Woodward: Benghazi Scandal Reminds Me of Watergate
Bob Woodward, who helped break the Watergate scandal as a Washington Post reporter in the early 1970s, sees a similarity between those events and the Benghazi scandal now embroiling the Obama administration.
He pointed to White House laundering of its talking points after last year's attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
"I have to go back 40 years to Watergate, when Nixon put out his edited transcripts of the conversations, and he personally went through them and said, Let's not tell this, let's not show this,'" the political author told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program.
"I would not dismiss Benghazi. It's a very serious issue. As people keep saying, four people were killed."

SWAT team rammed wrong man’s car, lawsuit alleges
Via avordvet
Driving in the early morning hours to his job at a metal shop in Buda, Miguel Montanez at first thought the approaching lights were a school bus or a tow truck.
But Montanez says it was a Hays County SWAT truck that rammed his car head-on. As they collided, another police vehicle pinned him from behind, he says.
He heard a shot.
“I saw my windshield crack, and I ducked down as low as possible,” Montanez said. “I really thought I was going to die.”
Seconds later, he says, three deputies were pointing assault rifles at him. “That’s when I heard one of the officers say, ‘Oh, (expletive), we got the wrong guy,’ ” Montanez said.

Russia Issues “All-Out War” Alert Over Syria
Via Mike
A grim report issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on the just concluded Arctic Council meeting between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his American counterpart US Secretary of State John Kerry is warning today that President Putin has ordered Russian military forces to “immediately move” from Local War to Regional War operational status and to be “fully prepared” to expand to Large-Scale War should either the US or EU enter into the Syria Civil War.
According to the Mission and Objectives of the Russian Armed Forces, a Large-Scale War means:
“A war between coalitions of countries or larger world powers. It can be precipitated by escalation of an armed conflict, local or regional war by way of a significant number of countries from different world regions being effectively involved. In a large-scale war, the warring sides would pursue radical military and political goals. It would require that participating countries mobilize all of their available material resources and moral courage.”
Starkly underlining Russia’s position over Syria to the Americans, Foreign Minister Lavrov further stated yesterday that Syria is not a bargaining chip in relations with the West and said:

Disabled Veterans Have Checks Stolen By IRS
Recently, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has come under attack for malicious treatment of certain U.S. citizens and groups by singling them out based upon their personal political preferences.
At this time, it is still unclear where the direct orders came from to initiate such heinous activities, but what is crystal clear is that this type of activity is not new for the IRS.
The IRS has mastered the art of breaking their own laws, one case in particular; using banks to launder and then steal disabled veterans’ disability checks.
The Veterans Disability Act of 2010 is a Federal law which exempts VA disability from withholding of any sort. Actually, existing code USC, Title 38, §5301 already protected VA disability from withholding, but this provision was re-iterated and included in the newer legislation of 2010, because too many civil court judges were legislating from the bench and including veterans’ disability monies as earned income and granting it to ex-spouses (men and women) in divorce proceedings, at times, leaving disabled veterans without any safety net for self-care.
However, the IRS is still figuring out ways to get to a veteran’s disability money. How do I know?
Recently, it happened to me.

Camp Identitaire Xème édition - Génération Identitaire
Via SF Medic
Set in the Orleans from 12 to 18 August 2012, bringing together 70 participants, the 10th Youth Summer Camp identity was a success. Despite the complications and multiple pressures, the camp came to launch a very beautiful year-anniversary of 10 years of identity movement way.
For the first time this year, conferences and workshops were driven exclusively by executives and went through summer camps activists and dedicated school identity formation as well as the reality of our activist community. Because it is now a third generation of activists that the torch of youth identity has been sent.
Projects and ambitions of this Generation Identitaire were presented to all attendees of the Day conclude from this great week with many interventions, sports and cultural activities, and even an acoustic concert at the end of the day.
Tenth Summer youth identity but the first held under a socialist government camp this week has been marked by political and media frenzy unprecedented (delusional press the far left, obligingly relayed by local media).
Sign of the times and strong symbol: while the prefecture mobilized dozens of policemen to monitor and harass Day participants closing the boxing club and a bar-tobacco were burned in the nearby town of Gien ...
The socialist government seems to have chosen to appoint us as their enemies, the Generation Identitaire not disappoint!

$1 million in jewels stolen near Cannes film fest
Suspected thieves ripped out a small safe from the wall of a hotel room near the Cannes Film Festival and made off with about $1 million worth of jewelry inside, a French police official said Friday.
Cmdr. Bernard Mascarelli, a judicial police spokesman in the nearby city of Nice, said the robbery at the Novotel hotel overnight took place in the room of a representative of Swiss-based watch and jewelry maker Chopard.
The crime occurred just hours after the screening at Cannes of a film, based on a true story, about teens who broke into the homes of stars in Los Angeles to swipe designer bags, shoes and clothes from their homes.
The jewelry was "very probably" in the hotel in connection with the festival, Mascarelli said, though he didn't know who it might have been intended for. Chopard is a festival sponsor and has loaned jewelry to A-list stars who walk up the festival's famed red carpet under the rapid-fire flashes of photographers' cameras. This year model Carla Devigne and actress Julianne Moore have walked the carpet in Chopard gems.
Mascarelli said he didn't know the exact type of jewels taken or their exact value.
"Numbers have been put forward that we're still trying to verify, but the figure of $1 million ... we're in that range," he said.
Jean-Michel Caillau, the prosecutor in nearby Grasse who is leading an investigation, said early estimates were that the loot could have been worth as much as $1.4 million. He also said the theft appeared to have taken place around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
