Robert E. Lee Frustrations and Bitter Weeds

 Mike Scruggs

One of my favorite books on Lee

On April 18, 1861, Robert E. Lee turned down the offer President Lincoln made through Francis Preston Blair to make him Supreme Commander of the United States (Union) Army. This was an agonizing decision, but Lee felt he could not with good conscience raise his hand against his home state of Virginia. On April 22, Virginia’s Governor, John Letcher, with the approval of the Virginia Convention of Delegates, offered Lee the command of all Virginia military and naval forces with the rank of Major General. After accepting his appointment, he made some brief remarks at an enthusiastic reception in Richmond, including these words:

“I would have much preferred had your choice fallen on an abler man. Trusting in Almighty God, an approving conscience, and the aid of my fellow citizens, I devote myself to the service of my native State, in whose behalf alone will I ever draw my sword.”

When on May 23, the citizens of Virginia ratified the Secession Ordinance of April 17 by a popular vote of 132,201 to 37,451; Lee became a Major General in the Confederate Army and was made Confidential Military Advisor to President Jefferson Davis.

Plans were already underway to move the Confederate Capital from Montgomery to Richmond. There may have been many strong political reasons for moving the capital to Richmond, but it placed the seat of Confederate government under constant threat by large concentrations of Union troops with short supply lines to Washington. It therefore limited Confederate defensive and offensive options.

Within a few months, two smashing Confederate victories demoralized the North and lifted Southern hopes to unrealistic levels. On June 10, 1,400 Confederate troops soundly defeated a Union force of nearly 7,000 at Big Bethel Church near the town of Hampton in southeastern Virginia.

On July 21, massive Union and Confederate forces of about 35,000 each collided near Manassas, Virginia.  Northern public clamor and political pressures were at high pitch by mid-July to defeat the Confederate Army and take Richmond. Lincoln gave the assignment to Brigadier General Irvin McDowell. McDowell did not believe his troops were ready, but coaxed by Lincoln, he proceeded, against his own better judgment, toward Bull Run Creek and the Confederate Army posted to intercept his advance to Richmond. The Confederates under Brigadier General P. G. T. Beauregard, advancing from near the Manassas railroad junction, planned to strike first by flanking McDowell’s left. McDowell preempted Beauregard, however, with his own planned flank of Beauregard’s left, but it was poorly executed by his inexperienced troops. Nevertheless, McDowell seemed to have won a slight advantage due to Confederate confusion.  But Confederate reinforcements under General Joe Johnston arrived by rail from the Shenandoah Valley and quickly intervened. The tide of battle changed about noon, when Union troops were unable to advance against one of Johnston’s Virginia brigades commanded by Colonel Thomas J. Jackson. Thus evolved the nickname, “Stonewall.” for both Jackson and his brigade.

As Union troops began to withdraw from Jackson’s “stone wall,” Jackson ordered his five regiments to fix bayonets and charge. His famous words were:

“Reserve your fire until they come within 50 yards! Then fire and give them the bayonet! And when you charge, yell like furies!"

This was the first time Union troops heard the disturbing “Rebel yell.”

Jackson’s “Stonewall” Brigade was accompanied in this charge by Wade Hampton’s South Carolina Legion and J.E. B. Stuart’s Virginia cavalry. After an intense back-and-forth battle, one of Jackson’s units captured a Union artillery battery and turned the guns on Union troops as the Confederates brought up their close-action smooth-bore artillery and began to shred Union infantry. These developments turned the Union withdrawal into a disorderly panic streaming toward Washington. This was the largest battle ever fought on American soil until that date.

Lee had played a major role in organizing and training Virginia troops prior to Manassas, but he was left in Richmond to agonize as others rode into battle. On July 28, Lee was sent to western Virginia to advise and coordinate the restructuring of Brigadier General Robert S. Garnett’s brigade of 2,300 men, who had been badly defeated.at Laurel Hill. Garnett was himself killed in action. Lee found the new commander, Brigadier General W.W. Loring, however, to be resentful, surly, and uncooperative. Having only advisory authority, Lee tried gentlemanly diplomacy, but it did not work well with Loring.

On August 31, however, Lee, Adjutant General Samuel Cooper, Albert Sidney Johnston, and P. T. G. Beauregard were made full generals, joining Joseph E. Johnston at that rank. Lee was given a date of rank senior to Beauregard and Joe Johnston, causing some resentment by the latter.  Loring’s attitude improved but not sufficiently.

On September 15-17, Lee tried to coordinate an attack on Union troops at Cheat Mountain. But bad intelligence, bad weather, poor communications from Loring, and measles, dysentery, other sicknesses affecting half the Confederate troops, caused Lee to break off the attack after about 120 casualties and withdraw. Lee then went to the Kanawha River Valley to help two small forces under rival political Brigadier Generals John B. Floyd and H. A. Wise. The two were so quarrelsome and jealous and of each other that cooperation was poor. Lee reconciled them to their duty, but much time was lost. As a result, an opportunity to strike a blow against an advancing Union force was lost before the Confederate forces were able to act.

Although Lee never had direct authority over the troops in western Virginia, he returned to Richmond with all the blame of Cheat Mountain and Kanawha Valley on his shoulders. The Richmond newspapers made sure that burden was heavy. But Providence was about to start Lee on a path that would make him the most respected and admired general in American history.

Journey of Confederate battle flag begins in Craven County

Although the Museum of the Albemarle’s Civil War Sesquicentennial exhibit will remain on display until 2015, the same artifacts will not remain up for that entire time. Every 12 months the curatorial staff rotates new objects into the existing displays. A new artifact just went on display this month, the Whitford Flag.

Sometimes referenced as the “Stars & Bars,” this early Confederate flag measures 72 inches by 38 inches. The flag’s field contains the following inscription: “FORT THOMPSON, CAPT. J.N. WHITFORD, Commanding.” Exactly how the flag ended up at the museum is a story in itself.

J.N. Whitford stands for John Nathaniel Whitford. Born in Craven County, Whitford came from a powerful local family. His father served as a General Assemblyman.

John N. Whitford worked as a local merchant in New Bern. When the war broke out, Governor Henry Toole Clark quickly commissioned Whitford as an army captain.

Using his local connections, Whitford raised a company of artillery—Company I, First North Carolina Artillery. Union troops on the Outer Banks posed a threat to New Bern, so Whitford’s men remained in their hometown. They began work on a series of fortifications to protect the port from attack. Whitford’s battery manned a section of this line known as Fort Thompson.

Taking liberties with Lincoln

Via SHNV

He suspended habeas corpus, ignored the First Amendment and jailed those who disagreed with him. Oscar voters self-righteously protest the politics of ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ but ignore the cracks in Honest Abe’s myth

In handing out their top honors next month, Academy Award voters seem set to implicitly condone the suspension of civil liberties, unlawful imprisonment and blatantly unconstitutional actions by a president who used wartime as an excuse for dictatorial acts.

That president was Abraham Lincoln, and Oscar voters are absolutely fine with “Lincoln” sanitizing his record.

But why the double standard? Voting members of the Academy are lining up to announce they won’t support “Zero Dark Thirty,” which they insulted last week by denying its director Kathryn Bigelow a Best Director nomination she was all but universally considered to have earned. Liberal actors Martin Sheen and Ed Asner have already stepped forward to protest the movie, which they believe advocates torture. Bigelow has said that the film honestly dramatizes various methods that were used by the CIA in the search for Osama bin Laden and stresses that “depiction is not endorsement.”

GRNC Alert 1-20-13 Media Focuses on Gun Show Accident

...Demonstrates Anti-Gun B

The negligent discharge of a shotgun while being uncased Saturday at the Dixie Gun and Knife show at the fair grounds in Raleigh has made national news, and is being cynically used to fuel arguments against private party gun show sales.

Accidents Happen at Events of All Types

Perhaps we should thank the media for laying bare their anti-gun agenda: According to the Centers for Disease Control(1), accidental deaths in the United States for the most recent year tabulated include: 35,332 by motor vehicle, 33,041 by poisoning, 26,009 by falls, 3,782 by drowning, and only 606 by firearms -- and it's a safe bet that few if any of those were at gun shows. Given that more than six times as many people accidentally drown than die by gun accident, a truly unbiased media would report the hazards of water sports rather than gun shows.

(1)http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/dvs/deaths_2010_release.pdf

Points to Keep in Mind:

1. These are minor injuries of the sort that get zero attention when it is a broken leg at a ski slope or horse show;

2. They are accidents, not intentional attacks, again indicating exploitation on the part of the media;

3. Gun owners need to stop politicians and their media conspirators from exploiting accidental mishaps in the agenda to register private gun sales with the FBI via NICS.

NC Department of Agriculture Officials Break State Law

The accident also prompted local officials of the NC Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services that oversee the venue to hastily ban private party sales – in convenient support of the Obama/Biden/Feinstein gun ban agenda. Selective banning of private party sales is also a measure that clearly exceeds authority of Dept. of Agriculture officials, and violates North Carolina General Statute §14409.40, “Statewide uniformity of local regulation”. This regulation states, in part:

“(d) No county or municipality, by zoning or other ordinance, shall regulate in any manner firearms shows with regulations more stringent than those applying to shows of other types of items.”

What this means is that gun shows may not be regulated any differently than any other type of show that is allowed to use the same facilities. In other words, if Dept. of Agriculture wants to ban private party sales at gun shows, they would have to ban virtually every other type of private sale from the property – including concessions at the State Fair. State law prevents treating gun shows any differently than agricultural events.

 New Mexico Shooting.JPEG

A 15-year-old boy fatally shot two adults and three children at a home near Albuquerque, authorities said Sunday.

The teenager was arrested on murder and other charges in connection with the shootings Saturday night at the home in a rural area 10 miles southwest of downtown Albuquerque, Bernalillo County sheriff's spokesman Aaron Williamson said.

The victims' identities haven't been released, and the boy's motive and connection to the five victims weren't immediately known. Williamson said investigators were trying to determine if the victims were related.

"We are trying to identify the victims," Williamson said.

Each victim suffered more than one gunshot wound, he said.

Investigators also were trying to determine who owned several guns that were found at the home, one of which was a semi-automatic military-style rifle.

US Slips Out of Top 10 ‘Happiest Countries’

Can't imagine why.......

VERBATIM

For the first time, the United States does not rank in the top 10 of the Legatum Institute’s annual ranking of the World’s Happiest Countries.

The country ranked No. 10 last year in Legatum’s Prosperity Index, which has been computed for the past six years, but this year the United States ranks No. 12.

The Prosperity Index is based on a study of 142 countries. Nations are ranked on 89 indicators in eight categories including Economy, Governance, Education, Health, Personal Freedom, and Entrepreneurship & Opportunity.

“In general, the most prosperous (thus ‘happiest’ in my book) countries enjoy stable political institutions, a strong civil society with freedom of expression, good education and healthcare, personal freedom, and a feeling of being safe and secure,” observes Christopher Helman on Forbes.com.

The United States slipped to No. 12 in the Entrepreneurship & Opportunity category “due to a decline in citizens’ perception that working hard gets you ahead,” the Legatum’s report states.

America ranks only 27th in Safety & Security and 20th in Economy, but No. 2 in Health and No. 5 in Education. Its rank for Personal Freedom is 14th.

Luxembourg is the healthiest nation, Iceland the safest, and Switzerland is tops in the Economy and Governance categories. But the No. 1 spot overall goes to Norway, which ranks among the top six in seven categories and is No. 1 or No. 2 in three of them.

Norway has a per capita GDP of $57,000 a year; 95 percent of Norwegians say they are satisfied with the freedom to choose the direction of their lives; and 74 percent say other people can be trusted.
The No. 2 spot goes to Denmark, which is tops for Entrepreneurship & Opportunity, followed by Sweden, Australia, New Zealand (which has the No. 1 spot in the Education category), Canada (No. 1 in Personal Freedom), Finland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Luxembourg, and the United States.

At the bottom of the rankings at No. 142, the “saddest” country is the Central African Republic, where the per capita GDP is $790 a year and life expectancy is 48 years. The country ranks dead last in Education and next to last in Entrepreneurship & Opportunity.

The next lowest ranking goes to Republic of Congo — last in Health and Entrepreneurship & Opportunity — followed by Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Haiti.

Among other countries, Iran is No. 102, Mexico is No. 61, Iraq is No. 131, Israel is No. 40, and China is No. 55.

The most dangerous country on earth? Chad, which ranks No. 142 in the Safety & Security category.
Yemen ranks last in Personal Freedom, although several countries including North Korea were not included in the rankings.

Clinton warned that gun owners cannot be "patronized" and that it's a mistake to "[look] down your nose at them."

Dern tootin', but here's to the Liberals ignoring it.

Gun Control Push Bringing Back the Tea Party

When Republicans won historic landslide victories in 1994, it was due in large part to the fact that a relatively moderate Democrat Party had promoted and passed an "Assault Weapons Ban" (AWB) which cut across the grain of gun owners of all parties and all walks of life.

Fast forward to 2013, gun owners of all walks of life exist in even greater numbers, and the Democrat Party is showing them even greater disrespect.

And now, radicalized Democrats are pushing a new AWB, which contains bans on many semi-automatic handguns, 20 and 30 round ammunition magazines, private gun sales, and transfer of firearms between family members. Bill Clinton is warning Democrats to stop.

Drunk on the power they weld in the Senate and the White House, Democrats have once again underestimated to the passions of the common man and stand at the threshold of sparking a grassroots extravaganza that will sweep them out of power in 2014.

Speaking to Democrat donors from the business world, Clinton said of gun owners: "A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the [politicians] proposing these [gun control measures]." He went to intimate that these worlds are increasingly in conflict, and that the gun control push could be setting Democrats up for a long fall with a hard landing.

New Proposal Will Force Gun Owners to Store Assault Weapons At Government Authorized Storage Depots

Via NC Renegade

 government congress

Because you can never have too many laws, regulations and mandates, Massachusetts State Representative David Linsky has filed a new bill that would, among other things, force gun owners to undergo mental health background checks, acquire liability insurance, pay an additional 25% tax on all forms of ammunition, and require firearms categorized as “assault weapons” to be stored outside of their homes and only at government approved storage depots.
“This bill is a comprehensive effort to reduce all types of gun violence – murders, intentional shootings, accidental shootings and suicides.  There is not one solution to reducing gun violence – we can’t eliminate it – but there are a lot of common-sense steps that we can take to significantly reduce the everyday tragedy of gun violence and deaths,” said Linsky.

“I have spoken with hundreds of people over the past few weeks in developing this legislation – victims, police officers, criminologists, physicians, and yes – gun owners and sportsmen,” stated Linsky. “There are a lot of good ideas out there. We should all have one goal – reducing gun violence and trying to keep more tragedies from happening.”
Provisions in the bill include:

Dem congressman says he’s received threats over opposition to NRA

My heart bleeds........

On Saturday’s broadcast of “Up w/Chris Hayes,” Minnesota Democratic Rep. Rick Nolan suggested that the National Rifle Association’s rhetoric is at least partially responsible for the increasingly disturbing threats he is receiving from constituents.

“I think it would be a mistake to underestimate the kind of toxic effect that the NRA is having,” Nolan said. “I have never, ever in all my life feared for my security. And I’m not fearful of it now. But I’m a little more [concerned] than I ever had been before. We’ve been getting a lot of not-very-thinly-veiled threats and calls into my office. You know, things like, ‘You tell him he better watch his back.’ Nobody has actually come out and said they’re gunning for me, but the messages are quite angry, vitriolic and a little bit frightening to people at my front desk who have been taking the calls. I’m a little nervous about it. I’ve never been nervous before. But they are very toxic in the effect they’re having on the American public.”

The NRA endorsed Nolan’s unsuccessful opponent in the 2012 race, then-Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack, and assigned Nolan an “F” rating because of his stance on gun control.

Terror chief: Mokhtar Belmokhtar, identified by the Algerian interior ministry as the leader of a militant Islamic group

A British security guard was murdered in cold blood just minutes into the siege at the Algerian gas plant, an IT worker caught up in  the hostage crisis has told The Mail on Sunday.

The Algerian employee, who managed to escape, has given the most detailed account so far of how Islamist terrorists rounded up foreign workers during the four-day stand-off and placed explosives round their necks.

Following his escape, the IT worker contacted a friend who remained in the camp and witnessed yesterday’s final onslaught by Algerian troops.

Speaking under condition of anonymity after the Algerian army told him not to talk, he said: ‘The terrorists arrived at 5.10am on Wednesday in three vehicles and began firing at a bus. A guard was shot and then another guard got out of a car and was instantly shot dead. I believe he was the first Briton to die.’

The IT worker recalled how the Islamists systematically targeted Western employees.

‘The terrorists went to the alarm station, switched off the alarms, and forced the deputy manager to show them where the expats were. They rounded up the expats, making them all wear explosives around their necks while standing in a circle.

‘The attackers were carrying Kalashnikovs and bombs and went throughout the complex, seeking out expats hiding, and forcing them into the circle.’

He said more than 20 British workers – whom the terrorists called ‘kuffar’, meaning non-Muslims – were rounded up.

He added: ‘Us Algerians were rounded up separately and were treated with kindness. We were told that because we were Muslim we would not be killed, and it was only the Christians they were after.

Dixie & Daddy On Lee

A Person I Admire

The person I admire is Robert E. Lee, the general of the
Confederate Army. He's my Dad's favorite person. Mr. Lee
was an excellent horseman. He, and his horse Traveller,
led the Confederate soldiers to fight against the Yankees.
His four daughters admired his courage, bravery and his
Southern accent. Later in life, Lee's hair turned white. His
beard was always trimmed neatly. He presented a commanding
appearance, straight, alert and intelligence. He was never known
to smoke, drink alcoholic beverages or use profane language.

General Lee was an American hero. Perhaps one day, I can be like him.

============================

Robert Edward Lee, in my estimation, was the greatest man this nation has ever produced. He graduated from the United States Military Academy without a single demerit, a feat that has been unequaled to this day. He also was second in his class and achieved the coveted cadet rank of Adjutant. He served over thirty years in the United States Army and General Winfield Scott stated that Lee's exploit before the Battle of Contreras in Mexico was "the greatest feat of physical and moral courage" he had ever known. General Scott marked him for high command and thought the cost would be cheap if the United States could absolutely insure Lee's life at the cost of five million dollars a year. He proclaimed that Lee "was the very best soldier I ever saw in the field."

In 1856, as dark clouds loomed, Lee stated that "There are few, I believe, in this enlightened age, who will not acknowledge that slavery as an institution is a moral and political evil."

When war finally came General Scott offered him command of the Union Army, but Lee, after pacing the floor all night, decided he could not fight against his own people. Lee's final written words to General Scott were "Save in defense of my native state, I never desire again to draw my sword."

After leading the Army of Northern Virginia to many victories against overwhelming odds, he surrendered and asked his men to go home and be good citizens. A while later he was offered $50,000 for the use of his name by a northern insurance company, but Lee politely informed them "Sirs, my name is the heritage of my parents. It is all I have, and it is not for sale." He also stated that concerning his previous actions "I could have taken no other course without dishonor, and if it were all to be done over again, I should act in precisely the same manner."

In 1868, the New York Herald proposed nominating Lee for President, but Lee was by then President of Washington College where he had but one rule and that was "every man must be a gentleman."

Theodore Roosevelt characterized Lee as "the very greatest of all the great captains that the English-speaking peoples have brought forth." Winston Churchill stated that Lee was "one of the noblest Americans who ever lived."

In closing, I think the words of General/President Eisenhower would be appropriate concerning a question as to why he kept a picture of Lee in his office. He stated that Lee "was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as I read the pages of our history......From deep conviction I simply say this: a nation of men of Lee's calibre would be unconquerable in spirit and soul."

Liberalism is the problem, not guns

VERBATIM

The tragedy at Sandy Hook School has everyone looking for something easy to blame and a simple way to prevent future such incidents from occurring. Much of the focus has been on the tools used by the criminal in this tragedy and possibly banning them from society. The real answer is easy if we just look back.

We have had quick loading, rapid firing, easy to handle weapons since the 1870's.
Machine guns could be bought at hardware stores in the 1920's and one could order military rifles through the mail up until the late 1960's. During all this time these type of public shootings were unheard of. In fact these types of crimes are a product of just the last thirty years, so what has changed in our society in these 30 years?

State sponsored infanticide, loss of prayer in schools, lack of corporal punishment in schools and lenient liberal judges that let criminals go free with just a slap on the wrist, especially the young.  Add to this the excessive violence on TV and in the movies and in some music along with violent video games that create a numbness to murder and mayhem. The lack of personal responsibility promoted by our government by not having to work for your living, single parents, loose women, men not taking responsibility for their children, and the latch key lifestyle and you have created ticking time bombs looking for a place to explode. All of this and more in just the last thirty years!

History is clear, it is liberalism not guns, that is the problem.

Chief Justice John Roberts Schedules A Case Regarding Obamas Forged IDs to be Heard in Conference Before the Full Supreme Court.

The case titled Noonan, Judd, MacLeran, Taitz v Bowen provides a mountain of evidence of Barack Obama using a last name not legally his, forged Selective Service application, forged long form and short form birth certificate and a Connecticut Social Security number 042-68-4425 which was never assigned to him according to  E-Verify and SSNVS. Additionally, this case provides evidence of around one and a half million invalid voter registrations in the state of California alone.

More from Huffington Post: Taitz's case argues that Obama is using false identification, a fake last name, a false Social Security number and forged birth certificates, and Selective Service applications to run for president. She originally filed the lawsuit against California Secretary of State Debra Bowen (D) in her attempt to prevent California's electoral votes from being counted and to prevent Vice President Joe Biden from counting the electoral votes earlier this month.

A federal judge in California dismissed this case last week. Taitz likened her current case to Watergate.

"Please, keep in mind, Richard Nixon was reelected and sworn in, but later was forced to resign as a result of Watergate. over 30 high ranking officials of Nixon administration including Attorney General of the United States and White House Counsel were indicted, convicted and went to prison," Taitz wrote on her website.

"ObamaForgery gate is a hundred times bigger then Watergate. More corrupt high ranking officials, US Attorneys, AGs and judges were complicit, committed high treason by allowing a citizen of Indonesia and possibly still a citizen of Kenya Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barack (Barry) Soebarkah, aka Barack (Barry) Soetoro to usurp the U.S. Presidency by use of forged IDs and a stolen Social security number."

Mock Disaster Training Exercise in Scioto County

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) — A dead science teacher, weapons of mass destruction, first responders in hazmat suits and the Ohio Army National Guard all near the Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth, Thursday. There’s no cause for alarm — this is just a drill!

The mock disaster training exercise is being done with Scioto County first responders and the Ohio Army National Guard 52nd Civil Support Unit.

“It’s the reality of the world we live in,” says Portsmouth Police Chief Bill Raisin. “Don’t forget there is such a thing as domestic terrorism. This helps us all be prepared.”

The make-believe scenario is timely. Two school employees who are disgruntled over the government’s interpretation of the Second Amendment, plot to use chemical, biological and radiological agents against members of the local community.

You do understand what is happening here, don’t you?

Intelligence preparation of the battlespaceplain and simple.

Take the time to click and read those links above.

Then think about the War College piece of a few months ago.

And the Combating Terrorism Center piece of a few days ago.

And now this exercise, which is likely being replicated across the country.

How many other examples can WRSA readers find?

Send what you find to wrsa@hushmail.com. We’ll make such infamy a continuing feature.

The simple term is “demonization”.

Or “scapegoating”.

The WRSA reader who sent this info noted:

…In 1935, the Fatherland Security “excercise” would have read: “Two filthy evil Jews plotted to poison the Berlin water supply.”

Understand that this repeated drumbeat strongly indicates that the .gov has already decided to crush freedom-loving Americans and has launched the early stages of its overall campaign.

They intend to force all Americans to submit to their will.

By any means necessary.

Only one thing:

Tracers (and every other tool or tactic) work both ways.

Resist.

No matter what.

Danny Glover: Second Amendment Was About Protecting Slavery

VERBATIM

danny-glover

I really don’t care about stuff like this. Or, at least, I’d like to tell myself that. I obviously do care because it still ticks me off.

Actor Danny Glover was invited to speak to students at week at Texas A & M. He flatulated:
“I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” he said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans.”
*A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is,” he continued.
One commenting reader at the reporting site noted that if Glover were any dumber, they’d have to water him twice a week. As a pastor, I’d never say such a thing, but I will maybe spray soda all over my computer screen laughing at it.

While you’re there, at a fine institution of higher learning, Mr. Glover, you might want to visit the library. Or, even easier, take a couple of seconds to search the internet for quotes on the Second Amendment from the founders.  Or, even easier, just go here and start reading.

*Nope, sold from their land by their brethren. Slight difference except for useful idiots.
