the effects of global warming in the U.S. to estimate that between 2010 and 2099, warmer temperatures will "cause" an additional "22,000 murders, 180,000 cases of rape, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, 2.3 million simple assaults, 260,000 robberies, 1.3 million burglaries, 2.2 million cases of larceny, and 580,000 cases of vehicle theft."

That amounts to 2.2% more murders and 3.1% more rapes. John Roman, a senior fellow at the Urban Institute's Justice Policy Center, agreed with Ranson that the warmer temperatures would indeed be a problem, saying, "To the extent that climate change causes people to be out and interacting more, there will be more crime."

Bull's-eye on bus drivers: 'Are you bleeding?'

Driving a bus is one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. The danger doesn’t come from accidents, but from the violence directed at bus drivers who say it is an everyday part of their lives when they are behind the wheel.

And an overwhelming amount of that lawlessness is black mob violence, black-on-white crime or comes from black people.

One of the latest – and most vicious – attacks came Tuesday in Olympia, Wash. And it is caught on video: All 28 punches to the driver’s face when he was largely defenseless.

The video begins with the driver telling Kiel Duggins to leave the bus because he is harassing passengers and using abusive language. Duggins refuses: “I have the right to hit you in the face,” he said. “And fight to the death.”

Court: School OK to Ban Flag Shirts on Cinco de Mayo

 http://universalfreepress.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/300.jpg

A Northern California high school's decision to order students wearing American flag T-shirts to turn the garments inside out during a celebration of the holiday Cinco de Mayo was appropriate, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the school officials' concerns of racial violence outweighed students' freedom of expression rights. Administrators feared the American-flag shirts would enflame the passions of Latino students celebrating the Mexican holiday. Live Oak High School, in the San Jose suburb of Morgan Hill, had a history of problems between white and Latino students on that day.

Federal Reserve's Yellen: Congress Should Look at Bitcoin Regulation

Gee, how surprised we are............

The U.S. Congress should look into legal options for regulating virtual currencies such as bitcoin, Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said on Thursday.

Japan-based bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox went dark on Tuesday, leaving customers unable to access their accounts. Experts have warned they might not have much recourse to recover their money.

Yellen said the Fed had no jurisdiction over bitcoins, which are created using a network of computers that solve complex mathematical problems and are not traded or held by banks.

Spike Lee Voices Profane, Segregationist Rant Against Whites

Via Billy

Photo Credit: David Shankbone (Creative Commons)

One can only imagine the understandable outrage of the mainstream media had the races in this diatribe been reversed.

Filmmaker Spike Lee recently made some shocking remarks regarding the influx of white residents into traditionally black neighborhoods. Decades after the American civil rights movement marked the end of our shameful segregation policy, Lee apparently wants to bring back the institution by keeping Caucasians out of his New York neighborhood.

His lengthy rant, complete with the liberal use of profanity, left little doubt that he wants to maintain exclude whites “in the south Bronx, in Harlem, in Bed Stuy, in Crown Heights” and other traditionally black communities.

“You can’t just come in the neighborhood and start bogarting and say, like you’re [expletive] Columbus and kill off the Native Americans,” he said. Lee asserted that whites bring with them their culture and effectively ruin the experience of being black in such neighborhoods.

While Evils Are Sufferable

http://izquotes.com/quotes-pictures/quote-mankind-are-more-disposed-to-suffer-while-evils-are-sufferable-than-to-right-themselves-by-thomas-jefferson-94068.jpg

Make your will and more.

Jefferson wrote, in the Declaration of Independence:

...mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

While evils are sufferable. Are they still? How much more are a people supposed to suffer at the hands of unrestrained and lawless government? Is not every day spent wondering, dreading the next dictates from on high? Is there not a sense that there is no recourse to the unconstitutional acts of the bureaucracy? Is there not a feeling that the Supreme Court is acting against the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness inherent to every free individual?

It is clearly the intent of the Constitution to secure these rights, it is the very purpose of its construction to do so, yet time and time again the Court finds in favor of government power against the liberty of the people.
