A Belle's Eye View: Fight to re-assert states' rights continues

Historically, Vicksburg, Miss., has not been a good place to be in July.

I’m happy to report that things have changed. Last week was the Sons of Confederate Veterans’ 118th annual Reunion, and it was grand.

Vicksburg itself is a lovely town, full of history, good food and the very nicest folks. Mississippi, alas, does seem to have a problem with its roads, and I have never been tailgated so much in my life.

Mind you, I drive the speed limit or 5 miles per hour over it. I stay in the right-hand land unless passing, and still I had people trying to attach themselves to my bumper.

The Military Park is sobering, and not just because of the amount of headstones in the cemetery. It does give one pause to see the elaborate monuments of Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio and Michigan — and realize all those young men died attacking a people defending themselves against the invader.

Brain-dead McCain joins Obama in criticism of self defense laws

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., agreed with his former opponent, President Obama, that "stand your ground" laws need to be re-examined, nationally and in his home state."The 'stand your ground' law may be something that may need to be reviewed by the Florida legislature or any other legislature that has passed such legislation," McCain said on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday.

McCain praised comments made by President Obama following the George Zimmerman verdict about racial tensions that have been exposed by the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

"What I got out of the president's statement, which I thought was very impressive, is that we need to have more conversation in America," McCain said. "I need to talk to more of my Hispanic organizations in my state. I need to talk to more African-American organizations.

CIA Blocked Security Team Departure During Benghazi Attack

Via NC Renegade

 http://www.politifake.org/image/political/1210/their-blood-your-hands-battaile-politics-1350793480.jpg

The CIA “repeatedly blocked” the departure of a security team that was ready “within minutes” to respond to the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya that claimed the lives of four Americans, according to Rep. Frank Wolf (R., Va.)

Wolf revealed on the House floor on Monday that “trusted sources have confirmed” to his office “that the security team was ready to respond within minutes after receiving the initial call for help, but the CIA repeatedly blocked their departure for more than 30 minutes.”

Although this team “ultimately disobeyed orders,” it was “too late to save” Ambassador Chris Stevens and U.S. official Sean Smith, both of whom were murdered during a terror attack on the U.S. compound.

“Why was the CIA’s security team repeatedly ordered to ‘stand down’ for more than 30 minutes after the attack began?” asked Wolf, who has taken to the House floor each day over the past week to pose what he says are unanswered questions about the Benghazi attack.

The Other Verdict in the Trayvon Martin Trial

Via NC Renegade

After one day of deliberation, the jurors reached a verdict that was expected by the trial that has captured the nation's attention. Trayvon Martin was found guilty of murder in the first degree in the death of George Zimmerman. Mr. Martin had hoped to be tried as a minor since he was only 17 when he was arrested, but the death of Mr. Zimmerman by having his skull smashed repeatedly against a concrete pavement left the nation outraged. At first, there was little attention given to what was just another case of black on white crime. When the media found out the he was actually Hispanic,  a few local Florida affiliates picked up the story.

But the details released by the glory seeking Rachel Jeantel two months after the death, opened this case up for national attention as a hate crime. Mr. Martin's attack was predicated on the premise that Mr. Zimmerman was a homosexual who was stalking him. Once the scrutiny started, the facts about Mr. Martin painted a picture of a troubled youth who allegedly was in possession of stolen property, was in trouble at school and regularly used drugs. The admission in court that Mr. Martin used the drug concoction known as Lean (Skittles, Arizona Watermelon drink and Robitussin) will probably be used as a mitigating  factor in the sentencing phase of this trial. Lean is known to produce psychosis and aggressive behavior which would account for Mr. Martin's actions in this matter. The admission that he also used marijuana and had THC in his blood at the time of the murder will probably have little impact in his sentence.

This trial also will have national impact due to the nature of social media information that was used to determine the drug use in this case. It was initially thought that Rachel Jeantel may be called as a hostile witness but she was all too willing to give up her friend. The ruling by the judge on the 5th amendment and its application on Twitter in particular, may becomes grounds for an appeal.

George Washington mocked with gay joke at DC Trayvon rally [VIDEO]

Under the Beltway sun, protesters rallying on Saturday in support of Trayvon Martin laughed at a joke mocking the Father of our Country and gay people; laughter at least one progressive blogger tried to conceal.

During the mid-day Saturday vigil for Trayvon Martin in Washington, D.C., African-American comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory criticized the country’s majority support of same-sex marriage, making President George Washington the butt of the first joke in his speech.

“I’m talkin’ about ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’” said Gregory, “You can tell that to George Washington, with them tight silk pants he was wearin’, those high heeled shoes, ruffled shirt, a whig and some powder. So this been goin’ on for a long time [sic].”

Obama Voted to Strengthen Illinois' Stand Your Ground Law in 2004 - Will Media Care?

Via Blue

As NewsBusters has been reporting, it's been absolutely sick-making watching Obama-loving media members gush and fawn over the President's speech Friday concerning race, the George Zimmerman verdict, and Florida's Stand Your Ground law.

But will they report to the American people that as an Illinois state senator in 2004, Obama co-sponsored and voted for legislation strengthening his state's Stand Your Ground law?
Here's what President Obama said Friday:

Goodies from Ol' Remus

 ad-1925-Cadillac.jpg

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg If you count yourself among those who have been eagerly awaiting a reversal of the U.S. State Department's 2010 action blocking the planned importation of some 87,000 M1 Garand rifles and M1 Carbines from South Korea, relief may be on the way, says J. Absher in this article, Bill Takes Aim at Blocked M1 Garand Imports, at Shooting Illustrated.. . . . .

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg The state must be prepared to handcuff, arrest, detain, and incarcerate people for disobeying gun laws, most of whom have done no harm to anyone. If the person resists, the state resorts to lethal force. Take the state out of the question and you see the problematic violence inherent in gun control. Reasonable people would perhaps accept the moral defensibility of busting down someone's door to stop a rape or murder. Far fewer would defend breaking down someone's door just to take his guns away, says Anthony Gregory in this article, Gun Control Is Violence, at Future of Freedom Foundation.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg Americans are ruled by usurpers who claim that the executive branch is above the law and that the US Constitution is a mere "scrap of paper." The criminals who have seized illegitimate power in Washington cannot survive unless truth can be suppressed or redefined as treason, says Paul Roberts in this article, Coup d’etat.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg Test yourself on the century-old material and see if you think contemporary education is better, inadequate or just plain different, says Josie Hollingsworth in this article, Are you smarter than an (1912) 8th grader?, at Mother Nature Network.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg Zimmerman trial - The coverage was so craftedly witless and dishonest that it was easy to suspect a conspiracy. Stupidity beyond a certain point can only be a work of intelligence. It was certainly dangerous behavior. In the cities there are large black populations who get all their news from television. These can easily be incited to violence. The strategic brilliance of declaring war on those who grow your food and sign your checks might be lost on Sun Tzu, says Fred Reed in this article, Zimmerman, The Joy of Hopelessness, at Fred On Everything.

art-link-symbol-small-rev01.jpg FOIA Machine is a software solution to the nitty-gritty of submitting FOIA requests. Much in the same way that Turbo Tax offers a universal platform for navigating complex and varied state rules, FOIA Machine is a broad platform that can navigate the particular procedures of each state, as well as federal regulations, says Kelsey Atherton in this article, Free Software Tool Aims To Fight Government Secrecy, at Popular Science.

The first illegal act by either party was when Martin sucker punched Zimmerman. At that point, Martin became the aggressor, and Zimmerman had to defend himself... He chose to become the aggressor, and took on the risk that he could be killed. The arm chair tough guys can call Zimmerman a wuss all they want, but those are the facts... Martin got justice.  Had Martin even punched Zimmerman, then run home, he would be alive now.  Everything that happened to Martin happened because of decisions Martin made.

A substantial fraction of American Negroes is claiming, in effect, that when a white man kills a black man, the white man is guilty of murder regardless of any other considerations or contextual factors. The demand for such a departure from the ancient law of self-defense, specifically to favor Negroes, is a demand for a separate sovereignty demarcated by race.

Detroit - Forty-seven percent of adults are functionally illiterate, which is about the same rate as the Central African Republic, which at least has the excuse that it was ruled throughout the Seventies by a cannibal emperor. Why would any genuine innovator open a business in a Detroit "innovation hub"? Whom would you employ? The illiterates include a recent president of the school board, Otis Mathis.

Recall that the increasing use of police power is the consequence of a decline in legitimacy. Therefore we would expect that with less legitimacy there would be more surveillance, more cops, more propaganda. And that is exactly what one sees. Coercion and propaganda are being substituted for consent... That is why nobody seems to care about re-establishing faith in the justice system anymore. "Destroy it and deliver the pieces over to us" is more like it.

NC Guns: The clock to adjournment is ticking...IT IS TIME TO BRING THE HEAT!

While the gun rights of North Carolinians hang in the balance, Republican leadership can't stop playing political games. They are being manipulated by the competing misguided interests of the NC Sheriffs' Association (NCSA) and NRA.

The political angst has reached the level that Rep. Jacqueline Schaffer has begun emailing accusations that GRNC is spreading “inaccurate information”. GRNC President Paul Valone quickly responded:

As I just told your legislative assistant, Sharon, I would love to know what is "inaccurate" about our reporting. My understanding was that to close what you yourself have called the "arming felons loophole," sans repeal of all or part of the purchase permit statute, you suggested requiring NICS checks if purchase permits were older than 30 days. As we have said all along (and I have numerous positions issued to Republicans to this effect), punishing gun owners for the malfeasance of the North Carolina Sheriffs' Association is unacceptable to us. So please, tell me what is "inaccurate," before I am forced to report to 87,000 gun owners that it is actually you who is disseminating false information.“

It is time to stop the blame game and pandering to NCSA and NRA. These organizations didn't elect the Assembly. You did. Have they forgotten who they represent?

Apparently they need another reminder. GRNC has set-up a “Pass HB 937” petition at http://grnc.org/pass-h937 that will help the politicians focus on the issue. Sign it, and pass along the link to your friends.

The Assembly is set to adjourn this Friday. We only have a few more days to instill sense in both the Assembly and Governor McCrory and get this bill passed.

We have fought for years for this progress. Failure IS NOT AN OPTION!

George Zimmerman rescues family from truck crash last week, police say

George Zimmerman, who has not been seen publicly since his acquittal in the murder of Trayvon Martin earlier this month, surfaced last week to rescue an unidentified family trapped in an overturned vehicle on a Florida highway, police said Monday.

Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe told Fox News that Zimmerman, 29, was identified by a crash victim as the man who pulled him from the mangled vehicle.

“George Zimmerman pulled me out,” firefighters were told by the unidentified driver, according to McAuliffe.

Not in the Media: Roderick Scott found not guilty of manslaughter

The media exploitation of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin by a man who was defending himself – George Zimmerman – was a complete and total media circus driven by President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder in their attempt to divide and crush this country and destroy it from within.

That really is how I feel at this point. They must really hate this country. Why do I say this? Have you heard either Obama or Holder mention the self-defense shooting that happened in Rochester, N.Y. in April of 2009? It was during their administration after all. Why didn’t the main stream media pick up on this story? Why have we not heard from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton? The case did after all involve white and black males.

Rodrick Scott, a 42-year-old male, was charged with with manslaughter after shooting a 17-year-old to death. The teen – Chris Cervini – was breaking into a cars in Scott’s neighborhood with two other criminals. Scott confronted them with his gun drawn and two of the teens split, the other – Cervini – rushed at Scott. Although Scott forcefully told the would-be attacker to stop, he did not.

In fear for his life, Scott stopped the threat by shooting Cervini twice, killing him. Rodrick Scott was never touched by Cervini. From Rochester’s Your News Now website, and a story dated Dec. 15, 2009.

New Black Panther Party, Concealed Carry Counterprotesters Face Off in Houston

At one point there was a disagreement between the New Black Panther Party and fellow marchers from the Occupy movement. One of the Occupy protesters began marching in front of Quanell X, so a few Panthers asked the man to move--to let Quanell leadThe Occupy member said he didn't see why Quanell X had to be in the front.

At the end of the event, people recognized Breitbart News' Brandon Darby and asked him to hang himself and directed numerous slurs toward him. The police had to intervene to keep Darby safe from the crowd.

Another journalist asked a question: "Would this be happening if Trayvon were white?" Upon asking the question this journalist was surrounded by many in the "Justice for Trayvon" crowd, who began to chant, "go away KKK."

The protesters accosting Darby and the other journalist were members of Occupy, not the New Black Panther Party.

Update: 6:45 PM EST: After what seems to be two miles of marching there are at least 400 people--the majority of whom are black and there are members of anarchy groups in the mix as well. At one point in the march someone standing along the side of the road held up a sign that said people in hoodies weren't welcome in his neighborhood.

Quanell X saw the sign but did nothing. Moments later the man was almost captured by others marching with the New black Panther Party before he narrowly escaped behind police lines.
The Houston Police are doing a great job. The march has been peaceful to his point.

Jack Hunter resigns

& he got zilch for backing down. Nothing wrong with his statement at all.

“The sadistic policies and tactics of Abraham Lincoln destroyed the America of the Founding Fathers,” said Hunter in one track. “And as I gaze at the picture on my wall of my great-grandfather, who fought bravely against that sick bearded bastard, I still dream of what could have been—our glorious Confederate States of America. When the Southern Avenger sees a five-dollar bill, he sees Hitler.”

“The reason we Southerners remember the war is because it does matter—just like slavery, just like the Holocaust,” Hunter added. “The horror our people suffered should never be forgotten.”

A close aide to Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) who co-authored the senator’s 2011 book has stepped down following weeks of controversy over his decade-long career as a pro-Confederate shock jock and secession advocate after the Washington Free Beacon reported on his provocative statements.
Paul family insider and social media director Jack Hunter announced his resignation in an email to the Daily Caller on Sunday.

“I’ve long been a conservative, and years ago, a much more politically incorrect (and campy) one,” Hunter told the Daily Caller. “But there’s a significant difference between being politically incorrect and racist. I’ve also become far more libertarian over the years, a philosophy that encourages a more tolerant worldview, through the lens of which I now look back on some of my older comments with embarrassment.”

Growing numbers of citizens ready to fight gov't tyranny

Via avordvet

George Washington's original copy of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Various reports published by alternative news sources across America show that growing numbers of citizens are now ready to fight what they believe is abject tyranny on the part of the federal government.
One of the tell-tale signs of such growth is the stark proliferation of militia groups. From New York to South Carolina, from Arkansas to Idaho, militia groups are not only exploding in growth but experiencing a new interest in their philosophy and activities on the part of average citizens.

Although militias have always been around, something has changed within the past four years that has provided renewed impetus and motivation for such groups. Most within the movement point to the numerous violations of the Bill of Rights and other Constitutional provisions on the part of the current administration and Congress.

With JPM's gold inventory plunging 66% Friday to an all-time low of 46,000 ounces, and with reportedly over 502,000 ounces still standing against JPM for the JUNE gold contract, is the long anticipated force-majeure event in progress?

Military’s Top Officers Face Review of Their Character by Their Subordinates

Via SFMEDIC

http://www.californiaindianeducation.org/wall_of_faces/photographs/Vietnam_Combat_Warrior.jpg

By having General Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, issue an order to the US Armed Forces that all Flag and General Officers will now be evaluated by the subordinates under their command, Obama is destabilizing of the US military chain of command structure.  That directive violates good order and military leadership principles taught in Leadership Courses to all officer trainees in every Military Academy in every country in the world.  General Dempsey directive is a purely inept politically correct policy order that will destabilize unit cohesion, unit moral, and will destroy the principles of the chain of command structure followed in the US Armed Forces by the US Military Officer Corp.

What is really going on here is that Obama is employing enlisted personnel in the US Armed Forces to submit written evaluations on Flag and General Officers, in order to make sure they toe the line in support of Obama’s radical Social Experiment on Diversity.  The same type of reporting by enlisted personnel has been going on for 4 years of unit commanding officers; enlisted personnel have been encouraged for 4 years, to use an (800) telephone hot line set up for them, to put the commanding officers of their units on report for various reasons; it has resulted in the removal of hundreds of Commanding Officers (COs) for various infractions, many of whom have not agreed with Obama’s Social Experiment on Diversity (they have been removed for matters of supporting the religious conscious of chaplains, issues affecting the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”, female/male sexual harassment complaints against their COs, gross failures in command at sea by unqualified female COs, attempts to  rescue Navy SEALs being attacked by Al Q’ieda terrorists in Benghazi, etc.).  The inept order encouraging subordinates to put Flag and General Officers on report is similar to how enlisted members in the Wehrmacht during WWII were encouraged to put Germany’s Flag and General Officers on report for not following the party line on Nazi philosophy.

By clicking on the below listed link, you can read how the news is being managed to mislead the American people on the true source of where this inept and destructive order came from, and how it will be reported nationally by the left of center liberal media establishment, to provide the resident of the Oval Office with cover for another of his anti-military policies that are destabilizing the US Armed Forces, in this latest case, in destroying the military chain of command structure that has worked so very effectively for 238 years.

Violence continues in France over Islamic veil ban

 http://praag.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/France-car-burning.jpg

Some 20 cars have been torched and four people detained in a second night of violence in suburbs west of Paris, a result of tensions linked to authorities' handling of France's ban on Muslim face veils.
France's interior minister said Sunday that the incidents overnight targeted the town of Elancourt.
Police union official said on BFM television that about 50 assailants were involved, some firing weapons and a gasoline bomb at police.

The night before, about 250 people hurling projectiles clashed with police firing tear gas in the nearby town of Trappes in apparent protest over the enforcement of France's ban on Islamic face veils. Five people were injured and six detained in the violence, authorities said Saturday.

Former DOJ official: Civil rights unit sent to mediate anti-Zimmerman protests has history of advocacy

Via WiscoDave

The Department of Justice civil rights unit sent to Sanford, Florida in 2012 to mediate the anti-George Zimmerman protests has a history of putting racial advocacy ahead of its mandated duties, according to a former head of the unit.

“At CRS headquarters, we (meaning I) regularly had to warn or take corrective action against career employees for acting as advocates instead of mediators,” Ondray Harris, the former director of the DOJ’s Community Relations Service (CRS), told The Daily Caller. CRS was the unit deployed to Sanford in 2012 to oversee anti-Zimmerman protests.

“Some CRS employees come to the Agency with anti-law enforcement or anti- what they would call the ‘white establishment’ [attitudes]” added Harris, an African American who joined CRS during the administration of George W. Bush in 2007 and left in 2010.

China: The Watermelon Revolution

At least 10 Linwu residents were hurt in bloody clashes with police after the death of the watermelon vendor.

We've seen two events over the last couple of days that could trigger mass (open source) protest in China.

The first is a watermelon street vendor that was beaten to death with his own scale by a city militia.
The second is a wheelchair bound man that was blew himself up (after warning people to back away), at the Beijing airport.  He was crippled by an urban militia for running an informal taxi service with his scooter.

Both incidents have been accelerated by social media -- blogs and a short message service like Twitter -- due to widespread public disatisfaction with the militia system called Chengguan.

Chengguan militias were set up in Chinese cities in 2001 to enforce urban codes (a Chinese variant of "broken windows" in US cities).  They are run by local officials with little central oversight.

They mainly harrass the informal economy in Chinese cities and are known for corruption ("confliscation") and brutal enforcement.

That corrupt brutality is widely resented, particularly now.  Why now?

ACLU Reverses Championing Pursuit of Zimmerman

The American Civil Liberties Union, stung by the backlash to its initial reaction to the George Zimmerman acquittal, has reversed its position on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) should continue its post-acquittal pursuit of Zimmerman. The day after the acquittal, ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero released a statement that endorsed the furthering of the DOJ’s hunt against Zimmerman, saying:

Last night’s verdict casts serious doubt on whether the legal system truly provides equal protection of the laws to everyone regardless of race or ethnicity. This case reminds us that it is imperative that the Department of Justice thoroughly examine whether the Martin shooting was a federal civil rights violation or hate crime.

The statement also advocated additional federal guidance for law enforcement by using race and new legislation to stop racial profiling.

But the focus on civil rights flew in the face of the ACLU’s traditional position on guarding civil rights. In 1993, after the Rodney King incident, the ACLU adopted a policy that stated, “There should be no exception to double jeopardy principles simply because the same offense may be prosecuted by two different sovereigns.”

Media hide black-on-Hispanic attack amid Trayvon protests

 http://www.inflexwetrust.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/IFWT_BK.jpg

It started out Friday with teasing, then taunting. But when the young Hispanic woman behind the counter told the black man and his friends she did not want to go out with them, it escalated into assault that finished with gunshots hitting five of her family members.

At the same time as, a few miles away, Al Sharpton and Beyonce were at a rally, railing against racial injustice toward young black men.

We don’t know the names of these alleged would-be killers. Not yet. Nor would we have a description of the mob if we had to rely on the New York Post or New York Daily News. The NBC News affiliate told that part of the story: Police are now searching for five black men and one black woman for allegedly shooting the woman’s family as they gathered beneath a tree on a hot Brooklyn afternoon.

The New York Post told the rest of story:
When she refused their advances, one of the men threw a milkshake in her face, her family said. “They were making advances and teasing her and harassing her,” said family friend Ivette Miranda, 45. “She called her dad, and he went there, to the McDonald’s, and called the cops. He filed a police report right there.
“Those guys are bad men,” Miranda added. “They wanted to get back at Rolando.”
Rolando Pizarro told the man to stay away from his daughter, according to a manager at the restaurant.
He was angry at the thug for harassing his daughter at a McDonald’s where she works, his family said.
The thugs did not like that.

Unusual changes in the Corps:

The commander of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit was removed from his position on Wednesday, less than a week after the force’s subordinate units were first brought together to deploy in 2014, Marine officials said. Col. James Christmas was relieved of command by Maj. Gen. Raymond Fox, the commander of II Marine Expeditionary Force, out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., after the general lost confidence in Christmas’ ability to continue commanding the Marines and sailors of the 22nd MEU,” said Capt. Binford Strickland, a Marine spokesman. No additional explanation was given for the decision....

At least six other Marine officers have been removed from command since mid-March. In each case, Marine officials have provided little explanation for why the decisions were made, saying a general officer had lost confidence in that commander’s ability to lead his personnel.
I don't even have a crazy conspiracy theory here, I just know that seven reliefs of command in four months appears to be out of the ordinary.

Say no to kids amnesty

Tuesday is when the massive bi-partisan push for a "DREAM-like" amnesty for children and young adults begins in the House.

Even our friends in Congress need to be reminded that illegal immigration creates victims, and amnesties legalize the victimization.
The hearing Tuesday afternoon reflects how intent the Republican House leadership is on passing some kind of amnesty (although probably not for 11 million illegal aliens).
It looks like no witness has been invited to speak up for all the Americans who would be harmed by an amnesty -- particularly younger Americans, and Black and Hispanic Americans.

Of course it is from a cop. I’m trying to convince him to submit it to WND.

Mr. Flaherty,

thank you and God bless you.

Your book was delivered to my house yesterday via Amazon.  I got home from work at 2:15 PM, and shortly thereafter began reading it.

I couldn’t put it down and finished it around 10 PM.  I told my wife that she and our 26 year old son have to read it.

I know you’ve heard a million stories and personal accounts, here’s one more.

I’m a fifty something year old white male, born and raised in Baltimore City. I’m a retired Maryland State Trooper.  After retirement, I became the owner of a small business.

In 1970′s, I began 7th grade at Herring Run Jr. High School in Baltimore. It was an integrated public school, with students bussed in from other districts.  It was my first experience with blacks. There was daily harassment by black groups on soft whites.

Thefts, assaults, intimidation.

If I ever wrote a book, it would be titled “Gimme a nickel.”  In a threatening/intimidating manner, this would be stated with a palm out - ”Gimme a nickel.”
