Many viewers love Fox News, it's reporting is generally accurate and as they advertise, fair and balanced. However, a recent article on "Project Gunrunner" and “Project Fast and Furious” had a quote from J&G Sales and the article intimated that the government had monitoring cameras installed and GPS devices planted in the stocks of rifles. We want this to be very clear to all of our customers. At no time did we install special cameras at BATFE request. And we have never installed or used GPS tracking units in any way, and we have never been asked to do either of these things by the BATFE or any other government agency.

Kathryn Tucker Windham: 'She touched a certain strain of a genteel Old South in you'
========"I had loved and listened to her for years on Fridays (APR), as she reminded me so much of my grandmother, who had been the same age and grew up about 25 miles away. She touched a certain strain of a gentile [stet genteel] Old South in you. You were transported in spirit to an old front porch, listening to your family history. I will never forget her describing her experiences of marching in the Thomasville HS Band and marching in the Mobile Mardi Gras parade.
In addition to the signed copy of 13 Alabama Ghosts that I read many times at my Grandparents' home, I have been blessed to discover her extraordinary talent in journalism. I urge all of my fellow Alabamians to honor Mrs. Windham this week by reading her work- her life- and you will find that bit of Old Alabama in you, too."

Two Hundred-Fifty Half-Starved American Heroes
The gallantry, heroism and patriotism exhibited by North Carolina’ citizen-soldiers in the War Between the States is chronicled in accounts like the stubborn defense of Fort Gregg in early April, 1865. Opposed by vastly overwhelming numbers of the enemy, they fought desperately in defense of their families, homes, State and country. Truly a “Southern Alamo.”

“The Federal infantry soon came into sight. One Mississippian later wrote: “Ah, what a contrast, what a soul-sickening spectacle to behold. 25,000 men, flushed with recent victory, to be hurled against 250…half-starved heroes, whose hearts of steel [quailed] not even at such fearful odds.”
“About ten o’clock the enemy commenced charging with four or five lines,” Lieutenant [Dallas M.] Rigler [of Mecklenburg county] would write a few years after the war. “We did not fire until they were within forty yards, and then gave them one volley; they wavered, and then the first line gave way; the second came forward, and came within thirty yards of the fort. We yelled and fired – they stood a few seconds and then broke. The third retreated also, but the fourth and fifth came to the ditch around the fort. While this fighting was in the front, one line came in the rear and almost got inside the fort through the door. About twenty men charged them, drove them back. About eleven o’clock they scaled the walls of the fort, and for several minutes we had a hand to hand fight. We used the bayonet, and killed almost all of them that came on top.”
Private [Angelum M.] Garrison [also of Mecklenburg county] chronicled: “A man of Company D, of our regiment, volunteered to shoot while three of us loaded, and we did the best that was possible. This soldier of Company D took good aim, and I think he must have killed or wounded scores of the enemy.”
Twenty-year old Lieutenant Rigler would conclude his story of the defense of the fort:
“About half-past eleven they attempted to scale the walls again. We met them with the bayonets, and for several minutes it was the most desperate struggle I ever witnessed; but it did not last long. Son they were all killed or knocked back, and then a deafening shout [arose] from our boys. [But] by this time the ammunition was almost out, and our men threw bats and rocks at them in the ditch. No ammunition would we get, and after a short struggle, they took the fort…”
General [Cadmus M.] Wilcox would add this, viewing things from outside the fort while in the Confederate lines: “As they [Federals] appeared at this point [Fort Gregg], they were either shot or thrust off with the bayonet….Again and again this was done. At length numbers prevailed, and the parapet of the little work was thickly covered with men, six [Northern regimental] flags seen on it at one time; and from this dense mass a close, and of necessity destructive fire, was poured down upon the devoted band within.”

Obama Visits NC Plant That Used $39 Million Stimulus to Make $127 Light Bulbs and Pays CEO $4.2 Million
President Obama is desperately hunting for some good news with the nation’s economy. Or at the very least, at least one or two anecdotal success stories to help create an illusion that everything is on track. So today, Obama visited a North Carolina manufacturing plant that makes “green” energy saving LED light bulbs.
How cool is that? Obama can showcase a wildly successful American manufacturing company as proof manufacturing jobs are returning to America. And on top of that, he can promote his “green” agenda with a remarkable well designed and well thought out replacement for the good old incandescent light bulb.
A better bulb that saves energy and provides American jobs. This is exactly the success story candidate Obama promised on the campaign trail 3 years ago when he last visited the much smaller plant back in the pre-Obama days. And listening to Obama today, watching him swell with pride as he said:

Human Events
The battle of Bunker Hill (often referred to as the battle of Breed’s Hill) opens when British Army forces and Royal Marines under the command of Gen. William Howe attack American forces under Gen. Israel Putnam and Col. William Prescott who have taken up position on the hills above Boston. The British will ultimately take Bunker and Breed’s Hills, but British losses make it a pyrrhic victory.
According to the Library of Congress: “American troops displayed their mettle in the Battle of Bunker Hill during the siege of Boston, inflicting casualties on nearly half of the British troops dispatched to secure Breed's Hill (where most of the fighting occurred).”
Montana Manhunt Target a Survivalist
David Burgert, 47, is the former leader of a Flathead County militia group known as Project 7, named for the number "7'' on Flathead County license plates in Montana. Project 7 allegedly plotted to assassinate local officials, go to war with the National Guard and overthrow the federal government.
MISSOULA, Mont. – Authorities searching a 30-square-mile swath of rugged Montana forest for a former militia leader and survivalist say the man was prepared for his shootout with sheriff's deputies and left several caches of food in the area.
The gunfire exchange between David Burgert, 47, and Missoula County deputies happened along a logging trail Sunday after a slow-speed chase near the historic town of Lolo on U.S. Highway 12, authorities said. The deputies returned fire before Burgert grabbed gear from the Jeep and ran into the woods, Missoula County Undersheriff Mike Dominick said. No one was hurt, and federal and state agents continue the search.
Burgert, who previously told police "he wasn't going to be taken down like last time,"
CHICAGO TRIBUNE OP-ED ON BLACK FLASH MOBS SHOWS IDIOCY OF PC LEFTISTS
In an op-ed titled ‘Race and the flash mob attacks‘, author Steve Chapman perfectly illustrates the cowardice and intellectual imbecility of liberals. His article says:
“Here’s my question about the teenagers who have been attacking and robbing people on North Michigan Avenue in recent days: Were they Christians? And if so, what denomination? Baptist? Catholic? Seventh Day Adventist?
Those may sound like ridiculous questions. But so is the question raised by many Tribune readers about our coverage: Why aren’t we mentioning that the culprits are black?
There are good reasons not to identify the attackers by race. It’s the newspaper’s sound general policy not to mention race in a story, whether about crime or anything else, unless it has some clear relevance to the topic.”
Steve, those are not good reasons, those are policies. As for relevance in flash mob violence? Hmmmm…lemme see..flash mobs…race….could there be some “clear relevance” here in Chicago and across America? Well, AWD might think of one glaring, big fat, 800 pound “relevant” in the room. The numerous black flash mobs that took place over Memorial Day may be just a leeeetle relevant. Also, if race is not a pertinent issue, why is gender? It’s stupid! If the paper won’t say “the black flash mob,” why would it say “the white male bank robber?” The mainstream propaganda will not report news that doesn’t fit squarely in their tightly-defined, politically correct profile. There is no room in that profile where black people can ever do anything wrong. If they do, it must not be reported. In the PC world, only white people are racists and capable of evil. Everyone else is a victim. Chapman goes on:
"You Can No Longer Think of Yourselves as Peace Officers"
It was Friday the 13th, and Skylar Walters thought he was going to die.
The 16-year-old inmate of Orangeville Jr.-Sr. High in Illinois was in gym class when a deranged-looking man barged into the school and began firing what appeared to be a handgun at several of the other students."I started praying to God and saying my last words," Skylar later recalled. "I was scared. I didn't know what to do."As the intruder fired his gun, he called out the name of a particular student; the youngster quite sensibly fled the building. Other kids "were just running everywhere and crying and hiding," Skylar recounted. Some of the panicking schoolkids probably attempted to call or text their parents to describe the horror unfolding in front of them. They didn't know that each of the parents had been instructed not to answer if his child issued a desperate plea for help. That last sadistic touch is what distinguished the May 13 "active shooter drill" in Orangeville from countless other performances of its kind staged in schools across the Soyuz by the Police State Play Actors' Guild. Most of the time, the kids for whose supposed benefit those drills are choreographed -- and the parents responsible for their care, education, and upbringing -- are let in on the joke.
