"Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and 13 Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee today sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder regarding recent allegations that ATF may have been complicit in the illegal transfer of firearms into Mexico. The members requested information regarding the Phoenix-based program known as “Fast and Furious,” which according to reports intentionally allowed straw buyers for criminal organizations to purchase thousands of guns so that ATF could track them across the border.

Smith and the members criticized ATF’s alleged actions saying, “We find it ironic that the government allowed guns to be trafficked into Mexico as part of a program designed to stop guns from being trafficked into Mexico. We are also troubled that ATF engaged in activities that may have facilitated the transfer of guns to violent drug cartels while simultaneously attempting to restrict lawful firearms sales by border-area firearms dealers.”

For Don: Mosin Nagant M44 Brake

Posted here, so I won't lose it like I did last time!
=======================================
1. Buy this (When I said competition, I was confusing this brake with with my $90 Saiga 12 brake which you sure as hell need if you have a TAPCO stock on it!)

2. Buy two of the bolts below. I would buy four in case you mess up one or more. The two larger ones on the left are the case hardened ones you will receive. The two small ones on the right are the bolts that come with the brake and which sheared off when Mike went to the range. They are inexpensive. I bought three different sizes as I wasn't sure which might work the best. You won't have to cut them shorter, but you will have to hand file the outside edge of the bolts, so they will go flush in. I used Prime Lok 245 Blue threadlock on mine. As I mentioned, Mike said the brake worked well.

"Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate voted Wednesday night to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers after discovering a way to bypass the chamber's missing Democrats."

The consensus is that no more than five to ten people in a hundred who die by gunfire in Los Angeles are any loss to society. These people fight small wars amongst themselves. It would seem a valid social service to keep them well supplied with ammunition.

DHS Undercover Web Site Offering Sex With Minors Derailed By Hosting Firm

In an aggressive bid to entice prospective “sex tourists,” the Department of Homeland Security last year launched an undercover web site that purported to arrange trips from the U.S. to Canada, where clients could engage in sexual activity with minors, The Smoking Gun has learned.

The “Precious Treasure Holiday Company” web site was active until a few weeks ago when its Massachusetts-based web hosting firm removed the site from its servers, apparently in response to a complaint about its content. Now, visitors to precioustreasureholidaycompany.com are greeted with the message, “This site has been suspended.”

Mexican government calls for ‘working group’ to examine gun-walking charges

View ImageGo to fullsize image

“Legislators from all of Mexico's three major parties in congress are calling for a joint U.S.-Mexico working group to examine accusations that U.S. federal agents allowed hundreds of guns to flow into Mexico,” The Associated Press reports.

Congressman Humberto Trevino has estimated the toll of “Project Gunwalker”* guns linked to injuries or deaths to date at 150, although his authoritative source for making that claim has, as yet, not been publicly disclosed. Still, with the totality of guns allowed to cross the border and the duration of such operations in question due to stonewalling and deception, the probability that these firearms have been and will continue to be used in crimes of violence on both sides of the border remains high.

DHS Chief Napolitano says she was not aware of agency's link to ATF "gun running"

Well, of course not........She also, strangely enough, did not know anything about the other questions asked her, I mean, after all, it is just her agency and for the life of me, I can't see why she should know anything about it........

NC 2nd Amendment Alert

View Image

"Freshman NC Representative Glen Bradley has just introduced HB 241, the North Carolina Firearms Freedom Act, into the NC House of Representatives. This bill will exempt all firearms and ammunition manufactured and retained in North Carolina from federal regulation. HB 241 uses the 10th Amendment to protect North Carolina firearms and ammunition, since by staying within NC, they do not fall under the Interstate Commerce Clause's legal authority.

Many nullification bills being passed by state legislatures do not include interposition. The NC Firearms Freedom Act does. The bill,
which you can read here, makes any attempt to enforce federal restrictions against North Carolina-made firearms a Class 1A misdemeanor.

If you want to put the federal government back in its constitutional box and tell Washington to keep its hands off your guns and ammunition, sign Campaign for Liberty's petition to support HB 241
here. Then find your NC House and Senate representation here and tell them to cosponsor the NC Firearms Freedom Act.

Also, call Speaker Thom Tillis at (919) 773-3451 and House Majority Leader Paul “Skip” Stam at (919) 733-2962 and tell them to bring the Firearms Freedom Act to the floor for a roll call vote as soon as possible.

Representative Bradley has until today to get as many cosponsors as possible for this important legislation. Please
sign our petition and contact your representatives right away to ensure we build unstoppable momentum!

For My Mother

We had a large, circular driveway in Marshall, Virginia which was encompassed by Daffodils in the springtime. A beautiful sight to behold.

=============================================================

Daffodils

1804

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,

They stretch'd in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

In such a jocund company:

I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.
