Michael Reagan: Nancy Would Have Voted for Hillary Clinton: (Ronald thought that Confederates had been in the wrong, by the way)

North Carolina Inside Politics

Michael Reagan says the Republican Party is so off the rails in its handling of the 2016 presidential race that not even his late father, President Ronald Reagan, would have lent his support.

In fact, adds the veteran political analyst, even his late mother, Nancy Reagan, would have bailed on the GOP and its candidate Donald Trump, and instead would have supported Hillary Clinton.

Reagan dropped the bombshell in a scathing tweet posted on Sunday, hours after The New York Times revealed that Trump may not have paid federal taxes for as many as 18 years.

Reagan tweeted this morning: “My father would not support this kind of campaign, if this is what the Republican Party wants leave us Reagans out. Nancy would vote for HRC.”

The tweet is one more chink in the armor of the GOP's support of Trump, who was heavily criticized last week for his comments about a former Miss Universe, Bill Clinton's past indiscretions and a suggestion that Hillary Clinton has not been faithful to her husband.

Michael Reagan, one of the nation’s leading conservative commentators, opposed Trump during the primaries, charging the billionaire was not a true Reaganite who supported big government programs while not supporting NATO.

In recent months Reagan had indicated he would support Trump -- before today’s tweet.

Reagan joins a growing list of conservative daily newspapers like the New Hampshire Union Leader, Dallas Morning News, and Arizona Republic – all of which have traditionally endorsed the Republican candidate but this year are backing either Clinton or Libertarian Gary Johnson.

  1. Fine, another old boy repub not supporting the candidate. I've given up on the party, I'll never support another old school repub, since their party is more important than the country.

  2. Interesting that Michael chooses to believe what the Media say about Trump, none of which is flattering, and most of which is blatantly false. The Miss Universe flap and the illegally leaked tax report shows nothing was done wrong or illegal by Trump. The RINOs who want to accept the lies to indict the Outsider Trump do so at their own risk. Endorsing Hillary is the worst thing any rational person could do because that acknowledges you are siding with the Soros/NWO/Globalists. I have no doubt that Nancy would have voted for the Vagina, too, just like all the Bush women, and probably most the wives of the 2016 Repub candidates who got whupped. This is no longer about Party affiliation. Do you want a sovereign free nation? If so, vote from Trump as he is your only viable choice.

    1. Blithering idiots. If they can't stand anything about Trump, they should still have enough sense to vote because of the Supreme Court.

  6. I used to listen to MR but I quit and I seem to remember it being because I heard somewhere that a SS threatened him over the the way he was treating one of his kids. All rumor, I suppose.
BUT, this thing where people take the position that they MUST vote R or D for POTUS instead of just not voting really, REALLY galls me. They are either brain dead morons or crooked.

    1. Precisely.

Do America’s reigning elites believe the Trump movement is but a passing phase?...after which we can all get back to building the New World Order of Bush I and Barack Obama?
