“It Started With A Lie”
The recognized meaning of a civil war has always been one in which differing factions strive for control of a single nation in order to rule. The war between King Charles I and Oliver Cromwell was truly a “civil war” in that both sides strove by war to rule England. The war between the Stuart kings and the line of Hanover was also a “civil war” for the same reason. On the other hand, the wars between the British and the Irish, Scots and Welsh were not “civil wars” because though the British sought to rule Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the peoples of those nations had no designs upon the British throne – they simply wished to be left alone in peace and freedom.

"I, therefore, feel that I but express their desire when I say I hope, and they hope, for peaceable relations with you, though we must part. They may be mutually beneficial to us in the future, as they have been in the past, if you so will it. The reverse may bring disaster on every portion of the country, and, if you will have it thus, we will invoke the God of our fathers, who delivered them from the power of the lion, to protect us from the ravages of the bear; and thus, putting our trust in God and in our firm hearts and strong arms, we will vindicate the right as best we may."

Guns
Oleg Volk
"This man with a gun is a coward
Who'd rather retreat than fight
He shrinks from violent conflict
And fears enemy's might
His wife is a skittish woman
Who'd rather be safe than right
She carries a gun with reluctance
Disliking its very sight
These two who might shake in fear
On perceiving a credible threat
Would fight for each other and children
Retreating not by a step
They fear and yet they conquer
The fear that evil spreads
They like their weapons little
But they cherish what guns protect"

Obama To Use Teleprompter For Hindi Speech
"We thought Obama is a trained orator and skilled in the art of mass address with his continuous eye contact." An anonymous Indian official surprised that Obama needed a teleprompter.

DeMint And West?
“I’ll tell you who would be a great vice-presidential candidate with him — an African-American gentleman named Colonel Allen West out of Florida, who just won Congress despite all odds, despite smear campaigns. What a ticket that would be, DeMint and West. I think they could win easily.”

Fall fishing heats up as temps cool down
"My Havelock pal, Jerry Jackson and his crew, fishing on his beautiful 61-foot Gillikin Custom Carolina Boat Ava D, made by true boat craftsman in Harkers Island, enjoyed some good late October action. Since J.J. bought that nice boat, those Harkers Island boys don’t call him a “dingbatter” anymore. He now qualifies as a real down east “hoidy toider” these days.
On a gorgeous day, Ava D fishing south of Swansboro Hole boated four Wahoo, two Blackfin, one Yellowfin, one King Mackerel, and one Mahi-Mahi."

"Texas In 1880"
"........ I never saw the video that CMT played till this morning. I just knew I loved the song. Life is a mysterious thing, if you will view the video and at 1:56 you will see my Indian grandpa tip his hat and the line in the song is tip your hat. I sat here first time I saw it, smiled knowing it was him then cried like a baby because I miss him...........he taught me how to drive, ride, drink and smoke, some good some bad, he worked the oilfields of TX and OK when drilling rigs were made of wood, then he rodeoed when he could, first the bulls then bare back bronks then when he got too busted up he became a rodeo clown for the bull riders. I am very pleased to be able to share one of my favorite songs, but feel privileged to be able to share my grandpa on film with you...........btw after all the hard years, he retired as a bunny bread man........... the week he retired he bought a Shetland pony for my niece the first week the pony came to grandpas it kicked him, broke his arm, he never went to the Dr. He set it himself.............in 3 months he got sick, bone cancer set in where the break was, he laid for 7 miserable months in bed before he died in his own bed. never went to the hospital ever . he was one tough ole NDN that was 1969 I still miss him..........................."

LEO Assault
"As I have written on numerous occasions, the police are both lawless and unaccountable. One wonders how they can be considered to be "law enforcement officers" when they demonstrate so reliably that they have no idea what the relevant law is:"

The Real American Revolution
"In this, the third American War for Independence, the war needs to be fought for the minds of the rational Americans who are interested in what true Liberty and Freedom mean.
Freedom is not freedom from want or freedom from deprivation; that is the meaning of the term "Freedom" when applied by an agent of the Socialist Left."
Third War For American Independence, Revolutionists' Guide
"Y'all know that we have begun the Third War for American Independence. The first being concluded successfully, and the second fought valiantly, to the bitter end, without success. Here's a tradition that would be nice to see revived........"

FASTLANE
On my '04 Lincoln LS 3.9, 242 CI V8. The following are all RWHP runs, of course. Factory tune run produced 229.2 HP and 245.3 TORQUE. The "Blue Line" run of 251.3 HP and 286.2 TORQUE was a "HARD SHIFT PERFORMANCE TUNE." The "RED LINE" run of 337.9 HP and 405.4 TORQUE was with a 100 shot of dry nitrous. The graph shows spark misses which the tuner told me was caused by the plug gap. I gapped them down from 44 to 37, but he said they should be gapped between 32 and 34. The tuner was the boss's son and he got about 25 more pounds of torque out of this motor than I've ever seen on any other with this setup. Great place and reasonable.
