HOW TO CONTINUE AMERICAN TYRANNY

USA Economics is not controlled or meaningfully influenced by our duly elected government representatives, but by global corporations and global banking interest now appropriately called "banksters." Both Republicans and Democrats are chosen and/or controlled by these international/global puppeteers. This is called "fascism." By the end of World War I the USA had become a massive fascist industrial power that inherently creates concepts of national exceptionalism that are not based on spiritual righteousness but on material "progress" and "success."

The amazing and most obvious concept of American politics is that Southerner's and our heritage organizations CONTINUE doing the same things (meaning to be good "Americans" ready to compromise and constantly be nice pusillanimous Southern gentlemen and ladies) year after year while expecting different results, meaning to be responsible and vote for the lesser of two evils. It is like our learning curve ends at a brick wall, meaning that we are not learning anything at all. Our lapel pins should read "I Support the Statis Quo: Ain't I Proud!." Southerner's who are thoroughly reconstructed will, of course, take exception to this assertion in their efforts to be good American's and demonstrate their commitment to American Exceptionalism by placing their right hand over their hearts and pledging their highest allegiance to this secular power.

To vote for either of these shill schemes is to support a political ponzi system of tyranny that is totally antithetical to western Christian beliefs and practices that are more radical and dictatorial than those of Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro or Stalin. Americans who vote for and support these political parties (selfish "schemers" should not be called "parties", but rather something like political gangster's) are heavily indoctrinated and the weaker-minded are brain-washed into believing that their vote actually counts and that voting means they are in some distorted manner a free people.

People in totalitarian states vote, but voting does not mean they have a real voice in government, and it DOES NOT MEAN that they have government by consent of the governed. The idea that you cannot complain about government "unless you vote" is absurd in countries ruling themselves through "constitutions" that required ratification by the regions or component States. Those who assert that you cannot complain unless you vote are democratic Marxists who know nothing of the American system of constitutional goverance.

This is silly, subservient (like as in the Stockholm Syndrome) and dangerous. They are no more than the same proud nationalistic community-minded people that Hitler and Stalin so easily controlled. Remember that these two European men appealed to the apostate Christians of a dying western Christian civilization. The death of the European Empires in World Wars I and II was the tragedy that set the stage for the end of Christian rule and "civilization" as it had existed since the time of Christ.

Political/government involvement in social issues is about elections and voter manipulation at a sub-level of government that focuses on an entirely bogus goal of "social justice." This is meant to rally slow thinking people to "Get Out the Vote." Social justice as termed and framed by the Marxists of modernity is completely antithetical to freedom, liberty and independence. Social justice is always a political euphemism for the lack of true justice and moral law.

The politicians of the Republican Party are not interested in morals and Christian family life, but in a reasonable scheme to gain votes and political control to support the money-barons who sponsor them to get elected. Their financial worth also always increases while they are doing their "public service." In his day, Abraham Lincoln was a master at this kind of corruption. He would drool at the level of their political corruption.

The politicians of the Democrat Party promote anti-Christian social values totally devoid of classical God-defined absolute Christian morals in order to gain voters and political control to support the money barons who sponsor them to get elected. Their financial worth also always increases while they are doing their "public service." In his day, Abraham Lincoln was a master at this kind of corruption. He would drool at the level of the political corruption in the USA today.

Those who will vote in this 2012 election for either of the two main political parties will sanctify the reputations of the political sluggards and sleaze who are elected to rape us of our labour and just earnings and deny the physical inheritance we have worked for to benefit the generations of our families who will come after us.

The death grip of Republican fascists could be broken by their losing this election and a real political alternative could be born and gain support. One of the Big-Two political parties will have to die since they are both versions of the same tyranny. The death grip of modern egalitarians (Marxist to those who do not know history) has been established by not having a political opposition who was truly ready to call their form of government by its rightful statist name, "communism."

So, reconstructed Southerner's will proudly wear their "I VOTED" or their "NOBAMA" lapel stickers and actually think they have done something to restrain the tyranny that rules over them and will continue to rule over our coming generations. They will proudly proclaim, "I helped to put Obama out of office." This is, of course, very consoling to those of us who always play the game of American statists.

American agents wounded in Mexico linked to CIA drug planes

Via safetalker

In a violent incident whose explanation daily grows more murky the two "U.S. embassy officials" wounded by Mexican Federal Police officers in an attack outside Cuernavaca were revealed to be CIA agents by major Mexican news organizations earlier this week.

What has remained undisclosed —until now —is ths: one of the agents is linked to the drug trafficking operation out of St Petersburg Florida in which two CIA-connected airplanes were seized—in separate incidents in 2006 and 2007—on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula carrying a total of ten tons of cocaine.

The wounded agents connection to earlier CIA operations was first discovered by Mexico City newspaper La Jornada, which noted that one of the agents, after being taken to a hospital for treatment of his wounds, listed his home address as a Post Office Box in Dunn Loring, Virginia.

In a major embarrassment for the CIA, that same address, incredibly, had earlier been used in a CIA operation that received maximum worldwide public exposure: the extraordinary rendition of Al Qaeda prisoners to secret prisons around the world, after the attacks of September 11, 2001, on a fleet of secretly-owned CIA airplanes.

"Sloppy tradecraft" a continuing problem

In the Mexican press, where the words “CIA” and “drug smuggling” occur together almost as often as “cookies” and “milk,' the CIA’s failure to invest in a new P.O. Box as part of the two wounded agents 'cover' was viewed with some surprise.

In fact, however, the gaffe, while extraordinary, was hardly unique.

Justice Department launches ad campaign

Via WRSA

For the first time in the history of the agency, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an ad campaign featuring a sitting attorney general speaking to Americans about the need to protect endangered children.

This reporter saw the ad for the first time last evening.

The series of ads comes at a curious time in American politics. The U.S. presidential election is less than three months away. The DOJ is under intense fire due to the Fast and Furious scandal. The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the DOJ issued his first draft report on Fast and Furious this week, and leaks from DOJ indicate that already the report has created a flurry of activity as officials scurry about attempting damage control.

DOJ officials have one month to pour over the OIG report, providing their feedback, prior to its release to Congress, the media, and the public.

Yet as if to get a head start and gain the upper hand in the court of public opinion, Holder launches a massive ad campaign touting the agency's work and focusing on the need to "protect the children."

No one would argue that vulnerable children do not need to be protected. But why is this suddenly the focus of an ad campaign during an election year? Is there some reason that now is the time to step up such efforts? Are there statistics showing that suddenly, out of the blue, multimillions more children are now in harm's way within, say, the last six months?

In all likelihood, children are in no more danger now than they have been at any other time during the Obama presidency.

The thing that has changed, however, is the president's likelihood of being reelected.

GOP Rejects Un Agenda 21 As Threat To US Sovereignty

unagenda 21

The GOP platform that was approved at the Republican National Convention in Tampa rejected the United Nations “sustainability” scheme known as Agenda 21. The platform committee said the UN program was “erosive of American sovereignty” and that they “oppose any form of U.N. Global Tax.”

The platform also went on to declare,

We oppose any diplomatic efforts that could result in giving the United Nations unprecedented control over the Internet. International regulatory control over the open and free Internet would have disastrous consequences for the United States and the world.

In a section of the platform titled Sovereign American Leadership in International Organizations the GOP recapped the history of American involvement in World War II and the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The platform reads,

“Since the end of World War II, the United States, through the founding of the United Nations and NATO, has participated in a wide range of international organizations which can, but sometimes do not, serve the cause of peace and prosperity. While acting through them, our country must always reserve the right to go its own way. There can be no substitute for principled American leadership.”

The platform says that the United Nations is in “dire need of reform, starting with full transparency in the financial operations of its overpaid bureaucrats.” It also claims, “The United Nations Population Fund has a shameful record of collaboration with China’s program of compulsory abortion. We affirm the Republican Party’s long-held position known as the Mexico City Policy, first announced by President Reagan in 1984, which prohibits the granting of federal monies to non-governmental organization that provide or promote abortion.”

While polls are showing that Mitt Romney got a six point bump from this week’s Republican National Convention, popular pollsters Rasmussen and Gallup are saying that the race is still basically neck and neck.

Today Rasmussen reports,

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 44% of the vote. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

As expected, Romney is enjoying a modest bounce from the past week’s Republican National Convention. He trailed the president by two when the convention began and is up by three today. "Apologize for slavery, white boy!"

Right after you kiss my rosy, white @$$!

Actually, not even then!

(1) I've never owned a single slave!
(2) You were never a slave!

So tell my why I need to apologize for *ANYTHING* - **ESPECIALLY** to you!

Spare me the "white privilege" nonsense - my ancestors (Appalachian coal-miners all) were no better than slaves themselves. I never had the benefits of .gov largesse despite coming from a dirt-poor family.

Further, I've NEVER discriminated in any way against anyone based on their skin-color -- but I've been the victim of everything from blatant discrimination to robbery and severe, violent assault because of mine!

Last, and MOST OF ALL, *IF* you're the descendant of slaves (and a surprising number of American blacks are *NOT*) then **YOU** MORE THAN ANY OTHER LIVING HUMAN HAVE BENEFITTED FROM YOUR ANCESTORS SLAVERY!!

I'm going to type this next part slow, because your ignorance makes it unlikely that you can read too fast...

I'm also going to use small words so that hopefully you'll be able to keep up...

Ready?

Ok...

Have you seen how people live in Sub-Saharan Africa where your slave-ancestors were captured by other Sub-Saharan Africans and sold to Arab slave-traders before finally coming here?

How does that compare to even the most SUPPOSEDLY "poverty-stricken" life in 21st Century America?

Does everyone in "The Motherland" live in Air-conditioned comfort, with cable TV attached to a flat/big-screen TV? Do they all have X-boxes and smart-phones?

Are they all equipped with myriad other devices with which to gorge their minds on a non-stop mental diet of "gangsta-rap"?

Is OBESITY the biggest health-problem for them?

In case you STILL haven't figured it out, I'll leave you with the words of my old friend Cecil - a self-described "midnight-ni&&a" who had not only traced his ancestry back to the very slave-ship on which they arrived, but also wouldn't hesitate to tell you like it is:

"I *KNOW* my ancestors were slaves! I've seen the ship's manifest from their transport, and seen the auction records from when they were sold!

"I've also seen the nasty-ass place where they came from, and that's why I tell you 'WHOEVER was responsible for bringing them here in chains did *ME* a favor!'

"See, if they hadn't been brought HERE, then *I* would have been born *THERE*! -- and I'd be running around barefoot, livin' up in a mud-hut, and starving to death like the rest of them jungle-bunny mother f***ers!..."

This was just the beginning of an *EPIC* rant that I was blessed to witness several times, but the bottom line FACT is that *NOBODY* in America is really "poor" - in fact even our most disgusting "housing project" is better than the circumstances KINGS lived in not all that long ago!

Now, go count your blessings, and have a nice cup of STFU!!

Colonel George Burgwyn Anderson

Born near Hillsboro on 12 April 1831, the oldest son of William E. Anderson, Esq., and wife, Eliza Burgwyn. George attained high honors and distinction at the University of North Carolina and was appointed to West Point at age seventeen, graduating ninth in a class of forty-one in 1852. In his memorial address of May 11, 1885, Hon. Alfred Moore Waddell of Wilmington said of George Anderson:

“I am here to-day, in compliance with your invitation, to attempt to pay a tribute to the memory of as noble a gentleman, as knightly a soldier, as true a man, and as devoted a son of North Carolina as any who lived. Truth and manliness were his distinguishing characteristics, and to them in whomsoever found he was ever ready to do reverence.

When George Anderson became an officer….he buckled on that sword….[and] with fervent love and that inexorable sense of honor and duty which was the all-controlling motive of his life, he turned to North Carolina and reverently laid it at her feet. It was an offer [by Governor John W. Ellis] gladly accepted, and he was immediately commissioned Colonel of the Fourth Regiment.

The battle of Seven Pines was a bloody baptism for Colonel Anderson’s regiment; indeed, it was almost unparalleled in its terrible destructiveness to that command, for of the twenty-seven officers fit for duty all except one were either killed or wounded, and of the five-hundred and twenty men in the ranks, eighty-six were killed and three hundred and seventy-six were wounded, leaving only fifty-eight out of the five-hundred and twenty unhurt – a record which is the best evidence of the perfect discipline and splendid courage exhibited by that glorious regiment in its first hard fight with the enemy.

During this engagement Colonel Anderson seized the flag of the Twenty-seventh Georgia and dashed forward holding it aloft. Before their resistless sweep the stubborn foe reeled and fled, and the colors which Anderson bore were planted on their breastworks. Such men were worthy of being commanded by the bravest of the brave, and the cordial thanks and commendation of a division commander, who was not given to laudation of any one, caused the immediate recognition of Colonel Anderson’s merits by the President, who, being on the field, at once promoted him, and his well-won commission of Brigadier-General was forwarded and received by him on the 9th day of June, 1862.

The brigade assigned to him were all North Carolinians, being composed of the Second, Fourth, Fourteenth and Thirtieth Regiments – as fine a body of troops as ever trod the perilous edge of battle, and one with afterwards achieved as brilliant a reputation as the most brilliant in the Army of Northern Virginia. Then came the Seven Days’ struggle around Richmond, in each of which the brigade took an active part and the young brigadier won new laurels as a most gallant and efficient officer.”

At the battle of Sharpsburg and during his brigade’s assault on the enemy’s center Anderson received a wound in the foot which would prove fatal. He was taken to Virginia -- with his brother and aide de camp, Captain Walker Anderson, who was also wounded at Sharpsburg and killed at the Wilderness -- to Raleigh, arriving in the latter part of September.

“His wound was a most painful one, and he suffered great agony for two weeks….Finally amputation was decided upon, but it was too late. He sunk under the operation, and on the morning of October 16, 1862, in the thirty-second year of his age, his brave soul bid farewell to earth. A very large assemblage of the citizens of Raleigh gathered to give expression to their grief and to testify their respect for his memory; his mortal remains were born to your beautiful cemetery and tenderly and reverently laid beneath the sod where his monument now stands.

[He] died, while the banner of the Confederacy still floated triumphant in every breeze. He never saw that banner lowered to the foe, and his proud spirit was spared the humiliation to which his surviving comrades were afterwards subjected. The government for which he fought and died was long since numbered with the dead empires, and the one against which he bore arms has, with its vast powers constantly centralizing in the hands of an all-absorbing national legislature, become the richest and most powerful on the earth.

If true manliness and an exalted sense of duty; if the strictest integrity, and the most scrupulous regard of the rights of others; if a chivalric sentiment towards woman, and a delicate sense of personal honor; if a commanding presence and cheerful spirit; if dauntless courage and gentle manners; if a brilliant intellect and extensive knowledge; and finally, if patriotic service, ending in painful wounds, heroic suffering and death – if all these combined constitute a theme worthy of commemoration by orator or poet, then the duty assigned me to-day might well have been entrusted to the most gifted of men, and the people of North Carolina would have a juster estimate of the life and services of George Burgwyn Anderson.”

U.S. Ends Criminal Probe of Controversial Arizona Sheriff

The federal government has closed a criminal probe of alleged financial misconduct by Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff," saying no charges would be filed, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

A separate federal investigation relating to allegations of civil rights abuses by Arpaio's office is continuing.

The announcement on Friday marked the end of an investigation that began in November 2010 at the behest of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to examine alleged financial improprieties by the county sheriff and his deputies.

A federal criminal inquiry into several of those matters was concluded last summer with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona declining to initiate criminal charges.

Maricopa County authorities were informed on Friday that federal prosecutors likewise had declined to bring charges in connection with allegations that the sheriff's office had misused county credit cards or misspent money from jail facilities excise taxes.

In addition, the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to prosecute two former officials of the county attorney's office who were accused of wrongfully prosecuting a local judge.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann Birmingham Scheel said in a statement that her office "is closing its investigation into allegations of criminal conduct by current and former members of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office."

Feds anything but transparent on 'nude scanners'

Via Cousin John

tsa-search

More than three years after installation of the infamous nude-image body scanners at U.S. airports, the federal government still has not instituted the required period of public comment, but Obama administration attorneys contend there’s been no unreasonable delay.

The argument comes from U.S. Justice Department attorneys Mark Stern and John Koppel in a brief opposing a request to start the rule-making process immediately.

Privacy and health advocates have raised numerous concerns about the full-body scanners, which the Transportation Safety Administration began to widely implement in 2010.

In a case brought by the Electronic Privacy Information Center and dozens of other groups, the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington ruled that while the screening would be allowed to go ahead, the Department of Homeland Security “failed to conduct notice-and-comment rulemaking” as required.

At the time, the court said, “Few if any regulatory procedures impose directly and significantly on so many members of the public.” The court ordered the government to “act promptly” on the routine process.

According to EPIC, a year has passed since that order for “prompt” action – and some two and a half years since the machines were first installed in the U.S. The group went to court asking for a mandate for immediate action.

China “Owns” the U.S.: Fact or Fiction?

There is a common misconception that China “owns” the U.S by holding the majority of U.S. federal debt. Contrary to this belief, as a region, Asia owns only 20 percent of U.S. federal debt, with China holding less than 10 percent ($1.3 trillion) and Japan owning approximately 6 percent ($882 billion).

American citizens and now, unfortunately, the Federal Reserve are the primary holders of U.S. federal debt. The U.S. urgently needs to get its fiscal house in order. It has too much debt, period. The relatively minor share of it owned by China is not the problem.

Gore's 'popular vote' scheme to ensure Democrat rule?

Al Gore’s claim that an end to the Electoral College will ensure all voters get equal representation in a popular vote is contradicted by a recently released book that documents how the “popular vote” campaign could see only 14 states – those with the largest populations, most of which are majority-Democrat – decide the presidency for voters in all 50 states.

Gore took to his Current TV to push for the abolishment of the Electoral College and its replacement with the so-called popular vote. He claimed that many voters who live outside the dozen or so battleground states are being cheated by the current system that allocates delegates from the state level, reported The Hill.

Stated Gore: “I’ve seen how these states are written off and ignored, and people are effectively disenfranchised in the presidential race. And I really do now think it is time to change that.”

While some have proposed legislation and a constitutional amendment, Gore alluded to a “very interesting” movement to bypass the Electoral College.

“It is always tough to amend the Constitution and risky to do so, but there is a very interesting movement under way that takes it state by state that may really have a chance of succeeding,” he said.

That “interesting movement” is dissected in the recently released New York Times bestselling book, “Fool Me Twice: Obama’s Shocking Plans for Four More Years Exposed,” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott.

The book, which has climbed to No. 8 on the New York Times list , contains a bonus chapter on the subject of election fraud and documents about fair representation in future presidential elections.

Campaign for Obama, get college credit

A public university in Colorado may have violated state law by offering students course credit if they volunteered with President Obama’s re-election campaign. A blog post on the Adams State University website billed the opportunity as a “12 week long organizing internship for the Obama Campaign.”

Both the blog post and the course are now gone. The course was canceled due to lack of interest, according to the university. The blog post was taken down earlier this week after a conservative student blog, Campus Reform, reported on it.

The course may have been in violation of the Colorado Fair Campaign Practices Act, which prohibits the use of public resources toward “campaigns involving the nomination, retention, or election of any person to any public office.” Oliver Darcy, the editor at Campus Reform who first reported the story, said the course struck him as a likely violation of state law.

“They are definitely using a few professors at least to help these students with the campaign process, so I don’t understand how it doesn’t use public resources for campaign purposes,” he said in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Lee, Last of the Cavaliers

In a postwar letter to British Lord Acton, Robert E. Lee noted that the South would have desired “any honorable compromise to the fratricidal war which has taken place,” but that now the South had no choice but to submit to the results of the war. Being an optimist despite the desolation around him, he concluded the letter with “I trust that the Constitution may undergo no change, but that it may be handed down to succeeding generations in the form we have received it from our forefathers.”

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
www.ncwbts150.com
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Lee, Last of the Cavaliers:

“People who are ignorant of history sometimes ask: “Was not Lee ungrateful to the United States that had educated him at West Point?” The truth is, there might never have been any West Point but for Virginia, for Washington planned it, and Jefferson carried out his idea of a great military academy; while the Lees, as the colonial leaders in Virginia, had served the country as burgesses, governors and military leaders, and signers of the Declaration, so that when Robert E. Lee was appointed a cadet at West Point through the influence of Gen. Andrew Jackson, it was in due recognition of what American owed the Lees, liquidating a debt of patriotism.

At the Academy, Lee’s high sense of duty made his course so honorable that he graduated without ever receiving a single demerit; and later, in the war with Mexico, fully repaid by his service all his obligations to his Alma Mater. He also served as Superintendent of West Point, where the dignity of his life added prestige to the institution and forever blessed the memory of those who, as pupils and professors, were associated with him. West Point today cherishes his name.

In 1902, when West Point celebrated the centenary of its usefulness, there was full recognition given to the Confederate roster, which numbered nearly one hundred and fifty distinguished generals, among whom were many Virginians – such as Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, Jeb Stuart, Custis Lee, Fitzhugh Lee, Joseph R. Anderson, Joseph E. Johnston, Jubal A. Early, George E. Pickett, Richard S. Ewell, Ambrose Powell Hill – each of whom received special eulogy.

In the toast on Alumni Day to the “Confederate Veteran,” the orator said: “How shall I speak to you of the great Lee, whom it was an education to know? Never elated and never depressed, but always calm in reliance upon his troops and upon himself, whose soldiers relied upon him and loved him unto death!...”

When the twilight began to gather for the great silence, General Lee met his end as he had lived, Christ’s faithful soldier and servant to life’s end. His last act was to lift his hand in benediction, as he sought to ask a blessing for the evening meal; then, stricken, he sank into his chair. The long years of usefulness, the heavy strain of responsibility, the great life work, were ended. The chastening touch of time had melted his strength into a tender glory that blended with a radiant splendor like a sunset on the Alps.

The force of his example was the beacon light of the ruined South. Here he was even more splendid in defeat than he had ever been in battle; and he fell like a soldier on a shield that knew no stain, surrendering his soul to his Captain, Christ, under whose colors he had fought ever since the days back at Christ Church, Alexandria, when he joined the Church militant. In Christ Church, Alexandria, at prayer, he decided the momentous question of resigning from the Union Army; and there to-day, are two modest marble tablets – the one to George Washington, vestryman; the other to Robert E. Lee, the Christian, whose chivalry made him the last of the Cavaliers.”

A final farewell to the United States & A storm is coming

I would like to say a final farewell to the United States as we know them. You were a great and beautiful country. You are no longer the land of the free or the home of the brave. You allowed your electoral process to become a complete farce and a joke. They cheated right in front of your face and still not enough people could see it or stand up to them and say no. This is truly the saddest day for the United States I have seen in my fifty yrs. Good Bye USA, it was nice knowing you.

It is very apparent that voting is no longer a viable option to bring about change, because the peaceful avenues of discourse and redress have been purposely co-opted and derailed, Gather your strength and your arms my independent bothers and sisters, a storm is coming

Obama speech to soldiers met with silence

Via Billy

President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.

His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.

The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.

“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.

The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.

CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.

The president’s speech to the soldiers is part of his constitutional duties as commander-in-chief.

But Obama and his wife are also trying to reach out to military families in several critical swing-states, including Virginia and Florida. (RELATED: Obama warm to scientists, cold to soldiers)

That outreach, however, has been damaged by repeated flubs from the White House, including its public emphasis on soldiers’ wounds rather than on their accomplishments, and Obama’s effort to distance himself from the anti-jihad campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.

For example, Obama gave Vice President Joe Biden the task of developing a post-war agreement with Iraq’s government in 2009. The effort failed, reducing U.S. gains from the campaign that killed almost 4,500 troops, and as well as thousands of jihadis and Sunni insurgents seeking to regain power. The subsequent withdrawal of nearly all U..S. troops has allowed Iran to increase its influence in Iraq. In turn, that influence helps it support Syria’s dictatorship against Sunni insurgents.

White House officials are trying to avoid additional flubs. On Friday, for example, White House officials rushed to debunk a report that the president had used an autopen to sign condolence letters to soldiers’ families.
