Those Ungovernable Colonists

Via III Percent Patriots

Our founding fathers knew when to build, and when to fight — and what to build, and what to fight.

The American colonies must have been an unruly place, full as they were of religious fanatics and slave traders, second sons and fortune hunters, criminals and former political prisoners, and all manner of people in between. The first settlements hugged the coast, where one set of adventurers looked seaward while another looked to the interior wilderness. It was, in retrospect, almost inevitable that North America would quickly become the wealthiest place in the world by the 17th century.

Why? Because those seditionists, fanatics, and gamblers were impossible to rule. While we are counting our blessings this Thanksgiving, let’s not forget to count that one: Our ancestors did not much like being told what to do, and we — and the world — are immeasurably richer and happier for that.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon adamantly denies that the White House pressured him to resist sending in the National Guard in response to violent protesters unhappy with the Michael Brown shooting decision.

It is clear, however, that Nixon has been in close contact with President Obama's senior advisor Valerie Jarrett as the chaotic situation unfolded. According to the White House, Jarrett spoke with Nixon the first night of the protests as well as the morning after.

Blithering idiot. Stick a fork into him.

Garth Brooks recently expressed his full support for Barack Obama and his administration. Now, he's just digging his hole a little deeper. The Grammy award winning country star cancelled his Thanksgiving appearance on The Tonight Show in order to show solidarity with the rioters of Ferguson, Missouri.

According to the local St. Louis Fox affiliate, "Singer Garth Brooks has canceled a Thanksgiving appearance on NBC's "Tonight" show because he said it "seemed distasteful" given the reaction to the decision not to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown this summer."

Sir Moses Ezekiel: A Great Virginian – A Great Artist - Hero of the Battle of New Market

 Moses

Born in Richmond in 1844, Ezekiel was the first Jewish cadet to attend Virginia Military Institute (VMI).  It was there that he gained the distinction of taking part in the Battle of New Market, a decisive Confederate win during the Civil War.

In 1864, he and other VMI cadets were called up to provide support to General Breckenridge at New Market in the Shenandoah Valley.  Marching 80 miles, the cadets let by VMI Commandant of Cadets Lt. Col. Scott Shipp, met a vastly superior Union force north of Lexington.  Grant’s Union forces outnumbered Confederate troops.  The battle raged for hours, the Union forces split the Confederate front line.  When all seemed lost, VMI cadets surged into the breach, wrestling victory out of almost certain defeat. Ezekiel’s roomate, Thomas Garland Jefferson – grand nephew of President Jefferson – died in Ezekiel’s arms as he tended his friend in a nearby home.

A Moses Ezekiel sculpture – Virginia Mourning Her Dead – permanently commemorates the fallen cadets, and on each May 15, VMI solemnly celebrates “New Market Day” on campus.

Northern Commercial Interests Desire Cuba

 http://stamp-search.com/images/gra0221ss-css-florida.jpg
It is often thought that antebellum Southern slave interests desired Cuban annexation, though Northern commercialism more actively promoted this acquisition. It is noteworthy that US Navy Lt. John Newland Maffitt, later a famed naval captain of the Confederacy, pursued and captured many New England slavers off Cuba in the late 1850’s.

Bernhard Thuersam, Circa1865

Northern Commercial Interests Desire Cuba:

“The United States became especially dependent on shipments of Cuban sugar, for Louisiana plantations in the early nineteenth century could only accommodate about one-third of the national demand for the product. Not only did this trade contribute significantly to the commercial growth of New York City — which became a center for sentiment favoring the annexation of the island — but commercial interests all over the eastern United States were dependent on it.

Many Americans took it for granted that sooner or later the island would gravitate toward the United States . . . and perhaps lead to a more effective suppression of the slave trade, since Cuba was a key station in that traffic. Even in the 1850’s, when the questions of slavery and Cuba became virtually inseparable, two Northern presidents — Franklin Pierce of New Hampshire and James Buchanan of Pennsylvania — made determine efforts to purchase Cuba from Spain.

In the late 1840s . . . pro-annexation elements were investigating a number of ways of getting Americans involved in their cause. [Venezuelan revolutionary] Narciso Lopez . . . emerged as [the Cuban exiles in America] leader . . . [and] Lopez’s main body of troops was with him in New York. [Though Lopez’s efforts failed], he had gained considerable support in New York City and elsewhere in the North. Northerners, as well as exiled Cubans and European revolutionary refugees, had made substantial contributions to his movements in terms of manpower and financing.”

Black Residents Armed With Rifles Stood Guard Outside White-Owned Business During Ferguson Riots

Via WiscoDave

A group of black Ferguson residents armed with high-powered rifles stood outside a white-owned business in the city during recent riots, protecting it from rioters that looted and burned other businesses.

After a grand jury returned no indictment against Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed unarmed black teen Michael Brown, protesters took to the streets and the demonstrations quickly turned into rioting. Several buildings were set ablaze, but a group of heavily armed black men stood outside a Conoco gas station.

In Ferguson, Witness Intimidation, Lying by 'Community of Color'

On Monday night, after the release of the grand jury verdict rejecting indictment of Officer Darren Wilson in the Ferguson, Missouri shooting of 18-year-old black man Michael Brown, President Obama took to the microphones. “We need to recognize that this is not just an issue for Ferguson, this is an issue for America,” he said. “[T]here are still problems and communities of color aren't just making these problems up.”

Obama was wrong, at least in the case of Darren Wilson. In viewing thousands of pages of FBI interviews and grand jury testimony, it becomes eminently clear that many members of the local community did make up the story about Michael Brown being executed by Wilson – and pressured others to lie to police or keep silent.

Zastava PAP M77PS Rifle - Classic AK Styling in .308 Caliber

Anyone have personal knowledge of these?
Check This Out - A .308 Semi Auto at this price is unheard of... Extremely Accurate Too
To me this is the best deal in a large caliber rifle in the U.S.

The brand new Zastava PAP M77 PS has classic AK styling in .308 caliber.

The M77 comes with 1 -10 rd. mag, and features an adjustable gas system for flawless functioning with many types of ammunition.

The cold-forged barrel technology offers excellent accuracy and performance. Key internal components are all machined from solid steel.

We have spent considerable range time with this weapon as well as personally owning one. I love it. Although we don't reccommend it ,mine fires cheap steel case ammo flawlessly ( see attached video ) as well as commercial .308 soft point, and all sorts of surplus military 7.62 x 51 Nato.
And not only does it feed all of these different rounds, the cold forged barrel seems to stabalize all types of different bullet weights for exceptional long range accuracy. Features a bolt hold open safety and a side rail built into the receiver to make mounting a scope a breeze.

This rifle is so multi purpose it could easily be your go to weapon for military and police tactical long range applications ( read sniper ) , heavy bore range competition, or it would even make an excellent hunting rifle with the right loads being capable of taking any big game in North America.

Due to the piston driven action, and the heavy recoil spring and guide rod, felt recoil is actually quite light and manageable and probably only around half of what you would encounter in a bolt action of the same caliber. As you can see from the attached video, backward recoil is actually quite light and manageable even under rapid fire.

Germany's DW Reports ISIS Supply Lines Originate in NATO's Turkey

Via Susan

Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) published a video report of immense implications - possibly the first national broadcaster in the West to admit that the so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS) is supplied not by "black market oil" or "hostage ransoms" but billions of dollars worth of supplies carried into Syria across NATO member Turkey's borders via hundreds of trucks a day.

The report titled, "'IS' supply channels through Turkey," confirms what has been reported by geopolitical analysts since at least as early as 2011 - that NATO member Turkey has allowed a torrent in supplies, fighters, and weapons to cross its borders unopposed to resupply ISIS positions inside of Syria.

WELFARE TERRORISTS: Arrested NBP Members Couldn’t Buy Bomb With Depleted EBT Card

The FBI arrested two members of the New Black Panthers in Ferguson, Missouri late last week on weapons charges, after they used  straw purchases a pair of .45 ACP Hi-Point pistols (one for the other, it seems) and bombs from an FBI informant.

They planned to murder St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson, and then destroy the iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis with three pipe bombs.

Unfortunately for them… well, just read it for yourself.
Sources close to the investigation were uncertain whether the men had the capability to carry out the plans, although the two allegedly did buy what they thought was a pipe bomb in an undercover law enforcement sting.

The men wanted to acquire two more bombs, the sources said, but could not afford to do it until one suspect’s girlfriend’s Electronic Benefit Transfer card was replenished.

Entire county board arrested following citizens arrest by 2 military veterans

Via Susan

illinois, county board members arrested,

Sometimes citizens can be so frustrated with county board members they wish someone could just place them under arrest. Well, that is exactly what citizens in Clark County, Illinois did .

Illinois’ number one manufactured product is corruption. More than 95 percent of the Illinois legislature is safe in gerrymandered districts. The incumbent governor has three current federal investigations of his administration, but the Attorney General/state’s attorney class can’t find public vice anywhere.

Residents that voted in the recent election said they are hoping officials have learned from the past mistakes of others.

So what can the law abiding citizen do? The answer is coming from some regular guys in southern Illinois who decided to hold public officials accountable. They call themselves the “Watchdogs.”
