I Warned Small Businesses....

Here it comes....

LOS ANGELES -- Bank of America Corp., under pressure to raise capital and cut risks, is severing lines of credit to some small-business owners who have used them to stay afloat.

The Charlotte, N.C., bank is demanding that these customers pay off their credit line balances all at once instead of making monthly payments. If they can't pay in full, they are being offered new repayment plans for as long as five years, but with far higher interest rates than their original credit lines had.

I have repeatedly warned small businesses of this.

We have become what our fathers in uniform gave their lives to oppose

Yes, Mitt. Ron Paul’s ideas are “out of the mainstream.” And what is that “mainstream?” In 1944, in the midst of World War II, the heroic journalist John T. Flynn wrote:

The test of fascism is not one’s rage against the Italian and German war lords. The test is how many of the essential principles of fascism do you accept and to what extent are you prepared to apply those fascist ideas to American social and economic life? When you can put your finger on the men or the groups that urge for America the debt-supported state, the autarchial corporative state, the state bent on the socialization of investment and the bureaucratic government of industry and society, the establishment of the institution of militarism as the great glamorous public-works project of the nation and the institution of imperialism under which it proposes to regulate and rule the world and, along with this, proposes to alter the forms of our government to approach as closely as possible the unrestrained, absolute government. Then you will know you have located the authentic fascist.

We have become exactly what our fathers and mothers in uniform then gave their lives to oppose. The establishment’s approved and sanctified political spectrum — stretching from Mitt Romney to Barack Obama — advocates fascism. The same special interest predatory elites that supported Mussolini and Hitler now support this "friendly fascism" of the welfare-warfare state.

Ron Paul advocates freedom, peace, and competitive free enterprise — not tyranny, militarism, and bailouts/subsidies for the Wall Street corporate elites preying on the poor and middle classes.

Why I Carry

Via Survival

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

North Carolina Patriots of '61 -- Caldwell County’s Captain William Deal, III and Six Sons

Caldwell County’s Captain William Deal, III -- and Six Sons:

(A Father and Six Sons Who Served, Robert C. Deal, Confederate Veteran, Vol. III, 2002)

Born 14 August 1798 in Lincoln County, William Deal, III was the descendant of German settlers from Pennsylvania’s Palatinate Immigrants who bought cheap and abundant land in western North Carolina.

Deal married Catherine Smyre in 1824 and their union produced twelve children – six sons and six daughters.

The Deal Plantation was located on Clark’s Little River in Cedar Valley, Caldwell County, where William operated a country store, grist mill, woodworking, harness, saddle and blacksmith shop.

In 1836 a United States Post Office was located in his store and the plantation became known as Deal's Mill, North Carolina.

First son (in order above) William Franklin Deal enlisted in 1862, working for the Supply Depot in Salisbury.

Sidney Deal joined the Watauga Rangers in 1862 -- Company D, 1st North Carolina Cavalry. Pinckney, Marcus and Rufus Deal all enlisted in the Caldwell Rough and Ready Boys which became Company A, 22nd North Carolina.

Youngest son Avery Jerome Deal enlisted in Company A, 22nd North Carolina in 1863 at the age of 19.

Rufus served with the 22nd North Carolina until January 1864, he was then then appointed lieutenant of

Company I, 26th North Carolina (Caldwell Guards). He was killed in action at Cold Harbor. Father William journeyed by wagon to tidal Virginia to retrieve his son's body for burial at home.

While his sons were away at the front, father William enlisted in the Caldwell County Home Guard in 1861 at age 61, and promoted to captain in 1863. Daughter Harriet scalded a marauding Northern soldier with hot water in early 1865 as he made off with her setting hen from the chicken house.

Stay classy, Alan Colmes: Mocks Rick Santorum for mourning death of his baby

Milton Wolf
Verbatim Post
This one really boils my blood. Alan Colmes mocked Rick Santorum and his family for wanting to mourn the death of their newborn in the privacy of their own home rather than the sterile and all-too-public hospital setting.

I have unfortunately grieved with more families than I could count, including my own, and if there's one thing I've learned it's this: Everyone grieves differently. At times, I have gently admonished those who are less accepting of that fact.

Evidently, the Santorums chose to briefly -- 2 hours, according to the piece -- take the recently departed remains of their newborn home to grieve in privacy. It's something I think is understandable, particularly for a United States Senator who, unlike the rest of us, would be afforded little privacy in a hospital setting.

Alan Colmes mocked the grieving Santorums as though they "played with it."

This makes me sick. Is this the standard of the American left?

Meet the big shot: SEAL is America’s deadliest sniper

Via Don

Secluded on the top floor of a bombed-out four-story apartment building north of war-scarred Fallujah, Iraq, Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle is just getting comfortable.

It’s November 2004. Thanksgiving time. The second battle of Fallujah has launched, and Kyle is swaddled in silence atop an upturned baby crib, studying the enemy through a Nightforce 4.5-22 power scope attached to a .300 Win Mag rifle.

He’s feeling badass.

“We just got word that the president of Iraq said that anyone left in the city is bad — meaning, clear to shoot,” he recalled for The Post. “From that point on, every fighting-age male was a target.”

DEVIL AND ANGEL: Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle watches over US Marines from his perch atop an upturned baby crib in a bombed-out building in Fallujah, Iraq. Branded a “legend” by his comrades and a “devil” by his enemies, Kyle racked up a record 160 kills.

That was just fine with Kyle, who spent five weeks in the hideout, protecting Marines on the ground and bagging seven confirmed kills — adding to his official total of 160, making him the deadliest sniper in US history.

Post Slams Ron Paul With Fading Elite Promotions

Ron Paul's quest to undo the party of Lincoln ... Let us count the ways in which the nomination of Ron Paul would be groundbreaking for the GOP. No other recent candidate hailing from the party of Lincoln has accused Abraham Lincoln of causing a "senseless" war and ruling with an "iron fist." Or regarded Ronald Reagan's presidency a "dramatic failure." Or proposed the legalization of prostitution and heroin use. Or called America the most "aggressive, extended and expansionist" empire in world history. Or promised to abolish the CIA, depart NATO and withdraw military protection from South Korea. Or blamed terrorism on American militarism, since "they're terrorists because we're occupiers." Or accused the American government of a Sept. 11 "coverup" and called for an investigation headed by Dennis Kucinich. Or described the killing of Osama bin Laden as "absolutely not necessary." – Washington Post /Michael Gerson

Dominant Social Theme: Ron Paul is a horrible US candidate for president and an even more horrible man.

Free-Market Analysis: This article presents reasons for opposing libertarian candidate for US president Dr. Ron Paul that tick many of the dominant social themes of the elite that have been used to frighten middle classes into giving up wealth and power to globalist institutions like the UN, IMF, World Bank, etc.

These fear-based promotions are seemingly the product of an Anglosphere power elite that seeks to run the world – formally as opposed to informally. The power of this intergenerational familial elite comes from the central banks they apparently control and the ability to print trillions of dollars of money-from-nothing.

Ron Paul's libertarian conservative message, grounded in hundreds of years of economic history, culminates in the resonant insight that it is individual people taking Misesian "human action" that forms a successful society.

People taking "human action" (as people will do) do not need formal leaders or standing armies to protect them. They are likely capable of their own defense (singly or in aggregate) and simply need to be left alone in freedom to make their own ways. This, of course, is a direct threat to the larger establishment that has been created and supported by the power elite.

'Friendly fire' eyed in death of hero ATF agent

Authorities are investigating whether friendly fire killed a hero ATF agent trying to stop a drug-addled ex-con from robbing a Long Island pharmacy, sources told The Post yesterday.

Officials said off-duty Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Agent John Capano, 51, a married father of two teens, was trying to foil a stickup at Charlie’s Family Pharmacy in Seaford on Saturday when a retired Nassau County police lieutenant and off-duty NYPD cop in a nearby deli heard there was a robbery in progress and the two armed men ran over.

Within seconds, Capano and career thug James McGoey, 43, lay dead outside the drugstore amid bottles of stolen pills.

Authorities are conducting a manhunt at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State after a park ranger died in a shooting Sunday following a routing traffic stop, authorities said.

Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said late Sunday afternoon Benjamin Colton Barnes, a 24-year-old believed to have survivalist skills, was a "strong person of interest" in the slaying of Margaret Anderson. A parks spokesman said Barnes was an Iraq war veteran. Authorities recovered his vehicle, which had weapons and body armor inside,

Ronald Reagan’s Biggest Mistake According to Reagan Himself

According to Ronald Reagan himself, as told to his trusted long-time friend and U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese, the biggest mistake of his presidency was signing the l986 amnesty for what turned out to be more than half the five million illegal immigrants in the country. Reagan was uncomfortable with the amnesty but was persuaded by some of the leaders of his own party (still living) that it would only effect a small number of illegal immigrants and would assure that Congress would follow through with more vigorous enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. The misnamed Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986 was touted by its supporters as “comprehensive immigration reform” that would grant amnesty only to a few long-settled immigrants and strengthen border security and internal immigration enforcement against employers who were hiring illegal immigrants.

Internal enforcement was critical to Reagan. He knew that the real key to stopping illegal immigration was to cut off the job magnet at the employment place. He was also honest enough to call what he believed would only be a small amnesty by its real name—amnesty. He did not try to deceive the American people into thinking it was not really an amnesty, a deception much in vogue with many politicians today.

There are various accounts of how many amnesties were expected with passage of the 1986 amnesty. Figures range from 300,000 (Gingrich, who voted for it) to about 2.1 million. Some reasonable estimates center around 1.2 million. The actual result was 2.7 million. Close to one third of the amnesties given were based on document fraud.

For the first six months after the amnesty there was a modest fall in illegal immigration, but within 12 months illegal immigration was breaking all previous records, rising to 800,000 per year. Friends and relatives of the newly legalized immigrants began to pour into the United States. They were followed by more illegal job seekers who saw continued opportunities for more amnesties. In fact, the 1986 amnesty resulted in six more amnesties from 1994 to 2000, awarding legal status to another 3.0 million illegal immigrants. By 1997, the number of illegal immigrants in the country was already back up to the 5.0 million in the U.S. before the 1986 amnesty. Amnesty has proved to be a slippery slope. Amnesties beget more amnesties and more illegal immigrants. Can you imagine the consequences of amnesty for the 11 million or more illegals now in the United States?

There were 5.0 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. in 1986 because we had allowed cheap-labor special interests to dominate immigration policy to the point of non-enforcement. We had become lax on border security and had ceased to enforce immigration laws at the workplace. Lack of enforcement at the workplace was by far the more important of the two chief causes of illegal immigration, as it is today.

Reagan thought he was trading a small amnesty for all-important workplace enforcement and increased border security. But once the amnesty was done and multiplying far beyond expectations, the special interests went to work at killing enforcement at the employment place. The chief culprits were the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and large agriculture corporations that lobbied Congress into backing off enforcement.

According to a 1997 report by the Center for Immigration Studies, the cost of amnesty for 2.7 million illegal immigrants had accumulated to $156.7 billion (in 1986 dollars!) by 1997. The net cost after $78 billion in tax collections was $78.7 billion dollars. This amounts to a subsidy per amnestied illegal of $29,148 in 1986 dollars, which is an important indirect subsidy for the employers of illegal workers. But U.S. workers paid the highest price. The 1986 amnesty displaced 1,872,000 American workers over the next decade. This and downward pressure on American wages are not adequately accounted for in the report. In fact, downward pressure on U.S. worker income may be the largest cost to the American economy of amnesty and excess immigration levels.

Only 36 percent of the 1986 amnesty recipients spoke English well, and only 28 percent of those over age 24 had graduated from high school.

Recently the liberal media has been pushing its pro-amnesty agenda by painting a false picture of Reagan on immigration and amnesty. Reagan saw that illegal immigration was becoming a big problem and wanted to stop it. He was persuaded to allow a relatively small amnesty as a bargaining chip to strengthen border security, and more importantly, workplace enforcement. Reagan wanted to fine employers $3,000 to $10,000 for each illegal immigrant deliberately hired. Congress betrayed him on the enforcement measures and probably the extent and eventual costs of the amnesty. Blindness to likely consequences and costs of social legislation seems to be an inherent characteristic of liberal politicians of both major parties. One of the great shortcomings of progressives is their inability to progress to step 2 or 3 in thinking through the logical consequences of legislation. They have an unshakeable faith in the wisdom of the latest poll of uninformed voters. Reagan should have known better than to trust the happy-clappy liberals and servants of the big dollar lobbyists. He made a big mistake, but he admitted it.

Ronald Reagan was not comfortable with amnesty. He was pro-enforcement, and he admitted to Edwin Meese that the biggest mistake of his presidency was to sign the 1986 amnesty. We should learn from the wisdom Reagan gained by bitter experience. Any amnesty is a slippery slope to national economic and social disaster.

Unmarked, senator's rock grave rests in peace

Via Cousin John

Weak, feverish, hours from death, young state Sen. William A. Jeffreys begged his family not to bury him in the cold, wet clay.

He pleaded from his sickbed for a sturdy grave, a resting place carved inside a 20-foot boulder on his family's Franklin County farm, safe harbor from worms.

Jeffreys got his wish. And in 1846, almost a year past his death at 28, a Scottish sculptor finished chiseling out his rocky crypt.

For more than a century, the legislator's grave drew curious climbers and even vandals who broke the marble grave stone at the boulder's peak. A state historic marker led them there, posted on U.S. 401, bearing an irresistible title:

Unique Tomb.
