Activists, We won! The DREAM Act sponsors only got 55 votes to "invoke cloture." They needed 60 votes. The amnesty is killed. You won! No amnesty has become law all this century, thanks to you. The moment of truth is here. And the truth is that the only thing stopping the triumph of amnesty on Wednesday will be the vigorous direct opposition from citizens like you. Pres. MOST LIKELY SCENARIO RIGHT NOW In the House, leaders want to vote first because it is assumed the best chance of passing an amnesty is in the House. This could happen late Wednesday morning or in the afternoon. They want to build momentum for the Senate to take up the amnesty perhaps Wednesday evening. If the amnesty fails in just one of the chambers, WE win. Generally, Speaker Pelosi would not schedule a vote on a bill that she doesn't believe she can get the 218 votes to pass it. Does that mean she has assurance of 218 YES votes? I don't think so. But she must be close. And she figures that if she holds the vote Wednesday she can force enough on-the-fence Democrats to take her side. Your job is to pull those Democrats over to the NO side. Our road to victory depends on holding all but about 6 of the Republicans as NO votes and to get about 45 Democrats to vote NO. About 75 Democrats are still in play. I'll be coming to you about them Tuesday morning. In the Senate, we have better prospects of winning. In the House, they only need 50% plus one vote to pass the amnesty. But in the Senate they have to get 60% of the 100 votes. Incredible pressures are being exerted on Republican Senators who have supported the DREAM amnesty in the past to do so again. Thus far, only Senators Lugar of Indiana and Bennett of Utah has committed to a YES. But at least 10 other Republicans need a lot of your support to vote NO, even though we feel relatively good about most of them. If they are your Senators, you will get an alert Tuesday morning. We also are continuing to exert as much pressure as possible on about a dozen Democratic Senators who are up for re-election in 2012 and have shown a distaste for amnesty at some time in the past. YOU HAVE HELD OFF AN AMNESTY FOR JUST SHORT OF 2 YEARS AGAINST INCREDIBLY BAD ODDS -- DON'T LET VICTORY SLIP AWAY AT THE LAST MINUTE. THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE (i.e. 700,000 FAXES IN THE LAST MONTH). THANKS FOR WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO NOW.

We need all local illegal alien activist groups, NC Voice, NC Freedom, Chatham Community Voice, NC Listen, ALIPAC, Triangle Conservatives, We the People, Tea Party Groups and other conservative activists, to attend the Durham City Council meeting, Mon. evening, Nov. 15th @ 7:00 pm, 101 City Hall Plaza, Durham, NC. The Durham city council is planning to vote to accept the Mexican matricula consular ID card as a legal form of ID in the city of Durham.

The "pro-illegal" group: NC Religious Coalition for Justice for Immigrants, is planning to "pack the event" with supporters in favor of the proposal: http://myemail.constantcontact.com/Immigration-Action-Alert--Durham-City-Council-Vote.html?soid=1102552225491&aid=Rg1Xb3bFuOE They want to "out-number" any opposition to the proposal.

The Mexican matricula consular ID card is nothing more than breeder document for identity fraud. It is not a "secured" document as it is not checked against any criminal data base in the US or Mexico. It is purported to be way for the police to more readily "identify" who a person is, when that person has no "documentation", ie: an illegal alien in this country. It is also accepted by all NC State Gov't agencies as either "legal identification" or "proof of NC residency" and is ONE of the documents that can be used to obtain NC social services and NC driver's licenses.

This has got to stop!

Gun Ownership Rises To All-Time High, Violent Crime Falls To 35-Year Low

Coinciding with a surge in gun purchases that began shortly before the 2008 elections, violent crime decreased six percent between 2008 and 2009, including an eight percent decrease in murder and a nine percent decrease in robbery.¹ Since 1991, when violent crime peaked, it has decreased 43 percent to a 35-year low. Murder has fallen 49 percent to a 45-year low.² At the same time, the number of guns that Americans own has risen by about 90 million. Predictions by gun control supporters, that increasing the number of guns, particularly handguns and so-called “assault weapons,” would cause crime to increase, have been proven profoundly lacking in clairvoyance.⁴ Good chart and more HERE.
