Report: Obama's Perkins Coie Client Of Arpaio's Forgery Expert; Afraid For His Life

Obama's Perkins Coie is a client of Arpaio's expert,  Reed Hayes, who says Obama's BC is forged

On June 1, 2013 Joe Arpaio's Cold Case Posse lead investigator, Mike Zullo, revealed for the first time that Reed Hayes of Hawaii is the Certified Document Examiner (CDE) who produced the 40 page opinion referenced in an Alabama court affidavit concluding that Obama's White House pdf birth certificate image was completely fabricated.

Obots (FogBlowers) have rushed to denounce Reed Hayes as a "quack" but might be surprised to find that one of Hayes' clients listed in the Expert Witness Directory at the thread link is an attorney with Perkins Coie. That is the law firm whose partners have provided Obama's personal defense against all birth certificate and natural born citizen litigation over the past five years.

Why did editorial exalt the Yankees?

VERBATIM

I spent some time this Memorial Day at the Confederate Cemetery in Fredericksburg. It was a glorious, bluebird day. The numerous spectators, by their respectful attention to the solemnity of the occasion, saluted the rows of Confederate battle flags that--at parade rest--flapped soothingly in the gentle breeze, as if caressing the tombstones of the stalwart soldiers by which they were lovingly placed.

While walking back to my car I stopped by a newspaper vending machine alongside the Free Lance-Star building to purchase that day's paper. When I got back to my farm I read the editorial on Memorial Day that your paper runs annually and thought how incongruous it was [" Memorial Day," May 27].

The editorial exemplified the amnesia and misplaced affection that permeates much of our beloved commonwealth. Rather than memorialize the vision of The Ladies' Memorial Association (organized on May 10, 1866) that was established for the sole purpose of honoring and caring for the graves of Confederate soldiers in Fredericksburg, or that of similar patriotic organizations in Petersburg and Richmond, the paper chose to single out Waterloo, New York, which did likewise later for Union soldiers. The editorial also highlighted the Grand Army of the Potomac, rather than our Army of Northern Virginia.

In short, the paper honored those who sacked Fredericksburg and represented the pernicious philosophy of a coercive union.

That editorial needs to be retired unceremoniously.

1898 Wilmington Race Riots - Debunking The Myths

Re-post

Armed black residents fire upon white marchers at 4th and Harnett Streets, thus beginning the violent exchange.

See "The Trial of Thomas Lane" on the Aftermath page. Lane, a black resident of Wilmington, was tried for firing into the Wilmington Light Infantry troops who restored order during the Nov., 1898 conflict.

"The black youngster, Knight, testified that he was in the park
when the trouble occurred; that he heard a pistol shot, saw Thomas Lane run around the house and throw his pistol under the building. At the same time Lane told Knight that he had "gotten one of the damned rascals."  Meaning that he had killed one of the Light Infantry boys."

Georgia Community Activist Rebecca
Felton Calls For Lynching of Rapists:
"Republicans, must find a means to stop the crime that
invites lynching by the ignorant and malicious of your
supporters, or you cannot escape the responsibility
for their actions.
[Republicans] encouraged the ignorant Negroes in thinking that the success of the party…insures him against the just penalty of his wrongdoing.”
Rebecca Felton
The editorial of black Wilmington newspaperman Alexander Manly which claimed that the rape of white farm women by blacks was "consensual," sparked the drive for responsible government in Wilmington in November 1898 and ridding the city of those provoking racial hostility.
Black Collector of Customs John C. Dancy placed the blame for racial violence on Manly's incessant demagoguery and incendiary editorials, referring publicly to Manly as "the determing factor" in bringing about the riot.

Manly was responding to is related below)

NC: Two state troopers choose busy weekend for Ocracoke patrol, get vehicles vandalized

Via NC Links

Ocracoke Island was in an uproar over the weekend when two state troopers made their presence known during a big tourist weekend that ended with the patrolmen’s cars getting vandalized.

Troopers from Troop A, District 4 in Washington (Beaufort County) arrived on the island Wednesday and left Saturday morning, First Sgt. Brandon Craft said today.

Over the weekend, 59 citations were issued, including 32 for not wearing seat belts and five for driving while impaired, Craft said.   Eighteen warnings were given, and only warnings were given for bicycle infractions, such as riding at night without a light.

Early Saturday morning, the troopers’ cars were vandalized. One car had a cinder block thrown through the back window and the other had paint splashed all over it, Craft confirmed.

Two weeks after state troopers were on Ocracoke during the Ocracoke Island Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament and passed out 59 tickets and 18 warnings, rumors are still circulating about the events of that weekend.

Uniformly, islanders do not condone the vandalism of the two troopers’ cars early Saturday morning of that weekend and several have suggested that the sooner folks stop talking about the whole thing and try to heal the divide, the better.

Nor do islanders condone driving while impaired from whatever substance, but many were startled about having been stopped and questioned for seemingly minor — though still unlawful — infractions.  More than a few islanders were stopped twice for various infractions.

“I don’t have a problem with the state troopers ticketing anyone who deserves a ticket, however, some of the motorists who were stopped felt more victimized than protected,” observed Leslie Monticone, whose comment was echoed by many.

“Overzealous” is the term that has been heard frequently these last two weeks.

Nevertheless, First Sergeant Brandon Craft of Troop A, District 4 in Washington (Beaufort County), in a previous interview, said that often a small infraction, such as a seat belt violation, leads to a drunk-driving arrest.

“We get paid to be nosy,” he said.  “As uncomfortable as it is, that’s what we get paid to do. I will do everything I can to arrest drunk drivers.”

Ocracoke Island has historically had visits from the troopers on Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day weekends.

Islanders weren’t sure about whether the state police had visited before on the weekend of the annual surf-fishing tournament the first weekend in May, which is the first big tourist weekend of the season. It includes 70 teams of six fishermen who pay hundreds of dollars each to participate, as well as spending for lodging and food. Proceeds from the tournament are donated to several nonprofits on the island.

*“Half of my tables that weekend had gotten pulled over,” observed an island server who declined to be identified.
*Uncalled for.BT

One of the tournament board members, Patty Plyler, is still upset about what she perceived as the troopers looking for anything to pull people over.

“It ruined the fishing tournament, and I’m just furious about it,” she said recently. “It wasn’t even about the alcohol. All the people that week were feeling harassed and stressed and that’s no way to spend a vacation.”

Mostly, it was just one more thing—along with fighting ferry tolls, compromised ferry service from Hatteras, more trouble with overwash on Highway 12, and fighting the gamefish bill—that Ocracokers have been stressed about since 2011.

Provision in Senate budget proposes that state try to acquire Oregon Inlet

A provision in the proposed state Senate budget that would consider options to acquire Oregon Inlet was a surprise to officials at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, the owner of the waterway’s submerged land and much of the adjacent property.

“We have not had conversations with anybody at all about acquiring Oregon Inlet,” said Darrell Echols, deputy superintendent of the National Park Service Outer Banks Group. “This is news to us.”

Released on Monday, the $20.58 billion spending plan was passed tentatively by the state Senate on Wednesday, according to a prepared statement from Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, R-Rockingham.

“I’m proud of the Senate’s commitment to delivering budgets,” Berger said, “that reasonably and responsibly direct available resources toward real needs.”

The bill provides for the creation of a 13-member Oregon Inlet Land Acquisition Task Force to determine, review, and consider ways to have the inlet and its adjacent real estate transferred from the federal government to the state.

“Acquiring the property  . . . will allow the state to preserve Oregon Inlet and to develop long-term management solutions for preserving and enhancing the navigability of Oregon Inlet,” the bill said, “which is both a critical transportation corridor and a critical source of commerce for the state’s Outer Banks.”

The task force would be charged with consulting with the state property office, relevant federal agencies, and the North Carolina congressional delegation “to establish the monetary value” of the inlet and the surrounding property. It would also be responsible for determining whether the federal government would be willing to sell or exchange the inlet for state-owned property.

Finally, the task force would explore any options for the acquisition, including “condemnation of the coastal lands conveyed to the federal government in a deed dated August 7, 1958” that are listed by longitude and latitude at the end of the section.

Senate Aide: Rubio 'Trying to Get Out of the Gang of Eight'

Via avordvet

As I mentioned elsewhere, he must have wet his  finger and stuck it in the air.

A high-ranking senate aide told Breitbart News on Wednesday that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is searching for an escape hatch from the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill.

“Rubio and his staff are trying to get out of the Gang of Eight,” the aide said. “They’re looking to use other Republican members as their parachute to get out.”

Rubio has laid some of the groundwork toward walking away from the Gang of Eight already, but has not made a public move towards doing so. On Monday, he said the bill does not have the 60 votes required to pass it out of the Senate. Then on Tuesday Rubio said he would not vote for the legislation in its current form as it would not effectively secure the border.

Would Open Carry of Handguns Make You Feel Safer?

Via avordvet

Open Carry of handguns in public

 A few days ago we asked if you would feel safe going into a business that had a sign that read “Guns are welcome on premises, please keep all weapons holstered unless need arises. In such a case judicious marksmanship is appreciated.”

1,524 of you replied and the comments below are representative of what most of you had to say about this issue:
  • BEST COMMENT – Here’s the thing with the people who believe it would be unsafe. In most states to carry a holstered gun in public, they must pass an extensive class of shooting accuracy, defensive shooting, and proper safety. Yes I’m sure there are people that haven’t gone through this, but these are the people who have a reason for not being legal. Your belief on gun control is your belief but I will say that in the properly trained hand a situation that involves an intruder can be controlled quicker than the police are able to get there.
  •
  • BEST COMMENT – How about a sign at school’s “Faculty/staff/administrators are carrying firearms and are trained to use if the need arises”? I’m for it.
  •
  • BEST COMMENT – I’m a teacher (33 years) and I would LOVE to have a gun in my room. I have a right to protect my students without endangering myself. I have a family, too!
    If I’m on one side of the room with a gun & my students are on the other side, the gunman would pay attention to me, not them.

Al Qaeda weapons expert: U.S. ambassador to Libya killed by lethal injection

Via avordvet

An al Qaeda terrorist stated in a recent online posting that U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens was killed by lethal injection after plans to kidnap him during the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi went bad.

The veracity of the claim by Abdallah Dhu-al-Bajadin, who was identified by U.S. officials as a weapons expert for al Qaeda, could not be determined. However, U.S. officials have not dismissed the terrorist’s assertion.

An FBI spokeswoman indicated that the bureau is aware of the claim but declined to comment because of the ongoing investigation into the Benghazi attacks.

“While there is a great deal of information in the media and on the Internet about the attack in Benghazi, the FBI is not in a position at this time to comment on anything specific with regard to the investigation,” spokeswoman Kathy Wright said.

A State Department spokesman had no comment.

HIGH SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN STUNS AUDIENCE AFTER HE RIPS UP SPEECH AND DELIVERS THE LORD'S PRAYER INSTEAD

Via WiscoDave

A school district under pressure to keep prayer out of meetings and gatherings got an unexpected delivery from one high school valedictorian

Saturday, at Clemson's Littlejohn Coliseum, Liberty High Valedictorian Roy Costner IV took his speech to the podium, and in front of the crowd, tore it up.

John Eby, Pickens County School District spokesman, said, "They write their speeches. They send them to someone on staff to have them approved."

But Costner clearly had something else in mind.

FBI hunts for U.S. Marine kidnapped with relatives at Mexican ranch

The FBI is searching for a U.S. Marine reservist who served in Iraq, his father and uncle after they were kidnapped at a ranch in Mexico last month, authorities said on Tuesday.

The FBI has asked for the public's help to locate U.S. Marine Armando Torres III, who was taken with his father Armando Torres II and his uncle Salvador Torres on May 14 in La Barranca, Mexico, near the southern tip of Texas.

The FBI says it is working with Mexican law enforcement agencies to locate Torres, a U.S. citizen, and the two older men, who are both Mexican citizens.

Investigators in Mexico say a property dispute over the partial sale of the ranch may have triggered the kidnapping.

Armando Torres III drove into Mexico on May 14 to visit his father's ranch, the FBI said in a statement. Shortly after his arrival, gunmen entered the property and kidnapped the three Torres men, who have not been heard from since.

Bombshell: 'Proof' IRS committed felony

A witness at a congressional hearing today on IRS targeting of conservative organizations claims he has proof the agency illegally leaked confidential information.

 “I would call the disclosure of our donor lists by the IRS a felony,” charged John Eastman, chairman of the National Organization for Marriage, or NOM, in Washington, D.C., in emotionally charged testimony Tuesday before the House Ways and Means Committee.

Eastman testified that the organization’s IRS Form 990 tax return, which lists its donors, was published on the website of the Human Rights Campaign, a “gay-rights” advocacy group.

He claimed to have proof the IRS leaked his organization’s confidential donor list under questioning by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

Eastman said “forensic” specialists within his organization had stripped layers from the document posted on the HRC website to identify “meta-data,” or unseen embedded code, that identified the document as having originated from within the IRS.

PETITION URGING CONGRESS TO IMPEACH PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: 82,832 HAVE SIGNED

PETITION URGENTLY REQUESTING THAT CONGRESS LAUNCH AN INDEPENDENT AND COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION INTO UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND IMPEACHABLE OFFENSES ON THE PART OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

To: All members of the U.S. Congress:

Whereas, President Barack Obama not only failed to aid U.S. personnel under lethal and prolonged terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012, resulting in the deaths of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, but also led an outrageously deceitful cover-up for weeks afterward, rivaling the Watergate-era cover-up that ended the presidency of Richard Nixon;

Whereas, the IRS under Obama – in accord with direct instructions from congressional Democrats – has engaged in the most egregious and widespread attack on conservative groups in modern history, with the knowledge of top agency officials;

Whereas, the Obama Justice Department, on top of its many first-term scandals, has spied on and harassed journalists at Fox News and the Associated Press, prompting widespread, bipartisan condemnation of the DOJ for “criminalizing journalism”;

Whereas, top constitutional attorneys from across the political spectrum now agree that Obama has committed certain specific offenses that unquestionably rise to the level of impeachable “high crimes and misdemeanors”;

Whereas, one of these offenses – that of illegally conducting war against Libya – has been deemed by a bipartisan panel of constitutional experts to be “clearly an impeachable offense” and “gross usurpation of the war power”;

Whereas, Obama’s policy of targeted assassinations of U.S. citizens without any constitutionally required due process – including the drone assassination of an American-born 16-year-old as he was eating dinner – is unanimously deemed by experts, both liberal and conservative, as “an impeachable offense”;

Whereas, Obama’s Justice Department has presided over the disastrous “Fast and Furious” operation in which approximately 2,000 firearms were directed from U.S. gun shops across the U.S.-Mexico border and into the hands of members of Mexican drug cartels, resulting in the deaths of as many as 100 people, including U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry – a scandal that constitutional experts agree constitutes, at a minimum, clear grounds for impeaching Attorney General Eric Holder;

Whereas, Obama has – in clear-cut violation of his oath to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed” imposed by Article II of the Constitution – refused to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, which was passed into law in 1996 under President Bill Clinton;

Whereas, Obama usurped the authority of Congress by issuing an executive order in June 2012 declaring that illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. before they turned 16 and who are younger than 30 would not be deported – essentially duplicating the DREAM Act which failed to pass in Congress;

Whereas, Obama made several recess appointments in January 2012 while the Senate was still officially in session, actions the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit recently ruled violated the Constitution because they weren’t made when the Senate was in recess;

Whereas, numerous other constitutional outrages characterize Obama's presidency – from his administration’s abuses of citizens’ civil rights under cover of the PATRIOT Act; to the Obama Justice Department’s refusal to prosecute the worst case of voter intimidation in modern times, perpetrated by club-wielding New Black Panthers; to Obama’s appointment of more than 30 unelected “czars” to positions in federal agencies when the Constitution requires such appointments be vetted by Congress; and other instances of clear contempt for Congress, the Constitution and the American people:

SIGN THE PETITION

Therefore, we the undersigned urge Congress to immediately undertake a full and impartial investigation into the many blatantly unconstitutional actions of Barack Obama. For members of Congress, each of whom has also sworn a solemn oath to uphold the Constitution, to allow a president to routinely flout the Supreme Law of the Land without being held accountable is equally repugnant to a free country and a free people.

Austerity Myth

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN8z3cWTt5y9HTPm2T1GJZEWIWw9UN1tlhLTgbbajcdTcURaTPeuGJ3ty9JZlcqT8bdBOACs9p_zlPdHqiFI3LUeO2CB6PAAv6a7m44OwiVyKCa0Zw-3YCh6msM5NPiR5NbUGF5nfsUjgg/s1600/European+Government+Spending.png

Europe's struggles prove that "austerity" fails!

So say the Big Spenders.

With a condescending sigh, they explain that Europe made deep cuts in government spending, and the result was today's high unemployment. "With erstwhile middle-class workers reduced to picking through garbage in search of food, austerity has already gone too far," writes Paul Krugman in The New York Times.

One problem with this conclusion: European governments didn't  cut! If workers pick through garbage, cuts can't be a reason, since they didn't happen.

That doesn't stop leftists from complaining about cuts or stop Europeans from protesting announced austerity plans. But if austerity means spending less, that hasn't happened.

Some European countries tried to reduce deficits by raising taxes. England slapped a 25 percent tax increase on the wealthy, but it didn't bring in the revenues hoped for. Rich people move their assets elsewhere, or just stop working as much.

If politicians honestly want to boost their nation's economies, they should look to what happened in countries that bounced back from economic slumps.

Iceland was hit by bank collapses -- but government ignored street protests and cut real spending.

Iceland's budget deficit fell from 13 percent of gross domestic product to 3. Iceland's economy is now growing.

Chief Master Sgt. Duane Hackney

Via Kevin

http://www.airforcemag.com/SiteCollectionImages/Magazine%20Article%20Images/2010/january%202010/heroism01.jpg
Chief Master Sgt. Duane Hackney was the first living enlisted recipient of the Air Force Cross during the Vietnam War. The three others before him were awarded the medal posthumously.

On Sept. 9, 1967, Sgt. Duane D. Hackney, a pararescue man in the Vietnam War, received the Air Force Cross for bravery, thereby becoming the first living enlisted man to receive the award. He placed his own parachute on the rescued pilot after their helicopter was hit by enemy fire. Hackney received the award for his actions, second only to the Medal of Honor. Hackney was the youngest person and the fourth enlisted member to receive the medal.

In June 1965, Duane Hackney graduated from Beecher High School in Flint, Mich. He was president of the senior council. He had lettered in football, baseball and swimming and had received an athletic scholarship offer. He was about to make a momentous decision -- to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. It was the first of several decisions that resulted in him becoming the one of the most decorated Airman in Air Force history.

His second decision was choosing a career field during career counseling sessions at basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He was searching for a career that would not only hold his interest for the next four years, but also fulfill his desire to be of genuine service to the nation and the Air Force. So he chose the shortest line -- the one that led to pararescue and more than 70 individual awards, including the Air Force Cross.

His next important decision was made after graduating from pararescue training. He was an honor graduate in every phase of the tough, year-long course and earned the right to pick his assignment. He turned down Bermuda and England and volunteered for Det. 7, 38th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron at Da Nang, Vietnam.

Boxer of Quirinal

Via Daily Timewaster

 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7a/Thermae_boxer_Massimo_Inv1055_n3.jpg

The bronze Boxer of Quirinal, also known as the Terme Boxer, is a Hellenistic Greek sculpture dated around 330 B.C. of a sitting boxer with Caestus, a type of leather hand-wrap, in the collection of the National Museum of Rome. It is one of the two unrelated bronzes (the other being the unidentified Hellenistic Ruler) discovered on the slopes of the Quirinal within a month of each other in 1885, possibly from the remains of the Baths of Constantine.

It appears that both had been carefully buried in antiquity. The statue is a masterpiece of Hellenistic athletic professionalism, with a top-heavy over-muscled torso and scarred face, cauliflower ears, broken nose, and a mouth suggesting broken teeth.
