PRENTICE-HALL OUTRAGE: Its Common Core-aligned History Textbooks Depict World War II-Era America as Evil
Thanks to Townhall's Terrence Moore, we have a pretty good idea of the kind of brainwashing America's high school students are in for as it applies to World War II.
The opening page of the slim chapter devoted to World War II called “War Shock” features a photograph of a woman inspecting a large stockpile of thousand-pound bomb castings. The notes in the margins of the Teacher’s Edition set the tone:
In this section, nonfiction prose and a single stark poem etch into a reader’s mind the dehumanizing horror of world war. . . .The editors of the textbook script the question teachers are supposed to ask students in light of the photograph as well as provide the answer:
Ask: What dominant impression do you take away from this photograph?Translation: Americans made lots of big bombs that killed lots of people.
Possible response: Students may say that the piled rows of giant munitions give a strong impression of America’s power of mass production and the bombs’ potential for mass destruction.
The principal selection of the chapter is taken from John Hersey’s Hiroshima. It is a description of ordinary men and women in Hiroshima living out their lives the day the bomb was dropped...
There is no reading in this chapter ostensibly devoted to World War II that tells why America entered the war. There is no document on Pearl Harbor or the Rape of Nanking or the atrocities committed against the Jews or the bombing of Britain. The book contains no speech of Winston Churchill or F.D.R.
The United States of America, you turds at Prentice-Hall, was engaged in an existential fight against pure evil.

Exterminate the White People of the South
My great great grandfather, The Father Of The NC Bar, words below.
****************************************
Raised
in poverty in Reconstruction North Carolina, Thomas Dixon became a
State legislator before he was old enough to vote, practiced law, was a
noted minister, and author of “The Clansman” at age thirty-eight. He
was determined to one day write the story of Reconstruction to allow the
victims side be heard. The Parson Brownlow quoted below did not
advance any practical or peaceful proposals to end slavery in the South,
if that was his intent and had he wanted to save lives.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"Unsurpassed Valor, Courage and Devotion to Liberty"
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"
Exterminate the White People of the South
“[Many]
corrupt [Northern] leaders sought means to give vent to hatreds that
had been aroused by the war. William G. Brownlow, better known as
“Parson Brownlow,” a preacher who became Governor of Tennessee during
the Reconstruction era, had declared in a speech to a convention in New
York in 1862:
“If
I had the power, I would arm every wolf, panther, catamount and bear in
the mountains of America, every crocodile in the swamps of Florida,
every Negro in the South, every fiend in hell, clothe them all in the
uniforms of the Federal army and turn them loose on the rebels of the
South and exterminate every man, woman and child south of the Mason
Dixon line. I would like to see especially the Negro troops, marching
under Ben Butler, crowd the last rebel into the Gulf of Mexico and drown
them as the Devil did the hogs in the Sea of Galilee.”
Such
fanaticism from influential leaders was not conducive to soothing the
wounds of the war. In Dixon’s native State of North Carolina, as a
result of proceedings brought by Dixon’s uncle, Colonel [Lee Roy]
McAfee, William W. Holden became the first governor to be impeached in
an American commonwealth when his corrupt practices could no longer be
borne by the people.
Many
sane, responsible men, such as Dixon’s father and Colonel McAfee, took
part in the Ku Klux Klan in an effort to bring some sort of order out of
the tragedy of Reconstruction. These men did not tolerate injustice,
and when they saw that the Klan had served its purpose, they immediately
wanted to disband it.
In
later years, Dixon wondered how any person could have lived through
Reconstruction and still have retained his sanity. Lawlessness was, for
a period of many months, the rule rather than the exception.
One
of the brightest periods in Thomas’s childhood began on the day a young
Negro boy, bloody, unconscious and almost dead, was brought to the home
of the Dixon’s. The boy’s father, in a drunken fit, had tried to kill
him with an axe. [The Dixon’s legally adopted him] and from that day
forward young Dixon and little Dick were inseparable companions.”

Comment on: Something to refute the 'horror' of Apartheid
Seems like the normal ratio.........
Great piece sent to me, but unfortunately no source. Apartheid like the so called genocide committed by Serbs were both lies!
7000 blacks under the 41 years of Apartheid lost their lives, and most all of those were black on black murders...
So don't even sugar coat this as being an atrocity when it's clearly and historically not!
Since this tired old canard keeps cropping up to hit white South Africans over the nose like a rolled up newspaper, I thought it perhaps time to separate fact from fiction once and for all. Let those who object say so now or forever hold their
peace.
While we're at it, let's put apartheid as a system into perspective. Do we know how many blacks were killed under apartheid?
We do, and the source is none other than the Human Right Commission submitted as evidence to the TRC in 1997.
The statistics they proffered relate to the number of blacks killed between the years 1948 up to the election in 1994. The total number of blacks killed were 21 000. But wait, it gets more interesting. It's not the full story.
The HRC report also makes a distinction between two periods. One from 1948 till 1989 and the next from 1990 to the election in 1994. The number killed for the period from 1948 until 1989 is 7 000.
That means the number killed from 1990 to 1994 which is AFTER the unbanning of the ANC and for all intents and purposes apartheid had ended is a whopping 14 000, involving mostly black on black violence between the ANC and the IFP and various other factions!
Not whitey's fault.
Of the 14 000 killed during those 4 years, 92% of deaths were caused by blacks killing blacks. Only 5.6% were attributed to the Security Forces at the time and usually in retaliation to attacks initiated by the ANC/UDF that had been unbanned. Remember Ciskei?
The difference in % is due to unknown causes.
What this means is that during the apartheid reign of 41 years, 7000 blacks died compared to double the amount of dead in just 4 years! Let me break it down yet further, 170 blacks were killed as a result of apartheid ANNUALLY. That's 170 people per year! That's the HRC figures people!
Sounds like an insignificant number now doesn't it?
More blacks then were killed under De Klerk's 'new' anti-apartheid government of 4 years than in 41 years of government under full blown apartheid! How good was the propaganda of the anti-apartheid movement eh?!
Let me summarize, this needs to sink in:1948 - 1989: 7000....1990 - 1994: 14 000 (of which 92% as a result of 'black-on-black'
violence)
Really, is this the death toll of the "heinous" apartheid system the world grew to hate? Just 7000 deaths?
And was it the worst thing to happen in the 20th century? Um, let's look at the Left's favorite
socialist/ communist/ marxist/ dictators leaders to name but a few:
(Needless to say, more examples could be given below. BT)
• Jozef Stalin (USSR, 1932-39) : 23 million (the purges plus Ukraine's
famine)
• Mao Ze-Dong (China, 1958-61 and 1966-69, Tibet 1949-50) : 78 million
• Pol Pot (Cambodia, 1975-79): 1,7 million
• Menghistu (Ethiopia, 1975-78): 1,5 million
• Apartheid: 7 000.
The list of far worse political systems is quite extensive and apartheidwouldn't even feature. But such was the venom against it that the result is a country destroyed. Apartheid was far from the monster it continues to be portrayed. I agree though that it was unjustifiable and unsustainable and just plain wrong and given a do-over, whites would rather leave blacks to find their way than provide jobs and healthcare and other services which caused their population to balloon from 500 000 when Van Riebeeck landed to the almost 40 million in 1994...
Facts people, inconvenient little things that keep getting in the way.

The
biggest protest in the former Soviet republic since Ukraine's

It announced an investigation of opposition leaders for an alleged

criminal charges.
The West pressed for a peaceful settlement.

Gingrich and Cruz Takes Heat for Praising Mandela (& rightly so)
Newt Gingrich is defending his praise of former South African President Nelson Mandela, who died on Thursday at age 95.
After posting on Facebook that Mandela was "one of the greatest leaders of our time," the former Republican speaker of the House received mixed results, with some saying he should have condemned Mandela's violent actions and embrace of communist allies.

GRNC: House Republicans hand Schumer chance to ban thousands of ordinary guns
What
is an “undetectable gun”? It isn't what gun control-pushing politicians
like New York senator Chuck Schumer want you to believe it is.
In fact, airports now use “passive body scanners”
that detect firearms regardless of what they're made of. And
ammunition, made of lead and brass, has never been “invisible”.
Apparently Chuck Schumer thinks a gun without ammunition is somehow a
threat to national security.
The
real threat to national security are politicians who rabidly attack
constitutional freedom. Our Republican “friends” in the US House have
done us no favor by passing a bill to extend the outdated and useless
“undetectable gun” ban.
Now
Schumer and his anti-gun majority of Democrats in the US Senate can use
it as a vehicle to tack on provisions that ban guns made with any
non-metallic parts – even wooden stocks!
Their
strategy appears to delay the current ban until after the 2014
election, when Democrats will be more willing to risk their careers
voting in favor of gun bans Americans don't want.
The current ban, set to sunset after 10 years on December 9th needs to sunset. If only Chuck Schumer's tenure would sunset with it...

NC: Media bias still can’t save the failure that is Moms Demand Action
Overflow crowd, no less........
The Raleigh, NC News & Observer has a track record of being on the “wrong side of history.” The newspaper’s recent attempt to drum up support for a Moms Demand Action citizen control rally commemorating the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting is another sad case in point.
A Durham woman was part of a national news conference on Thursday by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a pro-gun control group that sprang up the day after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut nearly on Dec. 14, 2012.
Kaaren Haldeman of Durham is one of the state chapter leaders of what has become a nationwide movement claiming more than 120,000 members. She seemed a little out of place joining representatives from Connecticut, Illinois and Maryland who reported significant success enacting gun reforms in their states this year.Haldeman acknowledged it was “an uphill battle” with “a grim outlook” in North Carolina, where the governor and legislature loosened restrictions on places people with concealed-carry permits can bring their guns, including into bars, restaurants and parks.

"Che Guevara is an inspiration for every human being who loves freedom."
More Mandela-isms:
"The cause of Communism is the greatest cause in the history of mankind!"
"There's one place where (Fidel Castro’s) Cuba stands out head and shoulders above the rest – that is in its love for human rights and liberty!"
Here are a few items the Martian would probably never learn regarding Nelson Mandela or the Stalinist regime he adored:
South Africa's apartheid regime was no model of liberty. But even its most violent enemies enjoyed a bona fide day in court under a judge who was not beholden to a dictator for his job (or his life.) When Nelson Mandela was convicted of "193 counts of terrorism committed between 1961 and 1963, including the preparation, manufacture and use of explosives, including 210,000 hand grenades, 48,000 anti-personnel mines, 1,500 time devices, 144 tons of ammonium nitrate," his trial had observers from around the free world. "The trial has been properly conducted," wrote Anthony Sampson, correspondent for the liberal London Observer. "The judge, Mr Justice Quartus de Wet, has been scrupulously fair." Sampson admitted this though his own sympathies veered strongly towards Mandela. (Indeed, Sampson went on to write Nelson Mandela's authorized biography.)

Is this Common Core math question the worst math question in human history?
This year, 45 states and the District of Columbia have implemented the Common Core standards and curricula based on those standards.
Duncan doesn’t much care for the people who criticize Common Core, either. He has insisted that it’s all a bunch of “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were, and that’s pretty scary.”

Pennsylvania schools told to lose speech limits
School districts in Pennsylvania have been told to remove unconstitutional speech limits after a federal appeals court struck down one district’s policy.
The Alliance Defending Freedom has sent a letter to nearly 300 districts explaining how their policies fall short of the U.S. Constitution according to a ruling earlier this year from the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The court ruled against two policies used by a district to prevent a fifth-grade student from distributing invitations to a party at her church.

Dorkhead Bateman
Well I finally read the LTC Bateman opinion piece. You can read the
drivel here:
http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/bateman-on-guns-120313
Make no mistake, LTC's in the US Army do not put down words lightly. He
meant everything he put onto paper, and truly believes he is smarter
than 5 US Supreme Court Justices. So you have to ask what his agenda
is, and why he is making it now?
What the light colonel failed to understand, which is a discredit both on his education and the Officer Corps, is that the 2nd Amendment doesn't give a single right.
The Second Amendment ensures a right to the States to form militias, and ensures that the People of the United Stated of America can keep and bear arms completely separate from militia service.
LTC Bateman should know this, having taught military history at the US Military Academy at West Point. That he doesn't makes me weep for the cadets who had to suffer through his revisionist agenda.
The Founding Fathers weren't idjits, and so they understood that to have a militia, you needed an armed populace. By protecting the right of the people to keep and bear arms as an individual right, that protects the right of the states to keep militias for the defense of the State.
