Just when you think Republican Party leaders can’t possibly get more cynical, more hypocritical or more suicidal, they surprise you.

Over the past week, a few dozen prominent Republicans, led by 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain and joined by Utah’s Senator Mike Lee and Colorado’s Cory Gardner, dropped their support for Donald Trump and called on Republican voters to vote for other, “down ticket” candidates but not Trump.

The New York Times on October 9 published a list of “160 Republican Leaders who do not support Trump,” and newspapers everywhere trumpeted the newest addition to the list.

That chorus was joined briefly by House Speaker Paul Ryan, who said he would vote for Trump but would not campaign for him or with him. Ryan also advised the entire Republican congressional delegation to do the same.

This betrayal of the party’s presidential nominee by top echelons of party leadership can only be called overt sabotage. Whether successful or not in denying Trump a victory on November 8, it undoubtedly is the opening shot in a civil war that will erupt full scale on November 9.

  1. These people seem to have forgotten all the dirty stunts they have pulled on the American public recently and are absolutely delusional if they think anyone is taking them seriously anymore.

We are watching a long standing political party imploding in real time. These arrogant bastards are going to be a footnote in the history books in short order.

I wish then God's speed and good riddance to bad rubbish.

  2. McCain? Who the Hell is he? I'll tell you who he is -
mass manslaughter of men he worked with, treason, coward,
irresponsible. He obviously has no shame. He is a national disgrace.
I'll never understand why he didn't stand trial for the mass
murders he and he alone perpetrated. His re-election must
have been rigged just like unpopular Killary's will be.

    1. He and Kerry were complicit in abandoning Vietnam POWs which did exist.

  3. Yes, I remember reading about this. The gov denying there
were even any POWs left behind which is where Bo Gritz came
in to prove them wrong. Bo said the gov did everything they
could to sabotage his mission, McCain included.
Bandaid Kerry - what a joke to this day.

    2. I remember reading some on Garwood. Sad story.
McCain is uncouth and vicious. I guess using Garwood
to detract from his treason and privileged capture.
Maybe McCain was afraid of Garwood's possible knowledge of McCain's actions. He desperately did
      not want the POWs back.
      Thanks.

    3. French were kept for 10 years after their war, so there should be no question in anyone's mind that American one's weren't.

Command Sergeant Major Eric L. Haney, a former Delta Force operator and a holder of the "live prisoners" belief, later wrote that beginning in 1981 his unit was twice told to prepare for a mission involving the rescue of American POWs from Vietnam, but both times the missions were scrubbed,
