The Central Planning Solution to Evil
Via WRSA
It isn't really guns that the gun controllers are afraid of; it's a country where individual agency is still superior to organized control, where the trains don't run on time and orders don't mean anything. It's afraid of individual power.
We are not a violent society. We are a society sheltered from violence. No one in Rwanda spends time wondering what kind of man would murder people. They probably live next door to him. If your neighborhood is diverse enough, you might be unfortunate enough to live next door to war criminals all the way from Eastern Europe to Africa.
Guns are how we misspell evil. Guns are how we avoid talking about the ugly realities of human nature while building sandcastles on the shores of utopia.
It's not about the fear of what one motivated maniac can do in a crowded place, but about the precariousness of liberal social control that the killing sprees imply.
The gun issue is about solving individual evil through central planning in a shelter big enough for everyone. A Gun Free Zone where everyone is a target and tries to live under the illusion that they aren't. A society where everyone is drawing peace signs on colored notepaper while waiting under their desks for the bomb to fall.

The Charge
Via Ninety Miles From Tyranny
My third daughter, Bonnie was always frightened when I recited this or The Highwayman.
The Charge of the Light Brigade
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

NC: Black-mob violence destroys U.S. landmark. Hikers, joggers, bikers know better than to traverse famous trail.
Black-mob violence and black-on-white crime has not destroyed the entire American Tobacco Trail, only the small chunk that goes through Durham, N.C.
Otherwise, most of the 22.5 miles of this trail is a safe, sometimes bucolic experience for runners, bikers, strollers and even equestrians. As long as they stay away from the trail near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
Since 2011, dozens of people have been beaten, robbed, pushed off bikes and threatened in that part of the trail. All of the suspects in this violence and mayhem are black.
Though most of the time the local media is loathe to say so. In the most recent assault, WRAL-TV described one of the assailants as having a “dark complexion.”

Mom Breaks Hood Rule & Turns In Son After Seeing News Clip of Him Rob 85 Year Old Veteran
A Kansas City mother grossly violated the no-snitching code that's prevalent in the hood by turning in her son after seeing him on video robbing an 85-year-old military veteran during a home invasion.
The 85-year-old military veteran, who is also disabled, had been robbed twice within a couple of days, and both episodes were caught on surveillance video. He was badly beaten during the first robbery, and two days later, the urban terrorists struck again.
During the second robbery, his home surveillance video showed Michael Bray, 18, knocking on the door and then pointing a gun at the senior when he answered. With the senior fearing for his life and not resisting, Bray signaled the other urban terrorists (eight) to come in and even held open the door as they anxiously rushed into the house like hyenas pursuing a fresh kill. The video even shows one of the urban terrorists running down the block at top speed to join the feeding frenzy.
After stealing a rifle, handgun, thousands of rounds of ammunition and smartphone, they fled the home. Thankfully, the 85-year-old veteran survived another battle, albeit domestic.
When the local media repeatedly aired the upsetting footage, Michael Bray's mother recognized and confronted him. It was then that he admitted his involvement, and shortly thereafter, she ushered him to the police station.

Two Marines decorated for actions during Khe Sanh: 'If one of us earned it, all of us did'
Via LH
Bobby Moffatt and Joe Cordileone were privates first
class when they advanced on Hill 881 South in Vietnam, on April 30,
1967. The Battle of Khe Sanh was their first firefight, and, they said,
the worst day of their lives.
The two former Marines, now in their 60s, were honored Friday for their
bravery in that battle: Cordileone was awarded the Silver Star and
Moffatt the Bronze Star with V for combat valor.
Both said they were simply doing their jobs.
Company M, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, was advancing to secure the hill
that day when they were attacked by a much larger force, according to
the award citations. The hill turned into “a deadly killing zone,” and
Cordileone’s platoon leader and every automatic and heavy weapon Marine
was either killed or severely wounded.
Cordileone attacked several enemy fighters, and, when he realized enemy
snipers were targeting the wounded Marines laying on the battlefield,
he charged into the line of fire again and again to move them to safety.

Three Attackers in Kenya Mall Siege Lived in US
More immigration from Muslim countries, please, more immigration......
Three of the attackers at the Westgate Mall siege in Nairobi, Kenya, are from the United States, sources within the terror group that orchestrated the attack told CNN on Sunday.
CNN reported that the American-linked militants from the terrorist group al-Shabab are among nine people listed on a since-shuttered Twitter account linked to the group.
Sources told CNN that other names linked to the account include two individuals from Somalia and one each from Canada, Finland, Kenya and the United Kingdom. They range in age from 20 to 27 years old.
Two of the Americans are from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, and the other is from Kansas City, Missouri. Minneapolis has a large Somali community that in the past has been linked to recruitment efforts by al-Shabab as well as al-Qaida. The U.S. State Department is trying to match the names released by al-Shabab, but is growing more confident that American citizens were involved in the attack, according to CNN.

NC: Thanks to YOUR response to GRNC alerts…
GRNC has set-up a webpage to help you report violations: go HERE or to http://www.grnc.org/Report-Local-Government-Violations.
Due
to coordinated pressure applied by freedom-loving NC gun owners, NC
cities and counties are bringing municipal codes in-line with state law
following success of HB937, the omnibus gun rights bill that will become
effective October 1.
Victory in the East
Your
pressure on Pitt County Commissioners resulted in elimination of
confusing park-wide bans proposed by anti-gun staff; only the few
restrictions permitted by state law were adopted. Despite the fact these
bans were scheduled for “under-the-radar” votes to avoid public input,
vigilant GRNC supporters identified the threat in time for it to be
neutralized. Please follow this excellent example and closely monitor
your local government for possible bans of expanded carry authorized by
state law.
Perhaps
learning from Pitt County's experience, the City of Greenville also
voted on revised regulations that appear to comply with state law.
There
seems to be some consistent effort on the part of anti-gun
local-government leaders to ignore the fact that handguns may be legally
stored in locked containers in vehicles parked on educational property.
Is this a coordinated attack possibly orchestrated by the North Carolina League of Municipalities? The provision for vehicle storage is missing from their memorandum covering the new law. Watch carefully for this type of apparent willful misinterpretation in your area.
Success in the West
The Macon County Board of Education, that had recently proposed enacting a “policy” to defy state law and not allow handguns to be stored in locked containers within vehicles, has been advised by the school system's attorney, John Henning Jr, to “drop the idea”.
According to Mr. Henning, the Board of Education has been “inundated” with letters over the issue – from YOU! Citing influence of GRNC (described by the Asheville Citizen Times as “The powerful gun rights group”)
Henning is reportedly concerned about the school system being sued for
intentionally violating state law. Henning said, “There isn’t any desire
on the part of Macon County Schools to be the test case. I clearly do
not want to waltz them into litigation.”
Your pressure as part of GRNC has clearly been felt and responded to, but the fight isn't over yet. The Macon County Board of Education has yet to agree to accept their attorney's advice. They will meet at 6 pm this Monday at Highlands School
to vote on the issue, so keep 'inundating' them with input until they
comply. Local gun owners should plan to attend the meeting, as described
below.
Winston-Salem moves to comply...
Winston-Salem
gun owners should feel satisfaction at successfully dragging their City
Council kicking and screaming into compliance with state law. There
remains a small issue regarding storage in parking lots to be resolved,
but greenway and park carry now appears in-line. These changes were
decided in a Meeting held Monday, September 16th.
During
this meeting, City Councilors were clear in their hostility toward
state-wide uniformity implemented by HB937. Also clear was their lack of
understanding of the scope of the Second Amendment, which was claimed
to not protect carry outside of the home. The “home” issue may
temporarily remain restricted in places like Washington DC, our violence
capitol, but was resolved for NC in the GRNC-sponsored Bateman vs
Perdue case that rescinded bans outside the home and during declared
states of emergency.
The Winston-Salem
Council's sophomoric response to state law is perhaps best illustrated
by their attempts to recruit anti-gun property owners who have granted
right-of-way for greenways. Their stated goal is to convince these
grantors to object to carry over their property, creating a patchwork of
bans intended to frustrate lawful carry. What the City fails to
understand is that property owners waived rights to such objections by
granting the right-of-way. Undoubtedly there will be more grasping of
straws to deny Second Amendment rights on the part of malcontented
Winston-Salem leaders. Gun owners must remain vigilant. The GRNC lawsuit
against Winston-Salem will remain active until the City becomes fully
compliant with the law.
Restaurant Carry becomes legal October 1!
Carry
in restaurants and venues charging admission, including movie theaters,
becomes legal October 1. Gun owners across the State are planning to
celebrate with “dinner and a movie”.
Please
remain watchful for anti-gun posting that inevitably will be pushed by
anti-freedom organizations. Gun owners are encouraged to report posted
venues and restaurants using the GRNC webform HERE. Also, please obtain
a supply of restaurant report cards available on the GRNC website. Note
that a typo on the original issue has been corrected and revised cards
are now available.
'Top' DC Republicans Sent Oppo Research to 'Hammer' Cruz
On Sunday, Chris Wallace, the host of Fox News Sunday, said that Republicans in Washington were savaging Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) behind Cruz's back before Cruz's appearance on the program to discuss defunding Obamacare.
In an appearance on Washington D.C.'s Fox 5 to preview his Sunday show, Wallace said, "I will tell you I have never in my time in Washington seen a party so upset with one of its own members."He said he had been flooded with opposition research on Cruz--from Republicans. Later on Fox News Sunday, Wallace said these "top Republicans" gave him "unsolicited research and questions" to "hammer" Cruz.
"Since we announced that Ted Cruz was going to be on the show, I've been getting background research and questions going after Cruz not from Democrats but from other Republicans," Wallace said on Fox 5. "They really feel he has put them in this corner that they can't get out of gracefully and they're not very happy with him." (Tough titty. BT)
In an exclusive op-ed for Breitbart News on Saturday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has also been savaged by establishment Republicans, urged Cruz to stay strong in the face of inevitable attacks from fellow Republicans and suggested they compare "shiv marks" the next time they meet:

Update: Kenyan Government Moves to End Deadly Mall Siege. Death toll now 68.
The Kenyan government on Sunday night appeared ready to storm Shabab militant attackers holed up in a mall for more than a day, seeking to end a siege that has shaken the nation and left dozens dead.
As helicopters circled the Westgate mall in Nairobi, the National Disaster Operation Center said on Twitter
Sunday evening after sunset: “Godspeed to our guys in the Westgate
building. Major engagement ongoing. Sporadic gunfire.”
“Kenyan forces who’ve just attempted a roof landing must know that they are jeopardising the lives of all the hostages at #Westgate,”
read a Twitter post attributed to the Shabab on Sunday night. “The
Kenyan government shall be held responsible for any loss of life as a
result of such an imprudent move.”
It was unclear the extent or goals of the incursion. At least four
explosions could be heard Sunday night near Westgate, though the area
was cordoned off.
Earlier in the day, the Kenyan president, Uhuru Kenyatta, addressed the
nation urging patience and expressing sorrow atloss of life.

On Thursday, 13 people
were shot and injured in a park in Chicago. The shootings were carried
out by an “assault style rifle” with a high-capacity magazine, both of
which are already banned
in the city of Chicago. Nevertheless, Chicago Police Superintendent
Garry F. McCarthy has called for a nationwide ban on assault weapons and
high-capacity magazines.

Well, Charlie, eat your words much?:)
Someone
is watching you. Did you hear that click on your phone line, or do you
feel like someone is hiding around the next corner, listening to your
every word? You need the MCD-22H Miniature Combination Detector, a
crude-looking handheld unit that can detect eavesdropping bugs,
telephone taps, body wires, and even video cameras and GPS
vehicle-tracking devices—any analog or digital device with frequencies
between 1MHz and 6GHz. Its four red lights flash when it detects any
transmitters within a 25-foot range. It can even detect one of the most
popular devices used by today's snoopers, the ominously-named Infinity

Because
we're not so self-important to think anyone would bother to listen to
anything we're saying or doing, we're not thinking this little $229 unit
would be worth it. However, the website that tries to scare you into
buying one of these homemade-looking devices is slightly amusing.

UN report takes the steam out of “climate change”
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recently released a report that doesn’t find much evidence of “climate change” or “global warming” based on human activity, but nevertheless rushes to assure readers that the problem is still serious. Not so fast, says the Heartland Institute and the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change it supports:
“Whereas the reports of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warn of a dangerous human effect on climate, NIPCC concludes the human effect is likely to be small relative to natural variability, and whatever small warming is likely to occur will produce benefits as well as costs,” the non-governmental panel announced, rolling out a hefty report with a succinct “summary for policymakers” to back up their claim.
In essence, the NIPCC is calling shenanigans on the United Nations panel, accusing them of “departing from proper scientific methodology.”

Suicide bomb attack on an historic church in Pakistan kills at least 75.
Hundreds more were injured in the attacks that began midday yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya.
“There were blasts and there was hell for all of us,” Nazir John, who was at the church with at least 400 other worshipers, told the Associated Press. “When I got my senses back, I found nothing but smoke, dust, blood and screaming people. I saw severed body parts and blood all around.”
Blood stained the floors and white walls of the All Saints Church in the worst church attack in the country’s history. The floor was littered with bodies and plates of rice.
The suicide bombers detonated their explosives almost simultaneously, said police. Authorities were recovering body parts in a grisly effort to identify the victims and their ages.
The blasts killed more than 60 people and wounded 120, said Arshad Javed, top health official at the hospital in Peshawar where the victims were being treated. The dead included several women and children, said Sher Ali Khan, another doctor at the hospital.
The hospital ran out of caskets and beds for the wounded.

44 Facts About The Death Of The Middle Class That Every American Should Know
Via WiscoDave
What is America going to look like when the middle class is dead?
Once upon a time, the United States has the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world. When I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was “middle class” and it was very rare to hear of someone that was out of work. Of course life wasn’t perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, and most families could afford nice vacations and save for retirement at the same time. Sadly, things have dramatically changed in America since that time.
There just aren’t as many “middle class jobs” as there used to be. In fact, just six years ago there were about six million more full-time jobs in our economy than there are right now. Those jobs are being replaced by part-time jobs and temp jobs.
The number one employer in America today is Wal-Mart and the number two employer in America today is a temp agency (Kelly Services). But you can’t support a family on those kinds of jobs. We live at a time when incomes are going down but the cost of living just keeps going up. As a result, the middle class in America is being absolutely shredded and the ranks of the poor are steadily growing.
The following are 44 facts about the death of the middle class that every American should know…
1. According to one recent survey, “four out of five U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives”.
2. The growth rate of real disposable personal income is the lowest that it has been in decades.
3. Median household income (adjusted for inflation) has fallen by 7.8 percent since the year 2000.
4. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the middle class is taking home a smaller share of the overall income pie than has ever been recorded before.
5. The home ownership rate in the United States is the lowest that it has been in 18 years.
6. It is more expensive to rent a home in America than ever before. In fact, median asking rent for vacant rental units just hit a brand new all-time record high.

Why American workers & Middle Class are losing ground
Via Mike "Every voter needs to know
the facts in this speech by Senator Jeff Session (R AL) and accept
nothing less than government for the common good from legislative and
congressional incumbents and candidates of both major political
parties. We need to start right now before special interests stack the
deck against the common good and any political recourse to defend our
economic and political rights"
The indispensable man was back on the Senate floor on Thursday, defending American workers who are struggling to survive in the jobless recovery. Senator Sessions warned clearly about the danger of an immigration bill conference committee, where a tough enforcement House bill would be blended with the disastrous Senate monstrosity, and amnesty would be rammed through. Corporations are laying off thousands of Americans, yet are demanding more foreigners be made available to hire in the place of citizens.
In another snip from the same speech, Sessions noted the Census finding that middle class incomes have declined for 18 years. That means money isn’t being saved for college and young people are postponing marriage. Four million fewer people are working today than in 2007, even though the population has grown. Of the jobs created this year, 77 percent are part-time. Workforce participation is the lowest since 1975.
With such a severe systemic job shortage, should the government double legal immigration in the next decade and beyond? Certainly not.
Here’s a companion press release from Thursday, that contains a lot of the important facts from Sessions’ speech about the economy:
