Secession a Necessary Path to Reunion:

 http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5169/5376768730_e4ff7e52eb_m.jpg

To truly save the Union,   Below, Senator Robert M.T. Hunter of Virginia addresses the United States Senate on January 11, 1861.  Senator Hunter was correct that the North would not take the freedmen northward to live free among them; they would be used by the North as substitutes for white northerners in the ranks, and given land in the South to keep them from moving northward to compete with Northern labor.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission

Secession a Necessary Path to Reunion:

“But, Mr. President, I say that if coercion were right, it is impossible. I acknowledge that you may make a civil war which will produce immense disasters in both sections of the country; I acknowledge that you can inflict immeasurable evils and great calamities upon both the contending sections; but as to supposing that either one could subdue the other so as to place it under its yoke, and impose its laws upon it, I do not entertain the idea for an instant.

Why, sir, how would this war of coercion be waged? It would take $100,000,000 yearly, for you cannot wage it with less than a hundred thousand men; and where would you get this sum? Not from imports; for what would the imports for the northern portion of the Confederacy  be when you took from them all that comes in return for the exports of the South?

You would have to sustain the war by loans and direct taxation; and is it to be supposed that the people would bear such burdens in such a cause as that? [Would] they submit to such a scheme of taxation for the purpose of enforcing their yoke upon other people – for the purpose of depriving those other people of the right of self-government?

Whose would be the commerce that would be preyed upon? Not the Southern commerce. That would go in foreign bottoms. The commerce to be preyed upon by privateers would be the commerce of the other section of the Confederacy.

You could not steal our negroes. Your own people would not allow you to take them and set them free among them, to enter into competition with them for labor and wages. How could you carry on such a war, sir?

And what would you get in return [for the naval blockade]? Would the customs that you thus collected pay the expense of the blockade? Would they pay half the expenses of the blockade? It is manifest they would not.

I say then, Mr. President, that it is idle to talk of coercion. But suppose you could succeed – I put the question to you now – suppose you had succeeded according to your utmost wishes; supposed you had conquered the South; that you had subjugated the entire section; that you had reduced those States to the condition of dependent provinces; how would you exercise your power? Would you repeat the experiment of the British West Indies – of the Island of Jamaica? Would your people stand by to see the cultivated fields return to the bush, the white man gradually reduced to the level of the negro, and the negro remitted to his primitive condition of barbarism? Would the great  interests of civilization and humanity permit such a result?

[Why] not cede back the forts to those States that claim to have seceded, and to have withdrawn from this Confederacy? What do you want with them? What do you want with the forts in the harbor at Charleston? If you do not mean to coerce South Carolina, they are of no use to you; if you do mean to coerce her, you ought not to have them.

The whole thing lies in a nutshell; because, if you do mean to use them for the purpose of coercion, you light up the flames of civil war, and there is no telling when those flames will be extinguished……

Secession does not necessarily destroy the Union, or rather the hopes of reunion; it may turn out to be the necessary path to reconstruction. The secession of the Roman people to the Sacred Mount did not destroy Rome. On the contrary, it led to a reconstruction of the constitution, to the tribunitian veto, to new securities for the equality and liberty of the people. The Roman Government became more permanent and powerful than before, and the Roman people benefited from the change.

I say, therefore, that, so far as I can weigh the question, it is no more a question of Union, but of reunion. To produce reunion, it is essential that the Southern States should be allowed to take that position which it is obvious they are going to take, in peace. You must give too, all the time you can, and offer all the opportunities you may, to those who desire to make an effort for the reconstruction of this Confederacy.

Sir, I say I am one of those….I also believe that the interests of mankind, our own interests, and he interests of our confederacies, would then require that we should reconstruct the old Union if we can, or rather construct a new Union on terms of equality and of justice.”

ATF checking on Chinese ammo manufacturing equipment import cutoff report

Via avordvet

Has a source for ammuniton manufacturing equipment been cut off by government edict during a time of unprecedented market shortages?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives is looking for evidence of a rule that the government has exercised its Munitions List regulatory authority to cut off the importation of ammunition manufacturing equipment from China, Gun Rights Examiner was told today by a representative of ATF's Office of Public and Governmental Affairs.

A report yesterday by Gary North at The Tea Party Economist that the government has recently forbidden importation of such Chinese equipment has gun owners concerned that another avenue for citizens to obtain ammunition may have been intentionally closed off as part of the Obama administration’s executive actions to impose by fiat what the Congress will not.

Well-publicized shortages from unprecedented demand, coupled with massive government procurements, have left existing suppliers working around the clock and retailers imposing purchase limits on some items they must scramble to keep in stock. Additionally, reports that, instead of selling brass casings to reloaders, some military installations are destroying and selling them as scrap, have added to worries. A growing sentiment is that a shortage explained by some as a mere market reaction is being compounded with artificial stockouts caused by administration machinations.

Memo to the South: Go Ahead, Secede Already!

Via NC Links

 Mason Dixon Line

Fine with me, too bad you didn't let us go before instead of instigating a bloodbath.

A solid block of Southern states continues to refuse to expand Medicaid, thus squashing one of the linchpins of the president’s health-care reform. The South will likely be the last and most stubborn battleground in the fight for gay marriage. Gun control? The more the two sides seem to get cozier with each other, the faster gun-control legislation gets watered down—and more and more red states are passing laws making it legal to carry a concealed weapon. As for immigration, the red states seem to be relaxing their anti-immigrant fervor, but nothing approaching new legislation is even on the horizon.

The sad truth is that “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” can only be achieved at this point if the nation is split in half. Far from being fanciful or fanatical, the proponents of secession have a stronger grasp of political reality than just about anyone else. In fact, there are serious reasons why the North itself should take the lead in a secessionist movement.

Just think what America would look like without its mostly Southern states.

GRNC Alert 5-2-13: Will UNC Opposition Kill Campus Carry?

 http://silencedogood2010.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/grncwralgraphic.jpg

Bill now calendared for Monday: Take action now to keep restaurant/campus carry moving!

For the second time, yesterday, HB 937, containing restaurant carry, campus gun storage, carry in assemblies of people and other pro-gun measures, got pulled from the calendar, ostensibly because fiscal and incarceration notes were not yet ready.

Frankly, that doesn't make sense. Such notes should have been prepared when the bill was in committee, not at this late date. And House leadership's assertions notwithstanding, the delays coincide exactly with opposition to the bill by University of North Carolina president Tom Ross, UNC Wilmington Chancellor Gary Miller, lobbyists for NC State University (yes, NCSU is part of the UNC system) and most recently UNC Greensboro Chancellor Linda Brady (and perhaps others). The two things might be unrelated, but frankly, with crossover deadline approaching, we can't take the chance.

Below is the open letter from GRNC President Paul Valone to UNC President Tom Ross. Similar letters have gone out from representatives of Students for Concealed Carry, the national organization for which has become involved in helping to pass HB 937. Additional note: Rep. Bob Steinburg (R-Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell), who was listed among legislators who needed to hear from you on a previous alert, notes that although he introduced a weakening amendment to campus carry in committee, in which he sought to address the problem of vehicle break-ins by requiring guns to be kept in locked compartments within vehicles, he otherwise voted in favor of the bill. (The amendment was opposed by bill sponsors and failed.) He also notes that he does *not* plan to reintroduce the same amendment on the floor.

NC House Bill 786 -Reclaim NC Act (the bill that provides drivers' licenses (permits) and state ID cards to illegal aliens in NC), passed another hurdle on Wednesday, May 1st. It was approved by the NC House Judiciary Sub-Committee B and is now in the NC House Finance Committee.

This is the last step before it goes to the House floor for a vote!

We MUST make sure that several clauses and sections in this bill are fixed before it leaves this committee. If you don't stand up and say "FIX THIS BILL" now, you will be "sold down the river" by this Republican sponsored bill.

1) This bill does not help unemployed NC citizens get the jobs the illegal aliens currently have (and I'm not talking about stoop farm labor). In fact, it makes it easier for the illegal aliens to get to those jobs, by giving drivers' licenses (permits) to all illegal aliens in NC!

2) It exempts the employers from prosecution if they hire them, as long as the illegal alien has one of these state issued drivers' licenses (permits) or a state issued ID card.

3) It wipes out our current e-verify law. Currently, the employer does not have to check for legal status of his employees IF they are classified as a seasonal worker (90 days or less). This bill  redefines a seasonal worker as anyone who works less than one year! That means, employers need not verify the immigration status of seasonal, intermittent, temporary, or day laborers. Not only is this provision patently unfair to employees who do not fit this description, but it creates an exception for the worst violators of federal law who employ scores of illegal aliens. Also, the bill creates a huge loophole and perverse incentive for employers to manipulate the terms of their employees’ employment so as to avoid complying with North Carolina’s E-Verify law.

In light of the recent bombings in Boston, it is unconscionable to be issuing licenses and ID's to illegal aliens, especially if you can't prove who they are. There is NO DATABASE in Mexico, to check the validity of the records that are required, to get one of these licenses or ID's. Our NCDMV employees will have to simply accept what they are handed as being truthful and continue with the process of creating a brand new identity for a possible terrorist who is intent on killing us!

PLEASE contact the Finance Committee members listed below with the following message:

Rep. Harry Warren is touting HB786 as a law enforcement assistance bill, NOT an illegal alien assistance bill! Let's ensure that it lives up to his vision.

Remove Section 8(f) that redefines the term employee,

Remove Section 8(g) that redefines a seasonal worker from 90 days to "less than one year",

Remove Section 8(h) that exempts employers from prosecution if the employee has one of the state issued restricted licenses or ID's and

Remove Section 9, (the license language) ENTIRELY!

This is extremely important to all of us in North Carolina! Please take 2 minutes to contact these Representatives.

WOUNDED KNEE AND TODAY

This type of mass genocide better known as terrorism or just premeditated murder, was official policy of the U.S. Army at the time because they had practiced it for years against the South, without any consequence or accountability.  It was officially sanctioned by Lincoln, and Sherman even wrote about it saying that the civilians in the South would have to be eliminated so that it could be repopulated by their people. So naturally it was easy to transfer the policy of genocide to the Indians, again justifying it by saying that they, like southerners, weren't worthy of life because they resisted tyranny. Of course the Indians' crime like the south, was simply wanting to be left alone and not have everything they lived for stolen from them, something the Yankee brain just will not tolerate. As a matter of fact many of the same Union officers such as Sheridan and Custer were eager to again pick up the bloody sword to gain promotion, glory or whatever was in their twisted minds.

It's basically the same policy that's been used by mass murderers throughout history - dehumanize a class or culture or race of people, paint them as revolutionaries, savages, backwards, danger to authority, whatever suits the political correctness of the times.  Then it's easier to murder them. Of course it's a whole lot easier when they're unarmed, and especially civilians (women and children).  Yes, the same thing that happened at Wounded Knee happened in the South. It's factual and it's documented.  We should never forget that the United States military was the executioner both times, because we are probably closer to it happening again than ever since Wounded Knee.

Explosives stolen from USFS facility near Red Lodge

Via avordvet

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Carbon County Sheriff's Office are asking for help from the public in gathering information about the theft of approximately 559 pounds of high explosives from a USFS explosives bunker located near Red Lodge.

A press release from the ATF says that in April 2013, someone used forced entry to get into an explosives storage facility owned and operated by the U. S. Forest Service, which is located about two miles south of Red Lodge.

Officials say that various emulsion-type explosives, explosive cast boosters and detonating cord were taken from the facility.

PLEASE REPOST THIS ON MANY FB PAGES AND WEBSITES! Please pardon my typos. I am in pain and moderate shock from what just happened which I am trying to write about. It is 4 am and I am still not calmed down enough to sleep!

Tonight 7-10 male Law Enforement Officers in heavy body armour broke into my home and did much destruction. I am injured, but do not know how bad. The 1st year Sheriff Deputy, Greta Vaughan who broke and entered into my house two weeks ago giving no reason, that we were going to bring charges against but were not permitted to do when to a judge and got a search warrant for my home and took over $25-30,000 worth of my handguns, all in absolutely new condition some worth $2,000+ each. She wanted to search for guns since Christopher always open carries. Sheriff Deputies blocked Christopher from entering the Forsyth Court House last week. That is another whole story.

Shots Fired and My Family is Inside…

 1280px-Do_Not_Cross,_Crime_Scene

I thought I was ready.

As a “type A” person, I just knew I would “step up” to defend my family from harm.

I was wrong!

When I pulled up to my house, there was an unknown, ragged looking van in my driveway. As I put the car in park, a strange, short man in very baggy jeans and a white muscle shirt came out my own front door with two of my computer monitors, one under each arm.

He immediately saw my truck, locked eyes with me for a full second that seemed like an eternity, dropped the monitors and ran back inside; slamming the door behind him.

As I dialed 911 and my mind processed the hardened look and lack of fear in the man’s eyes, my heart began racing with more fear than I have ever felt in my life for one simple reason.

I knew my family was inside that house.

Confederate flags at Hot Spring VA being removed again

Via Billy

Two Confederate flags in an historical display at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs have again been removed, this time by a directive from a regional official.

And it looks like the flags will not be hung there again.

Janet Murphy, director of the VA Midwest Health Care Network in Eagan, Minn., announced Wednesday that the controversial flags would be removed from a Freedom Shrine display in the rotunda of the main VA building in Hot Springs.

SHERIFF: ‘We want people to call us if guy down street hates government’

 http://www.teaparty.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/GladstoneaFlag450x285.gif?3d662a

Florida House and Senate budget leaders have awarded Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw $1 million for a new violence prevention unit aimed at preventing tragedies like those in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., from occurring on his turf.

Bradshaw plans to use the extra $1 million to launch “prevention intervention” units featuring specially trained deputies, mental health professionals and caseworkers. The teams will respond to citizen phone calls to a 24-hour hotline with a knock on the door and a referral to services, if needed.

The goal will be avoiding crime — and making sure law enforcement knows about potential powder kegs before tragedies occur, Bradshaw said. But the earmark, which is a one-time-only funding provision, provoked a debate Monday among mental health advocates and providers about the balance between civil liberties, privacy and protecting the public.

Bradshaw said his proposal is a first-of-its-kind in the nation, and he hopes it will become a model for the rest of the state like his gang prevention and pill-mill units.

“Every single incident, whether it’s Newtown, that movie theater, or the guy who spouts off at work and then goes home and kills his wife and two kids — in every single case, there were people who said they knew ahead of time that there was a problem,” Bradshaw said. “If the neighbor of the mom in Newtown had called somebody, this might have saved 25 kids’ lives.”

Was Jefferson Davis a traitor?

Pistols at dawn?

Jefferson Davis was without a doubt a traitor to the United States of America. The first point at which this can be argued is the fact that he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant when he graduated from West Point in 1828. He served in several campaigns with honor with the U.S. military.

Obama's verdict on presidency: 'I should go home'

 http://www.wnd.com/files/2012/01/obama-worried-340x225.jpg

A forensic profiler whose career has included work on the double-murder case against O.J. Simpson and the Natalie Holloway disappearance says recent comments from Barack Obama reveal – again – that he believes his presidency is illegitimate.

Andrew G. Hodges, M.D., who wrote “The Obama Confession: Secret Fear, Secret Fury,” explained in an analysis of the president’s recent statements for WND that Obama keeps harping on a theme.

The comments included during a recent press conference, when “the press noted his unusual glum mood” and Obama wisecracked, “If you put it that way, maybe I should just pack up and go home.”

Wrote Hodges, “His super-intel sees the real issue of his illegal presidency and what he should do – leave office. Obama’s true moral compass cannot stop holding himself accountable even if Congress won’t. In fact, he directed further comments at them.”

Hodges explained that Obama told the press about members of Congress: “They’re elected. Members of Congress are elected in order to do what’s right for their constituencies and the American people.”

At that point, Obama said Congress “should be thinking about what is going to happen five years from now, 10 years from now, or 15 years from now. The only way to do that is for them to engage with me on coming up with a broader deal and that’s exactly what I’m trying to do.”

Hodges previously said Obama’s statement “I am not a dictator” actually meant, “I am the dictator president,” and concluded Obama unconsciously confessed to stealing the 2012 election.

NC: Duke Raises Student Fees to Pay for Sex Change Surgery

Via Kaf

http://righttruth.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451c49a69e2019101ba1ad9970c-500wi

College costs are on the rise–having increased at a rate that outpaces inflation for more than two decades, contributing to record levels of student debt. Nevertheless, Duke University saw fit to raise the cost of its program even more. This week Campus Reform reports that Duke has raised student fees in order to pay for sex change operations for any student who wants one.

Administrators say they will cover the cost of the reassignment surgery up to $50,000 that will be covered with a cause a 0.3 percent increase to overall student fees.LGBT advocates on campus immediately celebrated the university’s decision.

If Jackson.......

 http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130501034030-stonewall-jacksons-arm-story-top.jpg

On 1 May 1863 began yankee General Joseph Hooker's advance against CS General Robert E. Lee, planning to encircle Lee front and back. Didn't quite turn out that way. It was Lee's perfect battle, with the perfect subaltern, Stonewall Jackson. In the face of Hookers vastly superior numbers (over 2 to 1), Lee split his Army of Northern Virginia. On 2 May he sent Jackson on a flanking march. Stonewall caught a corps of the yankee army waving in the breeze, and rolled 'em up, routing the entire corps. By the morning of 6 May, Hooker had withdrawn.

On 2 May 1863 occurred one of the chief events that may have lost the South the war: Stonewall Jackson was wounded, tragically by his own troops. He lost an arm and seemed to rally, but succumbed to pneumonia on 10 May 1863. All that is in the providence of God, but it's hard not to guess that if Jackson had been at Gettysburg instead of Longstreet, Meade would have been demolished and we'd have our own country.
