Brainwashing Over-Educated American Liberals

".........the Communists were unable to brainwash the Southern Negro prisoners they captured in Korea who had been raised in such religious families as you describe.”

**********************************

The writer of “The Cuban Dilemma” was for twenty-five years the resident New York Times correspondent in Havana, and viewed the transition of power from Batista to Castro first-hand.

Blaming “incredibly inadequate American policy in foreign affairs” for the debacle, she castigated Times colleague Herbert Matthews “whose editorials . . . persuaded the US Government that the bearded revolutionary was a benevolent blend of Abraham Lincoln and Robin Hood.”

Brainwashing Over-Educated American Liberals

“A Senate Internal Security sub-committee, on September 10, 1960, blamed US State Department officials and segments of the American press for helping bring Castro to power. Senators James O. Eastland, Democrat of Mississippi, and Thomas J. Dodd, Democrat, of Connecticut, members of the sub-committee, after hearing testimony of former Ambassadors Earl E.T. Smith and Arthur Gardner said: “Cuba was handed to Castro in the same way China was handed to the communists.”

The two Ambassadors singled out William Wieland, director of the State Department’s Caribbean division, Roy R. Runbottom, Jr., former Assistant Secretary of State for Latin American Affairs, at the time Ambassador to Argentina, and Herbert Matthews of the New York Times.  The Senators charged that the State Department group “misguided the American people.”

When Wieland was in Havana during the Castro revolution, I asked him why the State Department did not tell Batista to stop torturing and killing, either oust his corrupt military men or get out and let the OAS or the UN hold elections.  Wieland insisted that the United States could not “interfere.”

I pointed out that the United States was interfering all over the world – so why not in Cuba before the United States had something worse to contend with there?

This idea of “social revolution” has a great appeal for our so-called “liberals,” who do not realize that social revolution is the cloak under which the Communists hide.

About that time an old Cuban friend came into the office much excited over a book on Communist brainwashing. He had been a devout follower of Castro and now was completely disillusioned.

“I haven’t read the book,” I said, “but I can tell you the American who is the easiest to brainwash.  It is the educated person who has usually gone through college and is trying to be a liberal.  He is frightened by any talk of conservatism and really doesn’t know what he believes. You were one of them when Castro got hold of you.”

The Cuban grinned and said, “You are right, that is about what the book said. Now tell me, who is the hardest to brainwash?”

“A person, not too well educated perhaps, but one who has been raised by a God-fearing family, who has been taught honesty and respect of property and all the virtues we are supposed to have in the United States.”

“How right you are,” he said.  “The book points out that the Communists were unable to brainwash the Southern Negro prisoners they captured in Korea who had been raised in such religious families as you describe.” Then he added, “There must be something wrong with the American education.”

He was a graduate of one of the United States great universities.”

 Jefferson Davis

Back in early June of this year an anniversary came and passed, almost unnoticed by most pundits and the media. June 3 was the two-hundred and sixth anniversary of the birth of Jefferson Davis.

Born in Kentucky in 1808, actually not far from the birthplace of his future nemesis, Abraham Lincoln, Davis in another time might have risen to become in his own right a celebrated president of the United States. As it was, it was his thankless duty to captain the forlorn Confederacy through four years of tragic and bloody war which saw the end not only of the society and culture he loved, but, in effect, the practical end of  the old constitutional republic originally set up by the Founders.

From a good family and with advantages that augured well for future prominence, Davis at an early age demonstrated both leadership potential and intelligence.

Like many other well-bred Southern boys of the period, he received a superb classical education. In 1815 Davis entered the Catholic school of Saint Thomas at St. Rose Priory, a school operated by the Dominican Order in Washington County, Kentucky. At the time, he was the only Protestant student (he was an Episcopalian) at the school. He would carry a strong affection for the Catholic Church throughout his life. His famous correspondence with Pope Pius IX, an inveterate foe of liberalism in any form and who was pro-Confederate, is famous. After the war, while Davis was a prisoner in Fortress Monroe, Virginia, the Blessed Pius IX wove a cross of real thorns with his own hands and sent it to Davis (the Crown is now in the Confederate Museum in New Orleans). In their exchanges the pope always addressed Davis formally as a head of state, implicitly recognizing him and the Confederacy de jure.

Russia Cuts Off All Gas Supplies To Ukraine

 _74183143_pipelinesgraphic

Russia has totally cut off all gas supplies to Ukraine in an escalation of the dispute between the countries. Gazprom, the Russian supplier of Ukrainian gas is said to be owed a total of $4.5bn, and it wants a payment of $1.95bn today. If the payment had been made by 0600 this morning GMT, Gas would have continued to flow from Russia.

Talking to the BBC Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuri Prodan said.

“Gas supplies to Ukraine have been reduced to zero,”

Gazprom had previously issued several warnings and has now moved to pre-payment from the Ukrainian company Naftogas that is the middleman for all supplies piped into the Ukraine.

Grant’s Whole Phantasmagoria of Insolent Fraud

 http://www.jpattitude.com/Images/Grant.jpg

Without the honest and conservative stability of Southern elected leaders, the US Congress after 1861 descended into a morass of corruption, free-spending and alliances with corporate interests which fleeced the taxpayers. With Radical Republicans in absolute control of the government, and an unwary political neophyte elected president with manipulated and fraudulent votes in 1868, the Gilded Age of unrestrained finance capitalism and public officials for sale was a foregone conclusion.

Grant’s Whole Phantasmagoria of Insolent Fraud:

“All the cost of the Civil War can, in fact, not be learned from Grant, and though he presided over the country in the White House for eight years after the war (1869-1877), the consequences of Northern victory, with its unleashing of the money-grabbing interests, were quite beyond his grasp. Grant’s Memoirs, like the writings of Lincoln, are after all, a literary creation, and intellectual construction with words.  They are a part of that vision of the Civil War that Lincoln imposed on the nation, and we accept them as firsthand evidence of the actualization of that vision.

[F]ormer Vice-President Andrew Johnson . . . was opposed by the Radical Republicans, who even tried to remove him as President and who, in the period of “Reconstruction,” humiliated and exploited the South.  This period would certainly have been difficult for Lincoln. He was dead and safely out of it, but Grant was still alive and only forty-three.

Simple-minded beyond the experience of Wall Street or State Street, he resorted, like most men of the same intellectual caliber, to commonplaces when at a loss for expression: “Let us have peace” . . .

The progress of evolution from President Washington to President Grant, was alone enough to upset Darwin.

He had the idea, for example, that it might be an excellent thing to send some of the freed Negroes to Haiti, and he had taken advantage of a situation created by two rival governments there to draw up with one of its Presidents a treaty for the annexation of the whole island of Santo Domingo.

His appointments to his cabinet were often fantastic: he had no judgment about people in civil life, and he appointed as Secretary of the Treasury the proprietor of a large New York dry-goods store, unaware that anyone in foreign trade was debarred from holding this office; for Minister to France he selected a half-illiterate Illinois Congressman.

Under Grant’s two administrations, there flapped through the national capital a whole phantasmagoria of insolent fraud, while a swarm of predatory adventurers was let loose on the helpless South. There was the Credit Mobilier affair, in which the promoters of the Union Pacific Railroad, who had obtained an immense government loan and twelve millions acres of government land, made a contract with themselves under another name and paid themselves three times more than the cost of building the railroad, in the meantime bribing the congressmen with shares in the imaginary company.

There was the gold conspiracy of [Big] Jim Fisk and Jay Gould, in which Grant was persuaded by these two financiers, without in the least understanding their aims, to assist them in cornering the gold market by causing the United States Treasury to shut off the circulation of gold.  There was the Whiskey Ring, a group of distillers who evade the internal revenue tax by bribing Treasury agents – a scandal that landed at the President’s door when his secretary, a General Babcock who was with him at Appomattox, was shown to have been taking the distillers’ money and to have used it in financing Grant’s campaign.

One can hardly even say that Grant was President except in the sense that he presided at the White House, where the business men and financiers were extremely happy to have him, since he never knew what they were up to. It was the age of the audacious confidence man, and Grant was the incurable sucker.”

“Good Guy With A Gun” May Have Averted a Mass Shooting In East Peoria.

 peoria

Once again, the shooting ended when a good guy with a gun killed the bad guy with a gun.
An off-duty FBI agent may have averted a mass-shooting Saturday night when a gunman walked into a sports bar packed with patrons attending a high school reunion and shot his ex-wife and her new boyfriend.
The gunman was killed when the agent, whom police would only officially identify as an off-duty law enforcement officer and subsequently asked not to be named, shot the suspect after gunfire erupted about 8 p.m. at the Fifth Quarter Sports Bar and Pizzaria.
The suspect and the two targets of his initial burst of gunfire ultimately died — the suspect at the scene and the other man and woman at a Peoria hospital.

Why Did an Upstate New York Town Join the Confederacy?

Via Billy

Readers of The Immigrants’ Civil War know that German immigrants in the North were outspoken opponents of slavery and were extremely active in recruiting German regiments for the Union. But there were Germans who opposed the war, and the story of Town Line, New York, is the most extreme.

Town Line is a small farming hamlet in between Buffalo and Rochester. Back in 1861, it was dominated by recently arrived German Lutherans and settlers from Vermont. In other parts of the country during that period, German immigrants would have opposed slavery and voted accordingly, but in Town Line, the Germans, frightened by local Know Nothings, joined the Democratic Party and opposed Lincoln’s election. Many of them had left Germany to escape army conscription and they were afraid they would soon be drafted into Lincoln’s army.

Janet Napolitano was right.

Five years ago, the office of the then-secretary of the Department of Homeland Security released an assessment on right-wing extremism titled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." Under key findings, the report said DHS "has no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but right-wing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues." The election of the nation's first African American president and the economic downturn were cited as "unique drivers for right-wing radicalization and recruitment."

Critics pounced on a footnote that defined right-wing extremism as "those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial, or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Benedict Obama's Invasion of America

Via  avordvet

If millions of soldiers from south of the border were flooding our nation for the purposes of colonizing our land, we would easily recognize the threat. And if some amongst us were aiding and abetting this invasion -- purposely lowering border security to facilitate it -- we’d know what to call them. And we’d know how they should be dealt with.

This comes to mind when considering the flood of humanity that does continually pour across our border, a phenomenon whose most recent manifestation is the children’s crusade (which includes many teens, some of whom are gang members) currently in the news. Oh, the people trespassing on our land aren’t wearing uniforms; they aren’t wielding cold steel. But this isn’t always necessary. As Muammar Gaddafi once pointed out, some invasions are prosecuted “without sword, without gun, without conquest.” “We don’t need terrorists; we don’t need homicide bombers,” he said. “The 50 plus million Muslims [in Europe] will turn it into the Muslim Continent within a few decades.” Of course, in the waning West, we call this “diversity” and “demographic change.”

Islamic militant group posts images that appear to show mass killings in Iraq

As Iraq’s government bolstered Baghdad's defenses Sunday, the Islamic militant group that captured two major cities last week posted graphic photos that appeared to show its fighters massacring dozens of captured Iraqi soldiers.

The pictures on a militant website appear to show masked fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, loading the captives onto flatbed trucks before forcing them to lie face-down in a shallow ditch with their arms tied behind their backs, according to The Associated Press. The final images show the bodies of the captives soaked in blood after being shot.

Most of the soldiers who appear in the pictures are in civilian clothes. Some are shown wearing military uniforms underneath, indicating they may have hastily disguised themselves as civilians to try to escape.

Darrell Issa Takes Aim at Eric Holder’s Extortion Racket

The nation’s top extortion artist, Eric Holder, is at it again (or still). This time, rather than running guns to Mexican drug cartels or investigating reporters who publish inconvenient facts about the administration’s scandals, Holder is taking aim at America’s small businesses. While Holder and Co have been busy collecting billion dollar fines from big banks, they’ve taken a more direct approach to snub out businesses that don’t necessarily conform with the Holder/Obama view of America.

Pro-Russia Rebels Down Ukraine Jet as Fighting Escalates

Pro-Russian rebels shot down a transport plane in eastern Ukraine, killing 49 servicemen and threatening to ratchet up east-west tensions over suspicions President Vladimir Putin is backing the uprising.

The killing of the 40 soldiers and nine crew was the deadliest strike on Ukrainian forces since separatists seized government buildings on April 6. The IL-76 aircraft went down as it approached Luhansk airport at 1:10 a.m. local time under anti-aircraft and machine-gun fire, authorities including the Kiev-based Prosecutor General’s Office said today.

TV news and internet are covered with headlines like „shocking, captured Iraqis beheaded“ or they killing everyone on their way“ and prisoners executed“ and similar.

And folks who watch and comment on the news and videos who still live in normal world without this kind of crazyiness going on, are shocked of course.

First comments are that those people and groups who are doing that are animals and they need to be bombed to stone age or they are not deserving better anyway and then goes they are all same there, let them kill each other and similar.

While I would definitely like to see that fanatics getting eradicated there, there are more things that should be considered.

Most of the folks are not going to watch video of that violence, because it is too much for them (like this video that „promotes“ ISIS) they will change channel, or simply open the page with news from the „celebrity world“.

People do not want to watch or think about bad things, people want to forget that, and yes, at the end there comes again that famous it cannot happen to us“ idea.

Do you really think that when (not if) SHTF events would be much different in your part of the world?

Do you think that when collapse happens, you and people around you in your town will be somehow able to organize food distribution, security and safety for residents, and all those criminals and sick bastards will somehow disappear, and there is going to be new better society?

I am my father’s son, and for that reason one may see
That something noble and heroic is expected now of me.

I know that each must stand or fall, upon his own account
Each generation bear the justly chargeable amount
It owes to duty; and I know my father could not do
The thing expected of his son, and still, this too, is true:

He left a precious legacy into my keeping; now
I am responsible for this, its safety and just how
It shall be kept untarnished, how its value shall increase
From day to day through trying times of war, or times of peace –

The name I bear, it is the bond, for faithfulness to trust
And to the challenge sacredly, I answer now, “I must.”

I am my father’s son and for that reason one may see
That something noble and heroic is expected now of me.

Brock:
I don't know if you've seen this, but the above is a link to ISIS savagery in Iraq.  It is stomach-churning, so don't watch it with the children around.

I couldn't watch it all.  When it looked like they were getting ready to saw some poor bastard's head off, I had to quit.

But, what I took away from what I saw was that these satanic monkeys got great intel and knew exactly who they were going after...those who had cooperated with the Americans and/or those who supported the current Iraqi government.

These scum had laptops and other portable devices with pictures of policemen and/or soldiers and their IDs.  They stop vehicles and compare notes, then waste the poor dumb SOBs without regard for much of anything or anybody who might get in the way.

These ISIS thugs are ruthless.  They hose down anybody they suspect.  The drive-bys on the highway are outrageous.  No quarter is given.  I don't know why anyone would surrender to them.

Then there's the displays off all the equipment they've stolen...shit you and I paid for and will pay for for the remainder of our lives, our children's lives, and our children's children's lives.

Then there's all our guys who got whacked, maimed, or mentally destroyed over there.  For what?  So they could come home and get fucked over by the VA and our government?

Why would any sane, cognizant person want to "serve" this country?
Yesterday I had a big friends and family gathering to celebrate my twins graduating from high school.  My young niece's husband, a former Florida cop, wants to be a cop here in Indiana, but he says no departments are hiring white guys unless they have military experience.  (This bit of news is fucked up in so many ways I can't count them all.)

So...he has joined the Army Reserve and wants to be a Ranger.  I called him a big dumbass.

You may remember my nephew who was a medic in AssCrackistan and was traumatized when a bunch of his buddies got creamed by IEDs.

Apparently, my niece's young husband has forgotten.  A job's a job, I guess...until one gets sent home in a  gawdamned bag.

It all makes me very sad.  I think this country is pretty much finished.

But...hey...at least Ovomit signed an Executive Order so that student loans are forgiven after 20 years.

The door is wide open for young Mexican gang members to enter the United States to be reunited with their families, frustrating border patrol personnel who are powerless to stop them, The Washington Times reported.

Border Patrol union representatives say that even youths with tattoos identifying them as members of the Mara Salvatrucha gang have unrestricted access to the country.

"If he's a confirmed gang member in his own country, why are we letting him in here? I've heard people come in and say, 'You're going to let me go, just like you let my mother go, just like you let my sister go. You're going to let me go as well, and the government's going to take care of us,'" said Chris Cabrera, of the National Border Patrol Council Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, according to National Review.
