1965 Dodge Powerwagon: Unbelievable

I had a '68 in Vietnam. A White Mouse tried to pull me over when I had two girls in the front seat once, but I kept going and he kept blowing his whistle, but I won out.:)

Gun Control: NJ Citizen testimony cut off; Chairman sits during Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance should be to the Constitution, not the flag.  Our Founders would be horrified that we pledge to the flag.

Hofstra Student in Home Invasion Was Killed by Police Gunshot: Officials

Hofstra Student Was Killed by Police Gunshot: Officials

Just doing our job.

The 21-year-old Hofstra student who was killed during a Long Island home invasion was shot dead by a police officer as the gunman had her in a headlock and was trying to drag her out of the house, officials said Saturday.

Nassau County Police said at a news conference Andrea Rebello was killed by police, not by the armed gunman who was trying to rob the off-campus house where she was living with her twin sister, Jessica, and several others.

Rebello, a Hofstra junior studying public relations, and suspect Dalton Smith, 30, were both shot and killed as he was trying to back away from police with a gun to her head, police said.

An officer fired eight rounds, seven of which hit the suspect and one that hit Rebello in the head, police said.

Police said the officer that fired the fatal shots is a former NYPD cop who has been with the Nassau department for 12 years.

The Socialists/Communists on the Oversight Committee and House of Representatives

 tumblr_m6gcv1vzem1rwtleeo1_500

Now this is one story no reporter anywhere will even consider much less write about it. But we as a nation must and should question why in the world do we elect people whose very ideology does not fit the very Constitution they took an oath to “…preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States”, yet the “Progressive Caucus, Socialist, and very Anti-United States”, hold 9 positions on the House Oversight Committee out of the 17 total positions and the “Ranking” member, Rep. Ellijah Cummings, is also a proud member of the “Socialist Party of America. What is the Democratic Socialist Party of the United States and just what do they believe in? Check out how they explain their position below.

“Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.”

Just how can a “Free” society operate if no one can make money or make a profit due to the ideology of the Socialist?

Obama Administration Knew of IRS Probe During 2012 Campaign

Senior Treasury officials were made aware in June 2012 that investigators were looking into complaints from tea party groups that they were being harassed by the Internal Revenue Service, a Treasury inspector general said, disclosing that Obama administration officials knew there was a probe during the heat of the presidential campaign.

J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, testifying alongside ousted IRS head Steven Miller on Friday, said he had told the department's general counsel about his investigation on June 4, 2012, and Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin "shortly thereafter."

But, George cautioned, those discussions were "not to inform them of the results of the audit. It was to inform them of the fact that we were conducting the audit."

After the hearing, inspector general spokeswoman Karen Kraushaar said George "informed Department of Treasury officials that we were looking into the IRS' handling of applications for tax-exempt status, partly due to allegations raised by conservative organizations."

Kraushaar said the disclosure was part of a routine briefing about the office's activities.

The Treasury Department issued a statement Friday saying officials first became aware of the actual results of the investigation in March of this year, when they were provided a draft of George's report, a standard practice.

The Facts…Legal Ramifications and Consequences of the Armed March on DC

Written by Julia Seiben  /  On July 4, 2013 a fully armed and loaded march lead by a certain person in question, Adam Kokesh has been planned.  One must first note this march is not sanctioned nor backed by The Oathkeepers, The Tea Party, The Republican Party, NRA, or any legitimate Constitutional Organization or party.

One MUST understand this action is undermining the hard work of all Patriots to safeguard our 2nd Amendment.  In Kokesh’s own words, this is not an anti-gun law march; it is a march to challenge what he deems as an illegitimate government.   Obama and his administration have finally been put on the defense, and stumbling about to deflect the public’s eyes upon their illegal actions.  We do not need to provide them with an illegal march to bring the distractions they are praying for.

I wish to address certain questions concerning the organizer of the march as well as the legal truths of the matter and ramifications of anyone participating.

Question:

“Are Adam Charles Kokesh claims of being a United States Marine Corps. Vet who holds the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and served active combat duty in Fallujah true?”

Rosenheim’s latest labor of love is a major exhibition on Civil War photography. One of his aims was to give equal time to imagery from the North and the South. (His great-great-grandfather came from Selma, Alabama, and fought for the Confederacy.) “

====================

There’s an embarrassment of photographic riches on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the moment:

After Photoshop: Manipulated Photography in the Digital Age; At War with the Obvious: Photographs by William Eggleston; Street by James Nares; and Photography and the Civil War.

The fact that photography has such a large footprint at the Met is due in no small part to the influence of Jeff L. Rosenheim, now in his 25th year as a curator there.

Rosenheim was hired by Maria Morris Hambourg to work in what was then the Department of Prints and Photographs, which later became the Department of Photographs. “We’ve seen a lot of changes over 25 years,” he adds, “but there is something about the photograph that continues to be relevant.”

Governor Pence Pauses Indiana Common Core Standards

Via avordvet

 Stacy Revere/ZUMApress/Newscom

Indiana has just given every state that agreed to adopt Common Core national education standards and tests a lesson in prudent governance. On Saturday, Governor Mike Pence (R) signed the Common Core “Pause” bill into law, halting implementation of Common Core until state agencies, teachers, and taxpayers better understand the implications of Common Core adoption.

Indiana law now requires that the Common Core standards be evaluated and compared to existing state standards, and that a cost assessment be conducted by the state’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) before implementation moves forward. It’s something every state that adopted Common Core should have done before agreeing to do so. Specifically, the law states that
after May 15, 2013, the state board may take no further actions to implement as standards for the state or direct the department to implement any common core standards developed by the Common Core State Standards Initiative until the state board conducts a comprehensive evaluation of the common core standards.

'We could lose everything': Tea Party groups prepare to sue IRS & IRS 'knocked tea party off its mission'

 teaparty_freedomworks

Jay Devereaux hadn’t paid much attention to the daily drumbeat of partisan politics in D.C. He wasn’t a Washington nerd, and didn’t know who said what during congressional hearings -- nor did he care.

But when news broke that the government was using taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street banks, he started paying attention and didn’t like what he was hearing.

So the Florida father and information technology specialist decided to form a group, Unite in Action, to educate people in his area about the issues, he said. It was originally formed as a corporation before Devereaux decided to apply for tax-exempt status from the IRS.

That was two years ago. It was never approved.

“It’s all but killed us,” Devereaux told FoxNews.com. “We could lose everything. Today, it’s me and my organization, but tomorrow it could be you.”

Devereaux is among a group of activists, being represented by the American Center for Law and Justice, who are preparing to sue the federal government for the practice of targeting Tea Party groups. ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow told FoxNews.com he'll likely file the civil suits next Wednesday or Thursday on behalf of more than a dozen Tea Party groups who say they were singled out by the IRS and had their tax-exempt status severely delayed or denied altogether.

Thomas Pickering, Benghazi probe co-chair, subpoenaed by House panel

The chairman of the House Oversight committee has issued a subpoena to compel the co-chairman of the independent review board that investigated last year's attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, to answer questions about its findings in closed session.

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa issued the subpoena on Friday to retired veteran diplomat Thomas Pickering to force him to appear at a deposition next Thursday.

Pickering has offered to testify before Issa's committee in public, but Issa said a closed-door meeting is needed first.

CBS News: Benghazi Counterterrorism Response Team "Ruled Out From The Start"

We have traitors in the WH.

CBS News' Sharyl Attkisson -- last heard from explaining that although her bosses have been supportive of her Benghazi reporting, her network's shows and producers don't seem interested -- has chased down another major scoop.  This time, she quotes unnamed White House officials admitting that administration leaders determined they would not deploy a counterterror response team to Benghazi from the get-go:

The Foreign Emergency Support Team known as "FEST" is described as "the US Government's only interagency, on-call, short-notice team poised to respond to terrorist incidents worldwide." It even boasts hostage-negotiating expertise. With U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens reported missing shortly after the Benghazi attacks began, Washington officials were operating under a possible hostage scenario at the outset. Yet deployment of the counterterrorism experts on the FEST was ruled out from the start. That decision became a source of great internal dissent and the cause of puzzlement to some outsiders.

Thursday, an administration official who was part of the Benghazi response told CBS News: "I wish we'd sent it." The official said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's deputy, Patrick Kennedy, quickly dispensed with the idea. A senior State Department official Thursday told CBS News, "Under Secretary Kennedy is not in the decision chain on FEST deployment" but would not directly confirm whether Kennedy or somebody else dismissed the FEST.  [FEST leader] leader Mark Thompson says Benghazi was precisely the sort of crisis to which his team is trained to respond. While it was the State Department that's said to have taken FEST off the table, the team is directed by the White House National Security Council.
So someone high up in the administration decided "from the start" that a FEST crew wouldn't be sent to Benghazi, even though the team's leader says his group was designed to handle exactly that sort of emergency.

Government is bad for personal freedom. That argument is premised upon the truism that everything government does interferes with freedom because it either prohibits or compels. Everything it owns it has taken from others. Much of what it says is divorced from the truth. President Obama, like President George W. Bush, has argued that his first job is to keep America safe, and if he impairs personal freedom in the process, that is a small price to pay for safety. Many of my colleagues in the media on the left and right have bought this argument, notwithstanding its fallacies.

Until now.

This past week, we learned that the IRS has targeted for additional scrutiny the tax exemption applications of groups with whose messages it disagrees. We also learned that the Department of Justice obtained the personal telephone records of hundreds of reporters and editors employed by the Associated Press without a search warrant issued by a judge. And during this past week we learned that the White House, the Department of State and the CIA all engaged in a conspiracy of disinformation so that the official version of events of what caused the murders of four Americans at our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, would not impair Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012.

The common threads in all of this government secrecy and lying are a general rejection of government’s moral obligation to tell the truth, a disturbing yet brazen willingness to evade and avoid the restrictions the Constitution has deliberately built around government, and a glib admission that the government can do as it pleases so long as it can politically get away with it.

The Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause requires that the government treat all similarly situated entities in a similar manner. The Constitution’s First Amendment prohibits the government from using the speech and expressive activities of persons in America as a basis for the disparate treatment of them.

Thus, on its face – that is, on the basis of what the IRS has admitted and without any further investigation – we have violations of these constitutional principles.
