It’s the Math, Stupid!: Seven Devastating Facts About 2012

Via Survival

As we enter 2012, the presidential candidates would do well to wrap their minds and messages around these seven mathematical facts:

  1. Every day, the U.S. government takes in $6 billion and spends $10 billion. This means that every day the federal government spends $4 billion more dollars than it has.
  2. The real unemployment rate is a jaw-dropping 11 percent.
  3. Every fifth man you pass on your way to work is now out of work.
  4. College graduates are now 34% less likely to find a job under Obama than they were under President George W. Bush.
  5. Every seventh person you pass on the sidewalk now relies on food stamps.
  6. The ravages of the Obama economy now mean that more Americans live under the federal poverty line than at any time in U.S. history since records have been kept.
  7. Under President Barack Obama, every fifth child in America now lives in poverty.

"There's a story my grandmother used to tell me. Her grandmother was a Cherokee Indian from the then Oklahoma territory. She wound up marrying a cowboy who later moved the family somewhere near Corinth, Miss.

During the war, her husband was off fighting and later the area she lived in became occupied by union troops.

As the story goes, the union soldiers took livestock from the local population and if anybody objected, as did a neighbor, they were summarily executed.

So my great-great grandmother took what livestock they had and hid them in a wooded area in some kind of trench or sendero.

She had something like 6 children and one day was riding her mule down the road and she was accosted by a union patrol, who demanded she turn over her mule to them.

She refused to give it up.

The soldier leading the patrol then said: "he would stick his hand up her dress" if she wouldn't get off the animal and let them have it.

To which she is alleged to have replied..."You wouldn't be the first man to put your hand up my dress"

This is said to have shocked the union soldier to the point he stepped out of the way and allowed her to proceed, and she never did give the mule up.

Militarists, Drug Warriors, and Heresy-Hunters: The Anti-Ron Paul Axis of "Decency"

Terrorists: Sherman & Sheridan = Atrocities against Plains Indians =Reconstruction

Newt Gingrich, lapsed adulterer, impenitent warmonger, and self-appointed “teacher of civilization,” has excommunicated Ron Paul and his supporters from the ranks of human decency. A similar anathema has been pronounced by left-wing heresy hunter David Neiwert -- a former sidekick to the degenerate fraud named Morris Dees – and many other self-appointed political “watchdogs.”

Those banishment decrees condemn Dr. Paul and his supporters for rejecting the fundamental tenet of statism – the belief that officially sanctioned lethal coercion is the key to social progress.

"I think Ron Paul's views are totally outside the mainstream of virtually every decent American," insisted Gingrich in a CNN interview. Although Gingrich alluded to the manufactured controversy over decades-old newsletters published by Dr. Paul that contained supposedly offensive material dealing with matters of political correctness, Gingrich’s chief complaint – which he has reiterated on many occasions – is that Dr. Paul seeks to end America’s interventionist foreign policy and the God-awful wars that policy entails.

WXIA-TV reports (http://on.11alive.com/u6hWki) up to 4,000 spectators are expected this year at the annual event in the west Georgia city.

Tallapoosa Mayor Pete Bridges said townspeople slowly lower a mounted possum to the ground.

The mayor says the animal is in a beautifully lit cage as it is lowered, and the event is followed by fireworks.

Taxidermist Bud Jones cares for Spencer, the mounted Virginia possum who will make the New Year's descent.

Jones said the animal "was road kill. He recalls that he "was going down the road one day and there was old Spencer in the road. So I jumped out and got him. And there he is."

Great news! Nancy Pelosi Wants to Quit Congress, Says Daughter

Please quit today.

Alexandra Pelosi, daughter of House Minority Leader and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, says her mother is is "done" with politics and considers her tenure in the House "an obligation" to donors.

During a telephone interview with the website Big Government, Alexandra Pelosi said:

"She would retire right now, if the donors she has didn’t want her to stay so badly. They know she wants to leave, though. They think she’s destined for the wilderness. She has very few days left. She’s 71, she wants to have a life, she’s done. It’s obligation, that’s all I’m saying."

Kwanzaa: violent 60s radical invented fake holiday

Via Rebellion

Held each year from December 26 until January 2, Kwanzaa is increasingly seen as an appropriate multicultural alternative to Christmas, a holiday considered too religious and “Eurocentric” for public schools.

But there is one not-so-insignificant problem with Kwanzaa. While many teachers believe it is an ancient African harvest festival, it was not born in pre-colonial West Africa, but in 1960s southern California. It is the brainchild of African-American radical activist, academic and convicted felon Ron Karenga.

In 1969, two rival radical groups were battling for control of the UCLA black studies program: the Black Panthers and the lesser-known US, or United Slaves, led by Mr. Karenga. Both groups sauntered around campus carrying loaded guns. Perhaps inevitably, violence erupted. As David Horowitz recalls in Radical Son, Black Panther John Higgins was “murdered—along with Al ‘Bunchy’ Carter—on the UCLA campus by members of Ron Karenga’s organization.” After the killing, the FBI infiltrated both groups, and the United Slaves turned to fighting “enemies within.”

The result: two female members were tortured by their “comrades” in May, 1970. Both alledge Mr. Karenga ordered and participated in their assaults.

North Carolina Patriots of ’61 – Thomas Legion Highlanders

The Thomas Legion was formed to defend the mountainous region of North Carolina, eastern Tennessee and southwest Virginia from Northern invasion.

William Holland Thomas was born in 1805 in Waynesville and was 56 years old when the war began. A successful businessman and veteran North Carolina legislator, Thomas recruited mountaineers and Cherokee Indians near Waynesville, many of whom he had known since childhood.

At the age of twelve, Thomas had been adopted by Yonaguska, chief of the Oconaluftee tribe of the Cherokee Nation, and given the name of Wil-Usdi, meaning “Little Will.” A successful merchant and trader, by 1861 Thomas had amassed 34,000 acres of land and was one of western North Carolina’s largest landholders. His first company of Cherokee volunteers was named the “Junaluska Zouaves,” and on April 9, 1862 the unit was mustered into Confederate service at Qualla Town by Major George Washington Morgan, an Indian, with William Thomas serving as captain.

Thomas petitioned Governor Zebulon Vance to authorize a guerilla force of his own selection in North Carolina, and adopted the name “Highland Rangers.” By late September 1862 he had raised an 1100-man regiment, which included two companies of Cherokees. Their first assignment was to round up deserters and men fleeing from conscription, and later saw action in east Tennessee. In a fierce counterattack against Northern forces, Lt. John Astooga Stoga was killed, and his enraged braves reportedly scalped Northern soldiers who fell into their hands.

In the late fall of 1862 the Legion was sent to Madison County to suppress Yankee bushwhackers in that area; by spring 1863 the Thomas Legion had added Levi’s Light Battery of artillery, and had grown to an 2800 man force.

In the Battle of Limestone Station, Major William C. Walker’s battalion of the Legion captured 314 Northern prisoners; shortly thereafter Lt. Colonel J.R. Love’s 600-man regiment charged the 5th Indiana Cavalry who fled the field in disorder. Love’s men would fight under General “Grumble” Jones at Piedmont in early June, 1864; then under General Jubal Early’s command for the 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign. Though battle wounds and death had diminished the ranks by March 1865, more recruiting had brought the Legion up to 1200 effectives. By May of 1865, the Thomas Legion was the only Southern unit east of the Mississippi that had not capitulated to Northern forces.

Having surrounded a Northern mounted infantry unit with the Cherokee battalion and Love’s regiment near Waynesville on May 10th, the Legion disbanded and returned to their nearby homes and farms. Thomas was bankrupted by the war and spent most of his postwar life in asylums; he died on May 10th, 1893 in Morganton.

Tennessee tourist arrested for bringing pistol into 9/11 Memorial

Really, you can’t bring guns into the 9/11 Memorial?

A tourist from Tennessee waltzed into one of the most secure sites in the city — and politely asked a cop if she could check her weapon.

Instead, she was dragged out in cuffs.

Now, Meredith Graves, 39, is facing at least three years in prison for thinking New York’s gun laws are anything like those in the Bible Belt.

Graves, a fourth-year medical student, showed up at the memorial on Dec. 22 to pay her respects during a trip north for a job interview.

She didn’t realize that the loaded .32-caliber pistol in her purse would be a problem until she saw a sign at the site that read, “No guns allowed,” sources said.

“She remembered she had the gun on her,” a source said. She walked up to a security guard and said, “I have this gun. Where can I check it?”

The guard told her that she was in luck because of “law enforcement day” — and led her to another area.

When she got to that section, she asked another cop, “We have this gun — can we check it in here? We [my husband and I] are not law-enforcement.”

That’s when she was arrested.

Graves, who has a full legal carry permit in Tennessee, was locked up on a weapons-possession charge and held on $2,000 bond that she posted yesterday. She is due in court on March 19.

'I’m a cop, I can do whatever I want ' off-duty policeman shouts before 'executing guy in bar' over a game of darts

An off-duty police officer has been charged with executing a man in a sports bar - after an argument over a game of darts.

Riverside County sheriff's deputy Dayle Long, 42, allegedly shot Samuel Vanettes, 36, three times, leaving him to die on the floor of the bar in Murrieta, California.

It is reported that Long, who had been drinking alone, struck up a conversation with Vanettes and his friends at Spelly’s Bar and Grille before the shooting.

An altercation allegedly broke out after the police officer told one of the friends 'I’m better at darts than you are', Chris Hull, 39, told Patch.com.

'My buddy says, "Aw, you suck at darts". (The man) says, "That’s why I’m a cop, I can do whatever I want to do".'

Hull tsaid his friend asked; 'Really, you can do anything?'

The police officer then pulled out his gun, Hull claimed and after the group repeatedly asked him to put it away he 'pops three rounds into my friend Sam'.

10th Alabama cemetery in VA uncovered 150 years later

About an hour west of Washington, D.C., on a scrubby plot of land overrun by pricker bushes and in the shadow of dense modern townhouse developments, an Alabama cemetery was born.

Civil War preservationists with no personal links to Alabama admit to muttering a "Roll Tide" or two as they walked across the newly cleared land, the final resting place of between 75 and 90 soldiers with the Tenth Alabama Infantry Regiment.

Historical documents and archeological study pinpointed the burial grounds, a desperate place in the late summer of 1861, when rampant disease claimed up to five or six Confederate soldiers a day at what was known as Camp Jones.

There are other signs. The area is devoid of stones, except for five large rocks dug deeply into the dirt, each cut on at least one side by a man-made tool. And the area is pockmarked by man-sized depressions, not in rows, but haphazardly, as if soldiers were buried right where they died.

Indoctrination

The Money Changer

On 28 December 1945 the US congress officially recognized the pledge of allegiance, which had been written by a socialist unitarian in 1892. Until the rise of Nazism & Fascism made it too embarrassing, the pledge was said with the little kiddies' right arms raised in the fascist salute. I don't know -- did that mean anything or not? I'm so dumb I can't tell.

Of course in today's America, after 100+ years of indoctrination, I'd be better off questioning the existence of Santa Claus or evolution than to question the pledge.

And speaking of evolution . . . Never mind, I've run out of space.
