2010 Mencken Club Preview

"Paul Gottfried joins Richard to discuss the 2010 HL Mencken Club conference and the prospect for forming a counter force on the right." This is well worth your time. Listen in the background HERE.

Foreign Aid

Dear Mr. Townsend:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your opposition to foreign aid. I value hearing from you on this matter and appreciate the opportunity to respond.

You will be pleased to know that I am opposed to spending taxpayer dollars on aid to foreign countries. Our taxes should be spent on maintaining and improving our domestic issues and programs. For many years our government operated beyond our means while accumulating a $5,369.7 billion federal debt and a $290,402 million budget deficit. In this time of economic strife, I believe that lending more foreign aid would be detrimental to our country's already fragile financial state. Further, we need to take care of our own people before we continue to hand out more borrowed money to other countries.

I will keep your thoughts in mind when legislation concerning foreign aid is brought to the House floor. Rest assured that I do not support foreign aid and will continue to vote "no" on foreign appropriation legislation as I have consistently done in the past.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write on this important issue. If I may be of further assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Walter B. Jones

Parental Rights SR519

Dear Supporter of Parental Rights,
Yesterday was a huge day for the parental rights movement. First, a story run on CBS.com Tuesday night gained attention throughout the day – an article about our growing success with Senate Resolution 519 which opposes ratification of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Additionally, the San Francisco-based magazine Mother Jones posted an article attacking our work for parental rights.
As a result, ParentalRights.org president Michael Farris was invited to be on the Alan Colmes radio show tonight at 11:06 Eastern (8:06 Pacific). Mr. Colmes is a liberal commentator, formerly of the Hannity and Colmes dialog show. “This is a real indication that our grassroots efforts are starting to gain critical mass,” Farris says. “When mainstream media and ultra-liberal outlets like Mother Jones start paying attention to us, we are on the path to victory. Besides that, I love it when the radicals from Mother Jones call me a ‘mastermind’.”
If you can, listen to Mr. Colmes’ show tonight or check it out on his website in the next day or two: www.Alan.com. For many of you, he is not your usual fare – but please check out his interview with Mike. If Colmes gets good ratings with this issue, it may lead to more such interviews in other major media outlets.

Second, yesterday was a huge day because our email to you did extremely well – and it continues to produce dividends. Its message made it clear that ParentalRights.org exists to benefit all parents, including parents of public school students. Every parent has the right to direct the upbringing of their child.
You passed the message along, and it is gaining traction wherever it is read. If you have not passed it on yet, please pull out that email and do so. Or just email all your friends and ask them to check out one vital link: http://parentalrightsus.org/palmdale. (That is a copy of that email, available online.)

I am so excited by what is happening right now, and I hope through this email you now are, too. Let’s work together to keep this momentum going!

Sincerely,
Michael Ramey

Dear Taxpayer,

For only the second time in my adult life, I am not ashamed of my country. I want to thank the hard-working American people for paying $242,000,000 for my vacation in Spain. My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time. Honestly, you just haven't lived until you have stayed in a $2,500 per night suite at a 5-Star luxury hotel. Thank you also for the use of Air Force 2 and the 70 Secret Service personnel who tagged along to be sure we were safe and cared for us like royalty at all times.

Air Force 2 only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO 2. These are only rough estimates, but they are close. That’s quite a carbon footprint, as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint.

I know times are hard, and millions of you are struggling to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet. I do appreciate your sacrifice and do hope you find work soon. I was really exhausted after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago, so I just had to get away for a few days.

Cordially,
Michelle Obama

The Tyrant Lincoln

"The Yankees needed to find a way to try and justify their invasion of the South to themselves. They did that by manufacturing a non-existent consolidated nation that had to be kept intact. Lincoln and Seward were the authors of this hoax although they had plenty of help earlier from Daniel Webster and Henry Clay. The people, less than 1/3 (39%%. BT) of whom had voted for Lincoln, chose him to be their champion; a demigod to lead them down the righteous path. But even that was not enough. They also had to create him as the enemy of slavery and the emancipator of men, who he never was.

ANYONE who even reads the slightest bit of history on the matter will understand that at best Lincoln was indifferent to the plight of the slaves and in actuality, supported deporting them all. He repeatedly made statements stating that he thought blacks were inferior to white men and that they should not be afforded the rights of white men.

The modern historical Lincoln is a total fabrication. That man never existed. He in fact was a crude, poorly educated, big-business lawyer who won the Presidency through a fluke splitting of the Democratic party. He is directly and personally responsible for the invasion of the South and the deaths of over 600,000 men and 50,000 civilians. Under his direct orders, war was deliberately waged against civilians and private property. If he lived today, he would be tried and hung by an international war crimes tribunal. He violated the constitution more than any other president before or since. Enshrining his effigy in a marble temple in Washington followed by hundreds of academics busily rewriting history for 150 years does not change the fundamental truths about this greatest of depots, under which Americans have suffered, or relieve the guilt of those who fought his unholy war.

In the end, he received his just due, although I wish he had died after laying in some field half the night with his guts blown out like so many of the men he murdered."
