NC: AUTHORIZE .NET ABANDONS GUN SELLERS
GRNC has just learned that the shopping-cart-gateway provider, Authorize.Net (a subsidiary of CyberSource), is refusing to continue providing services to Hyatt Guns,
a large North Carolina-based gun shop that also has a sizable online
presence. In late August, management at Hyatt Guns was disappointed and
perplexed to receive a notice explaining that the store was in violation
of Authorize.Net’s “acceptable use” policy. What was their offending
violation? They sell firearms. In Authorize.Net’s own words:
Dear Hyatt Gun Shop Inc,
Authorize.Net LLC ("Authorize.Net") has determined that the nature of your business constitutes a violation of Section 2.xiv of the Authorize.Net Acceptable Use Guidelines and Sections 3.3 and 11.3 of the Authorize.Net Service Agreement (the "Agreement"). These sections include, but are not limited to, the sale of firearms or any similar product. Accordingly, pursuant to Section 4 of the Acceptable Use Guidelines, your ability to access and use the Authorize.Net Services will be terminated on September 30, 2013.
You
read that right. Authorize.Net is terminating the gun store’s access to
its services simply because they sell guns. Based on their policy
statement above, one can only conclude that this discriminatory policy
is being applied to gun sellers nationwide. It looks like the small but
noisy anti-gun crowd has gotten to what must be a jelly-spined PR
department at CyberSource and Authorize.Net. Either that, or leadership
at these companies have simply become anti-gun all on their own.
Whatever the cause, Authorize.Net is making it clear that businesses
lawfully selling firearms are undesirable, and need not apply.
Authorize.Net’s unexpected abandonment has left Hyatt Guns, and presumably others, with very little time to find a new provider for online transactions. The scramble to set up a new system in a short period of time is disruptive and quite costly. If this is how upstanding business people are going to be treated by CyberSource and Authorize.Net, it’s time that we all “de-authorize” them from our online experience.
GRNC
is recommending that you keep a close eye out for the Authorize.Net and
CyberSource names and logos when shopping online, and avoid making
purchases from companies that use their services. When you run across
one of these logos, take a moment and let the online shop know why
you’ve decided to take your business elsewhere. Below you’ll see the
identifying logos for CyberSource and Authorize.Net, which you may see
when checking out at an online store. Please take a good look, and put
them on your “don’t buy” list.
GRNC also asks that you contact CyberSource and make it clear that you’re on to them, that you refuse to buy from companies that use their services, and that you intend to convey this message to online merchants. They need to know that singling out upstanding businessmen and women, and needlessly making it more difficult for them to conduct lawful and ethical commerce, will not be tolerated. Tell them that making such an unjust practice part of their business model will not only adversely affect their reputation, but it will hit them where it hurts most—the bottom line. Below, you will find contact information and suggested text for a message to CyberSource regarding Authorize.Net’s prejudice. Please contact them, and let them know that treating gun sellers like second class merchants is an affront to gun owners, and to all freedom-loving people for that matter.

The percentage of Neanderthal among the world's six billion or so nonblacks usually ranges from 1-4%. When the 2010

except for the fact that the places where people are "100 percent human"

to trifles such as longevity, technology, written languages, and living
standards, says Jim Goad in this article, In Defense of Neanderthals, at Taki's Magazine.

This little tool has been my mainstay on several bitter nights when I was lost in the forest, or in a canebrake, and without it I would have fared badly.
Doctors compared the effects of raw, unheated honey to numerous antibiotics on 28 different strains of pathogenic, multi–drug resistant bacteria associated with burns. Only three of the strains were inhibited at all by any of the 11 antibiotics used in the study; every single one of the 28 strains was inhibited by a 25-percent concentration of honey. Plain, simple, raw honey worked.

NC: GRNC Campus Carry
Letter received today.
You cannot, for example, drive onto campus and then secure your firearm in the trunk. To do so, would be a Class 1 Felony as you cannot take your weapon out of a "closed compartement" for any reason.*
* I believe this is incorrect, as I understand that you can retrieve your gun from your car in case of a situation that would require its use.

An anonymous source has told PPSIMMONS News and Ministry that he has called the office of Senator Jim Inhofe who has confirmed that he will be filing charges of treason against John Kerry if he signs the United Nations Arms Treaty on Wednesday this week.
The Associated Press is reporting that Secretary of State John Kerry will sign the United Nations Arms Treaty on Wednesday this week.
An anonymous source has told PPSIMMONS News and Ministry that he has called the office of Senator Jim Inhofe who has confirmed that he will be filing charges of treason against John Kerry if he signs the United Nations Arms Treaty on Wednesday this week.
The reliable source told PPSIMMONS:
"I just called Senator Jim Inhofes office and found out he is filing charges of treason on Kerry for this. Call his office and lend your voice. Senator Jim Inhofe DC office: (202) 224-4721"
It is feared and predicted by many gun rights groups and advocates that
the treaty, if ratified, could open up the US gun market to
international regulation. (More)

A response to ‘Cork Graham is a CIA-faker’ (Part 3)
Another book worth mentioning is “Victory in Vietnam,” a translation by Merle Pribbenow, who states in his foreword that he “left Saigon aboard a Marine CH-46 helicopter, dazed and confused at the rapid collapse of the largest and most expensive US Military effort since World War II.” Other than finding the comment partly the title of a humorous film about stoners in the 1970s, I’m surprised that Pribbenow was dazed and confused.
How could it have been any clearer that Saigon was going to fall immediately after the North got the go ahead by Congress refusing to back South Vietnam in 1975?

When I reported to the Pentagon in 1984, a few weeks after my release on May 17, 1984, not even the investigators at the POW/MIA resolution office, the Joint Casualty Resolve Center, knew I was in the Navy until they debriefed me.

3 out of 3: Off-duty sheriff's deputy shoots 3 alleged muggers in Forest Park, kills one
Via Equal Force
Police say an off-duty 16-year veteran of the St. Charles County Sheriff's Deputy fired shots at three men who were attempting to rob him late Monday night in Forest Park. One of the men died from his injuries.
The 36-year-old officer and a 23-year-old female acquaintance were jogging in the park past-curfew hours Monday, when they stopped at the corner of the Grand Basin. They told investigators that a man slowly walked past the pair. The officer said he became suspicious and, fearing for their safety, put his gun at his side.
As they turned the corner, three men in their late teens to early 20s, who were dressed in hoodies, dark clothing and armed with a gun, announced a robbery, according to a news release.
The off-duty officer fired his gun, hitting one of the suspects three times in the lower abdomen.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. Police identified him as Antonio Nash, 18, of the 2700 block of N. Kingshighway.
The second suspect was shot in the buttocks, and was taken to the hospital, where officials say he is in stable condition. The third suspect, who was shot in the neck, was also taken to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Homeowner kills suspected car thief in Maple Valley
Via Equal Force
The owner of a truck that was broken into early Tuesday in Maple Valley is an ex-Marine with a concealed weapons permit.
The King County Sheriff's Office says he was armed when he took his dog for a walk and discovered two people in his pickup.
He found a man and woman, in their 20's, in the truck.
"Guns were drawn," King County Deputy Charlie Akers said. "The bad guy had a gun with him. The property owner had a gun. About a dozen shots were fired."
Akers tells KIRO Radio's Dori Monson that the homeowner apparently fired in an attempt to disable the suspects' getaway vehicle, which he says was a stolen vehicle from Kent.
"As the truck owner fired some rounds at the vehicle to disable it, the individual who was running apparently started shooting at him, at which time he adjusted his fire and he was able to shoot the suspect, who died at the scene."

Minn. Somali Community Reacts To Kenyan Mall Attack
Via Michael
Two days after Al-Shabaab militants stormed and unleashed chaos in a shopping center in Nairobi, Kenya, the group has released the names of the people responsible.
On Twitter Sunday, Al-Shabaab said some of the militants are from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
The Al-Shabaab Twitter account has since been suspended, but this is a terror group Minnesotans have become familiar with.
For local Somali community leaders, the chaos in Nairobi is a reminder of the dangers of Al-Shabaab being able to recruit young Somali-Americans for their attacks.
“It’s very sad those kids are getting caught in the middle of this,” said Omar Jamal, who works for the United Nations. “If anything, it shows Al-Shabaab is as deadly and dangerous as it can ever be.”
A leader within the Somali community told WCCO two of the attackers are from the Twin Cities, but he has not yet spoken with their families.
Al-Shabaab has a history of recruiting young Somali-Americans from the Twin Cities. The FBI says several dozen have been lured to terror training camps overseas.

'I rise in opposition to Obamacare' Ted Cruz seizes Senate floor, vows to speak 'until I can no longer stand'
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is speaking on the Senate floor and says he plans to go on until he can no longer stand, in his fight to defund Obamacare.
It’s not exactly a filibuster, because he would be allowed to speak only until noon tomorrow, but the speech may go on for a long time.
His message is aimed at Republicans as well as Democrats.
“No more fake fights,” he said. “No more hiding your votes. We need to make D.C. listen.”
He is trying to stop establishment Republicans from pushing a plan that would allow them to make merely a symbolic vote against Obamacare, while allowing it to remain funded.
Cruz took to the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon to make a passionate plea to stop Obamacare.
He is taking turns speaking, and holding the Senate floor, with colleague Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, who has also been leading the fight to defund Obamacare.

Exclusive: Rand Paul wants Chief Justice Roberts, all federal workers, to enroll in Obamacare
Arguing federal workers should not get special treatment, Rand Paul says he does not want taxpayers subsidizing the personal health-care plans of any federal employee — including Chief Justice John Roberts — anymore.
With some in Congress arguing lawmakers and their staff should not get subsidies to cover their health insurance as President Obama’s health-care law goes into effect, the Republican senator from Kentucky told The Daily Caller on Sunday that he’s going to start pushing a constitutional amendment that goes even further.
Paul’s proposal — outlawing any special exemptions for government employees — would mean all federal workers would have to purchase health insurance on the new Obamacare exchanges instead of getting taxpayer-funded subsidies. Some critics say those subsidies amount to special treatment. The Obamacare health insurance exchange opens Oct 1.

U.N. sarin investigation 'amateurish' Analysts: Raises more questions than answers
The United Nations investigation into the Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack in Damascus officially wasn’t designed to assign blame, but even so, the results are “amateurish” and it raises more questions than it answers, according to sources.
Experts who have analyzed the 41-page U.N. investigative report say that it is incomplete, “amateurish” according to one source, and from the report, it is impossible to construct any accurate details about sites investigated.
There also is conflicting information on the samples taken from the various sites to determine whether chemical weapons were used, analysts of the report say. In some cases, no chemical weapons residue was found in samples taken at the sites.

The House Judiciary Committee has already passed four immigration bills this Congress and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the committee's chairman, says work is going on behind the scenes to write bills addressing other immigration topics. Rep. Goodlatte also said that he hopes the House will start to vote on immigration bills in October.
While a couple of the bills approved by the Judiciary Committee are helpful, the passage of any of the bills could result in a mass amnesty for illegal aliens. Sens. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin have made it very clear that they will use any single-issue House-passed immigration bill as a vehicle to pass their mass amnesty legislation.
Please send a fax to your U.S. Representative and urge him/her to ask Speaker Boehnher not to hold any immigration floor votes until the Senate's "Gang of Eight" bill is truly dead.

His story emerged as sporadic gunfire continued to ring out from inside the mall early today as Kenyan security forces battled Al Qaeda-linked terrorists into a fourth day.
Despite Kenyan police assurances that they had taken control of the building, a security expert with contacts inside the mall said at least 10 hostages were still being held by a band of attackers, possibly as many as 13.

Insane: Student Faces Expulsion For Playing With Toy Gun At Home
Via Michael
In the wake of several high-profile
shootings and a national debate regarding gun control, public schools
have become notoriously hypersensitive about the possession of anything
resembling a firearm on campus. While harsh rules are often enforced
with abandon, children have at least been able to play with traditional
toy guns while away from school property.
Unfortunately, school administrators
now consider such harmless behavior at home to be sufficient basis for
draconian punishment.
A 12-year-old in Virginia Beach, Va., recently learned how serious — and delusional – the response to
playing in his front yard can be. He and a friend were playing with a
pellet gun at his home one morning when the school bus arrived. Khalid
Caraballo and his friend were promptly disciplined and both face
suspension for the incident. Carabello could be kept out of school for
the remainder of the school year as a result of his off-campus playtime.

Nic and his family arrived Friday evening and set up camp. I picked Catfish up from the train station and got him settled in the house.
Saturday Catfish worked on the CD3WD project while Nic and I set up tables, chairs and gathered firewood. Nic's daughters learned the patient art of stalking and capturing barn kittens.
III started arriving at 1230 and pretty much were all there by 130. Chairs around the fire pit allowed for conversation. I will admit that I was not able to talk and listen as much as I would have liked because I was moving back and forth between the house, fire pit and barnyard doing "host stuff." Others would be far better at describing the conversations that took place than I would be.
The food was delicious! Catfish grilled the brats and burgers to perfection and the dishes that were brought to pass were all masterpieces! Tom's chicken wings were so good my wife asked for the recipe. I do not think anything could have been better or more perfect.
Doc Scheffler offered a set of F/B plates for a raffle. $5 a person was collected with the winner getting the plate and the cash to spend at Main Gun. Nic won the raffle.
Brian had graciously brought a Tavor magazine to also raffle (it fits AR platform 5.56/.223 rifles) and Tom won that.
All in all a small group of Patriots met, sharing a meal and conversation.
Friendships were made, support offered and taken.
The foundation has been laid. Now the building starts.

Dingbat: Blood on the Constitution: Concern about American lives starts with gun control
Via WRSA
Here we go again. With 12 dead bodies at Washington’s Navy
Yard, not including that of the shooter, Americans are back to the usual
handwringing: Why, oh why can’t we stem the tide of gun violence?
People, this is not rocket science. (Evidently to you it is.)
For a start, we have too many guns sloshing around. A recent Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) backgrounder notes that “The United States, with less than 5 percent of the world’s population, has about 35-50 percent of the world’s civilian-owned guns.” Reading the news, you might imagine that Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or some other conflict-ravaged nation would be leading the most guns-per-capita race, but nope: That’s us. We’re No. 1.
