Rand Paul Says He Didn’t Think Obama’s Views ‘Could Get Any Gayer’

Via Southern Nationalist Network

Sen. Rand Paul mocked President Obama’s recent support of gay marriage on Friday, saying he didn’t think Obama’s views “could get any gayer.”

“The president recently weighed in on marriage and you know he said his views were evolving on marriage,” the Kentucky Republican said at Iowa’s Faith and Freedom Coalition meeting. ”Call me cynical, but I wasn’t sure his views on marriage could get any gayer.”

The comments, which generated laughs, were made two days after Obama announced that he supported same-sex marriage, which he had previously opposed, while adding he thought the issue should be left up to the states to decide.

Paul was encouraging support for his father Ron Paul’s long-shot presidential campaign when the conversation turned to the news of the week.

“He said the biblical golden rule caused him to be for gay marriage,” Paul said. “I’m like what version of the Bible is he reading?”

Paul went on to say that he’s not preaching hateful dogma against people, but added that he didn’t believe people should give up on their traditions.

“Six thousand years of tradition” combined with “anthropological” evidence shows “there’s stability in the family unit,” he said.

New French Socialist president Francois Hollande, who claims to ‘dislike the rich’, has THREE homes on French Riviera

But, never fear, he's only going to set a top tax rate of 75 per cent.........

France's new Socialist president owns three holiday homes in the glamorous Riviera resort of Cannes, it emerged today.

The 57-year-old who 'dislikes the rich' and wants to revolutionise his country with high taxes and an onslaught against bankers is in fact hugely wealthy himself.

His assets were published today in the Official Journal, the gazette which contains verified information about France's government.

To the undoubted embarrassment to the most left-wing leader in Europe and a man who styles himself as 'Mr Normal', they are valued at almost £1million.

It will also reinforce accusations that Hollande is a 'Gauche Caviar', or 'Left-Wing Caviar' - the Gallic equivalent of a Champagne Socialist.

Among other assets are three current accounts in French banks - two with global giant Societe Generale and one with the Postal Bank - and a life insurance policy.

SHTF Salad Bombs. You're welcome.

The latest project me and the daughter got in to was making "seed bombs." The basic gist behind a seed bomb is to plant flowers in vacant lots by simply tossing a seed ball on them. A seed bomb is pretty simple. Take 5 parts clay, 3 parts potting soil, 1 part flower seeds and 1 part water. Mix it, then roll it into about 1" balls. Let them dry and chuck them on to vacant lots, kick back and watch the fun. Here's some sunflower seed bombs we made.

Then I got to thinking. Seeds are seeds, am I right? What works for a flower seed should work for a vegetable seed. No? But with a clay based seed bomb the seeds start to germinate because of the moisture and it's recommended to use them within a week. So for SHTF purposes I needed a way to store the seeds without starting the germination. I googled alternative methods of making seed balls and found where some people use gelatin based empty pill capsules.

Clay protects the seeds from birds and makes the seeds easier to throw. That's not so much of a problem at a BOL. The pill capsules should be sufficient and beat the heck out of "tilling a garden." Find a good spot, poke a hole with a stick, drop in a Salad Bomb, mash the hole closed with your foot. And you can store probably more than 100 capsules in a watertight 60dr. pill bottle.

WHAT I USED:
~size "00" gelatin based pill capsules.
~heirloom tomato, red onion, and bib lettuce seeds.
~Jobes plant food spikes.

Each pill capsule contains vegetable seeds and 1/3 of a Jobes plant food spike.

I'm going to "plant" some of these and see what happens.

Preparedness for Dark Times

I am a deputy sheriff in Louisiana and patrol primarily on the night shift. A few nights ago my shift was alerted that the main city in our parish was under a complete "black out", meaning a total loss of ALL electricity. The reason for the blackout was unknown but the repercussions were great. The power stayed out for a mere hour and a half, but that was all it took to cause chaos all throughout the city. In this hour and a half multiple shootings occurred, multiple wrecks occurred on the highways and city streets, and multiple stores and businesses were broken into and looted due to security systems malfunctioning. All within that small hour and a half. It really shows how fragile the order in our cities hangs in the balance. People who would probably have been watching television or engaging in other peaceful activities, were gathering in the streets starting fights. All because the lights and tv turned off. Wow. Only a handful of people had nothing to worry about because they were prepared with a few necessities such as: flashlights, food, water, protection (I.e. Rifle, handgun, or shotgun).

I am writing this to remind you of the importance of being prepared for a "lights out" situation like this. This type of thing happens all the time and can happen in your area anytime. These are some minimum guidelines for what you need on hand in a two to three week blackout scenario. It doesn't matter how much food and water you have if you can't see it. It doesn't matter how many guns and and ammo you have if you can't see to shoot them. And it certainly doesn't matter how many great flashlights, lamps, and lanterns you have if you don't have food, water, and defense because looters can walk straight into your home and take anything and everything they please (including your life)!

I will be so bold as to say if the blackout had continued throughout the night it would have escalated into an all-out riot. You might say "no way! Not in America! This isn't Europe!". Yes, in America, small town America. People have become so dependent on electricity and have been brainwashed into a "welfare mentality" meaning everything is somehow " owed" to them to the point that when something breaks their cycle, I.e. a "blackout" they will do anything necessary to "get (by force)" what they want. More commonly known as "looting". You will start to see this type of thing happening more and more in the near future because history always repeats itself. Look what happened in New Orleans, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. A large storm causes long term power loss and flooding. And because no one stocks more than a day or two worth of food what do they do? They take what they want; by killing, looting, and plundering. Civil neighborhoods turned into all out war zones! Very few people were prepared for what occurred. It was several days until order was semi restored and weeks until it was fully restored. This is very close to home, and it could happen to you at any moment! Don't be a pacifist. Understand me when I tell you this is the real deal.

5,000 Pages En Route To George Zimmerman’s attorney

George Zimmerman’s attorney said Friday that he is preparing to receive 5,000 pages of critical evidence in the Trayvon Martin shooting investigation. Even before that happens sometime by Monday, Mark O’Mara said he will file a motion to delay for at least a week that information being made public.

The evidence is said to include Martin’s autopsy report and statements from key witnesses. O’Mara said he wants time to make sure the witnesses are protected, and he wants to challenge material he said he believes shouldn’t be made public.

”I’m going to ask the judge to let us hold it until we have a chance to view all of it,” O’Mara said.

O’Mara said prosecutors will share the evidence Monday from which they’re building a second-degree murder case against Zimmerman. He will file a motion asking for at least a week to see if some of the material should be thrown out.

“I want to make sure we minimize anger that has been growing in this case, and it may be in the discovery, and I want to see if it’s appropriate to let it out,” O’Mara said.

O’Mara also wants to challenge Florida’s Open Records Laws by holding back from the public certain witness names and information for safety reasons.

Vulnerable Democratic senators balk at Obama's gay marriage endorsement

Via A Trainwreck in Maxwell

Senate Democrats facing difficult reelections are breaking with President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage, a sign the issue is politically dangerous in battleground states.

Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.), the two most vulnerable Democratic senators, have declined to endorse Obama’s call for the legalization of gay marriage.

Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Bob Casey (Pa.) and Bill Nelson (Fla.), Democrats who have easier races but in states that could become more competitive by November, have also backed away from Obama’s stance.

They all represent states with constitutional amendments or laws banning same-sex marriage.

Radioactive man? Milford resident pulled over by state police

Wonder what else they have that we don't know about?

Via III Percent Patriots

Mike Apatow was minding his own business Wednesday, driving to an appointment for work in Washington Depot when a state police car appeared suddenly and signaled for the Milford resident to pull over.

Apatow, 42, was entering Interstate 84 in Newtown when the cruiser appeared, and he had no idea what he'd done to merit police attention. It turns out he didn't do anything.

But earlier that day, Apatow, who'd experienced a recent spike in his blood pressure, had a nuclear stress test at Cardiology Associates of Fairfield County in Trumbull. In the test, a small amount of a radioactive material is injected into the veins and used to help track blood flow to the heart.

Though the amount of radioactive material used in the test is relatively low -- equal to a few X-rays or a diagnostic CT scan -- it was enough to set off a radioactivity detector in the state police car. The detectors are used to help identify potential terror threats.

"I asked the officer `What seems to be the problem?' " Apatow said. "He said `You've been flagged as a radioactive car.' "

Progressive NC Governor Beverly Perdue Attacks Her Own State……

Fortunately you are gone this year and I suggest you go to Chicago where the people think as you.

Via The Last Refuge

Passage of a constitutional amendment defining marriage as solely between a man and a woman makes North Carolina "look like Mississippi," Gov. Beverly Perdue said Friday.

Perdue was in Greenville as part of her tour to tout her proposed state budget for 2012-2013. The governor was responding to a question on the amendment from a reporter from WITN-TV in Washington.

"I think it's wrong for North Carolina, clearly and simply," she said. "People around the country are watching us and they're really confused, to have been such a progressive, forward-thinking, economically driven state that invested in education and that stood up for the civil rights of people, including the civil rights marches back in the '50s and '60s and '70s.

"Folks are saying, 'What in the world is going on in North Carolina?' We look like Mississippi."

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant took offense at Perdue's comment.

"I am certainly disappointed by Gov. Perdue's statement regarding North Carolina's 'looking like Mississippi,'" Bryant said in a statement. "Apparently, North Carolina's voters are much more in line with Mississippi's traditional values on marriage than those of Gov. Perdue."

The chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party also issued a statement, saying his state is proud to stand with those who voted for the amendment in North Carolina and people in other states who support traditional marriage.

"Gov. Perdue is obviously out of touch with the voters of her own state and is trying to change the subject by attacking Mississippi," Mississippi GOP chairman Joe Nosef said.

On Tuesday, North Carolina became the 30th state to pass a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. The amendment passed with nearly 61 percent of voters supporting it.

DC Tells Tombstone, AZ They Can Repair Water System, As Long As They Use Horses and Hand Tools

Via Don

This is an incredible story showing how far the federal government is from rational thought.

Here’s what happened in Tombstone:

Between May and July 2011, the Monument Fire engulfed a large part of the eastern portion of the Huachuca Mountains. Record-breaking monsoon rains followed. With no vegetation to absorb the runoff, huge mudslides forced boulders to tumble down the mountain sides, crushing Tombstone’s mountain spring waterlines, destroying reservoirs and shutting off Tombstone’s main source of water. In some areas, Tombstone’s pipeline is under 12 feet of mud, rocks and other debris; while in other places, it is hanging in mid-air due to the ground being washed out from under it.

So the city got to work repairing the system so the people of Tombstone could have water. Believe it or not, water is kind of a big thing in the desert.

But when the federal government found out what they were doing, they stopped them and said they could only make the repairs if they used horses and hand tools.

No, really:

Citing the Wilderness Act, the Forest Service is refusing to allow the city to repair its waterlines to mountain springs it has owned for nearly seventy years – and which date back to the 1880s. This refusal is threatening residents, private property and public safety with the risk of a total loss of fire protection and safe drinking water.

…federal bureaucrats are refusing to allow Tombstone to unearth its springs and restore its waterlines unless they jump through a lengthy permitting process that will require the city to use horses and hand tools to remove boulders the size of Volkswagens.

Because the spotted owl is more important to the federal government than a steady supply of water during an emergency.

Police search for clues in shooting death of Patriot radio host April Kauffman

New Jersey authorities are searching for the killer or killers in the shooting death of a local radio talk show host known for her activism on veterans' issues.

April Kauffman, 47, was found dead inside the bedroom of her New Jersey home Thursday from "multiple gunshot wounds," according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Kauffman, who hosted a weekly talk radio program on WOND, was found around 11:30 a.m. Thursday by a worker who called 911. Kauffman reportedly lived with her husband, a physician, near the Jersey shore in Linwood, about 12 miles from Atlantic City.

In a statement released to FoxNews.com, Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., said he was "incredibly shocked and saddened" to learn the news about Kauffman, known throughout the region as a fierce advocate for veterans.

House GOP issues second subpoena over planned coal-mining rules

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) subpoenaed the Interior Department for a second time Friday over planned regulations aimed at curbing environmental damage from Appalachian coal mining.

The subpoena calls on the Interior Department to provide documents related to the planned rules by May 24 — it’s the second subpoena issued by the committee over the regulations in the last month.

House Republicans have taken aim at Interior’s plans to rework rules issued at the end of the George W. Bush administration that regulate the dumping of debris from mountaintop-removal coal mining into nearby waterways.

Committee Republicans, who authorized Hastings to issue the subpoena in a March party-line vote, have been investigating the planned regulations for more than a year.

Hastings said Friday that the Interior Department didn’t adequately comply with the first subpoena, issued on April 5.

White House Lied, Jobs Died

While the White House and its media water-carriers try to distract the American public with gay-marriage talk and half-century-old tales of Mitt Romney's prep school pranks, the inconvenient truth remains: President Obama is responsible for perpetrating jaw-dropping, job-killing scientific fraud. And his minions are still trying to cover it up.

New internal e-mails disclosed by the House Natural Resources Committee this week show that a supposedly exculpatory report on the administration's doctored drilling moratorium analysis -- issued by the Department of Interior's Inspector General's office -- was itself incomplete, misleading and unsubstantiated. Even more damning, the documents reveal that the White House actively blocked investigators and refuses to comply with subpoenas.

Now, as one senior IG agent warned his bosses, "the chickens may be coming home to roost."

Re: Your May 8, 2012 letter to the Texas Historical Commission

Dear Senators & Representatives:

The press has provided me a copy of your scandalously ignorant and bigoted letter of May 8, 2012, wherein you oppose the application for a historical marker applied for by the Texas Division Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The marker was (and hopefully is) to tell the significant historical story of how ALL the major state office buildings came into being. A man larger than the tawdry political hacks we see in abundance today, a pioneer dedicated to the rights of ALL Texans, Governor Bill Daniel stumped the state in the early 1950’s advocating for a constitutional amendment to move the leftover funds from the Confederate Pension Fund and convert it into a State Building Fund. The amendment provided that the first building built, the Texas Supreme Court Building, was to be dedicated to Texans who served the Confederacy. The word was simply “Texans,” not “white Texans,” in order to honor all who served in whatever capacity. This is borne out in the archival records underpinning the historical research used in the application.

The measure was passed overwhelmingly and the buildings were built. The State has had the benefit of Gov. Bill’s vision for over 50 years. Now Texas Solons – how do you tell that story without mentioning the “C” word?
Whether y’all like it or not, the Texas Supreme Court Building is still constitutionally dedicated to Texans who served the Confederacy, and one may argue the point, but I contend it is the largest Confederate Memorial in the world.

Governor Bill, who was my friend, always told me that he wanted an historical marker to tell the story of where ALL the major state office buildings came from, and in so telling it might mute any protests as to the dedication of the Supreme Court Building. Governor Bill died a few years ago, so never was able to finish his vision of an historical marker for the Supreme Court Building.

So this application was for a marker to tell the people of Texas an important story – Tell me oh noble, wise and fair legislators, how is this “glorifying the Confederacy?” How is this “rewriting history?’ How is this “maintaining the institution of African slavery?” Did your staffs’ and aides’ bother to read the application before ghost-writing your knee-jerk letter to the Texas Historical Commission?

Your Romper Room oversimplification of the causes of the war aside, the People of Texas, fighting to defend themselves from an illegal federal invasion was all the justification needed. The causes of the war have nothing to do with the SCV’s application, but I didn’t think your collective display of such breath-taking arrogance combined with historical ignorance and misinterpretation should go unchallenged.

I have been an NAACP Chapter President and I have carried a Confederate Flag 1600 miles walking to Texas from North Carolina (10th anniversary coming up in October) and I have advocated on behalf of the Confederate community and educated people of the substantial contributions of Black Southerners (slave and free) to the Confederacy. In a civil rights career spanning over 40 years, one thing I have learned is that prejudice and bigotry affects every race, class, gender and age. I note that not all the Black legislative caucus signed your smear letter, so maybe there is hope for reason to prevail.

If truth and fairness mean anything to you, your letter should be withdrawn and so a free, OPEN and fair debate on this application begin. Kirk D. Lyons and I throw down the gauntlet of open debate.

Most Sincerely,

signed

H. K. Edgerton

PS Senator Ellis owes the honorable Attorney Kirk D. Lyons an apology for the shameful way he tried to defame and insult him and his family (his wife and my nieces and nephews) to the press. As his friend and brother I can say, if Kirk D. is a “white supremacist” (trademarked by SPLC Inc.), then so is every attorney who lives up to his oath to defend the unpopular, the poor and the despised.

In a spirit of good-will, I am sending Senator Ellis a copy of my brother’s documentary book of my March Across Dixie. Maybe seeing what real black people think about the Christian Cross of St. Andrew may change his mind.

Hizballah rushes arms to Syria, Iran sets up security cameras in Damascus

As I mentioned at my source:
Gee, such a simple solution, we can just go to war with Russia. Should work out swell.......

Via NC Renegade

he shocking impact of the twin explosions which killed 55 people and injured almost 400 in Damascus Thursday, May 10, galvanized Bashar Assad’s allies, starting with Iran, into frenetic activity. Within hours, Tehran had ordered its Lebanese proxy Hizballah to open up its arms stores and run quantities of weapons and military equipment across the border to the Syrian army – a striking reversal of the routine direction of arms supplies. Thursday night, Washington quietly asked Lebanese President Michel Suleiman to put a stop to the traffic.

While the Syrian opposition and Assad regime blamed each other – or al Qaeda - for the worst attack Damascus has seen in the 14-month uprising, it was obvious to both that it must have been the work of a major and very professional undercover agency.

In Tehran, Moscow and Beirut, the scale of the bombing attacks which leveled a key Syrian security headquarters was judged a sharp escalation in the offensive for President Assad’s overthrow - more intense even than the NATO campaign which last year removed the Libyan ruler Muammar Qaddafi.

debkafile’s sources in Moscow say the event has consequently cast a dark shadow over relations between the Obama administration and Vladimir Putin at the outset of his third term as Russian president.

This week, Putin pointedly declined to attend the G-8 summit of world leaders meeting next week at the US presidential retreat of Camp David. He decided to send Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev over in his place.

The Russian president has three large bones to pick with Washington: a) He suspects American hands of stirring up opposition demonstrations against him during his election campaign; b) He is flat against the US missile shield going up in Europe and the Middle East to intercept Iran’s ballistic missiles; and c) He is solidly behind the Assad regime which he accuses the US of seeking to overthrow.

The unemployment rate is a measuring stick with many problems, one of which is that it tends to shift our focus from a human tragedy to the measuring stick itself, as if we were discussing the level of water in a reservoir.

It is important to remember that we’re talking about people: almost 23 million Americans couldn’t find full-time work in April.

Americans Who Cannot Find Full-Time Work (in Millions)

The widely quoted “unemployment rate” of 8.1 percent reflects only the red portion of this chart, the 12.5 million people who did not work in April, and actively searched for new work. A broader “unemployment rate,” which carries the catchy name U6, includes all the people in this chart, and stands at 14.5 percent.
