Shaker Aamer, a Muslim detainee in Guantanamo for the last 13 years, has reportedly been accused by Defense Department officials of a number of serious terror-related offenses. According to the U.K. paper The Telegraph:
U.S. authorities have accused him of being a senior al-Qaida figure, who acted as a ‘special interpreter’ for Osama bin Laden, was trained in the handling of explosives, and with had alleged links to terror networks both in the U.K. and U.S.”
Yet, despite the detailed claims of terror links, the 48-year-old Aamer — the last Gitmo detainee considered to be British — has been cleared by the Obama administration for release from the detention facility. When he returns to the U.K., and to his wife and four children, Shaker Aamer will reportedly receive a rather substantial payment from the British government — an amount equaling close to $1.5 million.

A federal district court in Texas ruled residency requirements for pistol purchases is unconstitutional, directly challenging Attorney General Eric Holder who has argued the federal ban on handguns outside of a person’s state of residence doesn’t violate the second amendment.

In the case, federally licensed firearms dealer Frederic Russell Mance Jr. of Texas and gun buyers Tracey and Andrew Hanson sued Mr. Holder and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director B. Todd Jones claiming the federal ban on the sale of handguns outside of one’s state stops the formation of a national handgun market.

The Hansons, who live in Washington, visited Mr. Mance’s Texas store in June and were unable to buy handguns because of the ban. The ban effectively “reduces competition, raises prices and limits consumer choices,” their joint lawsuit, which was filed in July, alleged.

Rudolph Ivanovich Abel (Hollow Nickel Case)

On the evening of Monday, June 22, 1953, a delivery boy for the “Brooklyn Eagle” knocked on the door of one of his customers in the apartment building at 3403 Foster Avenue in Brooklyn. It was “collecting time” again. A lady answered the door. She disappeared for a moment, then returned with a purse in her hand.

“Sorry, Jimmy,” she said. “I don’t have any change. Can you break this dollar bill for me?”

The newsboy quickly counted the coins in his pocket. There were not enough. “I’ll ask the people across the hall,” he said.

There were two ladies in the apartment across from the one occupied by Jimmy’s customer. By pooling the coins in their pocketbooks, they were able to give the newsboy change for a dollar.

After he collected for the newspaper, Jimmy left the apartment house jingling several coins in his left hand. One of the coins seemed to have a peculiar ring. The newsboy rested this coin, a nickel, on the middle finger of his hand. It felt lighter than an ordinary nickel.

He dropped this coin to the floor. It fell apart! Inside was a tiny photograph apparently a picture of a series of numbers.

A Nazi, Moses Jacob Ezekiel, Jewish VMI Cadet At New Market

***************************************************************

Born into a family of that included 14 brothers and sisters on the rough side of Richmond, Virginia October 28, 1844 was one Moses Jacob Ezekiel. The son of penniless Spanish-Jewish parents who themselves were first generation Americans, he sought out a position at the nearby Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington as it was a public school and, most importantly, affordable.

Accepted into the Class of 1866, on September 17, 1862 he became the first Jewish cadet of that storied academy. No sooner did he arrive then he had to fight off prejudice and scorn, which he overcame to become a well liked, by all accounts, adjusted cadet. During his time at VMI, he was selected as part of the special guard for the casket of fallen Confederate Lt-Gen Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson who had been before the war an instructor at the school. It was not to be his only brush with history during the war.

Russia Rolls Out Some New Military Hardware

Russia's drive to modernize its military is in full swing, and the country appears ready to equip its armed forces with the latest and most modern mechanized platforms. The first batch of Armata battle platforms - vehicles specifically geared to face modern military challenges - is expected to arrive this month. The new tank will make an appearance in the May 9 military parade that marks the 70th anniversary of victory in World War II, which in Russia is dubbed the Great Patriotic War.

As reported by the daily Komsomolskaya Pravda, Russia's military was long overdue to replace its workhorse T-72 main battle tank, which was developed in the 1970s. Numerous upgrades of this tank could not make up for its shortfalls as a truly modern machine - especially after the 1991 Gulf War, when the American M1 Abrams tank became the military standard by which all other tanks are judged.

KP reports that a radically new platform had been expected to replace the T-72 - a tank developed under the code "Object 195" and outfitted with a powerful 152-mm cannon housed in an unmanned turret. That design incorporated a low tank profile, with a three-man crew placed in an armored capsule housed within the tank chassis. Several captured images may have revealed the prototype, but the Russian government offered no official comment. The prototype passed initial tests, but the Russian military-industrial complex could not handle mass production. Right now it looks like "Object 195" will be replaced by the "Armata" heavy weapons platform.

NBC under fire over reporter‘s claim sniper Chris Kyle was ‘racist’

NBC is once again under fire from Iraq War veterans — this time for a correspondent’s claims that sniper Chris Kyle was “racist.”

More than 20 retired generals and admirals penned a letter to Comcast, which owns NBC, following a Jan. 29 interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” with Middle East reporter Ayman Mohyeldin, according to a report in the Washington Examiner.

“Some of what people have described as his racist tendencies towards Iraqis and Muslims when he was going on some of these, you know, killing sprees in Iraq on assignment,” Mohyeldin said of Kyle, whose career was recently the subject of the blockbuster movie “American Sniper.”

10 Natural Substitutes for Toilet Paper

Via avordvet

 Top Survival Blog

While not the most pleasant topic in survival circles, it is one that cannot be denied. When nature calls, you will answer the phone. It took humans about 400 years to realize that paper could be used for more than just taking notes, and the Chinese were the first to document what would be later called toilet paper in the 600s AD.  By the 1400s, paper was specifically manufactured and sold for anal hygiene, and the rest, as they say, is history.  Today, however, while many preppers are concerned with stockpiling TP for darker days, survivalists are happy to go with the flow and use what’s handy.

Like the old saying goes, if all you’ve got is a hammer, then see every problem as a nail.  While there are some who still believe that a pile of old Sears catalogs or phone book pages will be worth more than gold, the reality is that it isn’t a lack of toilet paper that will cause distress, but rather a lack of practical knowledge. Urban dwellers may have a different take on this topic compared to my list because your choices are based upon your surroundings. My take is wilderness-oriented. If you have urban knowledge about this topic please share it in the comments.

20,000 foreign fighters flock to Syria, Iraq

 Islamic State Foreign Fighters

Foreign fighters are streaming into Syria and Iraq in unprecedented numbers to join the Islamic State or other extremist groups, including at least 3,400 from Western nations among 20,000 from around the world, U.S. intelligence officials say in an updated estimate of a top terrorism concern.

Intelligence agencies now believe that as many as 150 Americans have tried and some have succeeded in reaching in the Syrian war zone, officials told the House Homeland Security Committee in testimony prepared for delivery on Wednesday. Some of those Americans were arrested en route, some died in the area and a small number are still fighting with extremists.

The testimony and other data were obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press.

No-knock police raid ends in blazing tragedy

Gun owners and self-defense advocates are lauding a rare victory in which a Texas grand jury has refused to indict a homeowner for shooting and killing a police officer who entered his home unannounced in the middle of the night.

The homeowner, Henry Magee, 28, said he thought the officers who broke through his door were robbers and he acted in self-defense to protect his pregnant girlfriend and two children.

Police were acting on a tip from a criminal informant that led them to believe Magee had more than a dozen marijuana plants, all at least six feet tall, in his rural home in Burleson County. Officers included a line on the warrant that Magee also had “possible illegal guns” stolen from the local sheriff’s office. The local magistrate signed off on the warrant, with deadly consequences.

Muslim Persecution of Christians: A Centuries Old Tradition

The one glaring fact concerning the persecution of approximately 100 million Christians around the world today is that the overwhelming majority of it is being committed by Muslims of all races, nationalities, languages, and socio-political circumstances: Muslims from among America’s allies (Saudi Arabia) and from its enemies (Iran); Muslims from economically rich nations (Qatar) and from poor nations (Somalia and Yemen); Muslims from “Islamic republic” nations (Afghanistan) and from “moderate” nations (Malaysia and Indonesia); Muslims from nations rescued by America (Kuwait) and Muslims from nations claiming “grievances” against the U.S. (fill in the blank __).

WH Rushes to Deflect Outrage Over Obama's 'Random' Paris Deli Remark

PHOTO: White House press secretary Josh Earnest speaks to reporters during the daily press briefing at the White House in Washington, Sept. 12, 2014.

The White House scrambled to the defense Tuesday following a crush of criticism of President Barack Obama's remarks about last month's terrorist siege at a Kosher grocery in France.

Obama described the siege as one in which people "randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris."

In a testy exchange posted by ABC News, White House press secretary Josh Earnest jousted with incredulous reporters who asked why the president didn't characterize the deadly Jan. 9 attack as one that targeted Jews when he spoke with media outlet Vox on Monday.

"Does the president have any doubt that those terrorists attacked that deli because there would be Jews in that deli?" ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl asked, to which Earnest replied:

"It is clear from the terrorists and the writings that they put out afterward what their motivation was. The adverb that the president chose was used to indicate that the individuals who were killed in that terrible, tragic incident were killed not because of who they were but because of where they randomly happened to be."

Strategic Savagery: How to Use Terror

 survival weapon gun control

It looks like there is no sense and order in what ISIS folks are doing while they are terrorizing people and burning them alive, stone them to death, kill captured soldiers or simply women and kids. But spreading terror and pure fear makes lot of sense in terms of strategy, especially in already „chaotic“ times and territories where they are trying to advance.

Terror is a psychological game.

TSA Demands Internal Passport For Domestic Travel By 2016

Via Adam

Image result for papers please commie TSA

Disgusting. Infuriating.  In the early nineties you had to get a pass to travel outside Saigon, but that was done away with years ago only to be reinstated in this Communist country.

Precedents exist for requiring citizens to produce special ID for domestic travel; they include Nazi Germany, apartheid South Africa and Russia (both Imperial and Soviet).Over the Christmas season, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) quietly announced that America was walking down that path.

By 2016, all domestic air travel will require either a traditional passport or a federally-compliant ID card called "Real ID." State driver's licenses will no longer allow Americans access to domestic flights, as they do now.

NC: Chapel Hill police arrest man in triple homicide

Via Iver

The murder of three North Carolina college students was motivated by an ongoing dispute over a parking space, despite widespread speculation the victims were targeted by an avowed atheist because of their Muslim faith, police said.

Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder after turning himself in to police in Chapel Hill overnight. Although a Facebook page in Hicks' name that described him as a supporter of “Atheists for Equality” and blasted “radical Christians and radical Muslims" for causing strife in the world gave prompted rampant suspciion that the crime was motivated by hate, police said Wednesday it was about a parking space at the condominium complex where the murders took place.

Rev. Wright’s Star Pupil

 Rev. Wrightā€™s Star Pupil

“A steady patriot of the world alone,

“The friend of every country — but his own.”

George Canning’s couplet about the Englishmen who professed love for all the world except their own native land comes to mind on reading Obama’s remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.

After listing the horrors of ISIS, al-Qaida and Boko Haram, the president decided his recital of crimes committed in the name of Islam would be unbalanced, if he did not backhand those smug Christians sitting right in front of him.

“And lest we get on our high horse … remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Why did he do it? He had to know that dredging up and dragging in real or imagined crimes of Christianity from centuries ago would anger Christians and obliterate whatever else he had to say.

Was it Edgar Allen Poe’s “Imp of the Perverse” prodding him to stick it to the Christians? Was it the voice of his old pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah “God damn America!” Wright muttering in his ear?

I believe this betrays something deeper.
