Not for Self but Country
This photo section begins with the pictures served as the requiem, paying tribute to all who sacrificed their lives in defending Saigon on
the final day of April 30, 1975, when all the King's men and his ally
had flew away for their own sanctuary.
Some may see these photos as the images of defeat, but take a hard
look at the historical pictures: They not only told the true story of
Vietnam war but they also mirrored the ultimate sacrifice, heroism,
human desperation and finally the state of being abandoned. Mr. Bui
Diem, former South Vietnam Ambassador to the US in an interview has
spoke of his mind:
"..Never put the fate of our nation into the
foreigners' hands..."Perhaps this is the priceless message for the many
next Vietnamese generations.

Buy It Before The PC Police Burn It!:) |
On September 11 of this year, I was one of several
speakers at the Hendersonville Historic Courthouse commemorating the
2,977 Americans who died on September 11, 2001 and the four that had
died in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012:
There are still many lingering concerns about why the President and his national security, intelligence, and State Department staffs did not quickly and forcefully act to rescue our U.S. Ambassador to Libya. There is a persistent allegation that President Obama relieved U.S. Army General Carter Ham, commander of the U.S. African Command, and Navy Admiral Charles Gaouette, commander of Carrier Strike Group 3 for attempting to launch rescue operations despite the President’s order to stand down. Standing down is the President’s prerogative, but standing down on a rescue mission goes against very strong U.S. military traditions “never to leave a man behind.”
This is not an absolute tradition, however, even in rescue operations. Sometimes going after wounded or isolated troops can result in many more dead than the number to be rescued. Calculating the risks is always a factor. Our Communist enemies in Korea and Vietnam often used wounded men as bate to set up an ambush that might kill scores of Americans. My combat experience was with the Air Force and included air rescue missions and protecting air rescue missions under fire. One of the informal Air Force traditions is “the Air Force never turns back.” It is a proud tradition, but it is not a suicide tradition. Nevertheless, most military units will not willingly abandon their comrades in peril. It is simply part of their firmly ingrained code of duty and honor to make every reasonable effort to rescue their comrades. We need to keep those traditions.
The question is why President Obama ordered a stand down and enforced it to the letter. Did he know more than General Ham and Admiral Gaouette? My guess is that he probably did not know any more about events and operations taking place. He undoubtedly knew more about the political issues. I personally believe that the President had reasons for standing down that most Americans would not consider acceptable. Nevertheless, the rule of law and military command is that the President has the last say. He cannot be second-guessed at the time of his decision, but any subsequent information on that decision that becomes public knowledge is subject to the rule of law and the rule of the people.
My purpose for speaking at the September 11, 2013 Courthouse event was to give some perspective on how important it is for those who must face danger for their country to know that the American people and their fellow comrades will not abandon them in their desperate peril without enormous effort, fierce engagement with the enemy, and calling forth tremendous personal valor.
On the afternoon of February 7, 1967, I was the co-pilot/navigator on one of two Air Force twin engine A-26 Invader attack bombers assigned to fly close combat support on a mission to rescue a downed Air Force observer pilot forced to bail out right in the middle of the most dangerous and heavily defended mountain pass (Mu Gia) leading from North Vietnam into Laos. We were accompanied by two heavily armed Air Force A1-E Skyraiders also flying support for the two Air Force Jolly Green Giant rescue helicopters out of Udorn AB, Thailand, who would pick up the downed pilot.
The downed O-1 observer pilot had been missing for nearly a week, but was finally able to contact an over-flying Air Force search aircraft that morning. Within hours, Air Force, Navy, and Marine jet fighter bombers were wreaking havoc suppressing North Vietnamese communications and anti-aircraft batteries in the area. We could not see all this from our aircraft, but we could hear everything very clearly on our radios.
As we arrived on our assigned station, the first Jolly Green helicopter, flying just over the treetops, approached the rescue site from a SW position. The second Jolly Green followed about 150 yards behind.
In a few minutes, we heard “We’ve got him on board. We’re lifting off.” Then came the report “We’re getting a lot of ground fire.” Speaking directly to the pilot of the second Jolly Green the first Jolly Green pilot said. “We’re hit.” A moment later, in a very tense voice, he said, “We’re going in. Get down here quick, Chuck, get down here quick.” Then there was silence, as the first Jolly Green hit a steep mountainside and exploded into flames.
It has been 44 years, but that last cry, “Get down here quick, Chuck. Get down here quick” is forever etched upon my memory.
Then came a determined voice from the second Jolly Green, “We’re gong in to see, if there are any survivors.” At this point they were also experiencing a hail of ground fire. The crew of the second chopper was astonished to see that there was a survivor. Sgt Duane Hackney, the pararescue man, had been thrown clear of the burning inferno. He stood there on a steep slope waving at them. Despite their own mortal danger, the second Jolly Green, still under fire and taking hits, moved in, picked him up and lifted off.
Meanwhile the two A1-Es engaged the enemy with a ferocious display of firepower. We were held in reserve because very shortly thereafter, Navy and Air Force jets were already on the scene and took an awful vengeance on the North Vietnamese.
In the meantime, the second Jolly Green, smoking and vibrating terribly, headed west into Laos and relative safety. They had to crash land in the middle of Laos, but were picked up by another rescue helicopter the next morning.
“Not for Self but Country” is the traditional U.S. Navy Motto. Patriotism is selfless love set in truth. Its banners are duty, honor, courage, blood, sweat, and tears.
An Infernal Traffic Originating in British Avarice
House Slaves 1860s The Illustrated London News (May 23, 1863), vol 42, p 552
Virginia
had one-third of the entire slave population of the Union within her
borders in 1787, courtesy of the British crown and New England slave
traders – and despite her protests to cease importation. Georgia
originally banned slaves under James Oglethorpe but British avarice
eventually overcame his vision of a free colony. It then follows that
the flag of slavery is not the flag of the American Confederacy.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"Unsurpassed Valor, Courage and Devotion to Liberty"
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"
An Infernal Traffic Originating in British Avarice
“The
supreme opportunity for suppressing the importation of slaves and thus
hastening the day of emancipation came with the adoption of the Federal
Constitution. [With] every increase in the number of slaves [imported]
the difficulties and dangers of emancipation were multiplied. The hope
of emancipation rested in stopping their further importation and
dispersing throughout the land those who had already found a home in our
midst.
To
put an end to “this pernicious traffic” was therefore the supreme duty
of the hour, but despite Virginia’s protests and appeals the foreign
slave trade was legalized by the Federal Constitution for an additional
period of twenty years.
The
nation knew not the day of its visitation – with blinded eye and
reckless hand it sowed the dragon’s teeth from which have sprung the
conditions and problems which even to-day tax the thought and conscience
of the American people.
The
action of the [constitutional] convention is declared by Mr. Fiske, to
have been “a bargain between New England and the far South.”
“New
Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut,” he adds, “consented to the
prolonging of the foreign slave trade for twenty years, or until 1808;
and in return South Carolina and Georgia consented to the clause
empowering Congress to pass Navigation Acts and otherwise regulate
commerce by a simple majority of votes.”
Continuing,
Mr. Fiske says, “This compromise was carried against the sturdy
opposition o Virginia.” George Mason spoke the sentiments of the
Mother-Commonwealth when in a speech against this provision of the
constitution, which reads like prophecy and judgment, he said:
“This
infernal traffic originated in the avarice of British merchants. The
British Government constantly checked the attempts of Virginia to put a
stop to it. The present question concerns, not the importing States
alone, but the whole Union . . . Maryland and Virginia, he said, had
already prohibited the importation of slaves expressly. North Carolina
had done the same in substance. All this would be in vain if South
Carolina and Georgia were at liberty to import.
The
Western people are already calling out for slaves for their new lands;
and will fill that country with slaves if they can be got through South
Carolina and Georgia.
Slavery
discourages arts and manufactures. The poor despise labor when
performed by slaves. They prevent the emigration of whites, who really
enrich and strengthen a country. They produce the most pernicious effect
on manners. Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant. They bring
the judgment of Heaven on a country. As nations cannot be rewarded or
punished in the next world, they must be in this. By an inevitable chain
of cause and events, Providence punishes National sins by National
calamities.
He lamented that some of our Eastern [New England] brethren had, from a lust of gain, embarked in this nefarious traffic.”
“But
these prophetic words of George Mason,” adds Mr. Fiske, “were powerless
against the combination of New England and the far South. Governor
Randolph and Mr. Madison earnestly supported their colleague . . . and
the latter asserting: “Twenty years will produce all the mischief that
can be apprehended from the liberty to import slaves. So long a term
will be more dishonorable to the American character than to say nothing
about it in the constitution.
Thus
it was by the votes of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut,
Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and against the
votes of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Virginia, that the slave
trade was legalized by the National Government for the period from 1787
to 1808.”

Murdering for Allah
Shooting and stabbing their victims, the evil Islamic murderers of Boko Haram continue to terrorize Nigerians. Their attacks continue to take place with regularity. This time they attacked a wedding party, ambushing them on a rural road in Borno State in the north eastern part of Nigeria. This is the center of Boko Haram's Islamic insurgency. They surround unsuspecting victims and then callously murder them one by one.
Boko Haram 3The wedding convoy was returning to the state capital Maiduguri when they were ambushed along the mountainous Bama-Banki highway, a known target for Boko Haram. It's rural and easy for the Islamic butchers to ambush any travelers on these back roads. They also hide out in this region, and stalk their prey like wolves, waiting for an opportunity to attack.

The Northern Virginia Tea Party is planning a rally outside the McAuliffe campaign's rally with President Obama on Sunday. Joined by Dr. John Cuccinelli, brother of the Republican candidate, the activists will protest ObamaCare and warn about its possible expansion in Virginia if McAuliffe is elected Governor on Tuesday.
"Don't let [McAuliffe] get away with bringing the trainwreck that is Obamacare to Virginia," the group said in an email to supporters. "[C]ome and show them that Virginians, especially Virginian women, won't stand for this!"

Newspapers ordered to cover up black violence
When a mom and daughter were kidnapped, forced to withdraw money from an ATM, raped, then shot last week, the Indianapolis Star played it by the book: Do not mention the suspects are black.
The “book” in this case is written by the Society of Professional Journalists, headquartered just three miles from the scene of the crime. In last month’s issue of the SPJ magazine, the oldest and largest organization of journalists in America reminded its members how they should report racial violence.
Don’t.
The SPJ story was just repeating what dozens of chapters around the country tell its members in regular seminars: Unless someone is considerate enough to wave around a sign saying, “Kill Honky,” or issue a press release or utter racial expletives in front of lots of witnesses, the fact that the suspects just happen to be black has no bearing on the story.
And if you wonder about it, you are probably a “racist and hater,” said the SPJ.
Never mind that when Indianapolis police dispatchers take a 911 call, one of the first questions they ask is about race.

Gloves Off: GOP Establishment Goes After Tea Party
The National Republican Senate Committee, the GOP campaign arm responsible for Senate elections, has decided to use its political power to block consulting firm Jamestown Associates from receiving political work from GOP candidates or incumbents.
Jamestown's "sin" is working with the Senate Conservative Fund, an organization that supports conservative candidates for the US Senate.NRSC communications staffer Brad Dayspring, a former spokesman for House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), told The New York Times on Friday, “We’re not going to do business with people who profit off of attacking Republicans. Purity for profit is a disease that threatens the Republican Party.”
Jamestown Associates has done work with the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), a conservative group largely responsible for the elections of Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rand Paul (R-KY), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Pat Toomey (R-PA), and Ron Johnson (R-WI), among others. Former Sen. Mom’s Demand Founder Declared EVERY GUN an assault weapon.
Shannon Watts, head honcho of Bloomberg-derivitive gun prohibitionist group Moms Demand Action, managed yesterday to make the single dumbest comment made by a clueless gun control advocate, ever.
Obsessed with banning AR-15s, Watts has shown that she knows nothing about them, and has now redefined “assault weapon” to mean any firearm that can fire 10 shots in a minute, which essentially means any firearm design of the past 150+ years.
The Spencer rifle, created in 1860, has a practical rate of fire of 20 rounds per minute. Lever-action rifles can fire ten shots in a bit less than a minute.

Texas: Grisham (open carry) Case Shows Need for Jury Education

The recent mistrial in the case of U.S. Army Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham shows the lack of education of the Bell County jurors.
The mistrial occurred because only one juror of the six understood his rights and responsibilities as a juror. Initially, according to a member of the jury, L. J. Cotterill, the jury agreed:
“we all agreed that the charge itself and the case itself was garbage. This entire matter should have been resolved by two grown men acting like grown men apologizing for their part in a bad situation and buying each other a beer and then going to a range together.”The problem was that the jury did not know their rights and power to find "not guilty" if justice demanded it, and to ignore a judges instructions. The ability to ignore a judge's instructions is one of the most important parts of jury duty. It derives directly from English common law and the landmark case of Peter Zenger in 1734.
If a jury is bound to follow the judges instructions, they become, in effect, nothing more than government employees, instead of free people with a duty to hold the government as well as citizens accountable.

Global Warming! Antarctic Ice Sets New Record
VERBATIM
On Sept. 22, sea ice extended over 7.51 million square miles of the Southern Ocean, the largest extent in the satellite record, NASA reported.
The previous record, set in September 2012, was 7.50 million square miles.
Antarctic sea ice reaches its minimum extent in February or March and then grows until reaching its maximum in September or October.
"For the second year in a row, we set a record high winter maximum," said Walt Meier, a glaciologist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. "But even though it is a record high, it is only 3.6 percent above the 1981-2010 average maximum."
The overall trend shows growth in the extent of sea ice of about 1.5 percent per decade, NASA disclosed, adding: "Multiple factors — including the geography of Antarctica, the region's winds, as well as air and ocean temperatures — all affect the ice."
The Climate Policy Initiative's "Global Landscape of Climate Finance 2013" report, issued in October, disclosed that governments and private entities around the world spent $359 billion to fight global warming in 2012.
Of that total, 94 percent was spent to support "greenhouse gas mitigation," according to the report, including more than 2,000 large-scale projects involving renewable energy in 19 countries.

When do you start to ask, "Is this guy stupid or just dishonest?" Given that Barack Obama seems to know so little about what's going on in his administration that it's starting to resemble a "Hogan's Heroes" rerun with Bo playing the role of Colonel Klink, maybe the answer is "both."

Are They Going After Mississippi’s State Flag Again?
Via Carl
It should be common knowledge by now that when liberals, socialists, and communists have something on their agenda they seldom quit until they get what they want. Much as I hate to do it, I have to credit them for their tenacity in pursuing their agendas and I could wish our folks on the right had a little more of that tenacity. When the communists and their buddies lose a fight they come back next year, and next year, and so on until they wear their opposition down. And their “opposition”—in many cases, like the judge in Luke 18 that feared neither God nor man, will end up giving them what they want just so that they will no longer trouble them. Christians and patriotic folks have not yet learned that lesson. Most of our folks fight one battle, lose it, and tuck tail and run home and we don’t even think about coming back next year—and so the leftists win by default.
Several years back there was a big fuss in Mississippi over the state flag.
