Another Hamas Commander Blows Himself Up :)

Via Angry Mike

Thirty-year old Ibrahim Nagib al-Ghoul, a commander in Hamas, (a terrorist group that controls the Gaza Strip) for all intents and purposes self-destructed. The event that appears to be a major misfortune was attributed as a “workplace accident.” According to Palestinian media outlets, nine other members of Hamas’s al-Qassam brigades (a militant wing of Hamas) were injured in the “accident."

The “maliciousness and corruption of former IRS official Lois Lerner are now clear.”

This report underscores what we have known for many months now,” Sekulow said.

The committee said its report makes clear “the extent to which Lerner acted to ensure that the agency intentionally waged a battle against conservative 501(c)(4)’s, violating their rights of freedom of speech and association, because it had an ideological disagreement with the Supreme Court and with the Tea Party.”

“It’s not the job of the IRS to overrule the Supreme Court, and it’s not the job of the IRS to crush political movements its leaders dislike,” the committee said. “Her deep involvement in this scheme raises even more questions about who else was involved – including at the White House.”

GOP wins special election for Florida House seat

Republican David Jolly defeated Democrat Alex Sink in a hotly contested special election Tuesday for the U.S. House with a campaign in which he championed repeal of President Obama's health care law and said Sink would be a vote to advance the president's agenda.

Jolly is a lobbyist and former aide to the late Rep. C.W. "Bill" Young, whose death last October sparked the special election. Jolly was backed by Young's family and while he was outspent two-to-one by Sink's campaign, a flood of nearly $5 million in outside money evened the playing field in a race in which nearly $12 million was spent, including $9 million of outside special interest money.

He narrowly defeated Sink by 3400 votes, 48.4%-46.5%, in a district contained entirely within Pinellas County. While Sink displayed an early advantage with early and mail-in vote tallies, Jolly rebounded with a strong Election Day turnout among GOP voters.

NSA whistleblower accuses Dianne Feinstein of double standards, pointing out her lack of concern about widespread surveillance of ordinary citizens

The whistleblower Edward Snowden accused the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee of double standards on Tuesday, pointing out that her outrage at evidence her staff were spied on by the CIA was not matched by concern about widespread surveillance of ordinary citizens.

Snowden, the former contractor whose disclosures to journalists revealed widespread surveillance by the National Security Agency, was responding to an explosive statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein about the CIA’s attempts to undermine a congressional investigation into interrogation and detention.

In a surprisingly combative statement on the Senate floor on Tuesday, Feinstein, who has been widely criticised by privacy experts for failing to hold the NSA to account, accused the CIA of conducting potentially unconstitutional and criminal searches on computers used by her staff.

The remarks put the Democratic senator on a collision course with the CIA’s director, John Brennan, who strongly denied “hacking” the committee’s computers. Feinstein described the controversy as “a defining moment for the oversight of our intelligence community”.

Terry's Texas Rangers Reunion Photo Including a Black CSA Veteran

Large

Terry's Texas Rangers Reunion Photograph, 1913, 10" x 8" albumen on a grey 13.5" x 11.75" paperboard. This photo features many gray-bearded Rangers posing with their friends and family-over fifty people in all-on a sunny day at the entrance of a grand brick building at San Marcos, Texas. In the lower left corner reads, "Terry's Texas Rangers / and Friends / San Marcos, Texas / October 29, 1913."

Near the center stands a black member of the unit, wearing his reunion ribbon over his left breast.

The name of this Confederate veteran is unknown. (Another photograph from 1913 exists featuring only the veterans in the same location without family and friends; the black veteran is in that photo too.) Photographs of black Confederate veterans, particularly those from Texas, are rare.

This storied cavalry unit was one of the most famous Texas outfits serving in the Civil War.

Organized at Houston in September 1861 by Benjamin Franklin Terry, the Rangers-formally known as the 8th Texas Cavalry-fought numerous Civil War military engagements, including many under General Nathan Bedford Forest near the end of the war. Colonel Terry, unfortunately, was killed in the unit's first engagement in Kentucky in December 1861. The volunteers went on to fight honorably at the battles of Shiloh, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and the Atlanta Campaign. The regiment officially mustered out on April 26, 1865, but most continued fighting in other Confederate units.

Estimate: $1,200 - $1,500.

Gun Law Critic, James Kaleda, Targeted By NJ State Police – ARRESTED

 James Kaleda

Last week I broke the story of well known and outspoken NJ Gun Law Critic, James Kaleda, being targeted by the New Jersey State Police over claims that he provided false information on a NJ Non Resident Firearms I.D. Card Application.

At that time I promised that I would be following the story closely and update readers as things developed.

Well, they have. Early last week James advised, via Social Media, that Police Officers from Pennsylvania were at his home and he was being taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by the NJ State Police for the charge of providing false information on a NJ Non Resident Firearms I.D. Card Application.
An offense that is treated as a third degree felony in New Jersey,  punishable by up to five years in State Prison if convicted.
Mr Kaleda was detained and is currently being held in the Northampton County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania. An extradition hearing was held on Friday March 7th 2014, when extradition was waived. Mr Kaleda now awaits NJ State Police Authorities to have him transferred to NJ before he can go before a NJ Judge to post bail. A process which the State apparently has up to ninety days to complete.

Mr Kaleda has retained noted NJ Firearms Law Expert and Attorney, Evan Nappen, for his defense. Mr Nappen has stated he plans to mount a vigorous defense of his client on the charges.
Obviously this situation has raised significant concerns and alarms for the over 1 million Citizens of NJ who own firearms and could easily find themselves in a similar situation.

Sessions: global warming alarmists spreading ‘deliberate misinformation’

Via Billy

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama took to the floor of the Senate this week and delivered a harsh critique of the Climate Change Caucus’s efforts. Sessions said their all night talk-a-thon was pointless, considering the fact that Democrats hold the majority and could bring legislation to address the issue if they wanted to act against the will of the American people.

“Why wouldn’t the Majority Leader bring a bill to the Senate floor to approve President Obama’s climate agenda?” Sessions asked. “[Because] the American people do not support this and neither does most of Congress.”

Sessions also said the claims of global warming alarmists have escalated from exaggerations to outright misinformation.

“Exaggeration isn’t even a fair word to describe it,” he said. “It has become deliberate misinformation. … The climate is not warming faster than experts predicted as the president claimed.”

One account I read in "Early Settlers of Lawrence County and Alabama" states that when the men were about to be executed, they were on the their knees and one facing away from the Mexicans. One of the men stood up and said, "Boys, they are going to kill us---die with your faces to them, like men!"

In November of 1835, urges for help went out to newspapers throughout the United States. One such urge printed in the Huntsville Democrat read:

“If Volunteers from the U. States will join their brethren in this section, they will receive liberal bounties of land. We have millions of acres of our best land unchosen and unappropriated. Let each man come with a good rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition – and come soon. Our war-cry is “Liberty or Death.” Our principles are to support the Constitution, and DOWN WITH THE USURPER!”

Malaysia's military believes it tracked a missing jetliner by radar over the Strait of Malacca, far from where it last made contact with civilian air traffic control

19.00 There is a discussion raging on this professional pilot's internet forum concerning loss of Malaysia Airlines mystery.
17.50 Malaysia Airlines has released a statement saying that it is "shocked" by allegations aired in an Australian news programme of a past cockpit security breach involving the co-pilot on its missing passenger jet.

Among those aboard were First Officer Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27, who along with a fellow pilot violated airline rules in 2011 by allowing two young South African women into their cockpit during a flight, one of the women told Sydney-based Nine Network.

The report included photos of the women in the cockpit, with one appearing to show them posing with a man resembling Fariq. Passengers have been prohibited from entering the cockpit during a flight after the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

"Malaysia Airlines has become aware of the allegations being made against First Officer Fariq Abdul Hamid which we take very seriously. We are shocked by these allegations," a statement by the airline said.

No militia means more intrusive law enforcement

Our Framers didn't envision a free state with the current level of government control.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

For a while, some argued that the so-called "prefatory clause" — "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State" — somehow limited the "right of the people" to something having to do with a militia. In its recent opinions of District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago, the Supreme Court has made clear that the Second Amendment does recognize a right of individuals to own guns, and that that right is in no way dependent upon membership in a militia.

That seems to me to be entirely correct.

Inhofe: Obama Wasted $120 Billion on Global Warming Which Could Buy 1400 F-35s

F-35

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Wednesday at a hearing on the Defense Department’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget that President Barack Obama has wasted $120 billion on global warming over the past five years – money that would be better spent on the military.

“I've been working on this for quite some time ... In the last five years, between 2009 and 2014, the president has spent $120 billion on the environmental agenda, mostly global warming, climate and that type of thing,” said Inhofe. “And in that respect, if you'll just take the amount that was not authorized by Congress -- and I'm talking about the environmental agenda, you could actually buy 1,400 F-35s.”

Senate Panel Chair Wants CIA Apology Over Computer Search

Via Billy "LIBERALS DON`T LIKE IT WHEN THEY ARE SPIED ON BY THE GESTAPO ORGANIZATIONS THEY HELPED OBAMA CREATE"

The CIA searched a congressional computer network, possibly violating the separation of powers between the branches of government, said the chairman of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee.
The breach involved the removal in 2010 of hundreds of pages of documents from secure machines provided to the committee by the CIA, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said in a speech on the Senate floor. “On two occasions, CIA personnel electronically removed committee access to CIA documents after providing them to the committee,” she said. “This was done without the knowledge or approval of committee members and staff and in violation of our written agreements.

Feinstein angrily denounced the CIA's actions, saying it appeared to be a bid to intimidate lawmakers from holding the spy agency accountable.

DHS agents train weapons on innocent neighbors

Department of Homeland Security snipers trained their weapons on frightened residents during a raid on a nearby apartment in East Williamsburg, with neighbors complaining of how they were “utterly confused and frankly terrorized” during the incident.

The combined federal/NYPD drugs bust started in the early hours of Sunday morning when a low flying helicopter startled East Williamsburg and Bushwick residents, before streets were blocked off, preventing people from going home.

“Witnesses spotted a big Department of Homeland Security truck as well as DHS agents toting machine guns as they raided 221 Devoe Street,” reports the Gothamist.

Gun Owners Prepare to Seize Senate from Harry Reid

Not a GOA member yet?  Click here to join Gun Owners of America!  And Click here to Take Action on today’s alert.

At GOA’s request, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has bypassed Harry Reid’s stranglehold on the Senate by bringing a pro-gun bill directly onto the Senate calendar.

The bill is H.R. 4118, and it was approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday by a 250-160 vote.  (See the vote here, with “Yea” being the pro-gun vote.)  The bill would suspend the individual mandate of the anti-gun ObamaCare program for one year, thus protecting the privacy of gun owners.

Normally, bills that pass out of one chamber are referred to a committee in the other chamber.  But Senator Paul intervened by using a parliamentary technique to bring H.R. 4118 onto the calendar, rather than letting it be referred to a Senate committee.

Now that H.R. 4118 is “on the calendar,” this means that ANY SENATOR can now “move to proceed” to the bill, thereby CIRCUMVENTING HARRY REID'S STRANGLEHOLD over the Senate agenda.
This is huge.

It is important to gun owners because ObamaCare lays the groundwork for taking millions of Americans -- those taking anxiety medications or who have PTSD or ADHD -- and feeding their names into NICS's gun-ban database.

It is important because, already, Obama, by executive fiat, has waived federal privacy laws to clear the way for these gun bans.

It is important because it forces weak-kneed senators running for reelection -- senators who claim they want to "fix" ObamaCare -- to vote, up or down, on whether to let 30,000,000 Americans facing hundreds of dollars of penalties off the hook.

It is important because it opens the door for “motions to proceed” to other pro-gun bills, including legislation restoring veterans' rights and creating national reciprocity for concealed carry rights (both of which have close to 60 votes).

It is important because it allows us to compile a target list of vulnerable senators who claim they want to "fix" ObamaCare -- just as Nancy Pelosi is trying to use a "discharge petition" in the House on the anti-gun amnesty bill to create a target list of GOP members.

Now, we are asking Rand Paul and other senators to begin circulating a letter of support in the Senate for a “motion to proceed” to the ObamaCare suspension, H.R. 4118.

There are procedural niceties to forcing consideration of the motion to proceed, but our parliamentary experts are working with senators to show them how to accomplish this -- and to get this bill sent to the President.

Well, you might ask, isn't Obama just going to veto H.R. 4118?  GOA’s Legislative Counsel Michael Hammond discusses the answer to this question in a recent Red State piece.

But the answer is that sending H.R. 4118 to Obama would put him in a real bind.  We believe that Obama will eventually be forced to delay the mandate, and that H.R. 4118 will create an inextricable conundrum for him -- as it will give credit to Rand Paul (and other pro-gunners) in the Congress for having forced the issue.

ACTION:  Call or  Click here to write your senators.  Ask them to support the motion to proceed to H.R. 4118, which will suspend ObamaCare's individual mandate for one year.

Nothing says constitutional usurpation like the War on Drugs and welfare benefits for foreigners. Clearly, the three branches of the federal government have decided the Constitution is an antiquated collection of suggestions on how the United States is to be governed. That it's subordinate to the latest neo-communist nostrum or expropriation goes without saying. The states have long since given up their role as sovereign entities and are now content to serve as servile, administrative subdivisions of the federal government, says Colonel Bunny in this article at Intergalactic Source of Truth.

Question: What test was created to eliminate the advantages that wealthy families used to influence and advance their children’s educational cause? Answer: The Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT): a test created to end the discrimination and aristocracy in college admissions. Problem: The College Board is overhauling the SAT to “level the playing field” for high school students from a wider range of families. Let’s be candid here; to end inequality of results some want to change the SAT so they can use discrimination and inequitable practices. That’s just stunning hypocrisy and hubris, says Dean Kalahar in this article, Changing the SAT for 'Social Justice', at American Thinker.
