The U.S. Justice Department says a North Carolina law that limits protections to LGBT people violates federal civil rights laws.

The Obama Administration agency on Wednesday put North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory on notice that state officials must confirm by Monday that they will not comply with or implement the law called House Bill 2.

A letter from the Justice Department obtained by The Associated Press said the law violates Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, which bars discrimination in education based on sex. That could lead to North Carolina losing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal school funding.

    1. Per usual. Every state which has a brain should coordinate and start printing their own worthless bills.

  3. We have reached the point, where 'perception is nine tenths the law'. A very dangerous place.

  4. Here we go again. Liberals calling folks names such as "racist" and homophobes, simply because they disagree with their "abnormal" position. In this case it is because of the recent uproar of the Sodomites desiring to use the restroom of their choice. Liberals believe anyone who opposes or disagrees with this position is a "baddie". Contrary to what is broadcast on public television, the MSM, and what Hollywood glorifies in film, these confused souls represent a very small percentage of our society. Why does the ACLU, SPLC, and .gov believe it is wrong for me to say "I really don't wish to stand beside a guy wearing dress, wig, bra, etc. while using a urinal"? Why does this same cadre of libtards believe I am wrong to say "I really don't want a man wearing a dress, high heels, bra, etc in a restroom stall right beside my wife, daughter, etc."? Here is what the SPLC had to say about the the city of Oxford, Alabama voting to support men using men's restrooms and vis versa for women.
As one can see, they are already implying that the city of Oxford is being discriminatory.

“Discrimination has no place in 21st century Alabama. Yet, that was the path taken by the Oxford City Council when it voted to criminalize transgender people for simply using the restroom,” said Chinyere Ezie, staff attorney with the Southern Poverty Law Center. “Misunderstanding and fear should never guide public policy decisions. Transgender people, like anybody else, should not be treated differently simply because of who they are. Fortunately, city council members have the opportunity to repeal this ordinance. Not only is repeal the right thing to do, it will protect city taxpayers from a potentially expensive lawsuit.”
