OPSEC & Family/ Retreat Security
Via WRSA
Precisely, my view.
Recently there have been a couple of posts by Lizard Farmer and Mountain Guerrilla
that I simply felt the urge to chip in on and expand in my own
direction. I noted with wry amusement the comments by LF & Mosby
about not usually commenting on others posts but feeling the need to
anyway - I often find a post by another sparks a thought process that
turns into one of my posts.
Anyway, I enjoyed Mosby's 'Skull-Stomping Sacred Cows….Again: Unconventional Warfare and the Modern Militia Movement' which was written in defense of a post by LF that I have been unable to locate.
This is what I want to talk about: OPSEC and related comments as they occur to me.
I simply don't have any OPSEC, at least not in the way that many of you
consider it. I use gmail. I blog. I don't have any fancy internet
encryption. Everything I do is out there.
Why is that, you may ask? Well, firstly, I haven't got anything to be
secretive about. I am completely within my rights to blog as I do, there
is nothing seditious or criminal about it. I simply haven't got
anything to hide. But you will tell me that the current Regime will be
out to get me - but isn't that really the point - to stand up and
exercise our freedom? I refuse to be scared by collectivist, statist
intimidation. If someone tried to unlawfully constrain my freedom, then
its time to fight. Right?
Simply put, I will not be intimidated by the thought police.

Big Brother cops crush push to impeach
Thousands of Americans have participated in numerous Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment rallies across the nation over the past few weeks – and now there’s word of several arrests and police intimidation of citizens who peacefully protest on public walkways.
WND reported that Americans were staging protests on freeway overpasses and calling for Obama’s impeachment when the movement first launched.
Now, police have responded to some protest sites after reports of profanity and items being thrown from overpasses. Protester and organizer Lisa Zimmerman said none of these claims have been substantiated, and there is a concerted effort to shut the protests down. In two separate incidents, three overpass protesters have been arrested.
At a rally west of St. Louis, Mo., Mark Messmer and Duane Weed were arrested. The incident was caught on a YouTube video that’s racking up about 50,000 views per day.
As seen in the video posted online, the protesters, while standing on a public sidewalk, asked repeatedly what law they were breaking and why they were being asked to leave.
One officer can be heard saying, “I’ve been polite and asked you to leave the overpass.”
Another officer can then be heard saying, “Can you come with me? Do you recognize I am a peace officer? I’ve asked you and told you that you needed to leave.”
One protester asked, “Are we breaking a law here? What law am I breaking?”
Officer Jensen spoke up, “Failure to comply with the highway patrol. I’ve given you two chances.
Third time, I’m going to arrest you.”

Remembering Elizabeth Wright
Via SHNV
I remember her last blog post. A brilliant lady, so sad.
Although it seems like a much longer time, it was only two years ago
this month that black essayist and social critic Elizabeth Wright died.
In 1985 Ms. Wright inaugurated her website Issues & Views to
counter the racial proselytizing that was aggravating feelings of
victimization and entitlement in the black community.
The masthead of
her website bore the inscription: “So you still think all blacks think
alike?” Elizabeth Wright’s opinions certainly didn’t conform to the way
blacks were stereotyped by the establishment media. Like her mentor
Booker T. Washington, Wright felt that racial conflicts were best
resolved by conciliation rather than militancy. This represented quite a
change from the belligerent approach used by the NAACP and other
adversarial groups. Ms. Wright believed that the shrill accusations and
ultimatums of these contentious groups had become counterproductive. She
used her website to encourage a more pragmatic, less bellicose racial
dialogue but, as we would expect, Wright’s columns were ignored by the
mainstream media.

NSA Program Secretly Ruled Unconstitutional in 2011
Via avordvet
The National Security Agency illegally gathered as many as 56,000 emails and other electronic communications between Americans with no connection to terrorism as part of a collection program that was ruled unconstitutional by a secret spy court in 2011.
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court rendered its decision in an 86-page opinion on Oct. 3, 2011. It was declassified Wednesday by U.S. intelligence officials, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper authorized the release of the opinion.
"This is not an egregious overreaching by a greedy agency seeking to spy on Americans," a senior intelligence official said. "This is a technological problem that resulted in an inadvertent collection of a relatively small number of U.S. personal communications."
In the opinion, Chief Judge John Bates found that the government had "advised the court that the volume and nature of the information it has been collecting is fundamentally different from what the court had been led to believe."

Rubio Tones Down Immigration Talk
Via avordvet
On a recent swing through the most conservative parts of his state, Sen. Marco Rubio told a packed banquet hall at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club that major policy issues were threatening the American dream:
onerous taxes, burdensome regulations — and, above all, President Barack Obama's health care law.
But all Doc Washburn wanted to know about was immigration.
The local radio talk-show host asked the Republican senator why he had worked with Democrats on legislation that would give the estimated 11 million immigrants here illegally an eventual path to citizenship.
"We know you, and we've always loved you," Washburn said, "and yet you're pushing this and it's a real problem for us."
The exchange — and Rubio's reluctance to raise the issue after spending months advocating for comprehensive immigration reform — underscore why the potential presidential candidate has undertaken a sort of image-rehabilitation tour, promoting his conservative bona fides to crowds in Florida's most Republican bastions.
Once embraced by the tea party, Rubio's name can now elicit boos and catcalls at rallies. And since he began championing immigration changes, his standing has slipped in some polls.

Famed Arizona Sheriff Sends Ominous Verbal Warning Shot to Armed Militias

Tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is warning civilians who embark on armed patrols in remote desert terrain that they could end up with “30 rounds fired into” them by one of his deputies.
Tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is warning civilians who embark on armed patrols in remote desert terrain that they could end up with “30 rounds fired into” them by one of his deputies.
His unapologetically terse comments
came Tuesday after a member of an Arizona Minuteman border-watch
movement was arrested over the weekend for pointing a rifle at a
Maricopa County sheriff’s deputy he apparently mistook for a drug
smuggler.
“If they continue this there could be some dead militia out there,” Arpaio said.

Liberals’ Quest to ‘Rehabilitate’ Christians
Via Cousin John
The homo-fascist rainbow-shirts are at it again. They’ve unsheathed, once more, their anti-Christian long knives.
Back in April, I wrote the following in a column headlined “Religious Freedom and ‘Gay Marriage’ Cannot Coexist”: “‘Gay pride’ necessitates anti-Christian hate. It must. ‘Gay marriage’ and other ‘sexual orientation’-based laws do violence to freedom and truth. They are the hammer with which the postmodern left intends to bludgeon bloody religious liberty and the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic.”
Liberals are anything if not predictable.
Chai Feldblum, President Obama’s EEOC commissioner – a lesbian activist who supports “plural marriage” – has called the clash between religious liberty and unfettered sexual license a “zero-sum game,” meaning that someone wins and someone loses.

UPS Cutting Back Spousal Health Coverage, Blames Obamacare
UPS and a growing list of other big companies will end health insurance coverage of employees' spouses this fall if they can get coverage elsewhere — an unwelcome result, at least in part, of Obamacare.
Increased medical costs, "combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost," UPS said in a memo to employees.
A survey by consultant Towers Watson found that in 2013, 4 percent of large employers excluded spouses who also had coverage at their own workplace, and 8 percent planned to implement the restriction next year, Kaiser Health News and USA Today reported.

NSA 'goes after man who mocked agency'
The National Security Agency, the secretive federal department under fire for spying on U.S. citizens, is now accused of crushing the free-speech rights of a businessman clowning around about the NSA.
LibertyManiacs.com, a company that markets “freedom products for liberty lovers,” says the NSA is using a claim of copyright infringement to stop it from selling T-shirts and other products making fun of the Big Brother agency.

The Leak Scare: A government afraid of itself.
Via Bill
In the popular stereotype, conspiracy theorists direct their paranoia at the government: The CIA shot JFK. NASA faked the moon landing. Sept. 11 was an inside job.
But the most significant sorts of political paranoia are the
kinds that catch on with people inside the halls of power, not the
folks on the outside looking in. The latest example is a crackdown
on leaks that has the government crippled by a fear of its own
employees. Washington is petrified of itself.
The federal effort, called the Insider Threat Program, was launched in October 2011, and it certainly hasn’t diminished since Edward Snowden disclosed details of the National Security Agency’s domestic spying. As McClatchy reporters Marisa Taylor and Jonathan S. Landay have described, federal employees and contractors are encouraged to keep an eye on allegedly suspicious indicators in their co-workers’ lives, from financial troubles to divorce. A brochure produced by the Defense Security Service, titled “INSIDER THREATS: Combating the ENEMY within your organization,” sums up the spirit of the program: “It is better to have reported overzealously than never to have reported at all.”

Beware Warrior Cops & 52% Support Required Uniform Cameras For Police Officers
We need police to catch murderers, thieves and con men, and so we give them special power -- the power to use force on others. Sadly, today's police use that power to invade people's homes over accusations of trivial, nonviolent offenses -- and often do it with tanks, battering rams and armor you'd expect on battlefields.
In his book "Rise of the Warrior Cop," Radley Balko recounts the rise of police SWAT teams (SWAT stands for Special Weapons And Tactics) armed with heavy military equipment. SWAT raids began as rarely used methods of dealing with violent situations, like hostage-takings.
But government always grows.
In the 1970s, there were about 300 SWAT raids per year. "As of 2005," says Balko, "100 to 150 per day."

White Liberals and the Blacks they Kill
Via Cousin John
White liberals are the most unctuous, phony and insincere breed that has ever plagued the earth. While they publicly proclaim their boundless love for black Americans – their political agenda and policies have been killing them for decades.
From the socialistic dogmas of the Great Society to rabidly dangerous gun control laws – the inner cities have been morphed into violent cauldrons where innocent black children are gunned down by gutless thugs armed with illegal handguns and WIC cards.
Truth be told — welfare was nothing more than a green light for young black women to have children out of wed-lock. And the manifestations of this immoral practice have been nothing short of insidious.
