Benghazi Cover-Up: WH Official Tied To Benghazi Scandal & CBS News President Are Brothers
I told you yesterday that CBS’ Sharyl Attkisson has been receiving a lot of pushback from the Obama White House. She has been one of the few that have been pursuing the Benghazi story as a real journalist, seeking to get the truth of the story out. I have speculated that White House deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes may be the culprit in coming up with the story that would be the attempt to cover-up the Benghazi story, namely that a YouTube video brought about protests which led to the attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. However, now there is a serious question about the ties between the White House and CBS. Sources have confirmed that CBS President David Rhodes is the brother of Ben Rhodes.
The Daily Caller made the connection:
The brother of a top Obama administration official is also the president of CBS News, and the network may be days away from dropping one of its top investigative reporters for covering the administration’s scandals too aggressively. CBS News executives have reportedly expressed frustration with their own reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, who has steadily covered the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack in Libya since late last year

Hispanic Janitors Claim Discrimination Because They Can’t Read English
Idiots.
Let’s say I was planning a trip to Germany. Once I arrived, I was so enamored by the country that I made plans to live there. Following the difficult immigration process, I move everything across the ocean to Germany, find a place to live in a great part of town, and settle in. However, after a few months, my savings have dried up. I have run out of money and I need a job. I go to interview after interview; finally landing a job at a local restaurant as a busser. During my time at work, I come across a sign that reads “Gefahr, heiß!” Unfortunately, I don’t speak a lick of German, and I don’t understand that “Gefahr, heiß!” means “Danger, Hot!” I wind up with a pretty bad burn, so I sue the restaurant.
Does that seem fair? Obviously not. Do you think a judge would even deign to hear my case in court? I’d hope not, because it was my fault for moving to Germany without bothering to learn the language of the country. A similar case is moving forward in Colorado as I write this article.
According to CBS Denver:
“A group of Hispanic custodians at the
Auraria Campus in downtown Denver are claiming they are victims of
discrimination. They’ve filed a complaint against the campus operator
that could be reviewed by a federal judge…’Too many things have happened
to me there that I don’t even know how to explain it,’ said Auraria
custodian Bertha Ribota. Ribota said she was injured at work because she
couldn’t read a warning sign that was in English…’If I could speak English I wouldn’t have the problems that exist,’ said Ribota.”

White House Meets Privately with Press to Discuss Benghazi
"What difference does it make?"
In the White House’s latest efforts at transparency, the administration announced to reporters that it would brief reporters on the latest shocking developments about the Benghazi situation … behind closed doors. Politico reports that the meeting started at approximately 12:45 PM ET, and that it moved the normal press briefing to 1:45 PM ET. Jay Carney, White House press secretary, did not comment on whether the meeting took place.
Politico reports:
The off-the-record session was announced to reporters in the wake of an ABC News report
showing that White House and State Dept. officials were involved in
revising the now-discredited CIA talking points about the attack on
Benghazi.
The
administration routinely exerts pressure on reporters it feels are not
kind enough in their coverage. Reporters like Cheryl Attkisson of CBS
News have felt the hand
of their bosses for “wading dangerously close to advocacy” with regard
to Benghazi. No doubt this “off-the-record” meeting was designed to get
all the president’s horses and all the president’s men to put the
Benghazi humpty dumpty together again.
UPDATE: Reporters not invited to the off-the-record briefing are reportedly incredibly unhappy about it:
UPDATE II: Jake Tapper of CNN reports that the regularly scheduled press briefing has been delayed even further:

New Jersey Dems Caught on Hot Mic Wanting to 'Confiscate, Confiscate, Confiscate ... Their Little Guns'
How many times have we heard establishment press members, particularly broadcasters, insist that no one on the left side of the gun control discussion wants to take away anyone's guns? Just a few examples include CNN's Piers Morgan, CNN's Carol Costello, and MSNBC's Alex Wagner, even after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was quoted in the New York Times before Christmas saying that "confiscation could be an option." Currently, New York, as Hot Air's Jazz Shaw noted in late April, actually is confiscating guns, based on "the exercise of reasonable professional judgment" of "mental health professionals."
Though I'm sure they'll try, the deniers are going to have a hard time explaining away what the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs has reported with accompanying audio. After the conclusion of a hearing of New Jersey's Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, an open mic captured the following discussion among three Democratic senators (HT PolitiChicks via Instapundit; internal link and bolds are in original)

National guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed on April 19th by elements of a para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.
Speaking after the clash Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group's organizers as "criminals," issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government's efforts to secure law and order. The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.
Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms.
One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that "none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily." Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government's plans.
During a tense standoff in Lexington's town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists. Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange. Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces overmatched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.
Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and John Hancock, who have been identified as "ringleaders" of the extremist faction, remain at large.

Missouri lawmakers pass bill to nullify federal gun control laws
The Missouri Legislature sent the governor a bill Wednesday that would expand gun rights and declare all federal gun regulations unenforceable, in a response to President Obama's push for gun control legislation.
The Republican-led Legislature passed the measure hoping to shield the state from federal proposals that would ban assault weapons and expand background checks. But the U.S. Senate's defeat of a background check expansion three weeks ago did nothing to assuage the fears of Missouri Republicans who pressed forward with their legislation.
The Missouri House voted 118-36 Wednesday to send the bill to Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon. The Senate passed the measure earlier this month.

Rand Paul: The moment of responsibility for Hillary Clinton: Her fatal mistakes mirror the disaster at Mogadishu
When I took Hillary Rodham Clinton to task in January for the mishandling of security in Benghazi, Libya, I told her that if I had been president at the time, I would have relieved her of her post. Some politicians and pundits took offense at my line of questioning.
During those hearings, I reminded Mrs. Clinton that multiple requests were sent to the State Department asking for increased security measures. I asked if she had read the cables from Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens asking for increased security. She replied that she was busy and had not read them. I find that inexcusable.
Four months later, we are hearing that Mrs. Clinton allegedly withheld information from a counterterrorism bureau during the response. We are hearing new allegations that Special Forces wanting to respond during the attacks were told, “You can’t go” by superiors. Ambassador Stevens‘ deputy, Gregory Hicks, testified this week that he spoke with Mrs. Clinton on the night of the attack, when these orders were given. We are hearing that Mr. Hicks was initially told by the State Department not to meet with congressional investigators.
We are, again, hearing allegations that contradict the White House’s story.

Attorney to Malzberg: Benghazi Whistleblower Reassigned, Demoted
Benghazi whistleblower Greg Hicks has been demoted to a desk job for speaking out on the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks at the U.S. post in Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, his attorney said on Friday.
"He was offered a choice: no job or a job that doesn't mean anything," attorney Victoria Toensing told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV. "It's a desk job."

From Hilsy, and one of his final attempts to remain relevant, pointing out what everyone already knew:
Federal Reserve officials have mapped out a strategy for winding down an unprecedented $85 billion-a-month bond-buying program meant to spur the economy—an effort to preserve flexibility and manage highly unpredictable market expectations.Don't expect an imminent announcement.
Officials say they plan to reduce the amount of bonds they buy in careful and potentially halting steps, varying their purchases as their confidence about the job market and inflation evolves. The timing on when to start is still being debated. The whisper sellside consensus is that it will be the September FOMC meeting, just after the Jackson Hole meeting at which Bernanke will be absent, that the first details of the flow "slowdown" will be revealed. But there is certainly no consensus.

Admiral James Lyons: Obama intentionally conspired with America's enemies to stage a bogus attack..........
Via Billy
It's even worse than we previously thought. A retired four-star admiral
is now claiming that Barack Obama intentionally conspired with America's
enemies to stage a bogus attack and the kidnapping of an American
ambassador so he could "negotiate" the release of a "hostage" and
bolster his mediocre approval ratings just prior to the election!
The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: "the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi... was the result of a bungled abduction attempt.... the first stage of an international prisoner exchange... that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the 'Blind Sheik'..."
But something went horribly wrong with Obama's "October Surprise." Although the Obama Administration intentionally gutted security at the consulate prior to the staged kidnapping, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed direct orders to stand down, saved American lives, single-handedly killed scores of attackers...and the attackers, believing that Obama had betrayed them, tortured Ambassador Chris Stevens and dragged his body through the streets.
Some will say that Admiral Lyons' accusation is not a smoking gun. We agree; that's exactly why Congress must investigate Benghazi-gate.
Moreover, we firmly believe the problem with Admiral Lyons' assertion is that he is only scratching the surface; the full and complete truth may be much, much worse.
Benghazi-gate is not about a bogus YouTube video series of lies. It's not about the Obama Administration's foreign policy ineptitude. We are dealing with something much more sinister... something potentially treasonous... and the following questions, posed in an article in The New American, go to the heart of the matter:
1. "What was the Obama administration's full role in helping violent Jihadists, self-styled al Qaeda terrorists, and Western-backed "revolutionaries" take over Libya in the first place?
2. Did that half-baked scheme to arm Jihadist leaders, who... had previously fought U.S. troops in Iraq, contribute to the attack, as countless experts and officials have suggested?
3. What was actually going on at the compound in Benghazi, which, as the report states, was never a "consulate" despite establishment media claims?
4. Was Ambassador Stevens recruiting and arming Jihadists and terrorists to wage war on the Syrian regime after what Obama called the "success" in Libya, as a growing body of credible evidence suggests?
5. Why did the administration claim for so long that the attack was just a "protest" over a YouTube video gone awry, even when it knew definitively that was not the case?
6. Was the lack of security at the compound a political ploy to conceal the extent of the lawlessness and utter chaos left in the wake of Obama's unconstitutional "regime change" war on Libya, as even members of Congress have alleged?"
It's clear. Benghazi-Gate is only a small piece of a much larger operation, an attempt to conceal what The New American calls "the Obama administration's full role in helping violent Jihadists and self-styled al Qaeda terrorists."
Prior to the election Barack Obama continually told us that "Osama bin-Laden is dead and GM is alive"; but the sad truth is that Osama bin-Laden's organization is alive and well, and the Obama Regime may be giving aid and comfort to this terrorist network.
And prior to the election, Fox News' Geraldo Rivera pontificated that Republicans shouldn't "politicize" Benghazi-gate. Swaggering onto the set of Fox and Friends, Rivera bloviated: "I think we have to stop this politicizing." And Rivera issued the following veiled warning to Republicans: "Do we want to try and influence the election with a tragedy that happened in North Africa?"
Ironic, isn't it? Barack Obama played politics with the lives of Americans; like Rivera, the media covered Obama's rear and threatened to accuse anyone and everyone who mentioned it of "playing politics."
