Secession signers should be arrested and tried for treason!

at least Herman R. Brannen of Siler City, NC 919-663-7191 thinks so.:)

We's waitin', big boy.......

The Chatham Record Newspaper in Chatham County NC has published a letter from a man in Siler City for a warrant and arrest of me (Nov 28, 2012 edition) chuckle,  for just asking Obama to allow North Carolina to peacefully secede.  Here’s my response to this individual:

I’m bewildered on the basis of Mr. Brannen’s letter to the Chatham Record that I be served a warrant for treason and arrested for my peaceful petition request for President Obama allowing NC to peacefully secede.

These matters appear to be of the mind-set of the…

National Socialist regime of 1933 in Germany of being arrested for speaking out against the state.  Last time I checked, my freedom of speech was still intact.

If memory serves me, it was President Obama that told Christians to quit clinging to their Guns and Bibles and the next potential generation of homegrown terrorist could be United States vets (in which I am one from the Vietnam era), including several generations of my family fighting in all the World Wars, including the Korean War.

Lests don’t be bigots here, this Republic was founded on secession from the British Empire.
This is not about my guy loosing in the election, I didn’t even like Romney.  It’s about the principles of what our Constitution was intended to be, that has been perverted by politicians and courts alike throughout the course of our short history as a free Republic.

Yet as Obama said, if you do not like my free speech “come after me”, We’ll sit down and have a sweet tea Summit, chuckle.

If I may quote one of our founding fathers, Franklin quoted us, “here’s your free Republic, good luck on keeping it”

Store Clerk Shoots Black in Self Defense – Now Black Community in Uproar

"Father", you raised a punk for a son. Filed under tough titty.

 VERBATIM

I hate talking about the race issue because there is only one race: the human race.  Yes, there are different ethnic groups within the human race.  Some have darker skin, others lighter skin.  Some have almond shaped eyes, others have more rounded shaped eyes.  Some ethnic groups are quite tall and others quite short.  But the bottom line is that we are all part of the same human race and need to treat each other accordingly and stop trying to use race as a tool of hatred.

Case in point is what happened to Alexander Calloway of Houston, Texas.  Calloway, 21 and two other young black men approached a Valero gas station at 3:30 am, only to find it closed and the doors locked.  Instead of leaving, Calloway and his friends banged on the front door and yelled at the clerk who was working inside.  An argument ensued through the locked glass door.

In an attempt to resolve the matter, the clerk unlocked the door and tried to end the argument when Calloway hit him in the face.  Seeing that the other two men had guns, the clerk drew his own gun out and shot his attacker in the stomach.  Calloway was rushed to a local fire station by his cousin.  He was then sent to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police watched the surveillance tape of the incident and ruled that the clerk shot in self-defense and that his actions were justified.  Of course, the clerk is not black, so even though he was the one who was first assaulted, Calloway’s father, along with a number in the local black community are all up in arms and want the clerk arrested and convicted.

I’ve seen this all too often across the country.  Had the clerk been black and Calloway white, there would be no protests and no calls for justice.  If anything, the white guy would be found guilty of a hate crime for punching a black guy in the face.  But in real life, it was a non-black guy who defended himself against three armed blacks and now the blacks are blaming him and demanding justice.  I noticed I didn’t hear his dad say anything about his son assaulting the clerk first or that his wonderful son bears any blame.  And now, the clerk is out of a job because of the community pressure and protest against the store.

When will it all end or will it end?  The saddest part in all of this is that it is the blacks that keep pouring fire on racial hatred.  They are the ones that keep hollering the most when it is one way and not the other.  Years ago I was worked the electric company as a meter reader and one of my routes took me into an all black area of town.  I can’t tell you have many times I was yelled at, had someone in my face threatening me or how many times I was eyewitness to drug abuse and other crimes.  But the incident that got to me the most was when a 3-4 year old boy walked up to me and called me a ‘m.f. whitey’ and told me to get my white ass out of his yard.

It became obvious to me that it isn’t society that causes blacks to become hateful and bitter, rather they are taught to be that way by their families.  They are taught to hate whites from the earliest of age and that hatred continually gets fueled by family and friends as they grow up.

It’s no different than the way Muslim youth are raised to hate Jews, Christians and Americans from when they are very young.  By the time they enter their teens, they’re already armed and ready to kill.
Proverbs 22:6 says:
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Unfortunately, too many children today are not being trained in the ways of the Lord and many of the racial issues we see taking place testifies to this.

Prudhomme Lost Cajun Kitchen Must Offer Church Discount to Atheists

Do you recall the furor surrounding Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen, a Pennsylvania-based restaurant, this past summer? The establishment has been offering a 10 percent discount for individuals who bring in a church bulletin on Sundays. Citing this action as discriminatory, John Wolff, a local atheist, filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC). Now, the restaurant will be forced to offer discounts to any individual who brings in a pamphlet involving religious faith — including atheism.

To continue offering its discount, Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen must now honor literature that comes from any religious institution, The Christian Post reports. This includes secular bulletins from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist activist non-profit, and faith-based documents pertaining to Judaism, Islam and other religions on Sundays.

City Attorney of Bankrupt San Bernardino: 'Lock Your Doors and Load Your Guns'

City attorney of San Bernardino Jim Penman had the audacity to tell the truth to the residents of bankrupt San Bernardino at a recent city council meeting. Taking stock of the fact that San Bernardino’s murder rate has jumped 50 percent over the last year, that the city has been cutting its police force by about 80 officers, and that there is no good news in sight, Penman stated, “lock your doors and load your guns.” He stands by the statement today, explaining, “you should say what you mean and mean what you say.”

Re: Interim Haywood County "Display Policy"

Dear Mr. Killian:

This is a follow up to our letter of 19 November where we critiqued the County's interim "Display Policy" and your proposed "Display Policy," as unconstitutional.

Without waiving or altering anything in our critique letter, this is to inform you, the County Commissioner's and Haywood County Employees that the North Carolina Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Western North Carolina Flaggers intend to respect and conform our conduct to the current interim "Display Policy" by displaying only "official government flags" as defined by NC General Statute 144-7(c)(4); being "The flag of any state or territory of the United States," ie. the flag of the State of Mississippi. An image of the Mississippi State flag is attached.

Out of respect to your proposed policy, we will not display more than 2 flags at the monument, and we will pick them up at the end of the business day. It is our request that flags placed on Friday afternoon or Saturday be allowed to remain undisturbed throughout the weekend.

Please instruct the County Maintainance staff that the display of the Mississippi State flag comports in every way with the interim "Display Policy" adopted by the Haywood County Board of Commissioners on August 20, 2012 and therefore should not be removed or molested in any way.

I am also authorized to say that the SCV and WNC Flaggers consider premature removal of these flags from County Monuments by private persons or state actors to constitute theft and monument desecration.

Please feel free to call if we need to discuss.

Sincerely,

Descendant of free black Confederate awarded

Roundabout via Carl

Katheryne Boone Hamilton shows off the Marion Joyner Watson award at the Tom Smith Camp of Sons of Confederate Veterans meeting on Monday. She is the second black person to receive the award honoring those who help preserve Confederate history.
VERBATIM

The Tom Smith Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans on Monday presented its 18th annual Marion Joyner Watson award to Katheryne Boone Hamilton, the descendant of a free black man who served for the Confederacy in the Civil War.

Her great-grandfather, Jason Boone, was born and raised in the Skeetertown area of the old Nansemond County, the descendent of Joe Skeeter, for whom the area had been named.

Hamilton, a Holland-area native and retired nurse, discovered her ancestor’s history of service in the late ‘90s, when her sister “got bit by the genealogy research bug.” They found that Jason Boone and his brother, Anthony, both served for the Confederacy.

“Jason Boone was a member of a community of freeborn blacks that had been in existence for over 150 years,” Hamilton said, speaking of what she believes was her ancestor’s motive for fighting for the Confederacy. “He had a lot at stake. I’m sure he thought about what was going to happen to Skeetertown. (When he saw others going to war), he felt like he was obligated to march off as well. He had a home to protect as well as they did.”

Both brothers survived the war and lived to be old men. Jason Boone fathered 30 children in two different marriages.

After discovering her great-grandfather’s history of service, Hamilton read about Sons of Confederate Veterans member Lee Hart in a newspaper article and called him.

During Monday’s ceremony, Hart recalled that conversation fondly, saying they connected as if they had known each other for years.

“She is a true friend, someone who I have the utmost respect for,” said Hart, the 2001 recipient of the Marion Joyner Watson award. “We are honoring her, because she deserves it.”

Hart encouraged Hamilton to track down Jason Boone’s grave, and she found it in the Skeetertown area. It didn’t have a veteran’s stone, so Hart helped her acquire one. It was placed during a ceremony in 1999 with Confederate honors.

The event attracted national media publicity. Hamilton said many members of her family, including her children and grandchildren, have been supportive, but others would rather have forgotten about their relatives’ service to the Confederacy.

But Hamilton cannot stand by and allow the truth to be covered up or neglected, she said.

“There are some naysayers that say it never happened,” Hamilton said. “I tell people, ‘You don’t have to believe me. Just let this be a catalyst for you to do your own research.’ I don’t try to force it on anyone, but I simply suggest to do your own research.”

Since discovering his story, Hamilton has visited schools, churches and civic groups to talk about her great-grandfather’s service.

“It has been a 14-year odyssey of educating people,” she said. “Anytime I’m called upon, I step forth to try to share with them.”

Hamilton also is working on her United Daughters of the Confederacy application.

“Katheryne Boone Hamilton is, to put it simply, a very special lady,” said Rebecca Sharrett, president of the Suffolk UDC chapter.

Tom Smith Camp Commander Mike Pullen said estimates vary for the number of blacks who served in the Confederate Army. Some sources say 60,000, but “I’ve heard numbers higher than that,” he said.

The Marion Joyner Watson award is given by the Tom Smith Camp to honor someone who has worked to preserve the heritage of the Confederacy or honor veterans in Suffolk and the old Nansemond County.

The first award was given to Watson herself shortly before she died. Initially meant to be a one-time honor of her, the chapter decided to make it an annual affair after her death.

The chapter hasn’t shied away from giving the award to black recipients. Councilman Curtis Milteer Sr. received it in 2006 after signing a declaration to observe Confederate History Month in Suffolk during a term as mayor.

‘We Are About to Have a Tea Party Second Wave that Will Dwarf the First Wave’

VERBATIM

Republicans will win the game of fiscal chicken with the President and foresees a huge new wave of the Tea Party.

In my interview (here at 31:30) I asked Norquist about his being the latest Obama and Obama Media diversion in what is supposed to be a serious discussion about the future

of taxation and spending. He brushed it off saying he's used to it. He also said the President is the least serious player in the legislative scrum.  He was heartened by the way Republican Senators were demanding today that any 'fiscal cliff' negotiations be on C-Span and any bill forthcoming should be on the web for at least a week was a "big break through; good stuff." In fact, he said, "I think we have a shot at [getting transparency] it; I think this is breaking well."

Norquist claims the President is poised to overplay his hand again,

He is overplaying his mandate, just as he did four years ago. Four years ago, he took a 70% support level and drove it down to below 50% in a matter of months by spending all that crazy money on stimulus and TARP II and other spending programs, because somehow he thought the American people had signed up for this. They hadn't. Now he thinks they've signed up for massive tax increases as well as spending increases and, I've got news for him, 86% of his ads were Romney's an idiot, Romney will give you cancer. He won a mandate not to be Romney, OK? Not the same thing as a mandate to tax and spend.

There's much more about the discussion that I'll put in a new post tomorrow, but consider what he said about the Tea Party involvement in this discussion of the 'fiscal cliff.'
We are about to have a Tea Party second wave that will dwarf the first wave and that is because while 'spend too much' brought the Tea Party into existence, we're about to walk into 'spend too much, regulate too much, and tax too much, all together. It's going to be a perfect storm of annoying government behavior, which is devastating to the economy, and I think the small business community which is particularly hit by Obama's tax increases are going to lead the fight bigger, stronger, tougher than the last Tea Party.

He's not the only one who believes this.

NC School Orders 6-year-old to Remove 'God' From Poem

A North Carolina community is embroiled in controversy after a school ordered a six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she was supposed to read during a Veteran’s Day ceremony.

The girl is a first-grader at West Marion Elementary School. She was supposed to read the poem during a school assembly marking Veteran’s Day. The poem honored her two grandfathers who had served during the Vietnam War.

“He prayed to God for peace, he prayed to God for strength,” the poem read.

A parent reportedly found out about the poem and expressed concern about mentioning the word God during a school event. The parent did not want the Almighty’s name mentioned anywhere in the program, according to one account.

“We wanted to make sure we were upholding the school district’s responsibility of separation of church and state from the Establishment Clause,” Supt. Gerri Martin told the McDowell News.
Martin told the newspaper she made the decision in consultation with the school’s principal and vice principal.

“We jointly decided that we must err on the side of caution to prevent crossing the line on the Establishment Clause of the Constitution,” Kirkpatrick told the newspaper. “As a principal of a public school, I must put aside my personal religious beliefs and follow the law — which upholds that we have freedom of speech and freedom of religion, but that we, as public schools, cannot endorse one single religion over another.”

Fox News contacted the parents of the child but they declined to comment on the controversy.
The incident has sparked widespread concern across this western North Carolina community — called by many the buckle of the Bible Belt.

A Rhyme from the Desk of Honesty

There once was a Democrat, from Illinois, a grand total of less than a decade in elected service had he… Promise this promise that, ‘fundamentally change’ this great country was where it was at.

SO full of Hope and Change was he, he refused to get off the neck of people like me.
He seemed so perfect, so beautiful, so inclusive.
But the truth has been so elusive.

The media cooed at him from the first day on the scene
That is not their job and never has been.
Now he’s been reelected and serves for 4 more
the rest of the ride will surely be not a bore.

The fiscal cliff, including massive taxes
will make America wish for picks and axes.
Death tax, Health Care, Capital Gains increase too
We gotta get mo revenue!

One day not too far from now,
The media will hang their head in shame.
For there will be no one else to blame.

Communist Party USA celebrates Obama win

“An enormous people’s victory.” That’s how the political party of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels jubilantly celebrated the results of the 2012 presidential election in the United States, which will put Barack Obama in the White House for another four years.

The comment was in a report to the Communist Party USA national committee from the party’s chairman, Sam Webb.

“We meet on the heels of an enormous people’s victory. It was a long and bitterly contested battle in which the forces of inclusive democracy came out on top. The better angels of the American people spread their wings,” he wrote in the online report.

He said blacks, Hispanics and women worked together to defeat “racist … white people” and that it now is time for the Communist Party USA to work on the foundations established by Obama on issues regarding the environment, homosexual marriage and minorities to its potential.

Some Things Never Change

VERBATIM

I had dinner in my favorite hometown restaurant recently, Parker’s Barbecue in Wilson, N.C., Now there are Parkers around in various North Carolina towns, but they are all a little different and I don’t know much about them. When I say my “favorite,” I am talking about the Wilson version.

A couple came in, paused to read the “Seat yourself” sign by the door, then found the table next to mine in the middle of the restaurant. One of the waiters, a teenage boy in a white apron and white paper cap, came over and asked if they needed to see a menu. Most people don’t, of course, because they know everything that is on it. The man laughed and said, “Yes, we do. It has been a long time since we’ve been here.”

The waiter answered, “Don’t worry. It hasn’t changed.”

I thought, you know, that’s is a great thing to hear. You  can’t say that about many things these days, but when it comes to Parker’s Barbecue it’s true. Parker’s is older than I am but it is still good. The same thing I ate at Parkers on visits to the tobacco market when I was six years old is the same thing they serve now, made and served the same way  and with the same flavor.

The tradition goes from the Carolina-style vinegar-based  barbecue and chicken, to the décor and furniture. The same knotty pine that has always adorned the walls is still here. There are some framed photos blown up to giant size on the wall, of round 1940s Fords and Plymouths parked in the driveways, like giant lima beans lined up in front of the same building façade you just strode up the walkway  into. Other photos center around the tobacco market that was once so influential in Wilson. For years - until the federal quota buyout in 2004 - Wilson was known as the World’s Greatest Tobacco Market. In its heyday great stars would perform in the town during the annual tobacco festival. Bing Crosby once performed in the town, and home-grown comedians like Mustard and Gravy got their start at the festival and then made it big in Hollywood, too.

All that is gone, now, but we still have Parkers.

In my estimation, it isn’t one particular food that makes Parkers so good. It is the way all the foods and flavors go together. Not that the other selections aren’t good, but almost everybody gets a chicken and barbecue combination with boiled potatoes, Brunswick stew, slaw and corn sticks. Every time you get it, it is the same – and it’s always good. The sweet tea, with just the right amount and consistency of ice, goes down smooth and sweet  as ice cream. The service is great. The boys in white aprons, usually 16 to 25 year old or so, whisk around the tables like electrons. By the time you settle in good, the door to the kitchen flies open and here come your plates on big, pewter colored  trays. There is never much waiting at Parkers.

The thought of ice cream reminds me of another association with Parkers. Once some tobacco industry folks held a meeting at Parkers and ate family style in one of the back rooms. But the guy throwing the shindig wanted  to spruce it up a bit, and make the dinner he was sponsoring just a little bit better than the last meeting. He asked the waiter to bring some deserts. The waiter said, “deserts?” like he had never heard the word before. Everybody laughed.

It’s not that desserts aren’t a good thing. But everybody knows Parkers doesn’t offer deserts. There a few candy bars at the counter, but no official desserts, not even banana pudding or ice cream. After all, dessert is just not needed. Parkers is perfect just the way it is.

Federal Land Seizure Act Resuscitating Itself from the Dead

“Looks like GOA defeated Goliath. Nice work.”

GOA warned you earlier this month about S. 3525, the Federal Land Seizure Act of 2012.

As you will remember, Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) -- who is “F” rated by Gun Owners of America -- is pushing this “hunting” bill which authorizes the Obama administration almost unlimited power to seize private lands for “environmental” purposes.

While it purports to the contrary, the bill would allow these seizures without the permission of the landowners for virtually any reason.

You guys delivered a crushing blow to this bill when you pressed your Senators to oppose it.  We won, and it appeared the bill was dead for the year.

As one highly placed office in the Senate told GOA:  “Looks like GOA defeated Goliath. Nice work.”

Sadly, in politics it’s often the case that a dead “Goliath,” like a Zombie, can come back to life -- which is why we need now to cut off its head.  S. 3525 could come up for a vote as early as Today.

Deputies: Store clerk fears for her life, shoots robbery suspect

An overnight robbery attempt in Richland County ended in a shootout with a store clerk Wednesday morning.  One person was sent to the hospital.

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department say three black males armed with handguns entered the Corner Pantry store at 5413 Forest Drive to commit a robbery.  After demanding money and lottery tickets, investigators say the suspects fired several shots in the air.

Deputies say that is when the store clerk, fearing for her life, grabbed her weapon and returned fire.  One of the suspects was hit in the upper body and sent to the hospital.  Investigators don’t know his condition.

Investigators also believe a second suspect was hit but they are still looking for him in addition to the third suspect.

The store is located near the intersection of Forest Drive and Percival Road.

Post-US world born in Phnom Penh

Via WRSA

Things certainly have changed.

=========================

It is symptomatic of the national condition of the United States that the worst humiliation ever suffered by it as a nation, and by a US president personally, passed almost without comment last week. I refer to the November 20 announcement at a summit meeting in Phnom Penh that 15 Asian nations, comprising half the world's population, would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.

President Barack Obama attended the summit to sell a US-based Trans-Pacific Partnership excluding China. He didn't. The American led-partnership became a party to which no-one came.

Instead, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will form a club and leave out the United States. As 3 billion Asians become prosperous, interest fades in the prospective contribution of 300 million Americans - especially when those Americans decline to take risks on new technologies. America's great economic strength, namely its capacity to innovate, exists mainly in memory four years after the 2008 economic crisis.

Hipsters On Food Stamps

Via WRSA

In the John Waters-esque sector of northwest Baltimore -- equal parts kitschy, sketchy, artsy and weird -- Gerry Mak and Sarah Magida sauntered through a small ethnic market stocked with Japanese eggplant, mint chutney and fresh turmeric. After gathering ingredients for that evening's dinner, they walked to the cash register and awaited their moments of truth.
Those are two "hipsters", and the punchline is that they pay for their foodie porn with foodie stamps, which sounds like it should be a terrible thing, except it's in Salon.com, which means they're going to try and tell you how it's a good thing, which they don't, because they can't.  It's madness.

It's very easy and satisfying to hate these two, and nothing would make me happier than to hit them square in the back with a jack-o-lantern.  But I also recognize that I am being told to hate them, so I have to take a step back and find out why it is so important that I hate them.  I did.  I should have just reached for the pumpkin.

No one but the state and psychiatry can profit from another's misery, and they are the same thing, so let's see why Election Day doesn't matter.

I.

First, the obvious: what's wrong with hipsters on food stamps is that these are college educated people who should be able to get jobs, not live off the state.   They're not black, after all.  Hell, one of the two in the article is even Asian.  "What, like Russian Asian?"  No, like Asian Asian.  "Whaaaaaaat?"

"It's the economy, stupid!"  Thanks guy from 1992, but the economy did not tell you to go to college for something you knew in advance would make you unemployable, especially when that unemployable choice cost exactly the same as the employable choice, i.e. too much.  Lesson one at the academia should be the importance of separating vocation from avocation, as character actor Fred Thompson and electrical contractor Benjamin Franklin both understood. When I was six I wanted to be in Playboy.  Just because it's your dream, doesn't mean you should pursue it.

So what makes them hatable is the seeming choice they have made: they could work, yes at jobs they don't like but hey, that's America; but instead they choose to feel entitled to  $200/month from the rest of us salarymen.

However, secondly:

Legal victory against Obamacare 'mandate'

 contraceptive

A federal appeals court has agreed with three U.S. district judges and blocked the enforcement of the Obamacare “mandate” that would have forced a Missouri company to pay for health insurance including abortifacients in violation of the religious beliefs of the owners.

The order from a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is the first from the appellate level among the dozens of cases challenging the Obamacare mandate.

According to officials with the American Center for Law and Justice, the order puts on hold the White House-promoted requirement in the case involving Frank R. O’Brien and O’Brien Industrial Holdings, a St. Louis, Mo., company that runs a number of businesses that explore, mine and process refractory and ceramic raw materials.

“By granting our motion, the appeals court blocks the implementation of the HHS mandate and clears the way for our lawsuit to continue – a significant victory for our client,” said Francis Manion, senior counsel of the ACLJ. “The order sends a message that the religious beliefs of employers must be respected by the government. We have argued from the beginning that employers like Frank O’Brien must be able to operate their business in a manner consistent with their moral values, not the values of the government. We look forward to this case moving forward and securing the constitutional rights of our client.”

Bozell Threatens to Steer Donors Away From GOP If They Vote for Tax Hikes

Brent Bozell, a veteran conservative advocate and fundraiser, says that if Republican legislators agree to a budget deal that raises taxes he will urge donors to refrain from giving to offending Republican congressmen and the party.

Bozell founded Media Research Center, a watchdog group which has an annual budget of more than $10 million. He’s chairman of the advocacy group ForAmerica and says he has generated hundreds of millions of dollars for “an alphabet soup of conservative causes,” The Hill reports.

Bozell sent a letter to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus Wednesday outlining his views.

“Reince, it pains me to say this, but if the Republican Party breaks its word to the American people and goes along with President Obama with tax increases, it will have betrayed conservatives for the final time,” he wrote.

“I will make it my mission to ensure that every conservative donor to the Republican Party that I have worked with for the last three decades — there are many, and they have given tens of millions to Republican causes — gives not one penny more to the Republican Party or any member of Congress that votes for tax increases.”

Northern Rule and Ruin

The South was a dominant force in American government for most of its existence since the Revolution, its leaders preeminent as presidents, jurists and legislators, and its long record of leadership honorable and productive. Within four years of its inception in 1856, the Republican party of the North had forced sufficient internal strife and political turmoil to cause one State to withdraw from the voluntary Union, to be followed by many more.

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
www.ncwbts150.com
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Northern Rule and Ruin:

“No comparative act in the history of any civilized nation of the world is to be found which is on par with the results brought forth by the wartime amendments and the Reconstruction Acts. It all grew out of results a new party in power initiated when, about 1858, the old regime of Southern hold upon the Congress gave way to Northern newcomers.

Senator [James Henry] Hammond of South Carolina in a speech on the Kansas Bill then used words of solemn and historical accuracy when he said, “You have complained of the rule of the South; that has been another cause that has preserved you….We have kept the government conservative to the great purposes of government. We have placed her and kept her upon the Constitution, and that has been the cause of your prosperity.

The Senator from New York (Mr. Seward) says that is about to end; that you intend to take the government from us; that it will pass from our hands. Perhaps what he says is true, but do not forget – it cannot be forgotten – it is written on the brightest page of human history that we took our country in her infancy, and after ruling her for sixty out of seventy years of her existence, we shall surrender he to you without a stain upon her honor, boundless in her prosperity, incalculable in her strength, the wonder and admiration of the world….Time will show what you will make of her; but no time can diminish our glory or your responsibility.”

Time had indeed shown – a mere decade of it, from 1858 to 1868 – a Civil War and an attempted overturn of the American form of government. The South had been charged, she would “rule or ruin”; but it is shown that the North, “taking over the government,” as the Southern senator stated, did “rule AND ruin” nigh half a great nation.

As the truths of 1861-65 emerge, we see but the barren Pyrrhic victory won on false pretenses, and memorialized on labored perversions and obscurities, a Lincoln of fabulous creation and facultative dimensions, the false god of idolatrous devotees, an “Olympian” that never was!”

Letter I just sent to my Representatives

By Don @ L&P

People, this story MUST be kept on the front burner, especially if you have family deployed, if not, then they too could be ignored and allowed to die in some foreign country on an illegal "political" operation.

Imagine your loved one on a rooftop in a hostile country lasing a hostile target for fire support that will never come, lasing the target and repeatedly requesting fire support while Obama, the DoD, the NSA, the NSC, the CIA, and others, watched in real time from two separate drones... They lase the the target until the bad guys see the Americans position and bring mortar and machine-gun fire down on them. All while others watched and denied life saving relief.

I urge you to take action, let your Reps know you are watching them, that you want people held accountable. Then pass on to family and friends, this miscarriage of justice must not be allowed to stand.

Should you wish, take and modify the following letter as needed.

Letter I just sent to my Reps:

You all KNOW what went on with the Benghazi CIA Operations Center, you all KNOW four Americans were murdered by the Obama Administration’s incompetence, you KNOW a massive cover-up is ongoing… YOU KNOW IT!

And by god you had better get off your asses and do something about it, not the B.S. window dressing you have going on right now. Rice is a distraction; But you already KNOW that.

Many people are taking note of this fiasco, including active and “retired” military members. We are DEMANDING action, should you not immediately begin serious investigations then those men’s deaths are also on YOUR hands.

Any involved in this cover-up, and any who continue to hold up these investigations, need serious prison time, including complicit and/or incompetent politicians.

Four Americans were left to die when assets were available to assist them, and I find it disgusting that you continue this charade, do what is right and do it NOW or reap the whirlwind.

More background on the Benghazi 'Fast and Furious' operation, where weapons and support were being funneled to KNOWN Terrorists:

Benghazi explained: Interview with an "Intelligence Insider"

It was not a diplomatic station. It was a planning and operations center, a logistics hub for weapons and arms being funneled out of Libya.

Poll: First time since 20000 majority Says Federal Government Shouldn't Be Responsible for Healthcare

Since most of the data in post-election polling has offered little beyond a parade of ugly news, here's a glimmer of hope from Gallup:

For the first time in Gallup trends since 2000, a majority of Americans say it is not the federal government's responsibility to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage. Prior to 2009, a majority always felt the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all, though Americans' views have become more divided in recent years...Republicans, including Republican-leaning independents, are mostly responsible for the drop since 2007 in Americans' support for government ensuring universal health coverage. In 2007, 38% of Republicans thought the government should do so; now, 12% do. Among Democrats and Democratic leaners there has been a much smaller drop, from 81% saying the government should make sure all Americans are covered in 2007 to 71% now.

A look at the trendlines:

DSS Notice Regarding Secession Petitions

Via Don

Defense Security Service, U.S. Department of Defense

VERBATIM

DSS personnel have recently received questions from security personnel at cleared contractors about whether contractors should file adverse information reports pursuant to NISPOM paragraph 1-302 regarding cleared persons who sign petitions to allow a state to withdraw or secede from the United States.
It also appears that erroneous statements have been made to the effect that DSS is directing contractors to treat the signing of such petitions as reportable adverse information.

Please note that DSS has not provided any approved direction or guidance. DSS is not directing any contractor to file adverse information reports regarding persons who have signed secession or withdrawal petitions. This issue is under review and DSS will provide information to contractors when that review is complete.

"The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered as the palladium of the liberties of a republic." --Joseph Story
On the most recent "Black Friday," the day after Thanksgiving, which has become the biggest commercial sales day of the year, despite the continuing economic decline1, there were record sales in one notable product category: Guns.

According to Stephen Fischer, director of the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System, "NICS experienced its highest number of transactions processed since system inception [in 1998], with 154,873, which is nearly 20 percent over the 129,166 processed on Black Friday 2011." This year's total checks will undoubtedly beat last year's record of 16.4 million.

In fact, the top 10 record gun sales days have occurred since Barack Obama's election in 2008, and gun ownership has skyrocketed over the last four years. According to a worldwide survey conducted the year before Obama's election, though the United States had only 5% of the world's population, Americans owned 50% of the world's guns. Of course, unlike virtually every other nation, Americans are ensured the incontrovertible right to arm themselves.

The current estimate of legally and privately held guns in the U.S. is more than 250 million (the average gun-owning household having three guns).

With that as a backdrop, I was asked this week if Patriots have an obligation to arm themselves -- to be gun owners, and be proficient at the use of arms. I thought at first the question was rhetorical, but after some consideration, I realize that there are millions of grassroots Patriots who are NOT among the 60 million plus2 Patriots who are already law-abiding gun owners.

Apparently, the question needs to be addressed, as the answer may not be as obvious to some folks as it should be. By way of responding to this question, let me first briefly reiterate the historical and enduring case for gun ownership, which is as relevant today and tomorrow as it was at the dawn of our national founding.
There are two foundational tenets of Essential Liberty3 that all American Patriots4 must understand and embrace in order to sustain Liberty and extend it to the next generation.

First, it is "self-evident" that Liberty is an "unalienable right," innately assured as "endowed by our Creator5." In other words, it is not awarded by men or government; it is the birthright of all people.

“Witness”

Awhile back I noted comments by Dr. Fred Schwartz in his book You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists).  Dr. Schwartz noted that many look at Communists or Marxists as nothing more than hypocrites and liars and in so doing they miss the true intent of the Marxist mindset. To the Marxist mentality there is such a thing as Marxist truth and that “truth” is founded on whatever the current Marxist agenda happens to be in any given area. Hence to the Marxist it is completely alright to lie, deceive, steal or to do whatever else furthers the Marxist program. To them all such activities are Marxist truth, and hence, are all moral activities for him, or her. For the Marxist the end really does justify the means, no matter how foul those means may be.

Recently, I took Whittaker Chambers’ book Witness  back down off my bookshelf. I had gotten this back in the 1980s sometime, had started to read it and got about half way through it and somehow got sidetracked and never finished it. I am in the process of finishing it now and I had forgotten what fascinating reading it is. Chambers became enamored  of Communism when he was twenty four years old and spent the next thirteen years in the Communist apparatus in this country, getting to know all sorts of people that were outright Communists or “fellow-travelers” (people who support Communism but never join the Party).

At some point, it began to dawn on him how totally evil Communism really was and that he had to withdraw himself from its clutches, which he then began to work at. Although he doesn’t really describe it in those terms, it seems that, for him, this was, foremost, a theological decision. He described Communism as a “faith” and he was right. It is. It is a substitute faith for Christianity where the Party takes the place of Jesus Christ and assumes a certain divinity in the Marxist soul.

Constructing and Finding Hiding Places

Via midnightrider

I am a law enforcement officer by trade. The area I work, as more and more areas often do nowadays, has an unfortunate problem with Meth. Most often, Meth is carried in 1.5”x1.5” plastic baggies that are usually folded up. As you can imagine, people get awfully desperate when trying to hide them.  As you can also imagine, a large portion of my time is spent trying to find them. If you imagine something about the size of a postage stamp or SD card that will give you a pretty good idea of the size we are dealing with. I also have investigated countless burglary calls, so have seen firsthand not only the patterns that thieves follow when searching for loot, but the patterns people follow when hiding things.

I also happen to be a prepper, so in addition to needing to find stuff in my job, I understand the need for discreet storage in my personal life. I will approach this article from two ways: First, I’ll go over some of the more imaginative places I’ve seen things hidden, and hopefully share some tips and tricks that will open up more storage/hiding places for you. Second, I’ll go over some steps and methods to help you find things if you are the one looking. The better you get at finding things, the better you get at hiding them. Whether it’s hiding something quickly on your person or finding something on someone you are searching, or creating a long term cache, I hope this helps open up some new avenues to you.

Inflation Estimate

VERBATIM

My best estimate for inflation on my own consumer goods basket this year is 21% rather than the official 3%. Product and service quality have dropped noticeably to maintain a price point. Personal incomes have dropped largely because government spending is crowding out private spending. For the first time, imported electronics like cameras are rising in price. Imported optic have been rising in price much faster, to the tune of 40-50% over the last year alone. Personally, I do not find my own lifestyle all that greatly affected, but people who had a tight budget last year are probably in trouble now.

Over the last seventy years, average annual inflation seems to hover around 5%. Late 1970s through 1980 inflation was relatively high, and we may be returning to that state now.

Do The Socialists Own You?

communism-in-romania-1

VERBATIM

A large sharp thorn in the leftist, radical, health care proposals brought to us by Obama’s friends is the question of who owns you? This thorn stuck me in every square inch of my body as I read excerpts from HR3200 and also the section of the Stimulus Bill that handed over our rights to unelected Czars. The arrogant assumptions made in the health care legislation are simply that bureaucrats in the Federal Government know better than you do about what is good for you, and that they have the right to force you into their socialist traps.

Slavery has many faces. Socialism is just another form of slavery. Period. No question. Socialism takes your person and hands it over to government bureaucrats. The blacks who are having fits over Obama and calling everyone who disagrees with him a racist are buying into slavery to the Federal Government because it is sponsored by one of their own. And if you are white and you disagree with Obama, the knee jerk reaction of the blacks is that you are a racist, which could not be further from the truth. This is upside down total insanity, the likes of which I cannot fathom. White people in this country fought for the rights of blacks. White people brought us a Constitution which acknowledges and insures the rights of individuals of any color. So why the disconnect? Does the fact that white people did these things offend blacks?

The first clue we had was Jeremiah Wright, who mentored Obama for twenty years. The message of Wright’s church was Black Liberation Theology, a theme of irrational hate towards white people and the United States. The mainstream media played that down as if the issue was just white people being ‘racist’ again by complaining about that. But here we are now and Black Liberation Theology is being slammed down America’s throat. How? By the Obama administration making sure that every single criticism against them is deemed ‘racist.’ The Obama administration is in the process of dividing America racially as much as any historical act of slavery ever did. This time, the ruse is so clever that it is a black man in charge of the Federal Government who is enslaving people. At this point I am picturing the glee of Obama and his henchmen at the prospects of actually getting away with enslaving all of Americans for their own power mad agenda.

The obvious irony is that black people are buying into slavery. And they are buying it because it is a black bringing it on. Do they see it as some kind of ‘pay back’ for some fictional offense that has not taken place since the 1940′s? Does this generation of blacks have a clue about how they are losing their rights to Obama’s tyranny along with the rest of us? Or are they just blinded by the idea that because Obama is half black that he must be on their side? I’m sorry to report this, but no, he isn’t. He is on his own side, period. He is doing what greases his bank account, inflates his ego, and gives him power. If you are black, why can’t you see that? If you are black you are going to be more marginalized by Obama, but this time all of us are marginalized, whatever color. Do blacks enjoy marginalization as long as whites are marginalized along with them?? Is that the rationale?

My family and I have never participated in any kind of racist activity against black people. Yet, I see that Obama’s plans include punishing me, along with every other citizen in the country, by enslaving us to his socialist agenda.

This is a test, America. Either you believe in freedom for all of us, or you don’t. Can you imagine how happy we would all be if Obama were in the business of protecting rights for all of us instead of usurping power from us, taking away rights from all of us, and tearing the Constitution to shreds? It is then that blacks in America could truly celebrate this man. Instead, Obama has chosen to enslave us all. A very sad turn of events, indeed.

'Please spare my little girl': How Mexico's fearless female mayor sacrificed herself to save her daughter's life as she was abducted by drug gang, tortured and executed

Maria Santos Gorrostieta had been stabbed, beaten and burned

She defied Mexico's powerful drug gangs, who twice tried to gun her down

She was kidnapped in broad daylight in front of her terrified daughter

The former mayor leaves behind three children

The woman mayor who was kidnapped and murdered by a Mexican drug gang pleaded with her attackers for her young daughter’s life, it emerged today.

Maria Santos Gorrostieta, who had already survived two assassination attempts, was driving the child to school at around 8.30am when she was ambushed by a car in the city of Morelia.

The 36-year-old was hauled from her vehicle and physically assaulted as horrified witnesses watched, according to newspaper El Universal.

They described how she begged for her child to be left alone and then appeared to get into her abductors’ car willingly.

The little girl was left wailing as her mother was driven away on Monday November 12.
For the next week, her frantic family waited by the phone for a ransom call that never came.

Gorrostieta’s body – stabbed, burned, battered and bound at wrist and ankle – would finally be found eight days on dumped by a roadside in San Juan Tararameo, Cuitzeo Township.

She left behind her daughter and two sons as well as her second husband Nereo Delgado Patinoran.

Hailed as a heroine of the 21st century, her death has prompted much soul-searching in a country ravaged by violence.

The decision to withdraw her security team in November last year – and her police escort in January – has come under particular scrutiny.

Gorrostieta was elected as mayor of Tiquicheo, a rural district in Michoacan, west of Mexico City, in 2008.

Almost immediately, she received threats. The first assassination attempt came in October 2009 when the car she was travelling in with her first husband Jose Sanchez came under fire from gunmen in the town of El Limone. The attack claimed his life but Gorrostieta lived.

The horror, a white might win Jesse Jackson’s congressional seat

Via Daily Timewaster

The scramble is on to fill the congressional seat that Jesse Jackson, Jr. had to abandon due to mental illness. And, according to Politico, the black establishment is fearful that the seat might fall into the hands — not of a Republican; there’s no way — but a white.

The concern is that former Rep. Debbie Halvorson, a white Democrat and veteran of suburban Chicago politics, will win the Democratic primary in Illinois’ Second District because the black vote will split among multiple black candidates. Halvorson was trounced by Jackson in this year’s primary. Despite carrying the suburbs, she won only about 30 percent of the total vote. Thus, the black establishment actually has little to fear unless, say, three credible black candidates enter the race. I suspect that, this being Chicago, the establishment will make sure it doesn’t happen.

Guns, Drugs anyone?

Most interesting, except for the price.:)

VERBATIM

There is a secret online gun store that will literally sell anyone anything.

To access it, you have to use powerful encrypting software.

And you will have to pay in bitcoins.

They will ship your firearm to you in pieces unlikely to draw the attention of the Post Office.

And you will get to do time in a federal prison if the government catches you.

Want drugs too?   Same thing with illegal chemical mood enhancers.

The internet is either an amazing resource, or in this case, a great medium for a government sting operation.

Democrats Stole the Election

The electoral fraud evidence is accumulating to the point where I must conclude that the November election was stolen by the Democrats.  In the months leading up to the election, report after report surfaced highlighting significant erosion of support for President Obama.

Personal observation uncovered that no one, other than die-hard Democrats, who voted for Obama in 2008 was proud of that vote and most questioned whether they would vote for him again. On election night as results trickled in, with strange voting anomalies surfacing, the margin of victory, particularly in the swing states, did not pass the “smell test.” Electoral fraud can occur at any stage in the process, but there are three main types: 1) debasing voter rolls with deceased, illegal, and fictitious voter registrations; 2) preventing eligible voters from voting by disenfranchisement, rendering unable to actually vote or duplicative votes, or instituting rules or tests that voters (particularly military absentee voters) are unable to comply; and 3) altering the results by interfering with the voting process or the counting of votes, or manipulating the means of voting through tampering with machines or altering results.  There are numerous examples of each of these fraudulent activities taking place before, during, or after the November election.

Nationwide it is estimated that there are 24 million ineligible voter registrations, including 1.8 million dead people listed as voters.  The National Voter Registration Act includes provisions to ensure accurate and current voter registration rolls, but has never been enforced, despite known problems in many states.  Dead people remain on the rolls, duplicates are not checked, and many registrations are suspect.  There have been 400 cases of voter registration fraud prosecuted (ACORN under its many aliases) and 491 cases of absentee ballot abuse.  The Columbus Dispatch estimated that more than 20% of registered Ohio voters aren’t eligible: in two counties there were 109 registered for every 100 eligible voters; and in 31 counties over 90% of eligible voters registered which is 20% higher than national average.  Unless voter rolls are rigorously scrubbed each year, natural attrition will gradually erode the accuracy and dependability of the voter rolls.

3 more votes and the UN takes control of your child

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,

Yesterday afternoon, the Senate took a preliminary vote on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The vote was on a “Motion to Proceed” which means that the Senate gave permission to begin debate regarding the treaty. As is often the case, this was a preliminary vote which tells us a great deal about the vote for final passage.

The vote was 61 to 36 to proceed to debate. Three senators did not vote. The good news is that the Senate hasn’t proceeded to the next step—ending debate and voting on whether to ratify the treaty.

Every Vote Counts

Every Democratic senator voted for the treaty—Blumenthal (D-CT) was absent and not voting.
The Republicans supplied several “Yes” votes for the Obama administration on giving the UN some authority over America’s policies for disabled adults and children. The seven GOP senators supporting Obama’s UN push were: Ayotte (R-NH), Barrasso (R-WY), Brown (R-MA), Collins (R-ME), Lugar (R-IA), McCain (R-AZ), and Snowe (R-ME).

Senator Hatch (R-UT) also voted to proceed to debate, but we were just notified literally minutes ago that Hatch will vote against ratification of the CRPD. Barrasso was a huge disappointment because of his supposedly conservative stance on issues, but his defection has been known for some time.
A good surprise was that Senator Moran (R-KS) voted against the CRPD on this preliminary matter. Roberts (R-KS) and Kirk (R-IL) were absent.

I urge you all to send an email of thanks to the Republicans who voted against the CRPD. If your senator is a Republican, he or she voted against the CRPD unless mentioned specifically above. You can use the U.S. Senate’s webpage to email your senators.

Price to Pay

I urge you to call all of the other senators yet again and urge them to change their minds and support the principle that Americans should make the law for America. While it is unlikely that Democrats will change their minds, they need to know that there is a price to pay for attacking American parents and giving away American self-government. Answering phone calls for a few more days is a small price to pay for their decision to vote for the UN position. You can find your senators’ phone numbers by typing in your ZIP code here.

Senator Reid has not yet filed the motion needed to take this bill to the next vote which will be for cloture to end debate. Thus, there will be two more votes before the treaty can be ratified. We do not know the timetable yet. It could happen this week; it could be pushed later.

We absolutely have to keep the pressure on the Senate.

But it is very important that you all send emails of thanks to the 36 senators who stood against the UN. The opposition will be urging their people to pour on the calls to these 36 hoping to move just three. If we can keep at least 34, the treaty will be defeated.

Shore up the good guys with emails. Call the others to account with phone calls. Try calling their local offices for a change of pace.

Narrow Margin

The other side needs to change three votes to win. We need to keep up our defense of freedom because no one else will.

Thanks so much. You are making a difference. As you call, our federal relations team and Congressional Action Program families are lobbying face to face on Capitol Hill. The Senate leadership promised that this treaty would be ratified by July 26, 2012. Your calls are the reason we are still in the fight.
