New Libyan Leader Declares Islamic State, Sharia Law to Be Enforced

Libya's new leader declared his country's liberation Sunday and set out plans for the future with an Islamist tone. In a televised address, transitional leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil declared his nation will adopt Sharia law as the basis of government, and immediately announced the canceling of all bank loans in violation of such law. The announcement may prove a serious setback for the Obama administration, which had promised support for a post-Gadhafi democratic Libya.

Libya's transitional leader declared his country's liberation Sunday after an 8-month civil war and set out plans for the future with an Islamist tone. The announcement was clouded, however, by international pressure to explain how ousted dictator Moammar Gadhafi had been captured alive days earlier, then ended up dead from a gunshot to his head shortly afterward.

Gadhafi's death in circumstances that are still unclear, and the gruesome spectacle of his body laid out as a trophy in a commercial freezer and on public view, are testing the new Libyan leaders' commitment to the rule of law. Even at the ceremony to declare liberation, a couple speakers in positions of authority essentially said Gadhafi got what he deserved.

But transitional government leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, who made the keynote speech, did not mention the events surrounding Gadhafi's end and called on his people to eschew hatred.

"You should only embrace honesty, patience, and mercy," Abdul-Jalil told the crowd at the declaration ceremony in the eastern city of Benghazi, the birthplace of the uprising against Gadhafi. He urged Libyans to reconcile their differences.

And he laid out a vision for the post-Gadhafi future with an Islamist tint, saying Islamic Sharia law would be the "basic source" of legislation and existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified. In a gesture that showed his own piety, he urged Libyans not to express their joy by firing guns in the air, but rather to chant "Allahu Akbar," or God is Great. He then stepped aside from the podium and knelt to offer a brief prayer of thanks.

Napolitano: Obama 'Shredding the Constitution'

President Barack Obama is shredding the U.S. Constitution faster than any of the 42 men who preceded him in office, according to Fox News judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano, author of the brand new "It is Dangerous to be Right when the Government is Wrong."

It is so bad he should be impeached over the murder of American terror suspect Anwar al-Awlaki – and if Congress won’t take that action, he should be indicted once he is out of office.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Napolitano said it doesn’t matter that Awlaki was probably guilty – the fact is he was a U.S. citizen and the Constitution outlaws his killing without due process.

The Tar River Boys

For nearly 40 years, the Tar River Boys have played mountain music with their own lively style, bringing the high lonesome sound to the flatlands of eastern North Carolina.

As a busy doctor in Tarboro, Dr. Peter Temple often pulled out his guitar to unwind after his long days taking care of patients. And when he finally got a night off, usually Wednesdays, he invited friends to join him.

Soon, everyone knew that for the best music around, you should drop by the Victorian house on St. Patrick Street, have a seat on the porch or stairs, and listen as long as you like. Those with instruments joined in the Wednesday night porch pickin’s. The regulars began performing together, and when bluegrass godfather Bill Monroe visited East Carolina University in 1972, they welcomed him with their new name — the Tar River Boys. And one of eastern North Carolina’s best-loved bluegrass bands was born. (Story continues below the audio clips.)

If Only Uncle Joe Knew...

SOME OF THE MAN-CAUSED DISASTERS under the Stalin regime in the Soviet Union were not done in secret. People knew they were going on at the time, and the victims of the actions could scarcely believe their eyes. Letters were written to Uncle Joe (Stalin), begging him for relief from these importuning local bureaucrats. "If only Uncle Joe knew this was going on," people thought, "surely he'd stop it."

Tell yourself the truth, you've thought much the same upon occasion. Surely Hilary Clinton couldn't seriously intend the utter disaster the health care plan being built in her name would visit on the American people, our economy, our nation. She has the reputation of being a smart woman -- to countenance such idiocy runs counter to that.

Surely a firm liberal can't possibly support gun control. Not with all the evidence of what despotic governments have done to disarmed populations. That runs counter to everything liberals profess to believe about liberty and self-determination.

You've cried out to shame the thunder that the press is obligated -- as a matter of sacred duty -- to challenge [fill-in-the-blank]'s lies, such as he blathered in a White House press conference only yesterday!

If only somebody in this person's orb had the sense and the gonads to tell him the unpleasant truth about the risky nature, the wild unpopularity, the flat-out illegality of his policy prescriptions, you've thought, he'd have to change his mind -- or, at least, consider the alternative.

Right?

Well, apparently, somebody DID tell Obama all that. And, guess what? Din't mean shit.

What lesson should you, Gentle Reader, draw from this? Why, when a man tells you what he's going to do to you, take him at his word.

It's not as though Obama was at all shy about his intent to destroy the American economy, eviscerate the Constitution, and in general vitiate his oath of office.

Did you think he was lying to you when he told you he was going to make coal-fired electrical power so expensive as to drive it off the market?

Did you think he was kidding when he (in the person of his harridan wife) told you he was going to put the lie to American history, to revise our national ideals, to, in short, redefine the American experiment to one in socialism, rather than freedom?

Did you think Obama was mistaken when he told you he would gladly accept being a one-term president, so long as he could wreak his havoc in that one term?

Don't be silly.

Sebelius Administration Destroyed Key Evidence In Planned Parenthood Case

Of course, this was just a coincidence and had nothing to do with her views on abortion.::)
========

Roundabout via Sad Hill News

The country’s first criminal prosecution of Planned Parenthood was left teetering Friday when it was revealed the state of Kansas destroyed abortion records that prosecutors planned to use as evidence.

Johnson County prosecutors asked a judge to delay a Monday hearing to decide if there’s enough evidence to try Planned Parenthood on 23 felony counts of falsifying termination of pregnancy reports.

Prosecutors say the records, which are central to making their case, were shredded sometime in 2005, roughly two years before charges were brought against Planned Parenthood by former Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment shredded the records as a “routine” destruction of state documents, court files said.

The prosecution’s request for a continuance drew a swift response from Planned Parenthood, which said any further delay is inexcusable.

A judge will take up the continuance request Monday morning.

Filed in October 2007, the case has been mired in a four-year legal trench fight over access to the very records that were destroyed, as well as other issues.

Peter Brownlie, president of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, said the latest turn was another instance of the state bungling a case initiated by Kline when he was Kansas attorney general from 2003 to 2007.

“Our contention all along has been there is no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing,” Brownlie said. “I believe this leaves the district attorney in a position where he has no evidence, period.”

Abortion opponents were so stunned by the latest revelation that they hard to time articulating their reaction.

“Unbelievable,” said Mary Kay Culp, executive director of Kansans for Life.

“We don’t believe for one second this was anything but purposefully done to protect the abortion industry.”

You May Even Get Some Education at College, Among Other Things

Godfather Politics
VERBATIM POST
========

This year was a pretty busy summer for our family. Our 17-year-old son must decide what college he will go to. He is homeschooled, which means he hasn’t been drugged with Ritalin, hasn’t spent time in idiotic activities that have nothing to do with education, and has had enough time to both finish his general course and pass the SAT somewhere in the 90+ percentile, and pursue his specific professional interests which include computer engineering and programming. So we have been looking for good technical college where he can develop his skills in either computer science or computer engineering.

So we have been traveling and visiting different universities and colleges, and we have been going through lots of literature and web-sites in order to make an informed decision about my son’s education. We want him to find the best computer education for the price we can afford. We are interested in education, not in anything else. We don’t want to know anything about all the side activities that parents and students pay for at college. We simply want to know the quality of education in the specific field for a specific college.

Strangely enough, we never found a college where the information session would tell us about the education part of it. Every time we go to an information session we hear about dormitories, the college football team, about the great relationships between students and professors (hmmm, I don’t think that excites me very much), about mascots, colors, and the origins of a college yell (or battle cry, or whatever they call it). We learn about what politician graduated from that college, which only makes me wonder if these people know anything about our modern American politics, and if they knew, whether they would just as proud of associating politicians with their college.

Every once in a while, when we sit at information session for an engineering college or computer science college, we would hear something about research done at the college. A few words about it, nothing specific. And then the conversation again goes to the students’ “experiences,” how great the community at the college is, and how the professors would find time to have a coffee with their students. Extra-curricular activities seem to be of more importance to a college than the curriculum itself. I only learn about the curriculum and the material learned from a sheet of paper where the study program is written in the dullest possible way, conveying minimum of information; codes and names of subjects. What the subjects contain is never disclosed. For example, Calculus can mean anything from just basic Calculus (which my son is taking this year) all the way to advanced Calculus. We were never told about the academic expectations at any college, and we were never told what a college does to help the academic knowledge and skills of the students. What was important in all of them was “building community”; which meant, of course, first the great religion of the American people, College Football, and then all the other smaller rituals that make one a “cultured person,” i.e. one that blends so much with the culture that they cease having an identity of their own. Academic knowledge and professional skills? Nah, not that important.

Same thing with the nice little brochures we get from colleges every day. Ever since he achieved results on SAT that public schooled kids can only dream of, we’ve been buried under advertizing literature from a thousand colleges. (I am not kidding you.) Guess what they promise: Community, fun, nice experiences, study abroad, and all other kinds of things for which he’ll be happy to spend his money on. Academics? Ah, yeah, you may get that at our college too. Among other things.

The last one we went to, we had enough time to walk around and actually observe the students in the middle of a busy week day. Scores of them had occupied the cafeterias and the shops. A few individuals did have books with them, and a chosen few actually had them opened and were studying. Most were in the business of “socializing.” Which meant they were filling the air with the same 27 words separated by filler noises of the sort, “I was like,” “she was like,” “really cool,” “dude,” and “y’know.” Let alone the multiple shows of affection between a boy and a girl, probably studying for their anatomy class or something.

But my son wants to study. He doesn’t care for being “cultured” through a collective of bunch of young little airheads whose idea of productive life is get drunk and laid. No college really tried to attract him with that concept. My son wisely decided to not ask them more questions. He could have startled them to death if he said he actually wanted to study.

Anyway, we’ll probably find something cheap and get him through the system as fast as possible, even if we need to cheat the system. Given his study habits, he may be able to pass the whole study course within a year. Well, may be year and a half; he likes taking lazy days every once in a while. We may be able to find alternatives to the traditional college.

But the greater question is this: Since when have our colleges become places for dumbing down the children of America? Since when academics is such a miniscule part of a college “experience” that it gets so little attention in a college advertising? How is it that with the super expensive colleges we have here in America, Eastern European and Asian kids know more after graduating from high school than our college graduates?

In his book, The Graves of Academe, Richard Mitchell explains the problem. In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king; and in the land of the witless the half-wit is king. But the privileges of the one-eyed and the half-wit are only secure when there are not people around who have their full vision or have all of their wit with them. Therefore a major part of the policies of an one-eyed king or a half-wit king would be making sure that there are no two-eyed people or smart people around to rock the boat of the establishment. They can and will – in Mitchell’s words – “command the construction and perpetuation of a state-supported and legally enforced system for the early detection and obliteration of anti-social traits, and thus arrange that witfulness and 20-20 vision will trouble the land as little as possible.”

According to Mitchell, this system in America is called “education.” He knows. He’s been part of it.

Apparently, our educational system is controlled by “kings” who are one-eyed and half-wit. And that’s why our colleges are increasingly turning into factories for blind and witless graduates who can’t think beyond their “social experiences” and can’t talk without their really-cools and I-was-likes. Something needs to be changed if we don’t want America to go down the drain for the simple reason that our colleges have left us without vision and without wit – and have charged us crazy money for it.

Grandaddy's Gun

Good mornin' Friend Brock...............................................................I was sittin' here listening to music as I always do in the mornings before I get into work mode, looking around the war room as Pam calls our dining room, SCV , computer area.......My eyes fixed on Grandpa's ole Sears and Roebuck shotgun hangin' on the wall, and just out of the blue, this song popped up in rotation on this song mix I had mashed on......it was too good not to share. I can't be the only person with memories that are mentioned in the lyrics, thus my reason for sharing it with you. Hope your day is a good one, my best to you and the family.

"Wartime Recollections of a Grandmother"

This is a well known story and the hanging of a soldier simply doing his duty to the last was murder, needless to say.

One reckless Confederate soldier from Texas was in the rear guard; he fired on a Yankee soldier, so close were the pursuers to the pursued. After firing he turned and put spurs to his horse, but unfortunately his horse stumbled, and he was captured. The next morning under a guard of soldiers, he was carried by our home, (I looked on with anguished heart) to the grove back of your Grandfather’s, and hung to the limb of a huge tree, under which your uncles and aunts had played in childhood.”

(Mary Norcott Bryan (1841-1919) was born in Pitt County, the daughter of John Norcott and Sarah Frances Bryan. She was the wife of New Bern attorney Henry Ravenscroft Bryan)

“Dear Children – One warm day in April [1865], a great many ladies and children assembled in the public square in Raleigh, near the Capitol, all anxious to hear the news…some one said “It is reported that Lee has surrendered” -- such consternation on the faces of the people, then as the news became more general, such weeping and wringing of hands, such heavy hearts – privation, sorrow, death, defeat and poverty.

Raleigh was now filled with wounded and disabled soldiers; the churches and every available space turned into hospitals. I did what I could, but it seemed nothing. The Episcopal church being nearer to me, I went there mostly; many poor men were on the benches, some in high delirium, some in the agony of death. A young soldier passed away, none knew his name or home; as the coffin lid was being screwed down, a dear lady pressed her lips to his brow, and said: “Let me kiss him for his Mother.” Every heart responded and all eyes filled with tears. Volumes of heartrending and pathetic incidents could be written of our four years’ cruel war. Although we were becoming less hopeful, yet the Fall of the Confederacy was unexpected to the last.

Soon our troops began to pass through [Raleigh, April 1865], weary, dirty fellows, and hungry also, every one that could, fed them; they could not stop but in passing, we stood at the gate and handed them bread and ham; they were marching to the tune of Dixie, the war song that we vainly thought was going to lead them to victory. Our soldiers retreated towards Hillsboro, the Federal soldiers pursuing.

Gilad Shalit release: freed Palestinian prisoner vows to 'sacrifice' her life

Via DoubleTapper

These are obviously deviant people.

Her mother said: “This is Jihad, it is an honourable thing and I am proud of her.”
========

As she returned to her family home in northern Gaza, Wafa al-Bis insisted she would seize any opportunity to mount another suicide mission and encouraged dozens of cheering schoolchildren to follow her example.

Bis was one of hundreds of Palestinian militants freed by Israel on Tuesday in the first phase of a prisoner swap agreed with Hamas, Gaza’s Islamist overlords, to win the freedom of Sgt Maj Shalit after five years in solitary confinement.

Her words will chill critics of the deal who argue that many of the 1,027 Palestinians who are to be released from prison will return to violence once they have been freed. For most Israelis, such fears have been consigned to the future as an anxious nation watched to see how the 25-year-old conscript was faring on his first full day at home in Mitzpe Hila, his home village in the hills above the Sea of Galilee.

OK, i wanna share with you my own experience. (be patient with my English, i am from far away)

I am from Bosnia, and as some of you may know it was hell here from 92-95, anyway, for 1 whole year i lived and survived in a city of 50 000- 60 000 residents WITHOUT: electricity, fuel, running water, real food distribution, or distribution of any goods, or any kind of organized law or government. The city was surrounded for 1 year and in that city actually it was SHTF situation.

We did not have organized army or police force, there was groups of defenders, actually anybody who had a gun, fight for his own house and his own family.

Some of us was better prepared, but most of families had food for couple of days, some of us had pistol, few owned AK-47 when all started.

Anyway, after one month or two, gangs started with their nasty job, hospital looked like butchery, police force vanished, 80 percent of hospital staff gone home.
I was lucky, my family was big in that time (15 members in one big house, 5-6 pistols, 3 Kalashnikov s) so we lived and survived, most of us.

I remember US Air force dropped MRE every 10 days (god bless USA for that) as help for surrounded city, it just was not enough. Some of houses had little gardens with some vegetables, most did not.
After three months rumors started abouth first deaths from starvation, deaths from low temperatures, we stripped every door , window frame from abandoned houses for heating, i burned all my own furniture for heating, lot of people died from diseases, mostly from bad water (two of my family members), we used rain water for drink, several times i ate pigeons, once i ate rat.

Money did not worth sh..

we traded things, black market worked, few examples: for 1 corned beef can you could have woman for couple of hours(sounds bad, but it was reality) i remember, most of that womans were just desperate mothers, candles, lighters, antibiotics, fuel, batteries, rifle ammo and of course food, we fight like animals for that.

In situation like that lot of things change, most of people turned to monsters, it was ugly.
Strength was in the numbers, if you were alone in the house, you ve been probably robbed and killed, no matter how well armed.

Anyway, war ended, again thanks to America (and again god bless USA for that)
It is not important witch side had right in that war.

It was almost 20 years ago, but believe me, for me it was just like yesterday, i remember everything, and i think i learned a lot.

Me and my family are prepared now,i am well armed, stocked and educated.
It is not important what going to happen, earthquake, war, tsunami, aliens terrorists, important thing is that something gonna be.

And from my expirience, you can not survive alone, strength is in the numbers, be close with your family, prepare with them, choose your friends wisely and prepare with them too.

And at the end, this is my first post, and my English is not so good, so don t judge me too hard.
