 .....…Larry Grathwohl is the military veteran who volunteered to infiltrate the Weather Underground as an FBI operative in 1969. He is probably best-known for his firsthand account of a Weatherman meeting at which the organization’s leadership, including the future Professor Ayers, discussed the logistics of how, after the communist revolution they were trying to spearhead, they would murder the ten percent of the American population that would likely remain resistant to the communists’ re-education program.
 
Grathwohl has often been interviewed about that meeting and about his days among the Weather Underground (WU). The focus of those interviews used to be on the radicals and their terrorist operations. More recently, interviewers have turned to Grathwohl to help them highlight Barack Obama’s own radicalism, by reminding people of the true nature of the “guy in Obama’s neighborhood.”


Rather than retrace these (important) angles, I chose to tie Grathwohl’s knowledge of Ayers and the rest of the WU leadership to the issue of public education. Alarming as it is that the president of the United States has, and has carefully concealed, a personal association with a lifelong revolutionary communist, I believe that even that pales in comparison with the mainstream influence and respectability that Ayers, and some of his old cohorts, have come to enjoy in the field of childhood education. A president with Marxist inclinations and attitudes is a great threat. Entire generations of children receiving their first years of moral and intellectual education at de facto Marxist re-education camps — that is a societal catastrophe….....

 A November car chase ended in a "full blown-out" firefight, with glass and bullets flying, according to Cleveland police officers who described for investigators the chaotic scene at the end of the deadly 25-minute pursuit.

 But when the smoky haze -- caused by rapid fire of nearly 140 bullets in less than 30 seconds -- dissipated, it soon became clear that more than a dozen officers had been firing at one another across a middle school parking lot in East Cleveland.

"Ever heard of SB3341?" is Rick Santelli's opening salvo in today's rantless discussion of the concerns he has with Illinois ' 'Precious Metal Purchasing Act'. While passed in the Illinois Senate last year, and moth-balled in the House since, Rick notes that "the long and short of it is they want an audit trail to any precious metals, whether you're talking coins or bullion."
It does not seem too much of a stretch to this Chicagoan to the 1933 Executive Order #6102 art-link-symbol-tiny-grey-arrow-only-rev01.gif that confiscated gold and cleared the way eventually for Nixon's 1971 disconnect of the dollar from gold. I'm sure the government would only use such information in our best interests, because as we all know: Your Government Loves You. GA Sheriff: No One Is Coming To Our State & Violating The Second Amendment!

Sheriff Clay N. Whittle of the Columbia County, Georgia Sheriff’s Department, one of the largest Sheriff’s departments in the state of Georgia, has come out openly and stated that he will oppose Federal and State legislation that attempts to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of the citizens of Columbia County.

He has also joined other sheriff’s in Georgia like Scott Berry in Boycotting Dana Safety Supply for his department’s needs, since the company will not sell semi-automatic rifles to civilians.

Sheriff Whittle is proud to promote his department, stating “We are now one of only a few law enforcement organizations in the country to meet the standards necessary to gain the distinction of accreditation. We are also recognized as the first Sheriff’s office accredited in the State of Georgia. Accreditation impacts citizens through consistency of services and professional delivery, and creates a work environment that is performance based.”

In other words, when Whittle state what he states, it is coming from the mouth of a sheriff whose office is nationally recognized and accredited.

Whittle is a member of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association, who have stated their position on the current gun control debate on the front page of their website.

What is so unusual about these targets? Recently I have received a number of inquiries regarding my position on the second amendment of the Constitution. As Sheriff of Brunswick County, I took an oath to support and defend the United States and North Carolina Constitutions. The citizens of Brunswick County entrusted their office of Sheriff to me, and I will not act inconsistent with my oath, nor will I allow anyone or group to infringe upon the rights of the citizens of Brunswick County afforded by the Constitution.

In today’s world, our society is plagued by acts of violence and criminals seeking to exploit those unprepared. I encourage our citizens to take ownership with regards to their personal safety and the safety of their families. Those seeking to legally arm themselves for personal protection should do so after carefully considering all options available. I support and encourage responsible and legal gun ownership and stand ready to assist the law abiding citizens of our county in processing the necessary documentation to purchase a firearm or obtain a concealed weapons permit. However, to the criminal element seeking to obtain any type of weapon, let this serve as your notice; attempt to do so in Brunswick County and you will be held accountable.

As our state and national leaders search for ways to reduce the ever increasing acts of violence occurring in our society, I pray they seek guidance from the Almighty to find lasting solutions without victimizing our citizens. Recent mass shootings and other acts of violence demonstrate the critical need for additional mental health treatment as we move forward. Additionally, we should vigorously seek out and prosecute criminals, especially those who choose to prey upon our society by aid of weapons. Violent acts committed by criminals and those suffering from mental illness should not be used as a platform to limit or ban the possession or use of weapons by law abiding citizens in our nation. The demonization of firearms will not solve the current crisis and if allowed to go unmolested will serve to expose the good people of our county, state and nation to illegal laws which will make it difficult if not impossible to protect themselves.

As Thomas Jefferson once said, “A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.” As a citizen and as your Sheriff, it is my belief we can address the violence currently gripping our nation, by means of careful thought and looking to the root cause of the issues.

Comcast Bans All Gun Advertising On Its Networks


A gun shop owner said firearm manufacturers, distributors and retailers are being targeted unfairly after Comcast announces it’s dropping all gun shop ads from its nationwide cable network.

The cable company recently acquired NBC Universal and this is a long standing policy there.

When a local ad agency recently placed an order for Williams Gun Sight in Davison Township, it was denied. Owner Tom Wright said he’ll take his business elsewhere.

“I thought it was ridiculous, we are a legitimate business, we have been here for 80 years,” he said.

• HB-1224: Bans all magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. FINAL VOTE: 34-31 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Lebsock, and Vigil voting NO.

• HB-1226: Bans armed self-defense on college campuses; expanding criminal safe-zones to all state college and university campuses. FINAL VOTE: 34-31 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Lebsock, and Vigil voting NO.

• HB-1228: Imposes a Jim Crow-style gun tax on all purchases. This legislation has no limit on the amount the CBI could charge for a background check. FINAL VOTE: 33-32 with Democrat Reps. Garcia, Mitsch-Bush, Vigil, and Young voting NO.

• HB-1229: Bans the private sale of firearms and institutes universal background checks/gun registration for all Colorado gun owners. FINAL VOTE: 36-29 with Democrat Rep. Vigil voting NO.

College: Fire professor who forced students to vote for Obama


A tenured professor who forced her students to sign pledges that they would vote for President last November should be fired, the college’s president recommended.

Sharon Sweet, an associate professor of mathematics at Brevard Community College in Florida, is guilty of electioneering, harassment, and incompetence, according to a three-month investigation into her classroom behavior leading up to the November election.

The Board of Trustees will hold a hearing on the matter, and then vote on whether to adopt President James Richey’s recommendation that Sweet be fired.

Land of the free? Senator says immigration stats show welfare rules not enforced

 

 Needless to say, this depends on who you are sponsoring.  A Vietnamese?  They cannot take any form of government assistance for 10 years, which is the way it should be and if they do, you the sponsor has to pony up the bucks.  Those from South of the border get a pass, though. Can't imagine why........::)

Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions is accusing the Obama administration of failing to enforce a century-old law meant to prevent immigrants from taking root in the U.S. only to live on the government dole -- after the administration reported it did not cite anyone for this last year.

"Virtually no one one is being examined before they enter the country on whether or not they'll ... immediately begin to depend on government welfare," Sessions, R-Ala., top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, told Fox News.

As Congress weighs new immigration legislation, Sessions said any reform package "has got to end that."

Sessions turned up new statistics from the Department of Homeland Security last week showing what he describes as a startling trend. DHS reported how relatively few immigrants are being turned away on the grounds that they are likely to become a "public charge" -- or individuals who depend on welfare programs -- despite a 100-year-old law that's supposed to prevent this.

A staple of American self-esteem is that we Yanks are brave, free, independent, self-reliant, ruggedly individual, and disinclined to accept abuse from anyone. This was largely true in, say, 1930. People lived, a great many of them, on farms where they planted their own crops, built their own barns, repaired their own trucks, and protected their own property. They were literate but not educated, knew little of the world beyond the local, but in their homes and fields they were supreme.

If they wanted to swim buck nekkid in the creek, they swam buck nekkid. If whistle pigs were eating the corn, the family teenager would get his rifle and solve the problem. Government left them alone.
Even in the early Sixties, in rural King George County, Virginia, where I grew up, it was still mostly true. The country people built their own boats to crab in the Potomac, converted junked car engines to marine, made their own crab pots, planted corn and such, and hunted deer. There was very little contact with the government. One state trooper was the law, and he had precious little to do.

I say the following not as an old codger painting his youth in roseate hues that never were, but as serious sociology: We kids could get up on a summer morning, grab the .22 or .410, put it over our shoulder and go into the country store for ammunition, and no one looked twice. We could go by night to the dump to snap-shoot rats, and no one cared. We could get our fishing poles—I preferred a spinning reel and bait-casting tackle—and fish anywhere we pleased on Machodoc Creek or the Potomac. We could drive unwisely but joyously on winding wooded roads late at night and nobody cared.

Call it “freedom.” We were free, and so were the country folk on their farms and with their crabbing rigs. Because we were free, we felt free.  It was a distinct psychology, though we didn’t know it.

Things then changed.

Affirmative Action 50 years later

My reply to the state NAACP about continuing the Voting Rights Act indefinitely in Shelby County, the state of Alabama or anywhere in the United States is: Affirmative Action and a host of other such programs are no longer needed. They did what they were intended to do at the time & have long since lived out their usefulness.

When Civil Rights were won in 1964, minorities became equal with every American citizen. Minorities have the same constitutional rights as everyone else. I defy anyone to name one right that other Americans have that minorities do not have?

According to the U.S. government's own statistics, whites are now the minority in America. How would the NAACP feel about letting us have all those special rights and privileges?

If anything, minorities have privileges that other Americans do not have because of programs like Affirmative Action that make it a law that a set aside quota of minorities must be included and promoted in everything even if there are more qualified candidates available. How is this fair to all Americans?

If minorities truly are equal to everyone else, then why does the NAACP feel these unfair advantages over other races are needed? As MLK said, "he dreamed of a day when blacks would be judged by their character and not the color of their skin." How then can this be equal if unfair advantages are given because of black skin color instead of standing on ones own character and merit?

Today, 50 years after Civil Rights were won by minorities, if the NAACP does not feel blacks have caught up with all other races through those special rights and privileges, then what year do they project as the time they might do so?

Dear Representative Cleveland,

The Compact for America Initiative is a new, complex legislative package with the goal of getting 38 states to (1) petition Congress for an Article V amendments convention (also commonly known as a constitutional convention) for the purpose of proposing a balanced budget amendment (BBA) to the U.S. Constitution; and (2) pre-ratify a specific BBA so that it would not be necessary to get 38 states to ratify a BBA after it would be proposed by the amendments convention.

The basic argument against the Compact for America initiative is that any article V constitutional convention cannot be limited as to the subject matter and number of amendments that would be considered. No matter how much state legislatures attempt to restrict such constitutional conventions, the Right of the People in such conventions to alter their form of government is embedded right in the heart of the Declaration of Independence where it states:

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government."

Although Article V of the Constitution provides for the calling of constitutional conventions for the People to exercise their right to alter their government, over the past 30 years most state legislators have voted against enabling such conventions to be held, believing that the risk to the Constitution posed by such conventions outweighs any possible benefits from one or a few specific amendments.

Please oppose the passage of a Compact for America bill, or any other call for a constitutional convention.

Virginia man protects his 2-year-old son, shoots and kills intruders in his home

A Virginia man was home with his 2-year-old son with three intruders forced their way into his home. He shot and killed two of them and the third intruder managed to escape.

Prince Edward sheriff’s deputies are investigating a deadly home invasion that happened early Sunday morning in Prospect. Two of the three suspects are dead, shot by the homeowner in self defense, according to investigators on scene. Meanwhile, the search continues for the third suspect.
This situation began unfolding at about 4:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Prince Edward Highway, or Route 460. Investigators told NBC12’s Kelly Avellino three unknown men forced their way in the front door of the home, where a man was alone with a 2-year-old child.
According to a press release issued by Sheriff Wesley W. Reed, that man called 911 to report a home invasion and said the suspects were armed. Reed also said gunfire was exchanged between the suspects and the caller.
Authorities said two suspects were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third managed to escape on foot.
We’re told the homeowner and the child were not harmed. 

GOP may cave on magazine limits

 

An increasing number of lawmakers in both parties appear willing to compromise on high-capacity magazines, the one component of gun control legislation that seems palatable to Republicans who view a full ban on assault weapons as politically toxic.

The New York Times reports that there appears to be some willingness on both sides to limit the type of magazines that can hold 15 and 30 rounds that have been used in mass shootings like those in Newtown, Conn.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Aurora, Colo.

Lawmaker told the newspaper they see a distinct difference between limits on magazine sizes and a full ban, which would not gain enough support.

“I see them as separate,” said Sen. Angus King Jr., an independent from Maine. “It’s the difference between appearance and functionality. High-capacity magazines have contributed to a lot of these tragedies.”

Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader who has been a strong supporter of the National Rifle Association (NRA), remains staunchly opposed to an assault weapons ban. But even he has indicated a willingness to limit magazine sizes for civilian gun owners.

“I think it is something we ought to discuss,” he said.

Constitutional lawyers and some conservatives generally believe that limiting magazine size falls within the boundaries of recent Supreme Court decisions on gun rights.

Tim Norman indicates that we’ll have a good turnout of area members as well as interested persons, please do invite friends and family as we intend to have a good discussion of why the League exists, what the goals of the NC LS are, and why we bother to question the dismal state of political affairs in our State and this country.  One of the most important reasons we in the NC LS pursue our goal of a sovereign North Carolina is to pass along the American inheritance of political liberty to our children, and grandchildren.  No cause is better than this.

As you have no doubt seem from our frequent NC LS newsletters we are politically active in North Carolina and last year unveiled our first candidate profile for those running for political office across the State. This has received much attention as news outlets and both parties are aware of our traditional conservative political positions.  We stress that we are not a Southern heritage group, the NC LS is a political action organization that pursues the above-stated goals.  We also ally with others in NC like Tenth Amendment and immigration reform groups who share our views and pursue similar ends.  Again, if you know of people who would be interested in our efforts, no matter if they would join the NC LS or not, please let them know we welcome them.
